DIVERSITY / INCLUSION

Jowonio accepts students with a wide range of backgrounds, skills, and learning needs. We believe that children benefit from engagement with peers who bring a variety of interests and talents to the interaction. Teachers emphasize social inclusion as they plan and work to build a sense of community and social problem-solving.

WHOLE CHILD CURRICULUM

Using a combination of relationship, play-based, and experiential approaches, Jowonio teachers provide a developmentally appropriate curriculum that is adapted to meet the needs and interests of all students. We focus on the whole child, addressing all learning domains and styles of learning, with a particular focus on intentionally teaching social interaction and problem-solving skills. The daily schedule in each classroom is designed to include a balance of child-initiated and adult-directed activities throughout the day. The curriculum also incorporates many opportunities to celebrate creative expression through art, music and dance; the school layout includes multiple indoor and outdoor spaces for movement as well as an art studio and a library.

TEAM APPROACH

Jowonio is deeply committed to a team-based approach that includes a strong partnership with parents. Classroom teams include teachers, assistants, aides and support staff such as speech, occupational and physical therapists, and social workers. On-going mentoring, coaching and collaborative problem-solving is provided by experienced support teachers. We have a school-wide commitment to regular meeting times for planning and clinical discussions. In addition we have opportunities for parents to volunteer and engage with staff in two-way communication, through our website, e-mails, parent conferences, and/or home visits. Social workers offer individualized family support through respite, support and instructional groups, access to community resources, and crisis assistance.

“Jowonio is an amazingly profound and magical experience. It’s truly a family and we are so proud to have our children there.”

“I am extremely sad to be leaving this school. Everyone at Jowonio has been so kind and helpful. This has been the best experience I could have hoped for.”

“What a extraordinary place for a child to grow, play and learn. The staff is loving, patient and will always go the extra mile for our children and our families. Thank you all for all that you do!”

“We have been so impressed with the collaboration of everyone who has worked with our kids. The dedication, compassion and knowledge they bring into the classroom everyday is evident in the growth we have seen with each of our kids.”

“Jowonio is like family to us. We value it 100%. We truly believe this institution creates great outcome!”

“My son loves his teachers and class! I couldn’t have asked for a more perfect place for his preschool years!”

Syracuse and Gems of Ghibla

Being an hour away from Sicily and not visiting Archimedes is no good. Is that why the second popular day trip route from Malta is built around Syracuse?

As with the trip to Tarmina and Mount Etna, the journey starts from Pozzallo. This is a small fishing village and at the same time a port where a catamaran arrives from Malta. From there, a comfortable tourist bus goes straight to Syracuse.

What associations does anyone have with this ancient city? Well, Archimedes (as well as the legendary bathtub and lever) – this is understandable. We present one more song for service – a poignant (everything ingenious is simple) song “Syracuse” by the French chansonnier Henri Salvador. It contains the following lines:

While I am young,
While my springs make me happy,
I would like to see Syracuse,
To remember them in Paris.

In general, we got in the right mood on the way, right?

Syracuse is first and foremost the center of ancient Greek culture: they say that there were once more Greeks in Sicily (part of the so-called Magna Graecia) than in Greece itself. It is the city of the scientist Archimedes, the playwright Aeschylus and the poet Pindar. The philosopher Plato also lived here and wrote off the model of a utopian community from Syracuse. It is also one of the centers of Christianity, embodied primarily in the most magnificent cathedral (Duomo), which is located in the most modern district of the city of Ortigia and which was built on the site of the ancient Greek temple of Athena, which occupied a dominant position in the area. It contains part of the relics (left hand) of one of the most revered early Christian saints – the virgin and martyr Lucy of Syracuse.

© Svetlana Vella

After the spectacle, it’s time for bread: you will be offered a lunch of typical Sicilian dishes (included in the price of the tour) in the agro-tourist complex. Since there are only two types of food in Sicily, “good” and “very good”, hurry up and enjoy!

Have you eaten? Now you can go to the resort town of Marina di Ragusa, where there will be time to swim. The road passes through the outskirts of Giblai – one of the mountain ranges of Sicily.

From paradise for the body (oh, how refreshing swimming in the sea!) we are finally going to paradise for the eyes and… the stomach. We mean the city of Modica, which is known not only for its perfect baroque architecture, but also for chocolate, which is still produced according to the Aztec recipe (yes, this is not the usual chocolate we are used to). And so, with the tiles of this heavenly pleasure, you can have time to admire the world-famous Cathedral of San Giorgio.

You will have free time for lunch (not included in the price), after which the group will go to Marzamemi. We will visit the colorful fishing village and the Campisi company, famous for its Sicilian delicacies. Campisi is a leading producer of fish products: caviar, raw tuna (bottarga), red tuna, traditional Sicilian sauces, the famous Pacino tomatoes grown in this part of Sicily.

Biden visits newly renamed Fort Liberty military base in North Carolina

President Joe Biden to visit newly renamed military base in North Carolina while visiting base formerly known as Fort Bragg

, where he will sign a decree aimed at facilitating the employment of spouses of military personnel and army veterans.

The executive order directs the federal government to develop a strategic plan to recruit and retain military spouses, expand childcare opportunities, and more than ten issues that will make life easier for loved ones of the US military.

First Lady Jill Biden, who spoke to reporters by phone ahead of her visit to the Fort Liberty base, said the order was largely shaped by the president’s interactions with members of the White House’s Join Forces initiative. The program is aimed at supporting those injured while serving in the military, their families and carers of veterans. Biden is expected to sign the executive order while visiting the base.

According to the White House, nearly one in five military families have trouble finding work for their spouses, often leading to consideration of leaving the service. More than 16,000 military spouses now work in federal departments and agencies.

“We are asking agencies to make it easier for spouses working in the federal government to take administrative leave, work remotely, and move from one branch to another,” the first lady said. — We create resources to support entrepreneurs. And the Executive Order is helping agencies and companies keep military spouses on the payroll through the ability to work remotely.”

The signing of the decree will take place at the newly renamed Fort Liberty base. The base, formerly known as Fort Bragg, was renamed just a week ago due to the fact that the previous name was associated with the name of Confederate Army General Braxton Bragg.

The recent renaming of the largest US Army base – some 47,000 soldiers serve here – did not play a role in choosing the place where Biden was going to sign his decree. This was reported to The Associated Press by an administration official who spoke to reporters on condition of anonymity.

Before visiting Fort Liberty, the Bidens will meet with students at Nash Community College in Rocky Mount. A college with a historical African American student population, it recently received $23.7 million to prepare students for clean energy jobs.

Child Care FAQs

The national typical hourly rate in 2022 is $20. 00 per hour for nannies and $17.50 for babysitters. Rates can vary based on the child care provider’s experience, certifications, employment status, and travel expenses. When calculating the cost of child care, you should also account for the number of children they’ll care for and additional responsibilities like household tasks or homework help. Learn more about how to set competitive rates for attracting the best babysitters.

The best way to find child care near you is to post a job detailing your needs on Sittercity, which will be shared with our community of available babysitters and nannies. We’ll notify you when child care providers apply to your job, and from there you can proceed with interviews, background checks, and reference checks so you can find the perfect fit for your family.

You can find experienced and passionate child care providers near you to provide the best care for your child, either in-home or virtually. Child care providers can help families with managing strict schedules, transportation to activities, homework help, last-minute coverage, date nights, and more. Whether you’re looking for full-time, part-time, live-in, or temporary care, you can count on Sittercity for finding passionate and experienced child care providers.

Families find trustworthy child care providers on Sittercity who are passionate about providing safe and enriching care for their children. Many providers report they are First Aid and CPR certified to provide the best care for your family. Babysitters and nannies have the option to complete regular background checks, and you can easily request a recent background check if they don’t have one or it is not recent. Families can also request to see professional references!

Our dedicated team also champions safety across our platform every day. Child care providers go through an identity verification process Berbix when registering an account. Some additional safety measures include Family Watchdog screening, babysitter and nanny reviews, and secure messaging.

Nannies and babysitters share the same primary responsibility of providing safe and enriching care for your child, but there are a few differences between them. Nannies are more commonly associated with regular work, whether full or part-time, offering daily or consistent care to a particular family. There are also several different types of nannies, including au pairs, house managers, doulas, live-in, and overnight nannies.

Babysitters, on the other hand, are typically hired for irregular or occasional work, either full or part-time. If you’re looking for last-minute care for date night, or the occasional few hours after school, a babysitter is a great best option.

Identifying the type and frequency of child care you’ll need is the best way to decide whether a babysitter or nanny is a better fit for your family.

Child care providers on Sittercity love providing enriching experiences for your children, and sharing their passions with them. They’re happy to participate in outdoor activities like sports, or indoor activities like music, baking, tutoring help, and art. Wherever your child’s interests lie, child care providers on Sittercity can engage them in a nurturing way.

Chef Sandra Lee’s home in Mount Kisco

« No More! swears TV show star and celebrity chef Sandra Lee, recalling the two-year saga of renovating her home in Westchester County, New York, “I didn’t think it would take me so much time and effort!” And Sandra had something to compare. She has four weekly cooking shows under her belt, written 25 cookbooks, and launched her own homeware lines at Kmart and Sears. And yet she tried not to fall into despair, scrupulously choosing paints, furniture, textiles. “I don’t like to grab the first thing that comes across,” she explains, “I had to think it over a hundred times and do it perfectly, that’s how I am arranged.”

Photo
Julian Lawrence

She was saved from despair by her innate overorganization. It was this character trait that allowed him to simultaneously do home repairs, star in popular shows and develop his own brand. She and her husband Andrew Cuomo, former governor of New York, and their three daughters wanted to create a real family home where everyone would be comfortable and the girls would have a place to play and walk.

After reviewing dozens of options, Sandra couldn’t get the one out of her head – “the one with the pond.” The most interesting thing is that the site was not even sold, but this did not stop her from slowing down every time she drove by in a car: “This is the quintessence of an American home, it just has wonderful energy.”

Photo
Julian Lawrence

As the saying goes, the one who walks will master the road. Her perseverance paid off: the house was put up for sale and, despite the gloomy, dark interiors of the 1970s, the family immediately bought it. “There were well-proportioned rooms and beautiful fireplaces, which I adore. But what attracted me even more was that it was perfect for all of us. At heart, we are homebodies and spend a lot of time at home, watching TV, chatting in front of the fireplace, making fun of each other,” says Sandra about her family.

To begin with, Sandra decided to get rid of the dark walls, replacing the paint and wallpaper with a fresh, rich palette – from eggplant and chocolate to blue, warm white and bright red. She loves textiles and their textures, so she furnished each room with upholstered furniture: upholstered chairs and armchairs, modular sofas, and even expanded the window sills so that in any corner of the house you could sit down to relax or chat with each other.

“I love this house and have a personal relationship with every room. When we put the property up for sale, I prayed that the next owners would love it as much as we did and cried for hours. When I was walking towards the gate for the last time, a strong gust of wind suddenly came out of nowhere and hit me in the back. My breath caught in my throat, I turned around to look at the house one last time and thank him for all the wonderful days we spent there.

      Development of a child in the first year of life by months. Opinion of a pediatric neurologist – FMC Zdravitsa – FMC Zdravitsa

      The first 12 months of a child’s life. For the newborn himself and his young parents, this is a whole life. Every month brings new skills, new experiences, new expectations. Our pediatric neurologist Roman Sergeevich Popovich told in an interesting and humorous way what to expect, what to pay attention to, and what to do when the most important person in the world appeared in your life – your baby.

      Development and skills of the child of the 1st month of life

      Childbirth is stressful. First of all, for the child. The heavier they are, the greater the stress. And operational childbirth is generally prohibitive stress. In terms of the impact on the child’s senses, they can be compared with ejection from a combat fighter at cruising speed.

      And then the child was born, and then work on you. Eat yourself, digest what you eat, breathe on your own. It only seems to us adults that it is easy. But in fact, more than 50 muscles are involved in the act of breathing, which did not work much before.

      So it turns out that during the first month the child adapts to the world around him. In fact, it does not live, but survives.

      “Then why do you need a neurologist at 1 month?” – you ask. And then, to answer whether the adaptation has passed or we are still waiting. After all, the forces of the body are different for everyone. Typically, postpartum stress lasts 2-3 weeks after vaginal delivery and 3-4 weeks after operative delivery.

      So, how does a neurologist know that a child has adapted. Very simple. The child develops purposeful movements:

      • tries to raise his head while lying on his stomach and turns it to the side;
      • fixes his gaze on the object and tries to follow it, but for a very short time;
      • tries to turn his head towards a voice or a loud sound;
      • freezes upon hearing the speech of an adult;
      • tries to make sounds when spoken to;

      i. e. the child has the beginnings of research activity. The child begins to take an interest in the world around him. And this is the most important thing, because curiosity is the main motivator for brain development.

      Development and skills of a child of the 2nd month of life

      Astronauts say: “Five minutes is a normal flight.” We have almost the same. The first month outside of uterine life had barely ended, and the baby’s brain already understood that, firstly, everything is not so bad, and, secondly, if you want to live, know how to spin. And the child begins to push the boundaries of his space and “build” the adults around him.

      “Ugh, how rude,” you might think as you read these lines. But this is the truth of life. The entire second month of a child’s life goes under the flag of exploration and conquest.
      In the best traditions of Robinson Crusoe.

      Just imagine, during the second month of life a child learns:

      • to keep his head in the position lying on his stomach for a long time and in a vertical position for a short time. And at this time he is actively considering;
      • surrounding space with prolonged visual concentration;
      • begins to open his fist, which means he is preparing to grab and hold objects;
      • begins to isolate new sounds against the background of others, smiles at the speech of an adult;
      • makes sounds spontaneously;
      • begins to understand that they are fed at certain intervals, and if you shout, they will pick you up, warm you up and feed you. And most importantly, crying becomes diverse: special for each situation. And parents should understand when a child cries from hunger, and when from boredom.

      Well, as mentioned above, the second month of a child’s life is a very important stage, because at this moment the foundation of intellect and socialization is laid, and you cannot build a strong house without a good foundation.

      Development and skills of a child of the 3rd month of life

      Time flies. They didn’t have time to look back, and the kid had already looked around in this world and began to command. And he makes plans to capture space. Yes, yes, this is the natural desire of any living being to push the boundaries.

      But before becoming the ruler of the universe, you need to understand how this can be done, and also find out who is a friend, and with whom you need to keep an eye out. And the child does this for the entire third month of life, continuing to improve in previously acquired skills and abilities.

      So, what does our little conqueror of the world do in the third month of life:

      • lies on his stomach leaning on his forearms;
      • raises his hands above the horizon;
      • holds the toy put into the hand, examines it and puts it in his mouth;
      • watches how the hands move, tries to control their movements with the eyes, tries to grab an object, and sometimes it works out;
      • begins to single out the mother from those around her, becomes wary of unfamiliar faces and places;
      • recognizes the voice of the mother and begins to pronounce vowel sounds in response to the appeal;
      • pays attention to the speaker and begins to react emotionally to this;
      • changes the intonation of his voice, laughs out loud.

      Thus, in the third month of life, the child begins to form the recognition of “friend or foe” and the basics of manual (manual) skills.

      Another important moment in the development of a child is the beginning change in muscle tone, from intrauterine to extrauterine. And until the final change in muscle tone, massage, without clear medical indications, can disrupt the correct pace of development of the baby. This means that if parents want to give their child a massage, you first need to consult a doctor.

      Development and skills of the child of the 4th month of life

      Do not rush! The development of the baby goes in waves: peaks of development alternate with lulls. To a certain extent, of course. During a period of calm, the child accumulates strength, so that later he can rush forward and upward again.

      And four months is just such a period of calm. Pause. Small but important. At this time, the child hones the acquired skills. Improves them. Brings to automatism. And therefore, we exhale and enjoy parenthood.

      At the fourth month of life, the child has support on the full foot. Now he doesn’t need it yet, but it’s a very important skill in the future.

      He becomes very curious: he fixes his eyes on an object and examines it for a long time.

      Begins to distinguish not just sounds, but voices. Highlight voice intonation. When an adult appears, a bright “revival complex” is quickly evoked in a baby. Actively buzzes.

      And, of course, cognitive activity begins to develop. The child actively uses his hands: feels toys, slaps on a blanket or pillow.

      So, until the teeth come out (and we perfectly understand that it hurts like hell), the child is happy and happy.

      Development and skills of the child of the 5th month of life

      Well, what? Have a rest? Gained strength? Then go ahead for new achievements and sensations.

      Perhaps the most vivid impression for an infant in the first six months of life is teething. He had not come across anything like this since the birth.

      And it would seem that taking into account the pain and sleepless nights, the development of the child will slow down a little. But no. The fifth month of life is full of surprises and wonderful discoveries.

      Strengthened muscles allow the child to actively raise his head while lying on his back, roll over on his side, and sit with support holding his head steady. This means that the cervical curve of the spine is formed and the thoracic curve is being formed.

      And since everything is fine with the neck, then the nerves of the shoulder girdle are actively working and developing. And the child enjoys it. Grabs small items. He brings them to his eyes and examines them for a long time. Plays with hanging toys. And you can do this for a long time.

      At this age, the child’s knowledge of the world through the game is clearly formed. Shake the toy – it rattled. Shake harder – louder sound. Funny.

      The child begins to examine not only what is within the outstretched arm, but also objects located in different places. Keeping your eyes on new objects.

      Active hum becomes long, melodious. Often appears in response to an appeal to him. Sounds also attract attention, and the child even turns to a loud sound if he is not busy with something important.

      But that’s not all. In response to the diversity of the world, the child gives a variety of reactions. Crying becomes modulated. A smile appears at the silent adult. The child begins to distinguish between gestures and facial expressions.

      And like the icing on the cake – the emergence of the first self-service skills. The child starts eating with a spoon. And that means new sensations and joys ahead. Yes, yes, this broccoli puree looks very harmonious on kitchen wallpaper.

      Development and skills of the child of the 6th month of lifea

      Can you imagine!? Your baby is already six months old. Six months!

      During this time he learned a lot, grew up, got stronger and…

      Decided to take a tactical pause in development.

      Honestly.

      The sixth month of life is the polishing of previous acquired skills and preparation for a new breakthrough in development.

      But even in such a kind of timeout, the baby has something to please you.

      First, at this age he is able to sit passively. And this significantly stimulates visual perception. After all, sitting, you can see much more than lying down. And the child begins to actively look at large pictures.

      Secondly, he actively uses his hands. Learns to stretch the arm forward while lying on the stomach. Supports the bottle from which he drinks. Actively explores the rattle and looks for its use: it rattles, knocks, throws and even tries to eat it.

      And finally, thirdly, the emergence of differentiated emotions. Yes, yes, it is at this age that a child begins to enjoy familiar faces and be afraid of strangers. Recognize and rejoice if someone calls him by name, and be alert if he hears an unfamiliar name. And like a cherry on a cake, babble appears, and echolalia (repetition of sounds and sometimes syllables when addressing).

      Development and skills of a child of the 7th month of life

      Time flies, we didn’t have time to look back, and the child is already seven…

      Don’t be afraid, we are talking about months.

      After a short technical break, the child again increases the pace of his development. By this age, the child perfects a number of skills acquired earlier. And if they don’t, it’s very, very bad.

      I’m talking about turns. By seven months, the baby should be able to roll over from back to stomach, from stomach to back, and do it on both sides. This is a decreed period of development. The absence of turns in seven months is a reason to sound the alarm and run to the specialists.

      But enough of the sad stuff.

      We are talking about the joy of parenthood. About how wonderfully the child develops.

      We are all waiting with you, the year he will begin to conquer space. Well. We waited. By seven months, the child begins to crawl on his stomach, using his hands. Not far, of course. But the main thing is to start!

      And yet, the child grows by playing and the game grows with him. Look, at seven months old, he grabs a toy from different positions and twists and turns it in every possible way.

      And after all, not only a toy, but everything that can be reached. And he has fun throwing toys, bottles and watching your reaction. And after all, it’s so exciting to watch how mom gives the rattle to the bed for the thirtieth time.

      “Interestingly, mother, but for the thirty-first time you will have enough strength and patience. Bach! And we smile…

      But don’t do it like that. Don’t wag your finger at me, Mom. I know what this gesture is. Yes, yes, and I know how to show my emotions. I can squeak thinly like a mosquito and growl menacingly like a bear.

      And there are more and more syllables in my vocabulary.

      But I can’t ask for a drink. But if you, mother, hold a cup, I will drink from it with pleasure. In vain, you gave it to me. Oh, in vain… Bang!!!

      Where to? Where are you going with the cup? Give it back! We played so well!!! A-a-a-a-a-ah!!!!”

      Development and skills of a child of the 8th month of life

      So, we can only dream of peace…

      The child gradually strives for the stage “in every little child and boy and girl, there are three hundred grams of explosives, or even half a kilo.” In a belligerent way, but with the tenacity of a true hero. And in the pauses between crawling, he can sit down, from a lying position through his side, rest. Or even get on all fours. Stay like that, think.

      But sitting is better. The truth often falls over, but, on the other hand, he has already learned to spread his arms in order to maintain balance or protect himself when falling.

      And the child also understood what the thumb is for. And he actively uses it in grasping objects. Look, he no longer just holds the toy, but also knocks with it. A couple more days and the whole house will be filled with music: the child will beat an object against an object. And you need to hide things more reliably, because he has learned to recognize familiar objects by their parts, and remove obstacles on the way to the goal.

      The child has become more curious and looks for familiar objects that you name. And he began to react differently to people: to those whom he sees often, rarely, or, in general, for the first time. He actively reacts when you talk to him, fulfills the simplest requests: when dressing, he gives his arm or leg. Repeats syllables in babble.
      In general, as always, I am happy and happy…

      Development and skills of a child of the 9th month of life

      Not in vain! Oh, it’s not in vain that the school year starts in September… From the ninth month.

      Yes, by the ninth month, the development of the child allows him to learn and have fun. And what: he knows how to crawl on all fours, which means he can get to new knowledge. He listens to music, which means it will be more fun on the road. And if you pick it up, it will start dancing to this music.

      Holds, bites and chews pieces of semi-solid food, which means that you can have bread and a banana for a snack. Does it really look like a school lunch?

      Well, and most importantly, at this age, the child begins to imitate adults, easily making contact with them at the game, speech and emotional level. This means that you can teach him some actions, for example, “High five”, or more complex ones, without gestural reinforcement. Or new syllables.

      Or games – find a toy, for starters, you can hide it in front of him, of course, he will quickly find it, but he will understand the essence of the game.

      And at small breaks, believe me, the child will find something to do. After all, he already knows how to grab, push, throw toys, and can even put a cube on a cube.

      So go ahead and with the song, crawling to new knowledge!

      And wave your hand?

      Development and skills of a child of the 10th month of life

      Imagine: in the morning, you are sitting, in a rare moment of free time, drinking tea and suddenly you hear ringing laughter, what is your reaction?

      Correct. Go and see what’s there.

      Come into the room, and there… your miracle is standing by the mirror and poking his finger at his reflection and laughing. And you start laughing with him. They laughed, your baby crashed on the “fifth point” – he learned to get up just five minutes ago, but he hasn’t yet sat down from a standing position. But he didn’t get upset, he confidently crawled up to you, stood at your feet, and you understood: no, he didn’t dream. And then he grabbed you by the hem with two fingers, and not with his palm, as before. Another surprise. Nice. Well, now it will be more fun to brush your teeth and wash your face – in the mirror we will now recognize ourselves and mom (or dad).

      We rejoice from the bottom of our hearts, we also cry in other things, and we get angry, so there are definitely no doubts left. And the child can now point his finger and call people and objects in separate syllables, not always the first, but not for long. And since he can poke and name, it means he can recognize and show, which means, go ahead, we learn to know the world.

      Do not forget about toys, now the child can be taught not only to scatter them, but also to collect them.

      Development and skills of the child of the 11th month of life

      Your baby is growing, growing.

      Now he can get up and stand on his own. This is undoubtedly an important skill, but not the most important thing at this age.

      “Yes, how is that?” – you will say surprised, or maybe a little indignantly.

      And just like that! Undoubtedly, this is a very noticeable skill, but not the most important.

      “What then? That he learned to wave goodbye?”

      No, of course not. It is very sweet and fills the heart with joy. But this is not the most important skill.

      Give up?

      “Well, okay, yes,” you agree. There are few options – to play with two toys, put a cube on a cube, string rings on a pyramid pin, understand the word “no”.

      No.

      The most important skill that a child develops at eleven months is the purposefulness of activity. The child begins to anticipate the result of his actions and strive to achieve it.

      “I see the goal – I don’t see the barriers” – this is just about them, about the kids. Therefore, the cube on the cube, and the rings on the pin, and your “no”.

      Agree, being able to set a goal and strive for it is the most important skill, and not only at eleven months, but in general, throughout life!

      Development and skills of a child of the 12th month of life

      Happy Birthday!!!

      Your baby has come a long way in a year! Yes, that’s right, with a capital letter.

      From a “screaming” person, he turned into an upright person, mostly with support and support, but there are already the first attempts to take independent steps.

      It’s time to celebrate and give presents. And more, more. Your baby can already take them in both hands, and even grab them with his teeth.

      Of course, the best present is a book! With cardboard pages that the baby can already turn over. And poke your finger at pictures with familiar objects when you name them.

      And you can also give a sorter – after all, the child has learned to push objects into the holes.

      You can also play hide and seek with him. Hide a toy, for example, a ball (after all, he already knows how to play with it and he likes it) and ask to find it. And the kid will understand your request and will be happy to fulfill it. And when he receives all the gifts, ask him, and he will gladly hug you all.

      Who is he looking for with his eyes? Everything is clear, the grandmother left the room, and the baby began to look for her and call. Yes, he already does. And he can even speak about five words.

      What is a holiday without refreshments? Well, where is the spoon? because the child is already eating on his own.

      And after the festive dinner, songs and dances. And the baby actively sings along, following the rhythm and intonations, though only with individual sounds, sometimes syllables, but not all at once.

      Well, the holiday was a success.

      Development of a child in the first days of life

      Finally, a small, wonderful baby, whom you have been waiting for, has finally come into the world. He is still so unintelligent that he seems to have only two concerns: to eat and sleep, however, this is a serious delusion of most parents. In the very first month of its existence, the baby develops much more than in the rest of the years of life. Therefore, the first days of a child’s life after birth are quite important and full of certain difficulties.

      After all, now he has abruptly switched from his usual environment to a new breathing and nutrition. A born baby, like all living beings, has a certain set of reflexes. If you touch the lips of the child with your finger, then he pulls them out, as he has already prepared to take food from the mother’s breast. At any loud sound, the child will be alert, frown, or, in general, scream. But the most important thing that should not be forgotten is that the child is already individual and has his own character.

      Each period of a newborn’s life has a number of its own characteristics. For example, in the very first period of his life, up to about 10 days, the baby still does not hear well, as his body adapts to the new environment around him. Hearing develops gradually during the first year of a child’s life. Mom should help the baby develop this skill, constantly talk with him, although it seems that the baby does not understand, you can also turn on calm music quietly. An important thing in a child’s hearing development is a simple rattle. With its help, the child develops auditory skills, and the mother can observe such development. The hearing test is done with a clap – the child must close their eyes to this kind of sound.

      As far as vision is concerned, the ability of a newborn to focus on anything is not developed in the first days. This skill can be developed in an infant with the help of the so-called mobile, which is attached to the baby’s crib. During waking hours, the child watches objects moving above him with interest – this, firstly, and secondly, thereby developing the skill of focusing his vision.

      By the end of the first month, a newborn should have a certain list of skills. The first of these is a reaction to loud sounds, which is accompanied by a shudder or blinking of the baby. The second is the ability to keep an object in the field of view and follow it. The third is to raise and hold the head in a prone position for 10-25 seconds. Fourth – the baby already knows how to smile at all his relatives, but especially his mother. The fifth is the ability to make various kinds of sounds in response to the conversations of adults, in most cases it is a cooing. And the sixth, which can be attributed not so much to skills, but more to interesting facts – a few days after birth, a child can imitate the movements that he saw, for example, show his tongue or open his mouth.

      As one of the Russian proverbs says: “It grows by leaps and bounds” – this also applies to children, especially newborns. Without having time to “blink his eyes”, the mother of a recently born child becomes the mother of a one-year-old baby, and the mother of a one-year-old becomes the mother of a schoolchild.
