Traveling with Children – Winter Edition
A childcare center may not be the first thing you’d expect at a ski lodge. Small World Child Care center in Mammoth Lakes, California, is equipped with everything you’d find at any daycare facility. There are cribs made up in a separate room for napping, as well as toys, face painting, a play house and other child-friendly amenities.
Most providers who successfully make it through the first few years eventually start considering the idea of whether or not they could afford some help with the da care. …..

Managing the Christmas Excitement
As the big day approaches, parents pace may change from fast to frantic, the stores become ever crowded and the sheer noise of the season can become deafening. The child moves from bewilderment and excitement to being overwhelmed and scared. Rather than enjoying their child’s joy, parents may find themselves managing their child’s behaviour……

The Daily Walk
Many years ago I decided to add a daily walk around our neighborhood to our morning schedule. We started out small by walking around our long block. We clocked it in the car and found that it was six-tenth of a mile. That took about seventeen to twenty minutes depending on the skill set and age of the walkers…..

I have been a teacher for KinderCare for over 20 years and I cannot imagine a better place to work. I love that my degree has been used to educate students aged preschool through middle school. Very rewarding!

I have worked with KinderCare for a little over four years. I started as an assistant director and was able to easily move into a directors position. On multiple occasions, they held a position for me until I was able to relocate to the area. Compensation is a little higher than average, benefits are good. The workload can be a little overwhelming sometimes though. However, I have met some amazing, talented people in this company. Some of which I consider some really good friends.
Kindercare is a great employer in my opinion especially for a mom trying to get back in the workforce after having a child. They offer you to bring your child to the center you work out for a very minute fraction of the fee. You get great benefits as well as education assistance and flexible hours so that you can spend time with family as well. They are very focused on training employees and giving second chances as well. I love working for Kindercare and best thing is they are all over and offer company transfers to other locations if you move as well! Very versatile company to work for!

Summer camp in the Leningrad Region
Many of us have been to summer camps as children. Now, it seems almost impossible to find those who at one time did not rest in a summer camp. This primarily applies to those who are now over 30. Those who are now themselves a parent. In our country, the practice of sending a child to a summer camp comes from the Soviet past. With the establishment of socialism, a pioneer movement appeared. From the earliest years, it not only brought up the necessary political orientation in a person, but also instilled really correct life values. It brought up the spirit, will and physical strength. The creation of the pioneer movement resulted in local pioneer detachments, which also performed various social educational functions. While studying at school, children simultaneously participated in activities aimed at the formation of an active civic position.
For example, they helped the elderly and lonely people with housework, organized various subbotniks, organized performances and sections. All these children were engaged in parallel studying at school. In the summer, when the holidays came, the practice arose to go with the same pioneer detachment on campaigns to nearby forests and villages. Near such villages, the first summer camps began to be organized. Later it grew into a mass practice.
However, it was often quite difficult for Soviet citizens to get a ticket to a summer camp for their children. As a rule, this required the fulfillment of several conditions. Quite often, vouchers for summer camps were unevenly distributed among enterprises, and therefore the parents of young pioneers and Octobrists had to “fight” for these vouchers. And if they managed to get a ticket to the summer camp, then it was a real holiday, because it solved many problems with organizing a child’s vacation in the summer. In many ways, this situation was reinforced by the fact that not all parents could send their child to the village to live with grandparents.
And even if they could, then the monotonous village life could hardly be called the ultimate dream for a child: chasing geese (or in fear of running away from them) and twisting the tails of cows is not exactly what a child should do in his free time.
Now it has become much easier to buy and arrange a ticket to a summer camp. Health camp in the Leningrad region “Mayak” offers vouchers for summer shifts for all categories of parents. Thanks to state support, purchasing vouchers for children’s summer camps has become less burdensome for parents than it used to be. Now the state compensates up to 2/3 of the cost of a ticket for a summer shift to a children’s camp. We have described the general advantages of sending a child to a children’s summer camp in this article. But once again it is worth saying that for the overall development of the child, traveling to a summer camp in the Leningrad Region has many positive aspects. Physical activity and educational activities within the camp will allow the child not only to improve their health, but also to gain new necessary knowledge.
The experience of being in new conditions far from parents will also have a positive effect on the child’s personal characteristics, because sooner or later he will have to fly out of the parental nest and go into his own life. Agree that it will be much more useful if a person receives primary social skills at the stage of growing up, rather than encountering difficulties in communicating with other people as an adult.
In addition, the presence of a child in the suburbs of St. Petersburg in the urban-type settlement of Vyritsa and the city of Tikhvin, with their abundant mixed forests and the purest air, will have a beneficial effect on the health and general well-being of the child. Outdoor physical activity is a fairly common medical prescription for today’s children. The abundance of various content and entertainment on the Internet makes many people forget about the importance of active games, walks and outdoor sports. Many children are already beginning to simply ignore physical education lessons.
And there is absolutely nothing good in the fact that the child was in a stuffy apartment, not only during the entire school year, but also during the summer holidays.
Summer camps, organized on the basis of the Mayak children’s recreational and educational center, invite children to spend their summer holidays in the green expanses of the Leningrad Region. The summer shift in the camp lasts 3 weeks, which is quite enough to improve the general condition of the child, according to doctors. However, 3 weeks is often not enough for the children themselves, and many do not want to leave the summer camp so much that they literally beg their parents to let them stay for one more shift. Well, we are just happy!
Our children’s health-improving and educational camps in the Leningrad region are year-round and are ready to receive children not only in summer, but also in spring, autumn and even in winter for the New Year holidays!

Day Care Centers Site
More and more in today’s world both parents have employment and need suitable day care centers for their children. These early stages in a child’s life are very important to their growth and development. Choosing a good child day care center is vital, one where the adult won’t just plunk your children down in front of a soap opera all day and feed them Top Ramen. You should look for day care centers that provide learning programs and playtime for your child, along with a safe and healthy environment.
There are many different types of day care centers, ranging from basic nurseries to preschools that will provide more of a learning environment for your children. Some day care centers specialize in a specific age range, while others are more open. When you’re contemplating placing your child in a specific day care center, you should visit each one with your child. In this way, you can see how your child reacts to the other children who are there and to the caregiver. You want your child to be happy and comfortable.
While some day care centers provide a greater variety of activities than others, any good day care center is going to encourage positive interaction among all of the children. They will also have rules that promote good behavior, learning, manners, and child development. You certainly don’t want to have to worry that your child is going to develop bad habits from day care.

While you don’t need to go overboard in choosing suitable day care centers, you should approach the subject seriously and with thought. Your child is going to be spending a good-sized portion of his or her life in day cares and you want to make sure it is going to be a positive experience. Family is the most important thing in the world and you should make sure that your children are your first priority. When you are considering a day care center, you should look at where it is located and how much it costs. There’s not much sense in putting your son or daughter in daycare so that you can work full time and spending most of what you earn on the day care center’s tuitions and your travel expenses. If that’s the case, you might as well stay home with your child. However, if you do truly need the money, there are usually plenty of day care services available and it shouldn’t be too difficult to find one close by that is reasonably priced.
Different Kinds of Child day Care Centers
While child day care centers are common, there is such a huge demand for this service that there are now quite a variety of options available other than basic day care. These include the following:
Home child care or family childcare
Child care services
Preschool
Nursery
Home child care tends to be the most popular option because it is generally more affordable and a smaller environment. While some day care centers are quite large and can provide better early childhood education, it is also more difficult for each child to receive personal attention. Day care centers that are based out of someone’s home are usually more personal and your child can receive more care and nurturing. Most parents want their children to be receiving love and affection, the care that they themselves would give them. They don’t want a day care business that is merely going to make sure that their child is still alive and adequately healthy.
Home child care providers are also more adaptable, generally speaking. This means that if your child likes a certain song sung to them before they take their nap each day, the home care provider is more likely to be willing to do that than someone in a larger day care facility. Most adult home child care providers are parents themselves, making them better able to understand and love your child.
Other Things to Think About
One of the first steps you should take after picking out a family day care center that you think will be suitable for your child is do a little investigating. This can involve talking to the parents of the other children that use the child day care center to see what they think about it. You should also always check to make sure the child care service you are considering is legally licensed to operate in your state. Licensing officials check criminal records and ensure that the child care provider has emergency response training and a safe and healthy environment for the children. As mentioned earlier, it is a good idea to visit the child day care center that you are considering. You should do this at least a couple of times, and try to go at different times of the day so that you can get a better idea of what kind of schedule they have. This will help you to see how your own child would fit in. If you are having difficulties finding the appropriate child care environment for your son or daughter, there are some other options. Some people get family and friends to help out, while others hire a nanny. Adult nannies are a good option because they ensure that your child receives personal attention and quality child care. However, this also means that your child will not receive as much social interaction since he or she won’t have other children to play with like in a family day care center.
No matter what option you decide to go with, make sure that you know who you are leaving your child with. Meet them, get to know them, and let your child do the same. Do some research on the internet to make sure that no one has had negative experiences with the day care center you are considering. Check to make sure that they are legally licensed. Once you have done all of this, you can feel more confident and secure in knowing that you have chosen the right day care center for your child.
Switching Day Care Centers
Choosing Another Child Care Provider
So you want to switch day care providers for your kids but you don’t know where to start or what to choose among the plethora of options out there in this world. It is fittingly one of the most important decisions of a young parent’s journey due to the fact that a child’s first formative years up until the age of six is critical. It is important for parents to not just consider the monetary impact of these choices but also the emotional, intellectual, and social future impacts the choice of a day care provider will have on their kids in the long term future. So let’s discuss some general tips to consider for the parent and the child to consider when one is looking to switch day care providers within a short time frame.
First, you must consider the cost of attending some of the more prestigious and rigorous day care provider centers in your area. In some areas, let’s face the reality that the more money per month per child spent; the better the facilities and the educational value experience offered for your child. Things such as using smart boards and I Pad’s to enhance the learning experience is a very real possibility in these places. However, if a parent is budget conscious they can still afford this experience but it would mean cutting back on all or most non-necessity spending. This would include curbing your eating out habits as well as any leisure entertainment or travel activity and place that money instead into your child’s future day care home. If an expensive day care sees that you are making an effort to keep up with the payments; then they will be more willing to work with you and not let your child leave that place. For a child going to this environment, they need to consider whether or not they will fit into this environment, things like playtime, feeding time, and individual care of the staff- is it received well by the child? These will make the difference between choosing these ones or a cheaper alternative. Cheaper is not all bad if the quality and availability of care is there for your child in the first place.
Secondly, you need to consider your travel times and distance of day care relative to your work and other important places like the hospital, grocery store, bank, and places that you frequent on a daily basis. Is it near enough that you can get to your child should he/she become ill or need special attention so that the day care center can contact you and arrange a meeting with you the same day if needed.
Furthermore, you need to consider the overall cleanliness and friendliness of the day care center provider. Do not underestimate a clean environment for your kid to play and learn in with other kids. Your kid will enjoy making new friends in a clean and safe environment. Plus you as a parent will enjoy the peace of mind of knowing that your child will not be being home any unwanted germs and diseases into your house. Parents must also consider if there is a dispute over payment and care; how does the management and staff deal with such requests? If there is a lackadaisical approach to your core issues; then that is a bad prelude of things to come concerning your child’s care. Your child will probably feel like he/she is being neglected or not fed on time and will start to complain to you ever so slightly that something is not right. When they do, do not hesitate to take them out of that day care center and find another one immediately.
In a recessionary economy, it is okay and permissible for both parents and kids to demand the best care for their dollar. Make your day care dollar stretch by reading all of the material and brochures and visiting every day center on your list until you find that perfect fit for your child. It’s out there; it is just waiting on you to find it!
Child Care Options for Low Income Families
One of the most frustrating aspects of being a working citizen is not having the ability to afford childcare. The majority of day care facilities charge as much as $300 per week for each child. That amount is difficult for middle-class citizens to pay. Low-income families cannot fathom paying such an expense. Luckily, the government and the various states have developed programs that help low-income families get the childcare they deserve. The following is some information on those programs:
Extended Day Program
The extended day program can assist low-income working parents during the regular school year. Many school districts offer this program. The school keeps children before and after school hours for a small monthly fee. A parent can drop a child off as early as 7:00 a.m. and pick the child up as late as 6:00 p.m. This program is excellent for low-income workers with daytime weekday jobs. The cost is approximately $150 per month for before and after school. The weekly rate is approximately $37.50, which is extremely competitive.
The attendants participate in various activities with the children before and after school. They help the children with their homework so that the parents have less stress when they come home from work. They give the children a full breakfast in the morning program and a snack in the evening program. Parents can opt to pay for the morning program only, the evening program only, or both programs. The evening program is the more expensive of the two because it lasts so many hours after the school releases the children. The evening program is $100 while the morning program is $52.
The Child Care Assistance Program
CCAP is a special program that provides childcare assistance to certain low-income families. People who are collecting TANF are automatically eligible to receive this assistance. Teenage parents who are working on obtaining their educations are also eligible for CCAP. Those who are not collecting TANF can still qualify if they are pursuing education that will improve their work skills and job opportunities. Parents can apply for CCAP assistance with the Department of Children & Family Services. The financial guidelines for qualification are along the lines of a $3,000 per month income threshold for a four-person family. The applicant must have proof of income, social security cards, birth certificates, and immunization records for all children. Application processing can take up to 30 days.
Head Start
Head start is a program for children between the ages of three and five. The program provides childcare services and medical services to the children who qualify. It is funded by the Administration of Children’s Services. The Head Start program covers childcare from 7 a. m. to 5 p.m. Teachers work with the children to fine-tune their social and developmental skills. Those who are interested in the program may apply online. Applicants go on a waitlist until there is an available slot in the program. It is best for an interested person to complete an application as quickly as possible since the wait may be extended.
Child Care Voucher Program
The Child Care Voucher Program is in effect in many states throughout the United States. It provides a subsidy of up to 95 percent of childcare cost to low-income families. Subsidy recipients will choose an eligible provider from the list of licensed providers. They may also select a relative or an in-home provider. The Child Care Voucher Program covers the childcare from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Monday through Friday. This is known as the traditional childcare period. However, the program also covers non-traditional times for parents who work odd shifts. It covers nights, weekends, and evenings.
A wide variety of options is available for low-income childcare. Many stay-at-home moms also run small day care businesses in which they discount their services. There is a way to make working and taking care of your children affordable.

Each weeks topics and activities are rotated to keep their interest at peek levels. Classrooms are arranged into learning centers, which allow children the freedom to play and develop skills.
The daily schedule is a carefully planned balance between self-directed and adult-guided activities and the rooms are arranged into learning and activity centers. During “free play” children are offered group experiences, one-on-one interactions and also time to play alone if she/he chooses. Children are encouraged to participate in activites but are never forced to do so. The acitivity plan for the week is posted, and we encourgae families to participate in our curriculum activites as often as they can. We offer children an opportunity to play outdoors daily if weather permitting.

GISMETEO: Caterpillar turns into a butterfly: full video of the magical process – Animals
GISMETEO: Caterpillar turns into a butterfly: full video of the magical process – Animals | Weather news.
Switch to mobile version
Animals
Monarch Butterfly belongs to the Nymphalidae family and is one of the most famous butterflies in North America (and even a symbol of a number of American states). The video captures a truly magical process of turning a butterfly caterpillar into a chrysalis, and then into a beautiful butterfly itself. Let’s talk about it in more detail. nine0003
Monarch caterpillars live for about two weeks. All this time they feed very densely, especially favoring the leaves of the plant. It is thanks to this plant, or rather the poisonous juice that it secretes, that birds do not like caterpillars of monarch butterflies. By the way, the fact that the caterpillars are poisonous is frankly informed by their bright color.
When the time is right, the caterpillar chooses what it thinks is a worthy surface to attach to and prepare for the pupation process. Having occupied the desired point, the caterpillar wraps a twig or leaf with a silk thread and hangs head down, while resembling the Latin letter J. Gradually, the caterpillar molts and turns into a cocoon. nine0003
Major hormonal changes take place inside the cocoon. The tissues of the caterpillars disintegrate and turn into the body of a butterfly. The day before the appearance of the butterfly, the pupa becomes transparent. The complete transformation process takes 8 to 15 days.

Butterfly and caterpillar identification – identify harmful and beneficial insects
Get ready for a journey into the colorful world of insects! You will see unusual butterflies and caterpillars common in the Moscow region, learn how to identify them by their external features and just get aesthetic pleasure!
When we talk about the benefits of butterflies, we most often mean the properties of adults. So, these insects are able to pollinate plants and attract birds to the garden. And if we mention harm, then here we are talking about the caterpillar stage, when the insect actively feeds on plants and can harm country plantings. Butterflies themselves feed on nectar and are absolutely safe for plant health. Therefore, we will agree in advance that by calling a butterfly “harmful”, we mean its caterpillars. nine0003
And now let’s take a closer look at the most common fluttering insects that you can find on your site, and determine which ones are useful and which are harmful!
Admiral – butterfly with stripes
Vanessa atalanta, wingspan 50-65 mm
The admiral is easy to recognize: there are red stripes on both sides of his wings. According to one version, it is thanks to this color that the butterfly got its name, because. Russian admirals used to have ribbons over their shoulders and red stripes on their trousers. The lower wings of the insect are also decorated with red stripes, on which black dots are clearly visible. The edges of the wings are wavy. nine0003
You can meet such a beautiful butterfly not only in Russia, but also in North Africa, North America and even New Zealand. The admiral usually goes to the southern countries for the winter, but sometimes he hides under the bark of trees and remains there until spring. Previously, the admiral was included in the Red Book of Russia, but now the population has recovered.
animalreader.ru
It is not so easy to recognize the future butterfly in the admiral’s caterpillar. Dark color, yellow dots on the sides of the body and frightening spikes – the insect is perfectly protected from birds and knows how to disguise itself. You can meet him from May to August on the leaves of nettles, hops and thistles. nine0003
How to attract the admiral’s butterfly. Admiral likes thistles, asters and brambles, and at the end of the season he is not averse to feasting on cracked plums and pears, especially if they have fermented. Put some fruit in a bowl and the butterflies will fly by the smell. And to see the caterpillars, plant nettles on the site, which will also come in handy as a top dressing for plants.
The ancient Indians believed: if you catch a butterfly, whisper your cherished desire to it and release it into the wild, it will surely come true. Try it! nine0003
Hawthorn – beautiful and treacherous
Aporia crataegi, wingspan 50-65 mm
Hawthorn can often be found in gardens near Moscow. This beautiful butterfly with white wings adorned with black veins flies from apple tree to rosehip, from mountain ash to plum, from grape to pear, to lay its eggs, from which voracious caterpillars will soon emerge. Hawthorn is a “relative” of the famous cabbage. Prefers wetlands and easily travels long distances in search of food and masonry. nine0003
nature.baikal.ru
Hawthorn caterpillars are covered with thick hairs and in a short time are able to gnaw an entire bush or tree. They grow slowly, so they make their nests in the trees for the winter. If leaves appeared on the branches, entangled with mulberry threads, be sure that the hawthorn has settled in your garden!
How to deal with hawthorn and its caterpillars. You can put trapping belts on the trees and put up birdhouses to attract birds. In early spring, it is worth spraying the plants with a solution of copper sulfate (100 g per 10 liters of water) with the addition of 500 g of urea. If there are a lot of pests, use insecticides: Alatar, Fatrin, Kinmiks, etc. Treat during bud break, when the caterpillars emerge from their winter nests, or in the summer after the caterpillars emerge from their eggs. nine0003
Cabbage – a dangerous pest of heads of cabbage
Pieris brassicae, wingspan – 45-63 mm
Cabbage, or white cabbage, is familiar to every summer resident. You can meet her in the beds with cabbage, turnips, turnips and other cruciferous crops. The butterfly is fussily looking for a place for masonry, from which yellow-green caterpillars will soon appear. During the season, one individual lays up to 300 eggs!
Inconspicuous in appearance, whitefish terrifies with its appearance. It is especially worth being wary of females, the main difference of which is black spots on the upper wings. nine0003
Voracious caterpillars of whitefish eat leaves and do not allow the head to form. After a while, only veins remain from the leaf. When food runs out, pests crawl to new plantings.
How to deal with cabbage and its caterpillars. Safe methods include manual collection of caterpillars and trapping of butterflies. You can also plant marigolds, marigolds, mint or sage in the aisles, which will scare away pests. A good way is to cover the cabbage with a mosquito net and agro-cloth so that the butterflies cannot lay their eggs. From folk remedies, spraying 2 tbsp will help. mustard and 1 tsp. red ground pepper in 10 liters of water. And if there are a lot of insects, use Fitoverm, Karbofos, Aktellik or another insecticide. nine0003
Urticaria – connoisseur of birch sap
Aglais urticae, wingspan – up to 50 mm
You have probably seen this butterfly more than once, but you could not even think that the offspring of this luxurious beauty feeds on stinging nettles! A special sign of hives is large black spots on dark orange wings. The hind wings are covered with small blue spots. The insect feeds on nectar of various flowers, and also does not refuse birch sap.
nine0003
nasekomus.ru
One clutch of urticaria can contain up to 150 eggs, from which black furry caterpillars emerge. They begin to gradually eat nettles, and on its top they build a nest of cobwebs to hide from the weather. After numerous molts, the caterpillar turns yellow-black and is ready to pupate.
How to attract urticaria. The answer is obvious – plant nettles! But if you do not want to see this weed in your summer cottage, try pouring some birch sap into flat containers to attract insects. And plant lavender, oregano, echinacea, David’s buddley, spirea, bird cherry and other fragrant plants in flower beds. nine0003
Willow willow – twilight guest
freenatureimages.eu. Catocala electa, wingspan – 65-88 mm
The second name of this butterfly is willow sash. The insect leads a twilight lifestyle, so during the day you are unlikely to see it. The front wings of the butterfly are gray and inconspicuous, but the lower ones are bright red with black edging and spots in the middle. Moreover, in males, a crimson hue prevails, and in females – red. The ribbon can also be seen in autumn. Most often it is found near water bodies, in meadows and in wetlands. It feeds on tree sap. nine0003
pyrgus.de
Willow worm caterpillars are excellently camouflaged. The yellow-gray body is covered with small black dots, the head is brown. The insect feeds on willow and poplar leaves, so it does not harm summer cottage crops. But if you have a willow growing on your site, be vigilant.
How to attract a ribbon girl. It would seem that the insect is nocturnal – why attract it? You can do this at least in order to just see this amazing butterfly. In the evening, turn on a flashlight or other artificial light source – and the ribbon carrier will fly to visit you. nine0003
Lemongrass is a long-liver in the world of butterflies
Gonepteryx rhamni, wingspan – 52-60 mm. Small dots are placed in the center of its wings, and the wings themselves imitate the shape of leaves on a tree. Nature has tried so that these insects can hide from their enemies!
Males have more intense wing color than females. In the latter, a greenish-white hue predominates in the color of the wings. The development cycle of one individual takes about a year, which is a rare occurrence in the world of butterflies. Therefore, lemongrass can be safely called a long-liver. nine0003
macroid.ru
Schisandra lays 1-2 eggs on buckthorn leaves. Then green smooth, slightly flattened caterpillars appear. Despite their great appetite and fastidiousness, insects do not cause much harm to trees.
How to attract lemongrass. Butterflies mainly feed on the nectar of dandelion, meadow cornflower, thistle, but they will not refuse cultivated plants either. With weeds that attract lemongrass, it is better to fight at their summer cottage. nine0003
Malinnitsa is a modest record holder
commons.wikimedia.org by Charles J Sharp. Callophrys rubi, wingspan 26-28 mm
Raspberry and raspberry blueberry are the same butterfly from the genus Zelenushki. It is not easy to notice her, because. the outside of the insect is brown, and the inside is green. In addition, the butterfly is small and almost always keeps its wings folded for camouflage. You can meet her not only at the dacha, where she flies for flower nectar, but also in swamps and meadows. Raspberry is common in the temperate zone of Eurasia. The habitat of the butterfly reaches the Polar Urals, and in the Alps it sometimes rises to a height of up to 1800 m! nine0003
insectamo.ru, author: Ponomarev AG
Raspberry caterpillars have a fairly rich “menu”, which includes leaves of blueberries, heather, birch, gorse, buckthorn and other plants. What about raspberries, you ask? Alas, raspberry caterpillars really will not refuse raspberry and currant leaves. But despite food addictions, they are rarely found on these plants. Insects are sensitive to chemicals, so they prefer to stay away from summer cottages. In addition, in nature, this species is quite rare. nine0003
Some pigeon caterpillars are able to impersonate ant larvae. As a result, the ants feed the caterpillars, and the latter, without hesitation, also eat the eggs and larvae of their benefactors.
How to attract raspberries. Raspberry is not one of those butterflies that will brightly circle over a flower bed. But if you have clover, sweet peas or vetch, she may come for a short time to collect sweet nectar.
Swallowtail Queen of Butterflies
Papilio machaon, wingspan 64-95 cm
This butterfly is hard to miss! Swallowtail attracts attention with its large size and bright color. The butterfly got its name from the name of the mythological doctor who participated in the Trojan War. A special sign of the swallowtail is “tails” up to 10 mm in length on the hind wings.
The swallowtail is found all over the world: in Europe, Asia, North America and North Africa. The butterfly population in the middle lane suffers from fires and trampling of meadows. The view is listed in the Red Book of Moscow. nine0003
The bright caterpillars of the swallowtail resemble fantastic creatures. Immediately after birth, they begin to feed. In the Moscow region, insects prefer umbrella crops: hogweed, carrots, parsley, fennel and dill. If the caterpillar gets into the garden, it can quickly destroy the above-ground parts of the plants. But this happens extremely rarely, because. swallowtail practically does not fly to summer cottages.
How to deal with swallowtail caterpillars. Carefully remove them and take them outside the site, planting them on an umbrella crop. Be careful, the “horns” of the caterpillars emit a caustic liquid, so it’s better not to take the insect with your hands, but tear it off along with a piece of the plant on which it sits. nine0003
Peacock eye – the most picturesque butterfly of the middle lane
Aglais io, wingspan up to 62 mm
This butterfly will impress any gardener! An insect will decorate any flower garden with itself and at the same time its offspring will not cause any harm to the garden and vegetable garden. The round spots on the front and hind wings of a butterfly are very reminiscent of the spots on a peacock’s tail. With the help of such a cunning device, the peacock eye often perplexes birds that would like to feast on a butterfly. nine0003
dic.academic.ru
The peacock eye caterpillar is not so noticeable, although its black spikes can also scare off enemies. Black caterpillars live in large colonies of up to several dozen individuals. Basically, they prefer to eat nettles, thistles or hops, less often – willow and raspberries.
How to attract a peacock eye. These butterflies are excellent pollinators. To attract them to the garden, plant flowers in red, pink, orange or yellow shades in the flower bed. And also plant some nettles on the site. nine0003
How to deal with peacock caterpillars. Invasion of caterpillars can damage the raspberries, but if in the spring you treated the plantings with insecticides as a standard, do not worry about the safety of the crop. Pest colonies are easier to manually remove.
Mother of pearl – the enemy of apple, blackberry and raspberry
Argynnis paphia, wingspan up to 75 mm
Mother-of-pearl is a fairly large diurnal butterfly with an unusual spotted color. The name of the insect was given because of the iridescent greenish-silver spots, by which butterflies recognize individuals of their own species. In warm weather, you can see flocks of mother-of-pearl, busily flying over the flower beds. Also, these Lepidoptera are found along roadsides, in glades and near rivers. There are many subtypes Argynnis paphia , each caterpillar feeding on certain crops.
molbiol.ru
Most often in the country there is a large mother-of-pearl. Forage plants for its caterpillars are apple, blackberry, raspberry, and violets. The body of the larvae is covered with many villi.
How to deal with mother-of-pearl and its caterpillars. There are many ways to protect plants from caterpillars. The easiest is to install trapping belts or pheromone traps and inspect them regularly. Regular removal of curled leaves and attracting birds will also help. Of the drugs, it is better to choose biological ones: Fitoverm, Bitobaxibacillin, Entobacterin, etc.
Meadow grass – poisonous insect
Zygaenidae, wingspan 16-38 mm
In sunny weather, groups of parsley often flutter over flower beds. Insects are easy to recognize: they have rounded red spots on their dark blue or green wings. In addition, unlike other butterflies, the wings of the meadow moth fold in a roof-like manner, like those of moths. If the butterfly is caught, it will begin to secrete a deterrent foam. In nature, no one hunts a butterfly. It is poisonous and is itself very resistant to poisons. nine0003
Larvae are densely covered with warts, from which small bristles protrude. Body color: yellow-green with a scattering of black spots. Caterpillars can also release protective substances, so it is better not to take insects with bare hands. They feed mainly on clover and bird-foot.
How to attract meadow moth. Plant clover, plantain, alfalfa, or thyme. The butterfly will also be delighted with the dandelion, but usually, on the contrary, they try to remove it from the site. nine0003
Burdock – a lover of overseas travel
Vanessa cardui, wingspan 47-65 mm
Thistle butterfly, or thistle, is often confused with urticaria. They are really similar, but, unlike the urticaria, the burdock is much larger and has not blue, but black spots on its hind wings. The number of this species varies from year to year. So, for example, in 2009 there were especially many of them. For the winter, burdocks fly to North Africa, and then return to the European continent and start breeding. nine0003
wallhere.com
Females lay one egg each on thistle, burdock, coltsfoot, yarrow or nettle. After hatching, the caterpillar makes a shelter from the leaves. In her entire life, she can change them at least 7 pieces. Depending on the host plant, the color of the caterpillars will also change. In the summer cottage, they will help in the fight against weeds and become food for birds.
In the southern regions of Russia, burdock caterpillars can infect tomatoes, eggplants, soybeans, melons. nine0003
How to attract burdock. Plant kosmeya, asters, saplings, David’s buddleia, phloxes and other plants attractive to butterflies in flowerbeds. Thickets of thistles near the site will also attract the attention of the burdock.
Thick-headed – unpretentious beauty
ukbutterflies.co.uk. Hesperiidae, wingspan 18-70 mm
Most commonly found in meadows and forest edges. From May to August, you can watch bright butterflies fluttering over clover, creeping tenacious and other plants. But not all fatheads have a rich color, there are specimens among them that can easily imitate a dry tree leaf. nine0003
pyrgus.de
Caterpillars are distinguished by their spindle-shaped body and massive head, from which the butterfly got its name. Depending on the species, the nutrition of caterpillars also differs. They mainly prefer bluegrass, meadow fescue, couch grass and other wild grasses and weeds. Caterpillars and pupae overwinter in the ground.
How to attract a fathead. Butterflies are unpretentious in the choice of nectar, but prefer flowers from the Compositae family: marigold, marigold, sunflower, marigold, chicory, etc.

Preschool education – New World Encyclopedia
Preschool education is education that focuses on educating children from the ages of infancy until six years old. The system of preschool education varies widely, with different approaches, theories, and practices within different school jurisdictions. The term preschool education includes such programs as nursery school, day care, or kindergarten, which are occasionally used interchangeably, yet are distinct entities. While pedagogies differ, there is the general agreement that preschool is responsible for providing education before the commencement of statutory education.
The proliferation of preschool education in the twentieth century can be connected to advances in developmental psychology, such as in the work of Jean Piaget which revealed the nature of psychological development that occurs in the early years of childhood, and from the educators such as Froebel who recognized that children need stimulation, particularly that provided by play and role playing, from a young age in order to develop their full potential, as well as from the needs of large numbers of working mothers to provide a good environment for their young children during working hours. Thus, preschool environments vary depending on whether their main focus is care of the children such as in a daycare program, which nonetheless acts as a socialization experience that extends beyond the family and prepares the children for school, and those which were specifically designed to provide early educational experiences for young children, such as the kindergarten.

While it can be argued that young children do not need these experiences as the family should be their primary learning environment, for many children a preschool environment offers experiences, educational, social, and other basic needs that unfortunately may not be satisfied in the home. Preschool education, thus, is a vital component of the development of many young people. Given the importance of the youth of any society for its future, investment in such programs, together with investment in the families who are the primary caregivers and first teachers of their children, can go a long way to support the development of good citizens for the future.

History
In the nineteenth century, several European educators, including Robert Owen of Great Britain, Johann Heinrich Pestalozzi of Switzerland, Friedrich Froebel in Germany, and Maria Montessori of Italy began to develop educational systems designed for early childhood in the hope of actively helping children during one of the most crucial stages in human development.[1] Robert Owen was responsible for creating the New Lanark school for young children, most of whom were from the poor workers in Owen’s cotton mills. His school was successful, and spurred similar institutions in England.[2]
Froebel came up with the term “kindergarten” (meaning “children’s garden”) and created the first kindergarten school. Froebel believed that human beings were given almost limitless potential from God and saw kindergarten education as a means to start the process of realizing such potential at an early age. His curriculum focused on giving children the freedom to discover their abilities and personalities without forcing pre-determined self-images upon them, supporting the development of creativity, language, and social skills.[3] Froebel’s kindergarten program was spread by a number of teachers he trained, including the sisters Bertha Meyer von Ronge and Margarethe Meyer Schurz in Europe and America, although their programs were still taught in German.
Elizabeth Peabody and Susan Blow developed English kindergarten curricula in the US, where the “kindergarten” became part of required elementary education beginning at age five. However, in 1965, the Head Start program was initiated as part of President Lyndon B. Johnson’s “War on Poverty.” This program provided early pre-school education opportunities to children of low income families, providing health and nutritional services as well as learning opportunities.
While the German idealism and Christian aspects that Froebel and other early preschool educators advocated were not as popular in secularly run educational systems, nonetheless the core principals were widely understood and beneficial to helping child development and a more educated public. Generally, however, preschool education is a matter of choice; formal, state mandated education beginning with entry into elementary school.
Philosophy
Early experience with a keyboard
Early childhood education (ECE) is a pedagogical approach covering the education of children from the period from birth to six years of age.
Child development occurs in a number of domains:
Physical development – Concerning the physical growth and the development of both gross (such as walking) and fine motor (such as finger movement) control of the body.
Perception and sensory development – How a child functions using the senses and the ability to process the information gained.
Communication and language development – Using visual and sound stimuli, especially in the acquisition of language, also in the exchange of thoughts and feelings.
Cognitive development – Concerning how the individual thinks and react.
Emotional Development – Concerning children’s increasing awareness and control of their feelings and how does he react to these feelings in a given situation.
Social Development – Concerning the child’s identity, their relationship with others, and understanding their place within a social environment.
A wide array of educational philosophies circulate through the field in regards to how best promote healthy development in these areas. Some professionals adhere more closely to a behaviorist theory based on the work of those such as John B. Watson, B. F. Skinner, and Edward Thorndike. Others hold to the more unstructured maturationist theory popularized by Jean-Jacques Rousseau and Maria Montessori. Additionally, stage theories such as those of Sigmund Freud and Erik Erikson are used to look at social and emotional development. Many early childhood teacher education programs teach a mix of theories dominated by the constructivist approach put forth by Jean Piaget and Lev Vygotsky.
Regardless of the theoretical underpinnings, in practice early childhood education is largely child-centered education. Therefore, there is a focus on the importance of play. Play provides children with the opportunity to actively explore, manipulate, and interact with their environment. It allows children to experiment with the world around them and the emotional world inside them. To many it might seem like mere entertainment, but during such activities progress takes place in skill building, problem solving, overcoming physical and mental challenges, and so forth. Playing with products made especially for the preschool children helps a child build self confidence, encourages independent learning, and clears his concepts. For the development of their fine and large or gross motor movements, and for the growth of the child’s eye-hand coordination, it is extremely important for him to ‘play’ with the natural things around him. It encourages children to investigate, create, discover, and motivate them to take risks and add to their understanding of the world. It challenges children to achieve new levels of understanding of events, people, and the environment by interacting with concrete materials.[4] Hands-on activities create authentic experiences in which children begin to feel a sense of mastery over their world and a sense of belonging and understanding of what is going on in their environment.
This use of play follows from Jean Piaget’s idea that children should actively participate in their world and various environments so as to ensure they are not ‘passive’ learners but ‘little scientists’ who are actively engaged.[5]
Different preschool environments
The different preschool environments cover those in which education is the main focus, such as kindergarten, to those in which the function is basic care of the young child, such as Daycare. Regardless of the level of overt educational goals, however, children in these environments develop social skills as well as developing familiarity with a situation in which the child is separated from his or her parents for an extended period and must spend time in the company of peers who are not their siblings. When the child learns these skills successfully, preschool education plays a valuable role in preparing the child for school. Preschool programs also may focus on aspects of health, nutrition, and hygiene that may be lacking in their home environment. Again, these experiences are part of socializing the child into the larger community. Programs such as Head Start were designed with these aspects as specific goals.
Day care
Main article: Day care
Sawara-nursery-school, Katori-city, Japan
Day care or child care is care of a child during the day by a person other than the child’s parents or legal guardians, typically someone outside the child’s immediate family. The service is known as “child care” in the United Kingdom and Australia and “day care” in America. Child care or day care is provided in nurseries or creches or by childminders caring for children in their own homes. Child care or day care is ongoing care during specific periods, such as the parents’ time at work. Child care can also take on a more formal structure, with education, child development, and discipline falling into the fold of services.
Where the market is sufficiently large or there are government subsidies for daycare, for-profit corporate day care exists. In North America, Bright Horizons Family Solutions is one of the largest such companies.[6] It is a publicly traded company operating over 600 daycare centers.[7] The Australian government’s childcare subsidy has allowed the creation of a large private-sector industry in that country. ABC Learning Centres is a publicly traded company running about 1000 daycare centers in Australia and New Zealand and another 500 in the US. [8] Another factor favoring large corporate day cares is the existence of childcare facilities in the workplace. Large corporations often do not handle this employee benefit directly themselves and will seek out large corporate providers to manage their daycares. Most smaller for-profit day cares operate out of a single location.
Non-profit day cares have some structural advantages over for-profit operations. They may receive preferential treatment in rent, especially if they are affiliated with a church that is otherwise unoccupied during the week, or with a school that has surplus space. Location within a school may further bring the advantage of coordinated programs with the school and the advantage of a single location for parents who have older school-age children. Parents are typically the legal owners of the non-profit day care and will routinely provide consulting services (for example accounting, legal, human resource) for free. Non-profits have an advantage in fund-raising as most people will not donate to a for-profit organization. Non-profits, however, are typically limited in size to a single location as the parent-owners have no motivation to manage other locations where their children are not present. They may suffer from succession issues as children grow and parents leave the management of the day care to others. Local governments, often municipalities, may operate non-profit day care centers.
Home day cares are operated by a single individual out of their home. This is often a stay-at-home parent who seeks supplemental income while caring for their own child. Home day care providers may also be certified. Local legislation may regulate the number and ages of children allowed and subject the home to more stringent safety regulations before it is considered an official day care center. As home day cares do not pay rent, they are typically less expensive than day care centers.
Local legislation may regulate the operation of day care centers. The legislation will define what constitutes a day care (so as to not regulate individual baby sitters). It may specify the physical facilities (washroom, eating, sleeping, lighting levels, and so on). The minimum window space may be such that it precludes day cares from being in a basement. It may specify the minimum floor space per child and the maximum number of children per room. It may mandate minimum outdoor time (for example two hours for programs six hours or longer). It may mandate staffing ratios (for example 1:3 for under 18 months, with higher ratios for older children). Legislation may mandate qualifications of supervisors. Staff typically do not require any qualifications but staff under the age of eighteen may require supervision.
Nursery School
A nursery school is a school for children between the ages of three and five, staffed by qualified teachers and other professionals who encourage and supervise educational play rather than simply providing childcare.[9] In some jurisdictions the provision of nursery school services is on a user pays or limited basis while some governments fund nursery school services.
In the UK, pre-school education in nursery classes or schools is fully funded by the government and is generally available to children aged over three. Pre-school education can be provided by childcare centers, playgroups, nursery schools, and nursery classes within primary schools. Private nursery education is also available throughout the UK and varies between structured pre-school education and a service offering child-minding facilities.
In Scotland children are entitled to a place in a nursery class when they reach their third birthday. This gives parents the option of two years of funded pre-school education before beginning primary one, the first year of compulsory education. Nursery children who are three years old are referred to as ante-pre-school whilst children who are four years old are termed pre-school. Pre-school education in Scotland is planned around the document “A curriculum framework for children 3 to 5,” [10] which identifies learning intentions around the following five areas of development:
Emotional, Personal and Social Development,
Communication and Language,
Knowledge and Understanding of the World,
Expressive and Aesthetic Development,
Physical Development and Movement
In the United States, nursery school is provided in a variety of settings. In general, nursery school is meant to develop children through planned programs, rather than simply caring for the child in a daycare environment.
Kindergarten
Main article: Kindergarten
Kindergarten (German, literally means “children’s garden”) is a form of education for young children which serves as a transition from home to the commencement of more formal schooling. Children are taught to develop basic skills through creative play and social interaction. In the United States (and Canada) kindergartens are usually administered in an elementary school as part of the educational system (the K in K-12 schools). Children usually attend at ages five to six but in some states they may start as young as four. Kindergarten is considered the first year of formal education although the child may have gone to pre-school/nursery school. It is, however, considered a grade, and not an optional pre-school experience.
In most countries, kindergartens are not part of compulsory education, although in some they may be government run, and attendance may be required when children reach a specified age.
Kindergarten St. Michael in Bietigheim.
The original German Kindergarten (plural Kindergärten) is not part of the actual school system. The term Vorschule, meaning ‘before school,’ is used for educational efforts in Kindergärten, which are handled differently in each German state. Children between the ages of three and six attend Kindergärten, which are often run by city or town administrations, churches, or registered societies that pursue a certain educational goal, e.g., as represented by Montessori, or Reggio Emilia. Kita (short for Kindertagesstätte), meaning children’s daycare center, as they are frequently called, can be open from 7 A.M. to 5 P.M. and may also house a Kinderkrippe, meaning nursery school, for children between the ages of nine months and two years, and possibly an afternoon Hort (normally associated to a primary school) for school-age children aged six to ten who spend the time after their lessons there.
In Israel, a fully developed kindergarten (or Gan) system has been developed to cope with the extremely high percentage of working women in society. There are two streams, private commercial and state funded. Attendance in kindergarten is compulsory from the age of five years. Private kindergartens are supervised by the Ministry of Education and cater for children from three months to five years. They cater for children from three to six years in three age groups; ages three to four (Trom Trom Hova), four to five (Trom Hova), five to six (Hova). At the conclusion of the Hova year (five to six) the child will either begin primary school or will repeat the Hova year, if not deemed psychologically and cognitively ready for primary school.[11]
In Morocco, pre-school is known as école maternelle, Kuttab or Ar-Rawd. State-run, free maternelle schools are available throughout the kingdom, welcoming children aged from two to five (although in many places, children under three may not be granted a place). It is not compulsory, yet almost 80 percent of children aged three to five attend. It is regulated by the Moroccan department of education.
Kindergarten on the Ministry of Agriculture in Afghanistan
In Afghanistan, the equivalent term to kindergarten is کودکستان, pronounced as kudakistan (kudak – means child and stan – means land) and is not part of the actual school system. Children between the age of three and six attend kindergartens which are often run by government. In China, the equivalent term to kindergarten is (幼兒園), pronounced as you er yuan. Before Kindergarten, children may go to nursery for two years. At the age of four children begin Kindergarten and attend until age six. In India, pre-school is divided into two stages – lower kindergarten (LKG) and upper kindergarten (UKG). Typically, an LKG class would comprise children three to four years of age, and the UKG class would comprise children four to five years of age. [12]

About one in ten Americans have some form of diabetes, and many more are pre-diabetic. Although diabetes is a condition that patients can live with for a very long time, the adjustment is a big one. Certified diabetes educators work with patients that have just been diagnosed with diabetes and help them adjust to the lifestyle changes they need in order to make to manage the disease.
Certified diabetes educators help with all aspects of living with diabetes. They teach patients how to use medical equipment that is new to them, such as glucose monitors and insulin pumps. They can also help them plan out any lifestyle changes they need to make to manage the condition, for example by creating meal plans.
Because they provide such a valuable service, it is crucial that a certified diabetes educator knows exactly what they are talking about. That is why most certified diabetes educators are medical professionals, such as registered nurses. Usually, they also need to be certified by the National Certification Board for Diabetes Educators.

A diabetes educator plays a vital part in supporting diabetics by offering guidance and encouragement. They help patients take charge of their lives and follow through with the necessary changes for managing the disease successfully.
When you explore how to become a certified diabetes educator (CDCES), you may find that there are several different educational paths that could lead you to success in this field. Earning an online Master of Social Work or a Master of Science in Nutrition degree might each help you to progress toward your professional goals. Here’s what you need to know about starting your career as a health educator for people with diabetes:
The Role of Diabetes Education
Doctors and nurses prescribe medications and give their diabetes patients directions for their care. However, managing a chronic disease and all the complications that go along with it requires a strong support system and input from many different perspectives.
For example, where a doctor may provide general guidelines and dietary restrictions, diabetes educators can translate this advice into concrete lifestyle changes. As a diabetes educator, you could expand on the advice that patients and their caregivers hear from other medical professionals, sharing a real-world perspective on how to follow through with large shifts in their daily routines.
Diabetes educators may teach groups of patients and caregivers in classes or meet with them one-on-one. If you pursue this career, you might be employed in variety of settings, including hospitals, public health departments, nonprofit organizations and colleges or universities.
Some of the key services that diabetes educators offer include:
Lessons in how to use devices like a glucometer and insulin pump
Explanations of how to recognize and address complications from the disease
Information about healthy lifestyle changes for patients and their families
Personalized suggestions for following a treatment plan
Advice for solving problems and coping with changes
Diabetes Educator: Education Requirements
Specialized education can build your skills in assisting people with diabetes and help you to qualify for certain jobs. Professionals with a master’s degree in social work may be prepared to counsel patients and their families so they can adapt to the changes in their lives. Healthcare social workers have the knowledge and experience to help people plan for the long term as they navigate their treatment.
Some positions require a master’s degree in nutrition, which helps educators understand the complex role that diet plays in maintaining a healthy lifestyle with diabetes. The right nutritional choices can help diabetics control their blood sugar, respond better to insulin and lower their risk for cardiovascular disease. Several common eating patterns have been shown to help people with diabetes sustain a healthier lifestyle:
Vegetarian or vegan
Low fat
Low carbohydrate
Mediterranean, which focuses on plant-based foods with some dairy, fish and poultry
Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension (DASH), which is specifically designed to lower blood pressure
By becoming a diabetes educator, you’ll be able to advise patients on how to make changes in their own lives. Staying up-to-date with the latest thinking in social work and nutrition will allow you to guide people with diabetes as they set goals for their treatment plans and select foods that fit their personal tastes and budget.
How to Complete Your Diabetes Educator Certification
Certification as a diabetes educator is a practice-based credential that indicates experience and mastery in the field. The certification is not intended as a step toward first entering the specialty, but diabetes educators who complete the process may be able to pursue advanced career opportunities. CDCES holders may become leaders and mentors within the field, and they make an average salary of $62,605.
To become a CDCES, you must meet the eligibility requirements established by the National Certification Board for Diabetes Educators (CBDCE) and pass the Certification Examination for Diabetes Educators. To be eligible for the exam, fulfill the following requirements:
The discipline requirement can be met by holding an active license to practice medicine or another of the registrations and certifications for healthcare professionals accepted by the CBDCE. These include being a registered dietician or completing a master’s degree in social work. Along with the standard pathway, there are also unique qualifications that can meet this requirement with preapproval from the CBDCE. Individuals who hold degrees in nutrition, exercise physiology or public health may qualify in this way.
The professional practice experience requirement calls for at least two years of professional experience, plus 1,000 hours of diabetes education over the previous four years
Complete at least 15 hours of continuing education from a provider recognized by the CBDCE within two years of applying for the exam
The exam itself consists of 200 multiple choice questions answered over four hours. If you pass the test, you’ll be awarded your certification.

Examples of companies with vacancies for an endocrinologist
Endocrinology is also developing ways to detect diseases of this system and methods of treatment. The endocrine system includes endocrine glands (thyroid, pancreas, adrenal glands, pituitary gland, etc.), which produce hormones that are responsible for the normal metabolism in the body and affect the functioning of various organs.
The work of hormones is a continuous process. The production of this or that hormone depends on the time of day, food swallowed, physical activity, emotional state, etc. For example, with the onset of darkness, melatonin, the sleep hormone, begins to be produced. For the processing of carbohydrates, the carbohydrate metabolism hormone insulin is produced. Failure in the endocrine system can lead to serious health problems. For example, if insulin ceases to be produced, diabetes mellitus begins.
There are a great many possible causes of hormonal failure: from bad heredity to bad habits. But whatever it is connected with, an endocrinologist is engaged in its treatment. One of the problems in this medical industry is that very often a hormonal imbalance is not noticed until it has moved into a clearly painful phase. Constant weakness, excess weight with moderate nutrition, weight loss with good appetite, absent-mindedness, sudden mood swings – many people perceive all these symptoms as the norm, or try to improve the situation with the help of diets, long sleep and willpower. Although the root of the problem may be in the work of the hormonal system.
If a person still comes to an endocrinologist (as directed by another doctor or on his own initiative), he examines him, listens carefully to complaints. An experienced doctor can make a diagnosis by assessing the patient’s symptoms and appearance. He also prescribes a blood test to clarify the level of various hormones, other tests. Assigns an ultrasound of a gland that has come under suspicion. Then, when the cause of the disease is established, the doctor prescribes treatment, hormones to restore the imbalance, advises what should be changed in your lifestyle, diet, etc. The fate of a person depends on the right treatment. For example, if a lack of growth hormone in a child is not noticed in time, dwarfism may develop. And, conversely, with its excess, a person grows so much that growth becomes too large (gigantism). Endocrinologists usually specialize in a specific range of problems. Someone specializes in diabetes (diabetologists), others in adrenal pathologies, others in neuroendocrinology (they deal with diseases of the hypothalamus and pituitary gland: diabetes insipidus, gigantism, acromegaly, dwarfism, etc.), the fourth – in diseases of the thyroid gland, etc. etc., etc. Pediatric endocrinologists work with children.

Chinese warlord
Peng Dehuai was born in Xiangtan
Hunan province. In his military
biography reflected history
Chinese revolutionary movement and
wars in his own country.
He joined Chinese early
revolutionary movement. In his youth, Peng
Dehuai did a lot
self-education, most attention
giving history of military art.
With good organizational
abilities and knowledge of military affairs,
he quickly advanced to the command
positions in the revolutionary troops,
made up mostly of illiterates
poor peasants.
During the Northern campaign of 1926-1927
he was already in command of the regiment. Being
supporters of the left, in 1928 he joined
a member of the Chinese Communist Party.
In the same year, 1928, Peng Dehuai was
appointed commander of the 5th Army
corps, the first connection of the Chinese
Red Army, and in 1930 – the commander of the 3rd
army group.
Peng Dehuai’s Commanding Talent
revealed at the very beginning of the civil
wars in China.
In the campaign of the Chinese Red Army on
north Peng Dehuai led the vanguard of the 1st
front commanded by Zhu De.
Moved with army troops
and a column of government offices
and the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China. By December 1934, the
four lines of Kuomintang
fortifications, several
large rivers and overcome a number of mountain
ridges. However, to create a new Soviet
the area south of the Yangtze River failed due to
strong enemy pressure.
When the Red Army came to the city
Zunyi in Guizhou province, in its ranks from
original 80 thousand people
only 35,000 soldiers remained.
It was not possible to break through further to the north, and
then began the march to the west,
Yunnan province, bypassing the main forces
Kuomintang army.
After a successful crossing of the river
Yangtze troops of the 1st Front joined with
forces of the 4th front, marching from Sichuan-Shensi
revolutionary base. On August 1935 years old
the withdrawal of the Red Army began
border region of Shaanxi and Gansu,
which was defended by revolutionary
troops under the command of Gao Gang and
Liu Ji-dan.
Campaign of the Chinese Red Army to the north
completed in autumn 1936. AT
liberated border area
Shaanxi-Gansu-Ningxia was established
main base for subsequent military
action against the Chiang Kai-shekists.
On that trip, Peng Dehuai is close
met Mao Zedong
actually acting
Chairman of the Military Committee of the CPC Central Committee.
This acquaintance largely predetermined
the fate of Peng Dehuai. When in the guide
CPC in 1935 began the struggle for
leadership between Zhang Guotao and Mao
Zedong, commander of the 3rd Army
the group took the side of the latter.
The Northern Expedition became an important milestone in
military biography of Peng Dehuai
only from a purely military point of view.
Experienced military leader, authoritative
among the soldiers, first introduced into the
Central Committee of the CPC, and already through
year, in 1935, was elected a member of his
Political Bureau.
During the National Liberation
Chinese People’s War 1937-1945
against the Japanese invaders Peng Dehuai
was deputy commander of the 8th Army.
During the war against the regime of Chiang Kai-shek
in 1945-1949, Peng Dehuai served as
commander and political commissar of troops
People’s Liberation Army of the Northwest
China.
Subsequently, Peng Dehuai occupied a number of
high state and party
posts. He was deputy
Chairman of the People’s Revolutionary
military council and chief
General Staff. Then a member
Central People’s Government,
chairman of the administrative council
Northwest China, secretary
Northwest Bureau of the CPC Central Committee.
A new page in the commander’s
biographies of Peng Dehuai became Korean
war. From 1950-1953 he commanded
million Chinese volunteers in this
country. Initially, the PRC handed over
Korean People’s Army, operating
against the army of South Korea, American
troops and UN troops, two divisions,
consisting of persons of the Korean
nationalities living in China.
Then they began to arrive in North Korea and
other Chinese volunteer
troops. Participated in the Korean War
about 26 thousand Soviet specialists,
which were mainly part of the 64th
special fighter aviation
corps.
Chinese volunteer troops under
under Peng Dehuai’s command since the summer
1950 participated in all major
offensive and defensive
operations in the Korean War.
From September of the same year under
commanded by Colonel General Peng
Dehuai were 2 army groups,
including 30 infantry and 4 artillery
divisions of the PLA. Chinese nomination
divisions started another 19October and became
a complete surprise for
American command led by
General MacArthur.
In the second half of 1951,
peace negotiations between the warring parties. Besides
time in North Korea
there were already 40 Chinese divisions
volunteers. Participated in the negotiations
and commanders-in-chief, including
Colonel General Peng Dehuai.
Negotiations were constantly interrupted, and in
these intervals were renewed by the opponents
active hostilities to provide
power and moral influence on each other
friend.
July 27, 1953 at 10 o’clock in Korean
Time in Panmenjeong side
signed a ceasefire agreement.
The 38th parallel divided Korea again into
two conflicting parts.
Colonel General’s last military task
Peng Dehuaya in Korea has become an exchange
prisoners of war with command
interethnic forces of the UN, more precisely – with
American. He handed over to the opposite
side 12,756 prisoners of war. In exchange it was
received 75,823 prisoners of war, among
of which there were more than 5 thousand Chinese.
In 1955, Peng Dehuai was promoted to
Marshal of the People’s Republic of China.
Since 1954, he has simultaneously held posts
Deputy Prime Minister of the State
Council of the People’s Republic of China, Vice Chairman
State Council of Defense and
Minister of Defense of the People’s Republic of China, Deputy
Chairman of the Military Committee of the CPC Central Committee.
That is, he was among those close to Mao
Zedong.
Peng Dehuai’s downfall began at 1959 year
when he opposed Mao Zedong
Lushan (8th) Plenum of the CPC Central Committee,
reasonedly criticizing him
internal politics. In response to this
Mao’s supporters accused the military
minister in anti-party activities.
Peng Dehuai was removed from all his posts
and during the Cultural Revolution
1966-1969 were subjected to cruel
persecution.

Beginning from the cosmic chaos, astrophysics will delineate the foundation goals of the field by tracing the evolution of the universe from its origins through to modern times and probing into its future fate.
Students will delve into the depths of the cosmos to push their understanding to the very frontier of the unknown, and perchance beyond that! Students embarking on this adventure will be introduced to the wave-particle duality of light, radiation, and stellar evolution, illuminating their curiosities in the process. They will then explore advanced topics in cosmology such as supermassive black holes, spacetime fabric, and mapping the large-scale structure of the cosmos. Studies will culminate with Einstein’s Theory of Relativity.
The curriculum is supported by computational simulations of dark matter and galactic formation, physical demonstration, student-led discussions, and thought experiments. Observational astronomy will be interlaced into the course using solar and night sky observational telescopes, focusing on techniques for identifying the constellations and naked-eye astronomy. Students will pursue their final research in a self-selected specification of interest. Projects vary but are all relevant to modern professional research and exploration, such as observational astrophysics, astroparticle physics, or physical cosmology. Their final research projects will incorporate real data from working telescopes and research laboratories.
For Summer 2022 students may select from three versions of this course:

Education Unlimited believes in small-group, immersive learning with subject matter experts and experienced teachers. We strive to provide industry-leading instruction to all of our students and hold all staff to the highest possible standards. Staff assignments vary by program and location. Some of our recent staff members for this program include:
Micol Chirstopher, PhD – Instructor
Dr. Micol Christopher received his undergraduate degree in Physics and Astronomy/Astrophysics at Harvard University where he graduated Summa Cum Laude. He subsequently completed a Ph.D. program in Astrophysics at the California Institute of Technology (Caltech) where his research focused on analyzing young star clusters both around the black hole at the center of our galaxy and in the colliding galaxy system known as the Antennae. Even from his time at Harvard, Micol knew that teaching was his true passion, so after Caltech, he began teaching Astronomy at Mt. San Antonio College, a two-year college in Walnut, California. He has been a tenured full-time professor there since 2006 and has taught introductory astronomy and astronomy lab classes to well over 2000 students. Micol also created online versions of both the introductory astronomy class and the astronomy lab class and has been teaching some classes online each semester since 2014. Micol absolutely loves teaching and the opportunity to share the passion that he has for astronomy and learning with all of his students. In his spare time, Micol enjoys outings and adventures with his young son, taking hikes in the Southern California mountains, traveling, and experiencing foods from all cultures.
Allen B. Davis, PhD – Instructor
Dr. Allen B. Davis received his PhD in astrophysics from Yale University in 2021. His dissertation explored novel uses of statistical techniques to aid in the detection of potentially habitable exoplanets, and it presented the discovery of two new giant exoplanets detected by the TESS mission. Teaching is Dr. Davis’s greatest professional passion. He has five years of experience teaching undergraduate astronomy students at Williams College and Yale University, and he has served as a full-time high school physics and math teacher at the International School of Boston for the past year. Dr. Davis loves incorporating astronomy into his classes wherever possible; he takes great pleasure in seeing his students light up as they come to understand complex topics when they are broken down and presented in an accessible way.
Gladys Velez Caicedo – Instructor
Gladys Velez Caicedo is an instructor in the Department of Physics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). A graduate of Columbia University in New York City, Gladys holds a Bachelor of Science degree in astronomy & physics. Gladys has conducted high energy particle astrophysics at various labs around the world, such as Nevis Laboratories and as part of the VERITAS collaboration. Gladys developed a passion for high school education during her college years. While at Columbia, she established the Columbia Education Studies Program in 2011, designed to give high school students wide-range access to university education. Gladys joined the Education Unlimited team in 2017. She has developed the curriculum for both the astrophysics and introduction to astrophysics programs.
3 Week Academic Summer Camps
Please note: Beginning for summer 2022, students should apply to programs and select courses based on the grade they will enter in fall of 2022.
The 3-week Academic Day and Residential Camps welcome applications from pre-qualified applicants as well as New Scores and Portfolio applicants. Before beginning the online application, determine which type of applicant you are based on the descriptions below.
Applications are submitted through MyCTD. Applicants are encouraged to apply early; many courses begin to fill by mid-March. Applications are reviewed in the order in which they are completed. Incomplete applications do not “hold a spot” in the desired course. Once you have made a payment and submitted the application you will receive an email with further instructions. You will then be able to return to the application and select View Application Details to upload any necessary documents and to get the teacher recommendation link, if necessary. If you determine you have applied using an incorrect method, please email [email protected] as soon as possible. Applying with an incorrect method will delay your application and could result in not obtaining a seat in your first-choice class before it fills to capacity.
Pre-qualifed Review Applicant
You are a pre-qualified review applicant if you meet bothof the following criteria:
You have successfully completed a CTD course at the same, or more rigorous tier (Emerald, Magenta or Indigo), within the previous two years.
You are now applying for a course with the same qualifying subject area (Verbal, Math, or Science) as the CTD course you previously completed.
Please note: course eligibility requirements vary by grade level and type of course (enrichment versus accelerated). Please see the eligibility section and check the course descriptions for details.
New Scores Applicant
You are a new scores applicant if you meet eitheroneof the following criteria:
You have not attended any CTD program for the past two years and you have qualifying test scores (Verbal, Math or Science) for your desired course that are no more than two years old.
You have previously completed a CTD course, but you are now applying for a course with a different qualifying subject area (Verbal, Math, or Science) and you have qualifying test scores.
New Portfolio Applicant
You are a portfolio applicant if you do not have qualifying test scores because you have either:
never taken a nationally normed standardized achievement test or above-grade-level test, OR
taken this type of test but not achieved a qualifying score.
An Admission Portfolio includes the following documents:
Required: one teacher recommendation form (available once you have submitted your application) indicating that the student is performing 1½ to 2 years above grade level in the subject area of the course to which the student is applying;
Required: most recent school transcript or report card indicating exceptional performance in the subject area of the course to which the student is applying;
If available: most recent standardized testing report (e. g. NWEA/MAP) or results of a state grade-level assessment.
Please note: Beginning for summer 2022, applicants should apply to programs based on the grade they will enter in fall of 2022.
Because applications are accepted on a continuous basis, courses that are listed as available may close before a student’s application is complete and comes up for review. We strongly suggest listing second and third choice courses on applications. Applications are processed and reviewed by Admissions staff when all necessary documentation has been provided through the applicant’s MyCTD account.
It can take up to a week for our staff to first review newly submitted applications as well as any documentation provided to complete an application later. Until our staff has verified documents, they will not yet be marked as received in MyCTD. We kindly ask you to not call nor email our office to confirm receipt of documentation or application items within a week of submitting them.
It may take 2 to 4 weeks for an admissions decision to be made once the application is complete. You will receive an email once an admissions decision has been made.
Accepted Students
Accepted students will receive admissions materials via email two to four weeks after their application is complete. Enrollment information will include a link to information regarding housing and travel details, a packing list, required health information, as well as program rules and policies. This information will be available in late spring.
Deadlines
The application period for 6-12 Academic Summer Camps will close Monday, June 20 for Session 1 and Thursday, July 7 for Session 2, 2022. Applications must be submitted AND completed by this date to be considered for enrollment.
Residential space may be limited.
After May 16, 2022, tuition increases by $100.
Applications submitted after June 1, 2022 must be accompanied by full tuition payment.
The most interesting camps in Russia | Compasskids
Schoolchildren want to organize summer holidays with maximum benefit and comfort. It is important that the summer school brings not only health benefits, but also forms a creative intellectual environment and gives space for personal development.
Summer camps and visiting schools come to the aid of children and adults. In recent years, they are experiencing a new boom: there are more than 800 state institutions in our country alone. Private organizations also have summer educational projects.
Now they not only have a rest here, but also get useful skills. Programming and robotics, languages and mathematics, travel, creativity and scientific experiments – you can join all this by going to the summer camp for one or even several shifts.
Let’s figure out which camps are really worth going to this summer. If you and your parents have already chosen a vacation spot, it’s time to book a trip while there are still places.
Sea camps
1. International Children’s Center “Artek”, Yalta
This camp is valued not only for its unique history, but also for its impressive history. The camp operates all year round, and the winners of various competitions are still awarded a trip here. In “Artek” they study politics, programming, economics, social science, ecology, the basics of tourism and many other sciences and practices.
2. Orlyonok All-Russian Children’s Center , Tuapse

3. VDC “Ocean” , Primorye
At the other end of the country, in the Primorsky Territory, on the Pacific coast, there is another wonderful children’s camp – “Ocean”. Reviews about this camp remain enthusiastic. Teachers and camp leaders each time come up with a new individual program with a specific theme. Tigers and whales, the depths of the Pacific Ocean – an unforgettable atmosphere of creativity and kindness reigns in this camp, which gives children the brightest impressions and sets the vector of success in their future life.
4. Compass Camp , White Sea
The shift at the White Sea lasts 10 days. During this time, children get acquainted with northern nature, taiga and tundra, with the White Sea ecosystem, learn about the ebb and flow, and how they affect its flora and fauna, study marine fauna, morphology and ecology of mass species.
5. United Camp, Sochi
