Description: ABC Daycare & Learning Center opened its doors in St Charles County, Missouri in 1990. ABC’s goal is to give every family that attends our schools a sense of pride and a satisfaction about having their children enrolled with us. We want your children to know how special they are in this world and how special they are to ABC. Our Center’s policy is to provide each child with a loving, safe, secure environment with a “home away from home” atmosphere- a place where they can go each day to grow and learn to the best of their ability. ABC provides care for children starting at age 6 weeks and continues to nurture and educate through age 12 years. Our daily schedule includes age appropriate pre-school activities, to develop their fine and large motor skills. Your children will be introduced to a foreign language, creative art, science, math and the latest technology in computers and smart boards. ABC will help the children develop manners, how to share and be nice to their friends while using positive reinforcement in the learning process. ABC Daycare & Learning Center will always put your child and their education first.

When to look for a part-time job
You still have energy and free time after your main job, and also have days off, part of which you are ready to spend in tasks.
You have set a financial goal that inspires and motivates you to do more.
You have knowledge and skills that are of interest to more than just your employer. For example, you are often approached by former colleagues and acquaintances with requests related to your professional experience.
Your main employer does not impose requirements related to additional employment (for example, some civil servants have such restrictions).
Your family and loved ones are ready to support you.
You have skills that, for a number of reasons, are not in demand at the main job. And you want to find an opportunity to realize your potential and formed competencies as fully as possible.
To summarize the reasons: you want to increase your income, but your main job does not allow you to do it. Either the income suits you, but you want more realization. Indeed, these are strong arguments in favor of additional classes.
Remember that in an effort to improve your financial situation or expand your competencies, it is important not to forget about work-life balance – free time is given to us for a reason. And part-time work should not occupy 100% of leisure time, it is necessary to rest. It is not for nothing that the topic of emotional burnout was heard in professional communities throughout the past year. After all, even very interesting and exciting work in large volumes can deplete human resources. The second job should not exhaust us, because it will affect the performance of the main employment.
If you have an irregular working day or your employer occasionally sets tasks after the conventional 19:00. Even a small part-time job means deadlines, obligations, and responsibility.
If you have small children and do not have reliable “insurance” in the form of a nanny, grandparents or other relatives who are ready to help if the baby is not feeling well.
If you have recently had a change at work (transfer, new manager, new project) or you have just joined the company. Adaptation always uses more resources than our usual activities, and part-time work in this sense can play a cruel joke – it will take away strength and energy when you need it most.
Of course, there are those who successfully juggle their work schedule even in the presence of these factors. But here it is worth thinking about yourself and whether you need to take on increased obligations right now? After all, there will always be additional employment, but health and well-being are more whimsical quantities.
The peculiarity of this format is that you yourself determine how many hours you are willing to spend and how much reward you want in return. For example, such vacancies can be found in the “Part-time jobs and weekends” section on hh.ru.
Maria, recruiter (main job) + career coach at a programming school (part-time job). “I help the guys to write a competent resume, prepare for an interview, tell them where and how to look for vacancies. The side job takes a few hours a week (online), plus I come to school on weekends when there are some general activities. Over the past months, I’ve seen a lot of recruiters fail to keep up with the workload. The needs of the teams are only growing, and there are no more candidates. It seems to me that a part-time job saves me – I get a lot of thanks and positive feedback. She also closed several vacancies thanks to the contacts she got at school. But I’m not ready to go full-time here: I’ll lose a lot in money.”
Most often, such offers can be found through acquaintances and colleagues who already know you in business.
Olga, business coach (main job) + curator of TED speakers, public speaking expert (additional income). “I worked as a training manager for a company and many of my colleagues liked what I do: my programs, my approach. When they left, they often asked me to conduct some kind of training or education for their new team. Actually, this additional employment came from this.
At some point, I realized that my main job could not give me everything that is important to me. For example, I really like the TED format, but I can’t implement it anywhere other than TEDx projects. I began to write to the organizers of these conferences, offering my help. And they came into my life.
All my additional activities (trainings, writing texts, help in preparing speeches) enhance the product that I then offer to clients. For example, I work as an in-house public speaking coach and also as a mentor at TEDx – this enriches my list of tricks plus gives me the opportunity to work with different people. The fact that I write texts then helps me to read deeper into the speeches of my clients and edit them. The fact that I teach at the university seems to have everything in common. Therefore, I do not even divide it into separate classes, this is some kind of one big deal. Money is just a nice bonus: I, of course, like to earn money myself and feel in demand.
For example, you dream of changing your profession, but you are worried about whether it will work out? And what are the pitfalls, what is important to pay attention to? In this case, a side job will help test a new career hypothesis, but your main income will not sag. Such vacancies can also be tracked in the “Part-time jobs and weekends” section on hh.ru, as well as in our specialized telegram channels.
Maxim, Lead Java developer + JavaScript/Java mentor (additional income). “Last year I moved to the company and faced the fact that in a short time I had to learn a new platform for me. Of course, I had colleagues who I could turn to, but I didn’t want to go to them with completely stupid questions. The way out for me was to work with a mentor. I found it in an online training center, the cost of the sessions suited me. Literally in four meetings, I began to feel much more confident and was even able to suggest some good improvements.
Probably from that very moment I began to think that my knowledge and experience could be useful to someone. This year I had a gap between projects, and for the sake of interest I filled out a questionnaire on one of the sites (on IT mentoring). Then there was an online interview – and a trial month of mentoring.
I like that I regulate the load myself – I can not hire anyone at all (as, for example, in June, when there was an important release), I can work with five people at once. I have plans for team leadership: I am sure that such a learning experience will help me improve my skills as a mentor and prepare (at least partially) for this role.
But Galina, a leading specialist in interbank operations, was able to insure part-time work from a rash transition. “For several years I had a dream – to go to work in some flower shop, instead of numbers to do beauty. Composition, flowers, smiling people – everything that is as far as possible from the bank. I took courses and decided to try my dream “in practice”. And it’s good that this happened before I wrote the application!
Firstly, not every client needs compositions. Secondly, the work itself is quite hard and tiring. Thirdly, in a bank, there is still a certain level of communication. In general, two days was enough for me, and I can make bouquets for the soul!”
Remember that self-realization is one of the most powerful sources of self-confidence. We wish you that your workplace was just like that. And this is employment, additional or all together – it’s up to you.

Research: those who live paycheck to paycheck risk dying prematurely
Health
Unfortunately, the lack of money can really shorten your life. Especially if you are not only poor, but also do not have a permanent job.
March 2, 20235

They say money can’t buy life and health. In a sense, this is certainly true. However, poor people with consistently low wages do run the risk of dying prematurely—and this has been proven by scientists.
There are quite obvious facts: if a person earns little, he cannot afford good food and timely medical care – there is no time to register with state doctors, you can’t save enough on private money. However, researchers at the Mailman School of Public Health at Columbia University in New York decided to take a longer-term perspective and find out how low wages and the risk of premature death are related. Their final work was published in the journal Jama Network .

For analysis, scientists used a sample of 4002 US residents aged 50 to 57 years. Each of them worked for at least three periods in 1992-2004 and 1998-2010. All these people participated in the study of the health of pensioners until 2018.
In addition, during the study, scientists took into account socio-demographic factors, gender and diagnosed diseases.
Of the entire sample, 718 people experienced precarious employment in one way or another. 366 people received a small salary, 1288 earned little from time to time, and 2358 lucky ones never received enough money in their lives.

As a result, the analysis, taking into account socio-demographic variables, showed: consistently low wages are directly related to higher and excess mortality. Precarious employment, by the way, also has a bad effect on human health: the risk ratio, according to scientists, was 2.18 versus 1.17 for those who received a modest salary and had a stable source of income. It is logical to assume that the combination of these factors can have an even more terrible effect.
The authors of the paper note that if this relationship can be considered causal, then it is quite possible to improve mortality rates with the help of competent social and economic policies.

I have been a caregiver for Labs, Golden Retrievers, Rottweiler mixes, Labradoodle, Shih Tzu, Lhasa Apsos, King Charles Spaniels and Jack Russell Terriers and many other breeds. I have also cared for Guinea Pigs and even a Bearded Dragon! (To my surprise, he turned out to be a favorite!) I bring inmail, carry out trash, switch on lights, open and close drapes, water plants; whatever I can see that needs to be taken care of, as well as what you specifically ask for me to do. I have had Canine First Aid training and am a member of Pet Sitters International. I am a compassionate caregiver for your older companions (the seniors just melt my heart) as well as the babies. I have had my own problems trying to find a loving caregiver for my animals in the past and that is part of what my decision to become a pet nanny was based on. Your pets will be comfortable and cared for in their normal environment the way that you would care for them. That is my promise to you and your pets!…

How to take good care of your pets
Feeding your pet and buying toys is not enough to take good care of your pets. Domestic cats and dogs need vitamins, a balanced diet, vaccinations, and protection against parasites. For the proper maintenance of a pet, you need to purchase special items for caring for animals. Hair brushes, nail cutters, shampoos, preparations for eyes and ears, toilet products, dental care kits. Constant supervision and care helps prevent health problems that cause stress for both the pet and its owners.
Household toilet
Large breed dogs can be walked outside, but cats, pugs, toy terriers and other small ornamental breeds, as well as old and sick animals, will need a litter box. Fillers are divided into two types:
Clumping: after getting wet, the granules stick together into lumps that are easy to remove with a scoop. A complete replacement of the contents is carried out every 5-7 days.
Absorbent: The fill gets wet, retaining moisture and remaining soft. The tray should be cleaned regularly, completely changing the material.
For cats and small dogs, wood pellets made from conifers are suitable. Wet areas are broken down into small particles, continuing to retain an unpleasant odor. They should be removed by sprinkling fresh filler.
Manufacturers produce materials based on clay, minerals, crop residues, corn and cellulose. Before buying a toilet for a pet, be sure to read the instructions.
Clumping materials are not suitable for keeping kittens. Curious pets often taste unusual foods. Once in the stomach, the clay will stick to the wall and swell, which can cause pain or death.
How to take care of your pet’s coat
The coat of dogs and cats performs a thermoregulatory function and protects the skin from external influences, so pet grooming is a mandatory procedure. Failure to follow simple instructions leads to dermatitis, inflammation, depression and other health problems. In order to properly care for domestic dogs and cats, you need to follow simple rules:
Bathing . Pets, often walking on the street, need regular water treatments. Pets are bathed less often, but they also need an occasional bath. Such care allows you to control the condition of the coat, and special shampoos for cats and dogs maintain a healthy skin condition. Read the instructions before using the product.
Brushing out . Pet hair care allows you to normalize thermoregulation, improve blood and lymph flow, and protect against damage to the skin. Not only pets with long hair, but also short-haired breeds need periodic combing. If you do not remove the undercoat, it will accumulate and interfere with normal skin respiration, turning into an environment for the development of parasites. Long-haired cats and dogs are combed at least 4 times a week. Short-haired pets need grooming at least once a week.
Shearing and trimming . Hairdressing care for pets with long hair should not be stressful, so before a haircut, a good hairdresser tries to find an approach to restless four-legged animals. Trimming is necessary for dogs with a non-shedding short undercoat. Some long-haired breeds need partial plucking. Such care is practiced by the owners of Afghan hounds, black terriers and representatives of other breeds.
Taking vitamins . Complete hair care should include special additives. Consult your veterinarian and read the instructions before giving the product to your pet.
Eye and Ear Care Instructions
Pet cats and dogs often have eye problems. They may be related to the characteristics of the breed or appear as a result of improper care.
Breeds with folded eyelids, such as the Shar-Pei, need moisturizing in the eyes. Read the instructions before using the product.
Pets with a flattened snout need to constantly wipe the area around the eyes to remove secretions.
Cats and dogs with long hair can injure the eyeball even during sleep. Such animals require the services of a groomer.
Good care and following product instructions will help protect your pet’s eyes.
Nail care
For pets that walk regularly outside, nail care is reduced to regular checkups. Domestic cats need constant care for the growing stratum corneum. For pets who do not leave the apartment, you can buy scratching posts. They need to be taught from the first days, otherwise the animal will adapt a chair, wallpaper or carpet for caring for its claws. If the scratching posts are not enough, you will have to cut the overgrown claws once every 3-4 weeks. For sphinxes and Persians, due to the rapid growth of the stratum corneum, the frequency can be once every 1.5–2 weeks.
How to care for the ears of cats and dogs
The following products are available for caring for the ears:
Sanitary napkins.
Cotton swabs.
Powders for long-eared dog breeds.
Fluids that dissolve stubborn dirt.
Pets are sensitive to improper care. Liquid products should not flow into the ears, cause allergic reactions and discomfort. Be sure to read the instructions before using the drug.
Animals depend on us, and there is no escape from that. It is in the power of each owner to make the stay of a four-legged friend in the house joyful.

Food poisoning in dogs
Every pet has probably experienced food poisoning at some point in their lives. If yes, then this is an unpleasant reminder that you can not eat spoiled food, always cook meat correctly, do not eat food after the expiration date.

Note on Frequency of Inspections
Centers, Group Homes, and Licensed Family Homes::
In 2014, legislation was passed that changed the number of unannounced visits from two per year to one per year in Child Care Centers, Group Child Care Homes, and Licensed Family Child Care Homes. As a result of this new law, you may see a decrease in the number of deficiencies listed on this website for these types of providers. Unannounced visits are still made in response to a complaint, and visits are scheduled with the facility during the re-licensing process, which occurs every two years.
Registered Family Homes:
Most family homes are registered, not licensed. In 2014, legislation was passed that allows Child Care Licensing to make one unannounced visit to these homes each year. As a result of this new law, you may see an increase in the number of deficiencies listed on this website for Registered Family Child Care Homes. Unannounced visits are still made in response to a complaint. Click here for an overview of each facility and the requirements they must meet according to state law.

Car fines must be paid on time: if you delay the fine by 2 months and 10 days, you will have to pay 3 times more. You can pay in different ways, but the leader, of course, is Sberbank. Why? When a client pays an administrative penalty through Sberbank, all payment data is immediately sent to the traffic police, which saves time – there is no need to go to the branch and show the receipt. Below we will analyze the payment methods provided by Sberbank, as well as highlight the pros and cons of each.
How to pay a traffic police fine through Sberbank with a commission
How to pay a traffic police fine through Sberbank without a commission
Payment of traffic police fines with a 50% discount through Sberbank Online
Let’s deal with “traditional methods” first.
Branch of Sberbank
Everything is very simple: come to the branch of Sberbank, give the operator a passport and a receipt or order, wait, give money, receive a check, leave. The only “pitfall”: if you do not have a receipt or a resolution, then the payment will be processed in a special form. For such registration, they will take a large commission – 15%.
Pluses: everything is very simple.
Cons: queues.
ATMs
The ATM allows you to pay for the violation using a plastic card. Commission fee – 1-1. 5%. Step by step instructions:
In the main menu: “Payments and transfers” -> “traffic police, taxes, …” -> “traffic police” -> “Fines”.
If there is a receipt or resolution , then click “Payment by receipt” and enter the Unique Accrual Identifier.
If there is no receipt , then click “Search fines”, enter the identifiers (numbers) of the driver’s license and documents for the car, and then select the existing fine (if there are none, the ATM will warn about it).
ATM will issue payment data: card number, date, type and details, amount. Check if everything is correct.
Click Next. A field for entering the amount will appear, it will already contain the desired number.
Click Next, then Pay.
Get a check.
Take the plastic card.
Pros: if there is a queue, it is small.
Cons: You can only pay by card.
Terminals
Terminals allow you to make various payments both by card and in cash. Commission – 1-3%. You can make a payment both according to the data from the decision, and according to the barcode in the upper left corner. Instruction for regular payment:
In the main menu, select the payment of an administrative fine.
We are looking for the traffic police unit that issued the fine in the list.
A form for entering data from the decision will appear. Enter.
Enter the amount to be paid.
Select the payment method (if the terminal allows you to pay for services by bank transfer).
If you can pay by card and you have chosen this option, insert it and enter your pin code. If you chose cash, insert the money into the bill acceptor. Note: if you “gave” the terminal more than necessary, you will be prompted to put the balance on the phone.
Complete the transaction, collect the check.
Instructions for payment by barcode:
Select “Payment by barcode”. This option will be either in the main menu or in “Payments by region”.
Bring the bar code to the scanner. If the scanner refuses to work, try turning the barcode a little and moving it in different directions. When it works, you will hear a signal, and information about the payment will appear on the screen.
Check the information if everything is correct.
Proceed to payment – select a method and insert a card -> enter a pin code or deposit money into a bill acceptor.
Confirm payment, take check.
Pros: you can pay with paper money, there are practically no queues near the terminals.
Cons: terminals are not available everywhere.
How to pay a traffic police fine through Sberbank without a commission
Alas, it will not work without a commission fee at all – in order to completely get rid of additional expenses, you need to pay to the traffic police, in cash. But you can reduce the commission fee to 1% – if you pay the fine through Sberbank Online. You can use Internet banking both using a smartphone and using the official website.
How to pay a traffic police fine through Sberbank Online
First – registration. You can register in several ways:
Via phone : send an SMS with the word “password” to the short number “900”, get a password, call the bank’s support service, get a login from the operator.
Through ATM : in the “Sberbank Online and Mobile Bank” section, click on “Get Sberbank Online login and password”, you will receive a receipt with login data. Below there is an option “Get a list of one-time passwords”, use it too (useful if you do not have SMS notifications connected).
Through the official website of Sberbank : go in, select “Registration”, enter phone and bank card numbers.
Through a bank branch : come to the branch and write an application for connection.
Please note: to get access to Sberbank Online, you need the Mobile Bank service, you can activate it at an ATM.
Internet banking can be used both through the application and through the bank’s website. The algorithm of actions both there and there is practically no different. The only significant difference is that the application allows you to use a QR code.
By order and receipt number (application and website)
Algorithm:
Log in to your personal account.
Find the services section.
Select “traffic police” in the section of the same name.
In the drop-down menu, click on “Payment by receipt”.
Enter the UIN in the window.
Click “Continue”, check the data.
We pay.
Pros: fast, no need to go anywhere, small commission.
Cons: none.
By QR code (application)
QR code is an analogue of a barcode, but it can be read from a regular smartphone (the main thing is that the camera works). QR codes are on every decision from the traffic police.
How to use it:
Open the application.
Go to “Payments”.
Select “Pay by QR or Barcode”.
Point the camera at the QR code. All code should end up in a rectangle in the application.
When the application reads the code, it will display all the information about the fine and the “Pay” button below.
Pay.
Pros: very fast.
Cons: you need a working chamber.
Free AutoPay service (app and website)
AutoPay is a feature of the Mobile Bank that allows you to make automatic financial transactions every month or when needed. The bottom line: you activate the auto payment function, set it up (specify the card and the date/condition), specify the monetary limit for the automatic operation – and when it becomes necessary (the time has come or the condition has come), Mobile Banking sends you an SMS: “Pay?”. You answer him “Yes” or “No” (with a special numeric code), and if the auto payment is approved, he immediately pays for the service or a fine.
Connection:
Log in to Sberbank Online.
Select “My Auto Payments” -> “Enable Auto Payment”.
Fill in the fields with settings.
Click Save.
If you need help (setting up auto payment is not the easiest process), you can always contact support.
Pros: payment in 1 action.
Cons: difficult to figure out the setting.
Payment of traffic police fines with a 50% discount through Sberbank Online
In 2016, the government introduced a promotion that applies to the whole of Russia: pay off the administrative penalty for traffic violations in the first 20 days and get a 50% discount. The promotion applies to the following fines : for speeding, for passing a traffic light or a traffic controller, for marking violations, for improper parking, for driving without documents, and so on. The promotion does not apply to : repeated violations (a violation is considered repeated if the previous one was less than a year ago), drunk driving, accident with victims, escape from the scene. Sberbank Online automatically takes into account the date of the fine, if less than 20 days have passed, you will be assigned a 50% discount.
How to print a check after paying a fine
There should be no questions about contacting the cashier/ATM/terminal – the check is issued to your hands immediately after paying off the fine. With online methods, things are a little more complicated. There are 2 options:
Printing a receipt through Sberbank Online . Go to your personal account, go to “Payments and transfers”, select “Transaction history” on the right, find the operation you are interested in, open it, find the “Print receipt” button below and click on it. This will require a computer. If a printer is connected, you can immediately send a receipt for printing; if not, you will need to save the receipt in .PDF format and print it somewhere else. Please note: the payment status must be “Executed”.
ATM receipt printing . You need to insert a card, select “Transfers and payments”, go to “Templates and auto payments”, find what you need to print, select “Operations” -> “Print”. The ATM will print the check.
How to pay for online services with a Turkish card. Detailed guide — comotose on DTF
Detailed instructions for paying for online services. From creating a virtual card and registering on the exchange to paying for services.

I must say right away that this method only works on the phone, because we use payment using Google Play
First, download the applications we need on Google Play 1. OlduBil is an application where we will make a virtual Turkish card. 2. Huobi is an exchange in which we will carry out transactions to replenish our card. 3. Fake GPS – through it we will change the geolocation to create a Turkish Google account. 4. Any VPN service in which you can put Turkey (For example Seed4. Me)
Purchase of lira through the exchange
Let’s start by registering with OlduBil. We go in and use our Russian or any other number of yours, if it does not work with the Russian number, then try to put the Kazakh one, it has the same prefix (+7). SMS to confirm the number may not come immediately, you should try again and wait 1-2 hours (SMS in OlduBil work very crookedly, I advise you to try every time at different times, for example, early in the morning or at night). And now you have a Turkish card!
Next, register with Huobi, I think you should not have any problems with this and do not need any instructions (And yes, you will not need to register an account with a passport or other documents, only a number) . After registration, go to the Trades category, select Fiat from the top, click on the P2P section, we need to buy USDT (Since you transfer the seller directly to the card, you can pay for everything with your RF card)
Trade>Fiat>P2P>RUB, Buy, USDT
We buy the required amount of USDT from any seller convenient for you and go to buy lira (TRY). But before that, you need to link your Turkish card to Huobi. We also go to P2P, click on the three dots on the top right (⁝), “Payment methods”, Bank card, in the full name we write our first and last name as registered in OlduBil, in the bank name we write “OlduBil”, in the card number, respectively, the card number with Oldubil. Ready. P2P, but changing categories and currency.
TRY>Sell>USDT
We sell our USDT for Lira and receive it on our card.
Subscription payment itself
Create a Turkish Google account under VPN and Fake GPS. In the account settings, we prescribe the data of our Turkish place of residence (naturally, we take it from the Internet). I use this site. Then add the map to your Google account.
We log out from all other Google accounts, in the phone settings we delete the data of the applications “Google Play Services” and “Google Play”.
Now that we have one Google payment account left, we can pay, for example, Discord Nitro, Spotify or Telegram Premium (By the way, you also need to go to your Spotify profile once under VPN into your account and change your region)
Note:
OlduBil has a top-up limit of 1250 Lira per month.

The most popular methods of payment for goods in Russia have become known
RBK.money and Data Insight agency conducted a joint study of customer behavior when paying for goods and services. The study examined the most popular payment methods in Russia, as well as the most common problems when using these methods. In total, analysts studied 9payment methods: online card payments on the site at the time of placing an order, card payments upon receipt of goods, cash, Internet banks (payment in the application or on the site), electronic wallets, Apple Pay and Google Pay mobile payment systems, payment terminals, systems fast payments and cryptocurrency.
For each of the methods, demand was studied in 14 different business segments. The study involved 1,602 people aged 18 to 64 from several regions of Russia, who over the past 30 days paid for purchases or services in one way or another.
Telegram and banks. How the new Roskomnadzor ban will affect digital transformation. Opinions of market participants
“In order to develop customer-oriented payment systems and design modern interfaces, it is necessary to have accurate data on how people are guided when paying for purchases, which causes them difficulty or even a desire to refuse to purchase at the stage of payment,” comments CEO of RBK. money Denis Burlakov. “By offering people the most convenient payment method for them, as well as providing multiple payment methods to choose from, online retailers and other companies can significantly reduce bounce rates and strengthen relationships with their target audience, who are used to paying for goods and services in a certain way.”
According to Data Insight agency partner Fedor Virin , this is the first comprehensive study of online payments, which covers not one or two, but a dozen and a half unrelated areas.
The survey was conducted in February-March 2020, before the start of the coronavirus epidemic and related restrictions. However, according to Denia Burlakov, the pandemic only made temporary adjustments to consumer behavior, and the trends in consumer behavior identified before it began can be called stable today. So, people usually use 3-4 different payment methods during the month, and almost a third of the respondents used five or more different payment methods during the last month. The most typical combination for 76% of respondents was a combination of online card payments and cash.
“We have already seen in our research that the development of online payments is a driver for the development of all existing online practices from online shopping and hotel booking to the charity donation lottery. Exactly so, and not vice versa, – comments the partner of the Data Insight agency Fedor Virin . – Having at their disposal a convenient, simple, secure payment tool, consumers are beginning to transfer their offline payments to the Internet. So users make their lives more convenient, and the cost of servicing payments is lower. The development of online payments is thus a driver for the development of a wide range of online technologies and online services.”
The undisputed leader is online payment by bank card: it is ahead of all other payment methods in most areas, and accounts for more than half of all payments. Only 9% of respondents have never made an online card payment at the time of payment for the order for the previous month. Users appreciate this payment method primarily for the high degree of data protection and for the speed of the payment.
The second most popular method is cash payment: in the month preceding the survey, 77% of respondents used it. Cash is especially in demand in the services of notaries, lawyers and other professionals, but is also actively used to pay for taxis. As part of the study, cash was the only payment method for which users did not report any problems, while other methods carry various risks: for example, the risk of canceling an operation, debiting funds without making a payment, security breach, and so on. Areas where cash is hardly ever used are paying for online games, online education, and content subscriptions.
The next most popular payment method is card payments at the time of receiving an order (for example, payment to a courier through a terminal): buyers appreciate this method for its convenience when paying for certain goods and services, high speed and security of payment. Thus, most often they pay for ready-made food at home, as well as tourist vouchers. However, when making offline payments, users often encounter technical errors and cancellation of transactions, as well as forget the PIN code, do not receive SMS with confirmations, and note the facts of debiting money without making a payment.
Internet banks are most often used for services that require regular payments – for example, they pay for mobile communications, Internet and utilities. Users appreciate this method for low commission, data security and convenience when paying for a certain type of service. In this way, people make many regular payments – alimony, intercom, transport cards, schools and kindergartens. At least a quarter of respondents regularly make payments for services in these categories for parents, children or other relatives. Among the problems of this method, users noted technical errors, cancellations of operations and the lack of SMS with confirmation of payments.
The use of electronic wallets is most typical for people aged 55-64 compared to other age categories, although in general it cannot be classified as widespread. This method is highly valued for its speed when making payments, convenience when paying for a certain type of service, data security and ease of replenishment. Electronic wallets are often used in cases where they do not trust the seller or do not want to enter bank card details, but technical errors and authorization problems are among the common problems.
The use of mobile payment systems (ApplePay, GooglePay, SamsungPay, contactless wallets) is popular among young people who actively pay for games and content subscriptions in this way. Mobile payment systems are also recognized as the most convenient means of payment due to their speed and ease of use. Interestingly, when asked about the disadvantages of various payment methods, users named mobile payment systems as the method with the fewest problems (with the exception of cash payment).
Payment terminals are most valued for their speed, and a small commission is also important for terminal users. Most often, online games and mobile communications are paid through terminals, while in other segments the share of using this payment method is quite low (less than 1%).
Fast payment systems and cryptocurrencies lag far behind the listed methods and are used relatively rarely, while men are slightly more likely to pay in this way than women. It is interesting that users named speed and a small commission as the advantages of fast payment systems, that is, the same advantages that terminal users appreciate. Fast payment systems are practically not used to pay for goods and services. Today there are only three segments where the share of such payments exceeds 1%: these are professional services for individuals, online games and mobile communications.
Studying how Russians make decisions about buying goods and services, the researchers found that the key decision-making factor is the availability of a convenient payment method (75% of respondents) and payment security (56% of respondents). These factors influence decision making more than discounts or free shipping.
The variety of payment methods offered depends primarily on the business segment: where different payment methods are available, the number of popular methods (taxi and ordering food) is growing. Thus, the sphere of ordering ready-made food demonstrates the greatest variety of ways, and the least – payment for air and railway tickets. The main factor when choosing a payment method is the size of the commission: 25% of the surveyed users first of all pay attention to this indicator, and among the remaining 53% names it as the second most important factor after data security. The presence of cashback or loyalty programs is almost not important for most users.
At the same time, the structure of payments in different segments differs markedly: for example, mobile communications and the Internet are most often paid for through electronic wallets and Internet banks, utilities – through Internet banks and in cash, and when subscribing to content, electronic wallets and mobile payment systems.
The study also looked at the reasons why people refuse to buy at the stage of making a payment. Among such reasons, people named the lack of a convenient payment method, the inability to return funds and the impossibility of deferred payment (freezing funds in the account until goods or services are received).

Bearded dragons can make excellent, entertaining, easy-to-care for pets if given appropriate care and veterinary treatment. The average bearded dragon’s lifespan is 8-10 years, but the oldest ever recorded was 18 years old. They are typically easy to handle, docile, and rarely bite.
Bearded dragons get their name from the scaled and spiked area below their neck, which can change colors and expand based on mood. This “beard” typically turns black and may enlarge when they are defensive or as a display to other beardies.
Wild bearded dragons are dust-colored, blending into their native desert background of Australia. It is not legal to bring wild bearded dragons from Australia, so all bearded dragons in the United States are bred in captivity. Through selective breeding, multiple color types are recognized, including bright yellow or orange variants, along with smooth-scale variants called leatherbacks.
Bearded Dragon Housing
Like many other exotic species, pet stores and companies produce items marketed for bearded dragons with little or no research that the product is safe. In some cases, the products are directly harmful to bearded dragons. Keep this in mind when purchasing supplies for your beardie—just because a product claims to be good for a bearded dragon doesn’t mean it always is! For example, many companies make sand as a bearded dragon substrate. However, this can cause gastrointestinal impactions and can even be fatal. Always check with your veterinarian about the products in your terrarium for safety!
Bigger is always better when it comes to enclosures for bearded dragons. Ten-gallon terrariums are only appropriate for short-term housing for juveniles or for quick transport of adults. A 75-gallon terrarium is the minimum size for an adult beardie. However, a larger terrarium is always advisable. Generally, an enclosure should be at least three times the beardie’s snout-to-tail length. Many bearded dragons are around 2 feet long, with males usually growing longer than females.
The top of the terrarium should be a screen top for proper ventilation. The sides can be glass or mesh, although full mesh is difficult to maintain proper temperatures. Acceptable substrates include tile, newspaper, indoor/outdoor carpeting, or reptile carpet. Avoid sand, fine gravel, wood chips, crushed walnut shells, or other substrates that could be ingested by a bearded dragon.
Some “bio-active” substrates can be used, but your dragon MUST have perfect husbandry (e.g., lighting, heat, diet, and humidity) or serious health issues could result. Very few beardie parents can properly maintain a bio-active substrate—it is much easier and healthier for your bearded dragon to use an easily sanitized surface, such as tile, to keep on the bottom of the terrarium.
Temperature
As reptiles, bearded dragons rely on their environment to regulate their internal body temperature. Therefore, in captivity, bearded dragon housing must create a temperature gradient providing a warm side, a basking area, and a cool side. At least two thermometers should be placed in the terrarium to ensure the maintenance of proper temperatures.
The cool end of the enclosure should have the thermometer an inch above the bottom. The thermometer on the warmer end of the enclosure should be at the level of the basking site. Daytime temperatures should be around 80-88 degrees Fahrenheit with a basking spot of 95-105 degrees. At night, the temperatures can drop as low as 70 degrees.
Ultraviolet Lighting
Ultraviolet light, specifically UVB, is essential to maintaining healthy bearded dragons. Without it, they cannot process calcium and vitamin D appropriately, leading to fatal conditions like metabolic bone disease. The best source of UVB is the sun, but special bulbs like Reptisun are typically used instead. Juveniles and ill or debilitated beardies may need a stronger source of UVB than adults. These fluorescent bulbs must be placed no less than 12 inches from the basking site to prevent burns. When using a UV bulb, a second bulb must also be used to provide proper heat gradients.
Another all-in-one option is an overhead self-ballasted mercury vapor lamp (Powersun, Zoo Med) which provides heat, UVB, and UVA in one bulb. Hot rocks or direct contact with heating elements or light sources should be avoided, as they can cause severe thermal burns.
Bearded dragons should be exposed to 12-hour photoperiods, which can be easily accomplished with timers. This means the lights should be on for 12 hours and off for 12 hours. Bearded dragons are active during the day, so this is when food, handling, and enrichment should be provided.
All bulbs that emit UVB/UVA must be replaced every 6 months—even if they still appear to work. Even though the bulb may emit visible light, the UVB fades in time. Alternately, you could also purchase a UV meter to monitor UVB output.
Humidity
A hygrometer is very useful to measure humidity. The humidity within the terrarium should be approximately 40-60%. While beardies live naturally in the desert, always keep fresh water in the enclosure to avoid dehydration. Provide a shallow water bowl for drinking; however, many bearded dragons get sufficient water from their diet and do not drink from bowls—don’t worry if you never see your beardie drink!
They may also soak and defecate in the drinking water, creating an unhealthy environment. Therefore, it is essential to clean the bowl frequently.
Some bearded dragons suffer from dehydration—not getting enough water in their diet or enclosure. Ways to successfully keep bearded dragons from becoming dehydrated include:
Giving showers or baths 2-3 times a week
Providing a shallow pan for soaking 1-2 times a week
Ensuring increased humidity in a shelter/hiding area
Rinsing dietary greens with water prior to feeding
Enrichment
Burrows, or hiding areas, should be available on both sides of the terrarium. This way, your beardie can choose if he is warm or cold and if he wants direct light or not. Bearded dragons are most active during the day and are adept climbers. In addition to providing the basking site and shelter/hiding area, the housing environment should include thick branches or rocks for climbing.
Bearded dragons are typically solitary creatures. Males should not be housed with other males, as fighting results in serious wounds. Males should only be housed with females if there is an intention of breeding.
Small treat balls with holes can be provided for stimulation and enrichment—greens and insects can be placed inside for the dragon to play with and eat. Their enclosures, hides, and climbs should be regularly rotated, as well.
Bearded dragons should not be allowed unsupervised free roam of the house, in order to prevent chilling, trauma, escape, ingestion of foreign materials (such as potentially toxic live plants), and the risk of spreading salmonella.
Foods for Bearded Dragons
Bearded dragons are omnivores—they eat a mixture of vegetables and animal protein. Juveniles are more insectivorous, with bugs accounting for a larger percentage of their diet. As they mature, their intake of greens increases, as does the size of their prey. Generally, insects should always be alive (not freeze-dried) and no larger than the size between the dragon’s eyes.
Fundamentals of your bearded dragon’s diet include the following:
Water should always be available in a shallow container and refreshed daily.
Insects should make up approximately 25% of the adult’s diet. It is important to offer a wide variety of insects, including crickets, dubia roaches, hornworms, phoenix worms, super worms, silkworms, mealworms, waxworms, butter worms, and grasshoppers. Make sure to rotate insects, so you’re providing different nutrients all the time. Freeze-dried insects do not have sufficient nutrients and are not recommended.
Insect gut-loading can improve your beardie’s overall health. Commercial feeder insects are frequently devoid of nutritious value. Therefore, feeder bugs should be given a nutritious over-the-counter diet at least 24-48 hours before feeding to the beardie. This is known as gut-loading and will provide essential vitamins and nutrients for your bearded dragon.
Vegetables for adults should compromise about 50-55% of the diet. Young bearded dragons may take time to acclimate to veggies, but it is vital to continue offering multiple varieties. Offer 2-3 varieties every day of dark, leafy greens including romaine, dandelion greens, turnip greens, mustard greens, beet greens, collard greens, bok choy, Swiss chard, escarole, as well as red leaf, green leaf, and Boston lettuces. Other vegetables can comprise around 20% of the diet including carrots, squash, zucchini, peas, broccoli, and butternut squash. Do not feed iceberg lettuce, due to the limited nutritional value.
Flowers such as hibiscus and squash blossoms are good treats in limited quantities.
Fruits such as strawberries, blueberries, melon, banana, and papaya can be fed sparingly as treats and no more than 5% of the diet.
Frequency in Feeding
Hatchlings may eat 2-3 times a day, while juveniles eat insects and vegetables daily. Adults may eat every 24-48 hours, depending on their body condition, which can be determined by your veterinarian. Most adults are overweight and likely need to be fed every 2-3 days, but work with your vet to determine an optimal feeding schedule.
Lightning bugs are toxic to bearded dragons and should never be offered. If your bearded dragon eats a wild insect, call your veterinarian to determine potential harm. Never feed your bearded dragon dog or cat food, and only use products made for bearded dragons or recommended by your veterinarian.
Insect Calcium & Multivitamin Dusting
Bearded dragons require additional supplementation of calcium, vitamins, minerals, and trace elements. This is crucial to maintain a healthy beardie, and inadequate supplementation will results in serious, even fatal, health conditions. Insects and vegetables can be dusted with a supplement containing calcium carbonate or calcium gluconate a few times a week (more if breeding). A general multivitamin should be offered weekly, as well. Repashy Plus provides both a multivitamin and calcium supplement in one product.
Insects or vegetables can be placed in a plastic bag, tin can, or “cricket shaker” and shaken gently with the vitamin or supplement. Juveniles may require daily supplementation, while adults may require less. Discuss frequency of calcium supplementation with your veterinarian, who will likely recommend annual bloodwork to check calcium levels and adjust calcium supplementation accordingly.
Bearded Dragon Medical Needs
Bearded dragons require minimal veterinary care when appropriately managed with the correct lighting, temperature, supplements, and diet. Beardies may need their nails trimmed every few weeks, which can be done at home with practice. At a minimum, bearded dragons should have an examination by a veterinarian every year to look at their teeth, evaluate body condition, and assess for metabolic bone disease. A fecal analysis should be checked for any intestinal parasites, and adult animals should have bloodwork performed to look at internal organ function and calcium levels.
Healthy bearded dragons have:
Alert attitude
Willingness to eat and bask
Upright posture
Clean vent
Well filled-out belly
Absence of swellings in toes or tail
Bearded dragons should have showers or soaks 2-3 times a week with warm water, for approximately 10-15 minutes each time. Many bearded dragons grow to enjoy this time, and it helps increase hydration and clean off any debris, shedding, or dirt from their body.
Like all animals, beardies are susceptible to infections and other illnesses. Common diseases seen in bearded dragons include:
Pet parents should monitor their beardies for depression, sunken eyes, weight loss, weakness, and loss of appetite. Call your veterinarian with any concerns.
Bearded Dragon Cleaning Needs
The terrarium should be spot-cleaned daily, including removal of old food, any bowel movements, and refreshment of the water dish.
Terrariums should undergo a more thorough deep-clean every week when the bearded dragon is not inside the enclosure. If using harsh chemicals, make sure to thoroughly dry the area before returning your beardie to his terrarium. Noxious chemicals may be irritating to a bearded dragon’s respiratory system, so ensure proper ventilation after cleaning.
Substrates should be changed based on the type. Tiles may last 6 months to a year, while reptile carpet may harbor bacteria, smells, and debris and may need to be changed every few weeks. Newspaper and paper towels should be changed as needed.
Bearded Dragon Handling
If there are other reptiles in the household, make sure to quarantine your bearded dragon at first, so you don’t introduce diseases. Your veterinarian can help determine the length of quarantine, but quarantine typically lasts 3-6 months.
To pick up a bearded dragon, scoop one hand under the chest near the front legs and support the tail with the other. Bearded dragons typically feel safer when held securely and close to the body. They may even want to sit on your shoulders to get a good view of their surroundings. New and young bearded dragons are fast and wily, so use extra caution when handling. Bearded dragons should spend at least 30 minutes outside of their terrarium a day. The more often they are out (without getting cold or away from their UVB bulbs too often) the more docile they can become.
Bearded dragons, and most reptiles, naturally carry salmonella, which is a zoonotic disease, or spreadable to people. Make sure to wash your hands before and after handling a beardie to prevent illness. Talk to your human medical provider if you are concerned about potential infection from your bearded dragon.

All About Finches and Canaries
By Laurie Hess, DVM, Dipl ABVP (Avian Practice)
If you are looking for relatively quiet, fairly easy to care for bird that is beautiful to watch and may even sing, you should consider a canary or a finch. Canaries and finches belong to the order of birds called passerines that includes thousands of different species, including wild songbirds. The identifying feature of this group compared with other birds is the arrangement of their toes, with three pointing forward and one back, to facilitate perching.
Both canaries and finches have been domesticated as pets for hundreds of years. They can make wonderful companions for families with children, as they don’t typically require the extensive handling and out-of-cage time that parrots require to live happily, and they don’t inflict the painful damaging bite that parrots can. Many of them, in fact, live happily with similar species in large enough cages and are shy about being handled. When given a large enough cage to jump and flutter around in, access to sunlight, and proper nutrition, these birds can make excellent family pets.
The History of the Finch
Within the group that makes up finches, there are several families of birds that comprise more than 140 species that are found in nearly every continent. Finches kept as pets are more often of the Family Estrildidae – the waxbills, weavers and sparrows. Finches come in a variety of colors and feather patterns, with perhaps the most common pet finches being the zebra finch, Gouldian finch, and society finch.
Zebra finches originate from the wild grasslands of Australia. They have black and white stripes over their chests – hence their name, “zebra.” Zebra finches are very social and typically do better when housed in pairs. They are generally active breeders. Usually friendly with other birds, zebra finches can sometimes act bold and dominant. Many of these birds recognize their owners’ faces and voices and respond with happy chirps and peeps. These finches are excellent choices for owners concerned about noise and limited space and typically live on average seven to ten years.
Gouldian finches are brightly colored, with the male exhibiting brilliant purple, yellow, green and turquoise feather patches that they use in an elaborate courtship display along with a complicated song pattern to attract the less colorful females. Gentle, calm, and with a relatively quiet song, Gouldian finches should be kept in pairs or groups. Like most finches, Gouldian finches typically prefer not to be handled but can be quite interactive and respond to the site and sound of their owners. On average, these finches live 8 to 12 years in captivity.
Society finches do not exist naturally in the wild but are a hybrid of two finch species first bred in China and India thousands of years ago. As they have been bred domestically for generations, they typically are one of the tamer finch species and may be trained to take food from a hand. They come in many color variations from all white to nearly all black. Most are some combination of brown and white. Unlike several other species of finch in which males and females look different, male and female society finches look the same. However, only males sing. They can live 10 to 15 years in captivity and even longer in some situations.
The History of the Canary
Canaries were initially brought to Europe by Spanish sailors and first bred in the 17th century. They are named after the Spanish Canary Islands and were valued by Spanish and English kings and aristocrats because of the ability of males to sing. Once the Italians and the British began breeding them, many different breeds arose, and these birds became popular pets all over Europe. In addition, during the early days of coal mining in the U.S., canaries were used as sentinels to alert miners to the presence of toxic gases, such as carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, and methane, in the mine, as canaries exposed to these gases would die before miners were affected.
Pet canaries generally fall into three groups. Color-bred canaries are bred to create many different feather color mutations including orange, bronze, ivory, onyx and the well-known red factor. This is in contrast to wild canaries that are typically yellow-green. Type canaries are bred for their body shape, including the Australian plainhead, Lancashire, Yorkshire, and very popular Gloster (with feathers covering their foreheads like bangs). Finally, song canaries are bred for their distinct song patterns, including the American singer, Russian singer and familiar German roller. Depending on species, with proper care, canaries may live 10 to 15 years in captivity.
Caring for Your Finch or Canary
While many finches are very social and are best housed in pairs or groups, canaries are successfully housed singly. Male and female canaries both may sing, but males are typically better singers. In order to stimulate a male canary to sing, which males do typically to court females, he must feel like he is in competition with another male. Thus, housing a male in the vicinity of another male (even without a female around) will typically stimulate male canaries to sing competitively during breeding season in the spring.
Although canaries and finches are small birds that don’t take up huge amounts of space, they do require a large enough cage in which to fly, and if pairs of groups of finches are housed together, the cage needs to be larger to accommodate a greater number of birds. The cage bar spacing should be small enough (generally no more than half an inch wide) to prevent the birds from escaping or getting their heads caught. Horizontally-oriented cages, rather than tall vertical ones, typically are better at facilitating flight. Wood perches should be small in diameter (typically 3/8 of an inch for finches to no more than 3/4 of an inch for canaries). Sandpaper or other rough-surfaced perches should not be used, as they can be abrasive to small birds’ feet. Cages should be kept in well-ventilated areas (away from cooking fumes and other aerosols) and in areas with plenty of direct sunlight. Having distinct daily light and dark periods is important especially to canaries to modulate hormonal cycles to get them to sing.
In general, finches and canaries do well at room temperatures comfortable to most people, as long as they are out of direct drafts, such as from air conditioners. Of course, cages should be kept safe from predators – including predatory cats and dogs living in the house. Some finches and canaries also enjoy size-appropriate toys such as swings, bells and other hanging toys placed in the cage so as not to hinder flight. While most finches are not hand tamed, canaries can learn to perch on a finger, and most finches and canaries will vocalize in response to the sight of their owners.
Like other birds, all newly purchased or adopted finches and canaries should be checked out promptly by a bird-savvy veterinarian after they are acquired and every year after that. As these birds are small and get dehydrated easily, any finch or canary that isn’t eating well or that looks fluffed up should be examined by a veterinarian as soon as possible. Common medical conditions in canaries and finches include feather cysts (more common in canaries; in this condition, which is typically genetic, a feather grows under the skin like an in-grown hair), “tassel-foot” (or the development of dry, scaly, tassel-like projections of skin on the feet and/or face in response to mite infection or severe vitamin A deficiency), barbering (in which birds, more often finches, will chew off feathers from each other’s heads when they are stressed from overcrowding), and occasionally air sac mites (in which birds breathe quickly with open mouths from mites living in their respiratory tracts). Birds with any of these signs should be seen by a veterinarian immediately.
What do Finches and Canaries Eat?
In the wild, finches and canaries eat a variety of vegetation, insects, worms, as well as some seed. They do not eat all-seed diets, as many uninformed finch and canary owners often feed their pets. Rather, pet finches and canaries do best when offered a mixed diet of limited seed, minced produce (such as leafy greens, berries, apples, pears, peaches, shredded carrots, peppers, squash and sweet potato), a fortified, nutritionally-balanced pellet appropriately sized to very small birds, and occasional protein sources such as cooked egg.
One trick to try to get these birds to eat different types of foods, rather than just seeds or just produce, is to offer a variety of foods minced up small on a paper plate that the birds have to stand on to eat. This encourages them to try new foods. In addition to food variety, cuttlebone (a calcium source) is essential for breeding and egg-laying birds, and all birds need fresh water daily. Spray millet can be offered as a treat from time to time but should not make up a significant part of the diet.
Where to Buy a Finch or Canary
Finches and canaries are available from reputable breeders and stores nationwide. Many also can be found in need of homes at bird rescue facilities. When looking to purchase a finch or canary, a prospective owner should look for a bright, active, vocal bird with sleek feathers an upright body position. Fluffed, hunched birds with closed eyes are typically sick.
When cared for properly, these personable little birds can be excellent pets for anyone who wants a fairly low-maintenance pet that doesn’t take up a huge amount of space and that may not love to be handled but offers joy in the form of song.

Top 10 Small Pets for an Apartment, Dormitory, Communal Apartment
Cats and dogs have always been and probably always will be the most popular types of pets. But there are situations when the owners cannot afford these pets, even if they really want to: the apartment is rented, and the owner is against it, no one is at home all day, etc. In this case, you should pay attention to exotic animals. They are quiet, they do not need a large space, and they generally tolerate a long separation from a person well. These 10 types are the best suited for apartments, living rooms and other small living spaces. nine0003

What pets can easily endure life in a city apartment and do not cause much trouble to the owner?
Contents of the article
Rabbits
There are about 50 rabbit breeds, and many of them are suitable for keeping as a pet. Rabbits are social animals that quickly become attached to humans, but do not need round-the-clock attention. Decorative rabbits are relatively quiet and easy to litter train, so if you leave your pet all day, you can be sure that there will be no problems. However, you can’t keep a pet in a cage all the time: rabbits need at least minimal activity – run around the rooms, stretch and play with the owner. But never leave the animal unattended, as rabbits love to gnaw and dig everything. nine0003
Ferrets
Ferrets are playful, friendly creatures that love to have fun with people and with each other. They make excellent pets, since most of the day, while the owner is at work, they sleep. Ferrets are most active in the evening, and this is where your schedules can match perfectly. But be warned: these mischievous critters love to play pranks and hide, especially in unsafe hiding places like an oven. So you have to watch carefully.
Rats
Don’t underestimate rats. Although the appearance of animals may cause dislike for many, rats are actually friendly and very intelligent creatures. Due to its small size and relatively easy care, a rat can be an ideal pet for a family living in a small apartment. Their needs are minimal: equipped cage 60x40x60 centimeters, filler and food. Rats quickly get used to people and like to sit on their shoulders and knees. The long absence of the owner does not bother them, since they sleep most of the day, waking up only briefly to eat or take care of themselves. nine0003
Hamsters
Apartments rented without pets usually allow hamsters. What harm can be caused by a pet that needs no more than half a meter of housing for life? Hamsters are almost perfect city pets. They are quiet, clean, unpretentious in care, they do not shed and do not cause allergies (almost never), they are easy to tame in hands with regular communication. Twilight hamsters, who are only active before bed and early in the morning, will only need to see you for a few hours a day. The main thing is to change the filler in time, make sure that the rodent has enough water and food, and provide him with minimal physical activity so that “fat is not tied up.” nine0003
Guinea pigs
Guinea pigs love to communicate with people, but also easily endure their long absence. During the day, your pet will not cause any inconvenience to the neighbors – although, of course, their trademark “week” can be loud. An enclosure for an animal will not take up much space: a cage 60-70 centimeters long is enough for rodents. You can compensate for separation from pets by walking in the evening – pigs love to wander around the house and nibble on something, so make sure that poisonous plants and wires do not meet on their way. nine0003
Reptiles
Reptiles are not as sociable as mammals, but they can make wonderful companions for people who enjoy contemplation rather than close contact with nature. Reptiles do not make noise and are relatively easy to care for. If you have never had a reptile in your house before, you can start with lizard species such as leopard gecko (eublefar), bearded dragon, anole and chameleon. Of the snakes, the corn snake, milk snake and ball python are considered the most unpretentious. nine0003
Hedgehogs
Hedgehogs do not need a large cage: a 60 x 90 cm aviary will suffice. Hedgehogs are nocturnal animals, so your pet won’t mind if you’re not home for most of the daylight hours. The animals do not make a lot of noise and do not cause allergies in people. But there are also disadvantages of keeping hedgehogs at home. Do not expect special affection and affection from a pet. Hedgehogs are solitary animals that generally do not need your attention, and if you insist, they can also bite. nine0003
Frogs
If you are looking for a pet to look at sometimes and not pick up at all, you should pay attention to the domestic frog. There are several species for which the conditions of the apartment are no worse than a pond covered with duckweed. Of the aquatic, these are the African clawed frogs, of the semi-aquatic, the eastern fire-bellied toad, of the arboreal, the American green tree frog, and of the large and sedentary, the Pacman frog. Exotic pets need little space, minimal care, and feeding only a few times a week. But frogs make themselves known and sometimes quite loudly, although only males “sing”, and even then not all of them. nine0003
Chinchillas
Chinchillas are small rodents with a playful disposition. They make good apartment dwellers because they are clean and almost odorless. They are nocturnal, so if you are not at home during the day, they will not miss you much. With careful handling from an early age, the chinchilla becomes attached to the owner and can behave gently and affectionately. It is interesting to watch chinchillas in general: they play funny and emit an interesting high-pitched squeal, which, however, may not always be a call for communication. You can find out why chinchillas squeal from our material. nine0003
Spiders
If you don’t have arachnophobia and generally have a positive attitude towards unusual pets, you might like the idea of having a pet tarantula. These spider giants are quiet and require little maintenance. They need to be fed every other day or two, so you can even leave your pet alone for the weekend. A noticeable minus of the content is the absence of any contact, since although the poison of a domestic tarantula is only slightly toxic, the bite can be very painful, like that of a bee. nine0003

A pet for a child: pros and cons
The first request of a child to have a pet is usually met with a refusal. Parents immediately begin to think about hair and the smell in the house, damaged things, the cost of food and veterinary services, infections, and if we are talking about a dog, about daily walks in any weather.
All this is true, but it is worth thinking about the positive aspects of the issue. The appearance of a pet will help the child:
learn responsibility. Explain to the child that in front of him is not a moving toy, but a living being that needs care. Caring for a pet, the child will feel more mature and independent;
develop empathy. Favorite will teach you to be friends, be kinder and empathize with others. The child will understand how to handle the animal with care, what he likes and what not to do. He will be able to extend this experience to communication with people; nine0092
reduce stress. When we stroke our beloved cat or play with a dog, troubles fade into the background. The pet will entertain when you are sad, get rid of loneliness, will not let you get bored and will never criticize;
to develop physically. Many parents don’t know how to make a family school student go in for physical education. Get a dog. The child himself will not notice how he learns to run fast and pumps up his arms;
make new acquaintances. nine0091 A pet will help your child expand their social circle. Dog lovers from neighboring houses will enter there. Or the guys from the group of snail breeders in Vkontakte. Or maybe his cat’s followers on Instagram.
Weigh the pros and cons, and you may come to the conclusion that a pet will do more good than harm.
And yet, in some circumstances it is better to give up the idea of having a pet.
For health reasons. If at least one member of the family has allergies, asthma, skin problems, do not provoke them. nine0092
If housing conditions do not allow. It is definitely not worth getting a large animal in a studio apartment or a communal apartment. But even in a small living space, if desired, you can find a place for a small cage or aquarium.
If you travel a lot. There are many beautiful photo collections on the Internet in the spirit of “my cat and I are in different parts of the world.” Unfortunately, in practice, pets greatly complicate any move. Frequent transportation will cause a lot of anxiety for both him and you. nine0092
If at least one family member is against. The appearance of an animal in the house should not become a reason for quarrels. You should not start a beast if someone in the apartment absolutely does not like this idea. Discuss different options with the whole family. You may be able to find an animal that will suit everyone.
If you are a fan of cleanliness. It will not be possible to maintain perfect order in a house where there is an animal. Therefore, if it is fundamentally important for you that the floor and clothes are always clean, you will not experience the joy of owning someone woolly or feathered. nine0083
Now let’s talk about which animal is better to have a child, based on its characteristics.
<>
Selection Criteria
Children often ask for someone specific: a cat, a dog, a giraffe… But if a child asks for “someone” or invents something new every day, you need to help him decide. When choosing, you should take into account:
child’s age
We do not recommend getting a pet for a child under four years old – it is unlikely that he will be able to consciously interact with an animal. Small children can inadvertently harm the animal or suffer themselves. In addition, the baby will not be able to fully take care of a new friend. nine0083
Parents must understand that the responsibility for the animal lies with them, not with the child. They must teach the child to take care of the pet and help him in every possible way. Sooner or later the moment will come when the child will not go for a walk with the dog, will not feed the fish. At first, the parent will have to control these processes. Do not tell your child that if he does not always take care of the pet, then you will give it to other people. The family should jointly decide when and whom to get, so that everyone takes part in caring for the pet, so that the child understands that this is a member of the family, and not his property, with which you can do or not do whatever you want. nine0083 Well, before getting a pet, of course, you need to tell your child about its features. What will you need to do and what difficulties will you have to face. Have your child do simple tasks around the house. If he treats the work in good faith, then he is ready to become the owner of the animal. If not, it is better to postpone this question. Anna Shiryaeva, psychologist, 8th grade mentor at Foxford Home School.
By the age of five or six, children can usually learn the rules for dealing with younger brothers. Explain in detail to the child how to behave with the animal, and how not, and why. And don’t leave them alone unattended.
From this age, you can have an aquarium fish, a parrot, a cat or a dog with a calm character.
Teach your child to take care of a pet from a small age – choose a task that he will take over. For example, walking the dog once a day or replenishing the bird feeder. nine0083
From the age of 12-14, teenagers are already independent enough to take care of any animal. If you manage to carve out time for this between studies, sections, hobbies and personal life. Therefore, before acquiring an animal for a student, make sure that he can give him enough attention.
child’s temperament
In order for the friendship between a child and an animal to be mutual and full, it is important that their characters coincide.
Restless and emotional children are best suited for a puppy. The dog will help the child to realize his energy in outdoor games and at the same time become more restrained: the training of the beast requires discipline from the owner. nine0083
If your child loves peace and quiet, take a kitten. You can play with it without getting up from the couch, and just wallow together. A dog is also suitable – with it the child will move more and be outside more often.
Fish, rodents or reptiles are suitable for a pronounced introvert – they do not require much attention and are interesting to watch. But if you are worried about the socialization of your son or daughter, a kitten would be the best choice.
possible allergies
Allergic reactions are sudden and unpredictable. Even animals that are considered hypoallergenic can cause them. There are cases of allergies even to the food of aquarium fish. Before you get a pet for a child, visit the owners of such a beast. If there were no unpleasant surprises – feel free to start.
family employment
No matter how the child swears that he will take care of the new friend, you should not flatter yourself: you will have to take care of the animal for the most part. So evaluate your strengths soberly. nine0083
Fish and reptiles require minimal care – they can be kept even by people who are not at home for several days. Rodents and birds require a little more attention – you need to communicate with them, regularly feed and clean the cage. Cats and dogs should only be adopted if you are willing to devote significant time to them each day. However, families at home schooling, as a rule, have such an opportunity.
pet lifespan
Most rodents live only two or three years. The death of a pet can be a huge shock to a child. nine0083
Therefore, it is better to have a long-lived animal for a child: a cat, a dog, a parrot or a turtle. Of the rodents, guinea pigs and chinchillas live for a long time. However, not a single animal is insured against an accident or illness. It is important to prepare the child for the fact that the pet will not stay with him forever.
It is worth telling the child right away about the death of a pet. Do not say that the animal ran away or got lost, so the child will blame himself and experience a false hope of returning. You should not try to replace the animal – the children are very attentive and will feel something was wrong. The child will experience vague anxiety, and not know what to do with it. nine0083 To make it easier for a child to cope with the loss of a pet, you need to let him say goodbye and bury the animal together. If possible, plant a tree or flowers on the animal’s grave. Of course, the child will be bored, and this must be talked about. So that he can grieve, cry. Don’t underestimate his feelings. The death of any pet, be it a dog or a fish, is an equally great loss for a child. Anna Shiryaeva, psychologist, 8th grade mentor at Foxford Home School. nine0164
Not the best choice
Before talking about which pets are best for children, let’s list the animals that are not recommended for a child:
Mustelids. Weasels, minks and ferrets look beautiful on a harness, but they are not easy to keep. In captivity, the animals often get sick, they are able to hide and spoil everything they can reach, and without attention they run wild in a couple of days. The same applies to any other animals from the wild – squirrels, foxes, hedgehogs or owls. Yes, there are a lot of videos on social networks of how cute they live in an apartment. But with a child, it is better to refrain from such experiments. nine0092
Exotic animals. Tropical reptiles, insects and reptiles usually require a lot of care: temperature, humidity and light levels must be maintained, feeding on a schedule. But that’s not the problem. As a rule, it is not important for a child how rare, expensive and unusual the pet is. It is more important for him that he be fluffy, warm and able to play. And this is definitely not about the fauna from the terrarium.
Some breeds of cats. Not all cats are ready to patiently endure the behavior of a child. For example, British, Abyssinian, Angora and Bengal cats are too independent and can react aggressively to children’s games. nine0092
Large and dwarf dogs. The most important rule when choosing a dog for a child is that he must be able to keep it. Giants like St. Bernards and Newfoundlands fall away immediately. Yes, they are good-natured and love children, but you can’t send a child for a walk with such a child. You should not go to the other extreme – decorative breeds like the Chihuahua and Toy Terrier are difficult to train and are unlikely to become a companion for a child.
Which pet is better to have a child
Now let’s take a closer look at the candidates for the title of a pet.
Rats
– Source: hvost.news Well tamed. Active, funny and smart.
Cons
Specific smell. They can ruin things.
Lifespan
Up to three years.
Decorative rats can be treated differently, but they become good friends for children. It is interesting to watch them, they can be picked up and even taught funny tricks: run on a comb, play ball, give a paw. But the high intelligence of the animal can turn against the owners – rats are very resourceful when it comes to escaping. And, left unattended, they are ready to gnaw everything that comes in their way: books, wires, writing accessories. Finding an escaped rat in an apartment is extremely difficult. It’s in your best interest to make sure the cage is securely locked. nine0003
Hamsters
Source: hvost.news
Pros
Cute, well tamed.
Cons
Need to bathe and trim nails. They lead a nocturnal lifestyle.
Life expectancy
Average 2–4 years.
Hamster breeds differ both in appearance and in temperament. You can choose a pet according to the nature of the child. For example, Siberian cats are fluffy, quiet, sleep a lot and can be alone for a long time. And the Dzungars are restless lively: they need entertainment and company. nine0083
A fluffy ball that diligently fills the cheeks with food is an inexhaustible source of emotion. Unfortunately, their age is short: even centenarians – Roborovsky hamsters – rarely live longer than 3.5 years.
Guinea pigs
Minuses
Not very active, shy.
Life expectancy
Up to eight years. nine0083
These cute rodents can sleep for hours or chew grass, and are always ready to help if they want. Stroking a guinea pig is a mutual pleasure for the owner and the pet. But it is important to remember that this is an animal with a fine mental organization. It must be handled very carefully, without sudden movements. It’s not even worth screaming in front of them – they are very scared and can get sick from stress. Guinea pigs may seem boring to some children: eating, sleeping and combing out – that’s the whole range of their activities. But they are affectionate and almost do not bite. nine0003
Chinchillas
Source: hvost. news
Pros
Fun, moving, pleasant to the touch. They live long.
Cons
Quite capricious and independent. They lead a nocturnal lifestyle. They can ruin things.
Life expectancy
Up to 20 years.
Chinchilla needs a lot of work, so it’s better for older kids to start it. But with proper care, she will delight you with a playful character for many years. The chinchilla will not sit on its hands for a long time, but you can and should play with it: roll a ball, hang a rattle in the cage. At night, it is better to remove all ringing and rattling objects from the cage. It is impossible to leave a rodent outside the cage unattended: wires and any wooden objects will be in danger. nine0083
These animals can live alone, but it is better to keep a couple – then they will definitely not get bored. Females are faster, males are more phlegmatic. If you do not want to mess with offspring, get two male friends. Females do not get along in the same room.
Fish
Source: 4lapy.ru
Pros
Do not create dirt and noise, soothe, decorate the interior.
Cons
Non-contact.
Lifespan
On average 5 to 12 years.
Fish watching calms hyperactive children and can keep a quiet child with an inquisitive mind busy for a long time. This is a good way to take a break from gadgets.
You might think that the fish have an exclusively decorative function, but in fact their maintenance is a fascinating science with many nuances. And the selection of accessories for the aquarium opens up scope for imagination and creativity.
Parrots
Source: hvost.news
Pluses
They live long, you can learn to speak.
Cons
Very noisy, not very contact.
Lifespan
10 to 80 years.
Many children like parrots: they are beautiful and active, doing funny tricks and imitating the sounds they hear. In addition, it is not very difficult to care for a parrot – it is enough to periodically clean the cage, monitor the amount of food and water, and sometimes let it fly around the apartment. And be prepared to clean up a lot. nine0083
Teaching a parrot to speak takes a lot of patience and patience – this is a good way to introduce a child to goal setting. True, the result is not guaranteed: the parrot may not start talking at all or reproduce at all what he was taught. So do not be surprised if the bird starts shouting phrases from video games or rapping.
Parrots love to sit on their shoulders and allow themselves to be stroked, but this is definitely not a creature that can be cuddle. This is partly why the bird can bore the child. But it is important to remember that parrots live for a long time, the life expectancy of some species is even longer than the average life expectancy of people in Russia. Therefore, taking home such a bird is a serious step. nine0003
Cats
Cons
Wayward.
Life expectancy
Up to 18 years.
Sources of endless love and social media content. These little predators have become iconic for entire civilizations. We admire the grace of their movements, graceful body shape, soft coat and, of course, the ability to purr. nine0083
Some people don’t like their independence from humans. But cat lovers see this as a plus: communication with the animal is not lined up vertically, but horizontally – as with an equal. To win the location of a cat, you need to be kind, tactful and unobtrusive. For a child, this is an excellent training in communication skills.
One of the best breeds for life with a child are Maine Coons and Ragdolls. They are calm, patient, rarely cause allergies and are just good-looking.
Dogs
Source: 4lapy.ru
Pros
Loyal, active, can become a friend, helper and protector.
Minuses
It is necessary to walk and educate.
Life expectancy
Up to 15 years.
The most faithful and understanding friends, ready to share all the joys and sorrows with the owner, protect from danger and even help bring things from the store.
The loyalty and intelligence of dogs makes them excellent companions for children. A dog, like no other animal, is able to teach a child to be friends, to be attentive and caring, persistent and patient. nine0083
Of course, getting a puppy is a huge responsibility. You need to not only walk with him, but also work very closely with him – train and educate. A child can hardly do this task, so get ready that for some time you will have one more child. The period of raising a puppy is the most important: in order for the beast to grow up obedient, it is necessary that all family members observe the hierarchy in communicating with him: they demanded subordination and did not indulge for no reason. It is necessary that the child learns and also observes these rules.

Even in my youth, when I talked with preschoolers and saw their interested faces and children’s smiles, I realized that I want to teach children from a very early age to notice the beautiful, live in anticipation of a miracle, and be in the world of childhood every day.
After graduating from the Minsk Pedagogical College in 1980, I arrived in my hometown of Zhodino and started working in the newly built kindergarten No. 17, where I worked for 13 years in a wonderful team of like-minded teachers. She also entered the correspondence department of the Faculty of Preschool Education of the Minsk Pedagogical Institute named after M. Gorky. In 1993, I was offered to head a nursery garden, which was built by the BelAZ automobile plant.
Representing the enormous responsibility that has been entrusted to me, I decided for myself that I will try very hard to create a modern preschool education institution that is comfortable for children, employees and parents.
July 1, 2018 marks the 25th anniversary of my career as a manager. Today I can say with full confidence that my dreams, hopes and efforts have come true.
Ed.: Tell us more about your achievements, successes in your work?
I.V.: Today our nursery-kindergarten “Pavlinka” is an institution with its own traditions, developed image, created comfort for children; an institution demanded by the parents of pupils.
The motto of the employees of our institution is “We will take the palms of the child in our hands and open our hearts for him!”. If we describe our team, then the definitions “mutual understanding”, “mutual assistance”, “trust”, “creativity”, “responsibility”, “social skills”, “striving for development”, “philanthropy”, “purposefulness” are best suited. And the most important thing for me is that we are a stable united team consisting of experienced, qualified teachers.
The results of the work of the team are children who leave kindergarten well-mannered, prepared for schooling and always delight us with their successes and excellent feedback from teachers.
We are also proud of our high performance in the annual competitions among preschool educational institutions in Zhodino. From 2010 to 2017, we took first place three times and became winners of the city stage of the republican competition “The Best Preschool Institution of the Year”.
Rev.: How is the facility staffing? How is the work with young professionals structured?
IV: Our facility is 100% staffed. Over the years, we have developed a certain system of work with young teaching staff.
An important task for young specialists to work is to create conditions for easy adaptation of each teacher. First of all, we warmly welcome them in the team. At the first meeting of the pedagogical council, we introduce the staff, the traditions of the institution, its achievements and tasks for the new academic year.
A good tradition in the nursery-kindergarten has become “Initiation into teachers”. This event is held as part of the celebration of Teacher’s Day. Young colleagues receive parting words from their mentors, communicate with veterans of pedagogical work, and take an oath to be faithful to their chosen profession. The holiday is always warm and emotional.
The second step in adaptation is the organization of mentoring. A young specialist needs constant help and support from colleagues. An experienced, having 1 category, creatively working educator is assigned to each; an individual work plan is drawn up. In the work of mentors, we consider it important not to allow excessive guardianship, to provide greater independence to young teachers.
Ed.: What conditions do you create for the professional growth of young professionals who come to work in the nursery?
I.V.: We are well aware that the entire teaching staff of the nursery-kindergarten, and not just the tutors assigned to them, should take part in the professional development of young teachers. For this, the “School of a Young Teacher” was created, where we try to form creative potential in novice teachers, an understanding of the need for continuous self-education, constant improvement of professional competence.
Organized work contributes to the fact that in two years a young specialist “grows” into a young promising teacher who is familiar with all areas of pedagogical activity, who is able to analyze the development of his own skills, and is capable of realizing creative potential in pedagogical activity.
And, of course, the most important task is to secure a young specialist for further work in the first job.
I would like to note that many young specialists, having completed their term, remain in Zhodino and continue to work in our institution.
Ed.: How do you attract extrabudgetary funds to the institution?
I.V.: The work of the board of trustees in our kindergarten is not only an effective, legally competent tool for attracting extrabudgetary funds, but also the most convenient way to help our institution. The attraction and competent use of incoming funds by the board of trustees significantly expands the possibilities of an educational institution.
Thanks to purposeful work with parents, the developing subject-game environment is constantly updated and replenished. Furniture, games and toys are purchased for groups and equipment for sites. The main thing in this work is a systematic report on the use of incoming funds and a bright, colorful presentation to parents of the created environment for children. It is important that parents see and evaluate the result of invested funds.
In addition, the source of attracting extrabudgetary funds is the provision of paid educational services in excess of the basic component at the request of parents. In the pre-school education institution, choreography classes are organized, developing classes in preparation for school, hand weaving, which pupils attend with pleasure.
The “Mother’s School” and an adaptation group have been working in our institution for 7 years. Such groups of joint stay of parents and children precede the child’s admission to kindergarten, ensure painless adaptation to the institution of preschool education. The work of the “Mother School” is carried out in the triad “teacher – parent – child”. Parents are provided with the necessary psychological and pedagogical assistance.
Educators, music director, head of physical education, teacher-psychologist, teacher-defectologist work with children and parents. In addition, interested parents are given the opportunity to visit the pool in the “Mother and Child” group, whose work is aimed at strengthening the physical health of babies.
Taking into account that not all pre-school educational institutions of the city have swimming pools, weekend groups of health-improving orientation and swimming training are organized in the nursery-garden. Children from other kindergartens visit our swimming pool with great pleasure.
We also earn money in the process of jointly held campaigns with parents to collect waste paper and scrap metal. If possible, we attract the help of sponsors.
Ed.: Tell us about the projects that are being implemented in your institution?
I.V.: In 2017, our institution participated in the city project, organized jointly with health care representatives of the city of Zhodino “Health begins with a smile!”.
Also, over the course of 4 years, kindergarten students have been actively participating in the city television project “Sphere” in the program “Hello, doctor!”. The participants of the project are children of senior preschool age. They give interviews to correspondents, in which they express their knowledge and ideas at the level of preschool age about a healthy lifestyle, diseases of people, measures that need to be taken to exclude certain diseases.
Every year, pupils of the senior groups of the nursery-kindergarten take part in the competition of the institution “I am a researcher”. The winner of the competition participates in the city stage of the festival, which has been held for 4 years at the nursery-kindergarten No. 4 “Pavlinka”, and the winners of the festival represent our city at the regional festival “I am a researcher” in Minsk.
Also, to solve the annual task of the 2017/2018 academic year, group educational projects were implemented on the basics of life safety: “Beware of troubles while they are gone”, “We want to be friends with fire”, “Road alphabet”, “Safe home” and other projects in which children, teachers and parents took part.
Rev.: Tell us about the unusual situations that you encountered in a preschool?
I.V.: There were no serious non-standard situations during the period of my work. But, revealing trouble in the family and protecting the rights and legitimate interests of underage pupils, one has to visit families where various unpleasant situations can arise. Some parents believe that preschool education specialists have no right to interfere in their family life. However, the serious preventive work carried out by the institution, aimed at the rehabilitation of the family and the elimination of the causes of the socially dangerous situation, gives positive results.
Ed: Based on your experience, what advice would you give to aspiring preschool leaders?
I.V.: Each teacher creates and maintains his own image, and the formation of culture, the image of the entire institution of preschool education depends on the leader. The deeper you comprehend the science of management, the more questions you face, and, accordingly, the wider the range of their solutions.
I would very much like to wish novice leaders to perfectly comprehend this science of management. Cultivate the ability to make wise and non-standard decisions, the ability to organize yourself and the team, take care of people and business at the same time, be fair.
Always put yourself in the place of your employees, think about what you would like to receive from the manager. I believe that the work of a manager with employees should be built on trust and good relations, then there will be a positive result. You can’t count on easy and quick success. However, by creating a team of creative, purposeful, proactive, knowledgeable specialists, all the goals and objectives set will be successfully achieved.
Whatever you do, you must remember that our children must be at the head. Children give us an inexhaustible supply of love, tenderness and strength. They enrich our life with joy and fill it with bright hopes!
