Looking after pets is fun, and can teach kids about responsibility and social skills. However, you must consider your child’s age: Young children must be supervised around pets at all times, and an adult must be the primary carer if you wish to pet sit with your child under 18.
When you should keep your kids away from pets
If you have very young children under 4, you should keep them clear of pets unless you are very familiar with the pet and it’s temperament, and you are supervising at all times.
Younger children might be at different stages in controlling their physical and emotional impulses, and this can lead to unsafe situations around animals. Pet sitting can be an opportunity to teach your kids about gentle patting and demonstrating that, like them, pets need love, food and water. But be sure to be present at every step, and if you are a pet sitter, discuss these interactions thoroughly with the pet’s owner first.
Never make any assumptions about specific breeds or species. Use common sense, and remember you may not know the entire history of a pet: even a breed that has a reputation for being family-friendly, such as Labradors or Golden Retrievers, can have their own individual backgrounds or triggers that you may not be aware of. As such, it’s essential to find out as much as you can during a meet and greet. Likewise, all pet sitters should have a thorough understanding of animal body language.
As a responsible pet sitter, you must prioritise the needs of your guest pet as well as your kids. If you are pet sitting a nervous or anxious pet under your roof, it’s best to allow them plenty of space and quiet time to adjust. We strongly recommend giving them access to a separate space away from your children and your resident pets.
How to help your kids pet sit
If you wish to join a pet sitting website such as Pawshake, you must be over 18 years old in order to be covered by the Pawshake Guarantee. But that isn’t to say your children can’t join in the fun of caring for cats and dogs!
If your kids are keen to be involved in pet sitting, make sure it is completely clear on your profile that you are the primary pet carer and that they may be involved at times, depending on the pet owner’s wishes. This is something to discuss during a meet and greet, and if the pet owner doesn’t want this to happen, respect their boundaries. Their pet might be nervous around strangers, or kids/teenagers specifically, or have separation anxiety or other behavioural issues. This is all an essential part of the meet and greet discussion: make sure you are all on the same page and don’t leave any room for misunderstanding.
You might like to bring your kids along when you go for a brisk walk or run with your guest pet: you can teach them all about dog park etiquette and asking before patting unfamiliar dogs, but, as the adult in charge, make sure you are the one always holding the dog’s leash. Your kids might even be able to teach your guest pet some new tricks to impress their fur parent, or burn some energy with a game of fetch.
Pet sitting can also be a great way to introduce your kids to the responsibilities of pet ownership and safety around animals. You might wish to have a feeding/water roster for guest pets, and share your Pawshake earnings as part of your children’s salary: just be sure to supervise so that the pet owner’s requests regarding food amounts, feeding methods and mealtimes are honoured.
If you are a pet owner, be sure to have a meet and greet with the whole family that will be coming into contact with your pet, and don’t be afraid to ask lots of questions. Done the right way, your pet might find themselves with some new human playmates for life. And, if you definitely don’t want any children around your pets, simply select the ‘has no children’ search filter when looking for a perfect pet sitter.

How old should you be to dog sit? Experts weigh in
For many animal-loving kiddos, dog sitting sounds like the ultimate way to make a little money (while logging hours with their favorite four-legged friends). But when it comes to the “right” age for dog sitting, there are a few things experts recommend.
Unlike the babysitting age in some states, there isn’t a minimum age in which kids can legally become pet sitters. However, “kids are usually ready to dog sit between the ages of 10 and 12,” according to Dr. Britta K. Ostermeyer, chief of psychiatry service at OU Health, University of Oklahoma, who adds that “for bigger dogs who are harder to watch, kids should be at least 12.”
Pet sitting, according to Ostermeyer, is lower stakes than babysitting, but even so, pet sitters need to be “ready to assume responsibility for the pet.” “The child needs to be able to direct the pet, feed them, and needs to be able to recognize when the dog is not well and needs to be taken for help,” she explains. “In that case, the child needs to know where to call to arrange for the pets to see a vet.”
Wondering how old you should be to dog sit? Here’s what the experts say.
Is there a general age when kids are ready for dog sitting?
According to Dr. Heather Venkat, a companion animal veterinarian at VIP Puppies in Phoenix, kids 12 and up are generally ready for dog sitting. “But depending on the size and energy level of the dog, it may be best to wait until a kid is a teenager before they tackle dog sitting,” she adds.
And keep in mind, as Dr. Tomitra Latimer, Medical Director of Lurie Children’s Pediatrics at Deming, points out: “Young children are not able to be by themselves so it’s a good idea for the dog owner to introduce the dog to all family members of the dog sitter.”
“Depending on the size and energy level of the dog, it may be best to wait until a kid is a teenager before they tackle dog sitting.”
— DR. HEATHER VENKAT, VETERINARIAN
When Tiffany Cho of Aberdeen, New Jersey went away with her family last summer, she did just that. After asking her 11-year-old neighbor to watch their Pomeranian for a few days, she made sure everyone in his family was OK with it. “We live close, so we just asked him to take him out a few times a day, feed him, make sure he had water and our house wasn’t too hot,” Cho says. “But I knew his mom would wind up helping him with everything, so I ran it by her first.”
What are signs a kid is ready to dog sit?
Before taking on a dog sitting gig, kids should “show signs of responsibility and maturity,” according to Venkat. Here are a few indicators a child may be up to the task:
They help out with their own pets. Says Venkat: “If a child has pets in the home, a sign that they would be ready to dog sit is if they do a great job helping out and taking care of their own pets.”
They’re passionate about animals. Even if a kid doesn’t have a pet themselves, “a passion for pets is a great place to start,” according to Dr. Danielle Bernal, global veterinarian for Wellness Pet Company. “At the end of the day, pet parents want to ensure their pet is happy and healthy, but they also want someone to care for them as much as they do each day,” she says. “Someone who loves pets and enjoys their company is crucial. ”
“At the end of the day, pet parents want to ensure their pet is happy and healthy, but they also want someone to care for them as much as they do each day.”
— DR. DANIELLE BERNAL, VETERINARIAN
They’re a good student. “Doing well in school and in extracurriculars is a sign that a child could be ready to dog sit,” Venkat says. “However, they should be able to balance their time with the extra tasks.”
They do their chores. “If the child displays maturity and responsibility in completing chores, such as making their bed and washing dishes, without prompting, they may be ready for dog sitting,” notes Latimer, adding that they should also take care of themselves without being asked. (Think: You don’t have to remind them to shower or brush their teeth.)
They have common sense. Bernal notes that, while in most cases, dog sitting refers to feeding and making sure the animal gets exercise, pet sitters still need the maturity and common sense to know if something is off. “Pet sitters should be able to detect if the pet is not well or simply not acting like its normal self,” she says. “With their pet parent(s) away, a pet may become more stressed or anxious, causing mischievous or troublesome behavior. Noticing the pet has not drunk enough water, passed any stools or are simply just not themselves is vital to keeping a pet healthy.” Because of this, Bernal notes that kids who are pet sitting should always have an adult they can immediately ask for a second opinion.
They’re physically strong. If a child is watching a big dog, they need to be strong enough to manage large dogs,” Latimer says.
If the pet sitting job takes place out of the home, Latimer notes that an adult should accompany the child or teen to help or take over if needed.
In addition to the child, there’s the dog to consider. Here’s what Latimer and Bernal say to keep in mind on the pup’s end:
The breed size and/or number of pets. “A larger breed size or greater number of dogs could imply that a child needs to be a little older or physically more mature to manage them, especially if out on a walk,” notes Bernal.
“A larger breed size or greater number of dogs could imply that a child needs to be a little older or physically more mature to manage them, especially if out on a walk.”
— DR. DANIELLE BERNAL, VETERINARIAN
The dog’s demeanor. “Parents and kids should consider and know whether the dog has a history of any behaviors that might present risks to the child, others or themselves,” Latimer says. “For instance: Do they play well with other animals? How do they walk on a leash? Do they have any triggers, such as noise sensitivities?”
The care required. “Even some of the smallest dogs can be quite the handful,” Bernal says. “If the dog is challenged or needs additional care like medication, it may make more sense to wait a few more years or choose another dog to pet sit. It’s important that every child feels just as safe as the pet does.”
Dog sitting skills to *bone* up on
A responsible track record and passion for pups can be great indicators of a budding pet sitter, but doing a little homework on the front-end is important, too. According to Bernal and Venkat, the following skills are helpful when starting out as a dog sitter:
A general knowledge of dog behavior. “Knowing basic dog behavior is important for kids who want to dog sit, so that they can read a dog’s body language well and know how to handle them,” Venkat says.To that point, Bernal adds that it’s crucial to be able to “detect a limp or a sick dog” in order to keep pups healthy.
Basic animal training knowledge. Bernal also notes that knowing the commands on how to get a dog to behave are important.
Road sense and caution if taking the pet out on walks. An adult should accompany younger kids on walks and help older kids plan out a safe route for walking and/or playing.
According to Bernal, the most important things are that the pet owner, child and their family keep safety in mind and make comfort a priority for everyone. And for kids who are on the younger side: “Don’t worry,” she says. “Employing the help of parents or guardians is a great way to start dog sitting, especially if your first customer is a close friend or family member.”
How old do you have to be for Care.com?
While there’s room for interpretation when it comes to determining the appropriate age for dog sitting, there’s not when it comes to joining Care.com as a pet sitter. In order to enroll, you need to be at least 18, and every caregiver who joins the Care.com platform is required to undergo enhanced screening, which includes a criminal background check called CareCheck.
“Mom, buy a dog!” Top 12 questions about children and pets
Small and large dogs, fluffy kittens, hamsters – no child can pass by them calmly. But how to understand that he is already ready for the appearance of a pet, will walk the dog and will not give up this idea in a week? Together with the Yuna Center for the Rehabilitation of Temporarily Homeless Animals, which will hold an exhibition-attachment in Moscow on February 9, we answer the main questions that concern parents.
1. What is the best age for a child to have their first pet?
One of the most serious barriers in this matter is the possibility of an allergy in a child. That is why, in the presence of children under three years old, there are certain risks if you are thinking about a cat or a dog.
Be sure to test your child for allergies. And to yourself, if in doubt. Sometimes it does not appear immediately, but several weeks after the appearance of the pet in the house. Act especially prudently in such a situation, try to think of an alternative to cats and dogs: for example, get a fish or a hamster.
For many parents, the safety of the child becomes an important factor. We are almost sure that with proper upbringing, a cat or dog cannot have a desire to harm, but you should not forget about this aspect.
In addition, a small child can do harm himself by painfully grabbing the animal by the tail or squeezing it tightly. Therefore, only after six years is it recommended to have puppies and kittens, and up to six years it is worth choosing adult animals.
Of course, it matters if you have free time to take care of your pet. Remember that you need to walk with the dog, educate it, monitor its behavior. All this can become a problem if you have a small child.
Often the initiative to get a pet comes from a child. When children go to school, most often they begin to pay attention to pets and their owners, and they get the idea that they would also like to have a cat or dog at home.
In this situation, you need to be aware that a child will be able to fully take care of a new friend at the age of 10–12 years (of course, it happens earlier, it depends on the individual characteristics of the child). At this age, you will most likely be able to share the care of a pet among all family members, and the child will be its full-fledged owner.
2. Which animal is best for small children?
The same fish can be kept from birth, since they do not harm even the smallest child, but watching them is a real pleasure. But, of course, the aquarium needs to be placed higher so that it does not “catch” beautiful fish. By the way, there are times when an allergy occurs to fish food!
Also, there should be no problems with cats and dogs that were already in the house before the birth of the child, because addiction in such cases passes quite quickly.
3. How to prepare an apartment for the appearance of a pet?
In order for the pet to feel as comfortable and safe as possible in their new home, owners need to prepare as follows:
Remove all wires and do not forget to unplug chargers and electrical appliances.
Remove chemical detergents from the bathroom to the closet, hide medicines away.
If there is a cat in the house, special cat nets must be installed on the windows.
If there is a dog in the house, put away your favorite slippers, children’s toys and everything that will be difficult for you to part with if the dog wants to taste something new.
For a cat, you need to purchase a tray, litter and scoop, two/three bowls (for water and for dry and wet food), suitable food (according to the recommendations of the veterinarian), a scratching post, a special brush for combing hair and nail clippers, toys, carrying.
The following kit will be enough for a dog: two bowls (for water and food), suitable food (according to the recommendations of the veterinarian), a special brush for combing out wool, toys, bedding (bed), leash, collar / harness, address book.
It is important that pets have the opportunity to hide and retire in case, at some particular moment, they do not want to make contact, but want to rest. Do not forget that animals need a passport and a chip.
4. How to explain to a child that it is impossible to squeeze an animal all the time, to stroke it by force?
Children learn about the world, including at the level of tactile sensations, so they show interest and attention to the pet through such “hugs”.
Animals understand that they have a child in front of them and treat him more condescendingly, but small children and older children should be explained that by pulling a pet, squeezing and squeezing, they cause him physical pain.
Moreover, it is also important to explain that a pet’s patience may run out and he may bite or scratch the child.
Invite the child to imagine a situation in which he himself would be constantly pulled, squeezed and squeezed in hugs. It is important to convey to him that a pet is not a toy that can be sold or exchanged for something more attractive. It is advisable to take care of the pet yourself regularly and with pleasure, so that the child takes over responsible behavior from you.
5. What should I do if a dog ate a child’s favorite toy?
It is important to understand that if a dog does something, it means that the owner somehow allows it. To prevent such situations, the host must:
keep things in order, in their places, so that the dog cannot reach them;
keep an eye on her: as soon as you notice that she is encroaching on a thing, say “no”. Scold, raise your voice, but do not shout very loudly. The dog will perceive your anger and screams as aggression, so the situation may worsen. It is important to realize that the dog does not consider destroying things as something bad. Therefore, you need to speak to her calmly, but strictly, reproachfully, in an upset voice, so that she realizes that she upset the owner with her actions, that these toys are important to you and spoiling things is bad;
provide the pet with enough of its own toys. Remember that dogs love plastic bottles, and you need to buy special, dense balls and other toys, preferably from a single piece of rubber, because such a toy will last longer. The child should also be explained that the dog did not do this on purpose and not in order to offend him with this, and if possible, buy a new toy.
6. What if after a few weeks someone in the family develops an allergy to animals?
Of course, there are methods of prevention. These include careful care of the animal, use of household air purifiers, washing hands after stroking or playing with the pet. If an allergic reaction does occur, go to an allergist for an accurate diagnosis. Allergy symptoms are similar to many other diseases.
Next, the appointment of medication will follow. This may be as antihistamine therapy, the use of desensitization therapy or even a barrier technique. But, unfortunately, allergies are a predisposition, and if it manifests itself intensely when you have already taken a cat or dog, then the only right decision is to transfer the animal to other family members or friends.
7. At what age can a child take a walk with a dog or feed a cat?
It is impossible to accurately determine the age of the child, which would be universal for walking or not walking the dog. All children are different, with different abilities and levels of awareness in relation to animals. In addition, the dog itself may be well educated and prepared to walk with the child on its own, or may not be ready for this.
In any case, a child can walk a pet only if he understands that he has a big responsibility
And provided that you have all the necessary attributes for walking the dog: collar, leash, address book and muzzle (if necessary).
It is worth showing by personal example how to walk the dog, how to clean up after it, tell why you can’t let it off the leash. Take several such walks under the close supervision of a parent.
Feeding a cat is no less a responsible task. The main thing is that parents clearly demonstrate how to do it correctly: explain where the food is, how much to put, how to understand that the pet is hungry, and so on.
8. What should I do if my child promised to take care of an animal but does nothing?
Before confronting this problem head-on, try to see if your child is ready for a pet. For example, you can go together as volunteers to an animal shelter, help clean the enclosures, care for the animals, or with their socialization.
If the child accepts such suggestions well and readily responds to help, this is a good sign. Try to act out a situation that every dog owner faces: start practicing daily half-hour walks in the morning together. This will show whether the child will be ready to get up early in order to have time to walk the dog before school.
It is important to understand that if you scold your child for not fulfilling his duties, this can only lead to a worsening of the situation. Children may begin to avoid punishment by pretending that they did everything. Parents should serve as an example and sincerely show concern and care for animals, thereby showing that it can be interesting and exciting.
Talk to your child, explain that caring for a pet is as important as caring for family members. Tell that the animal cannot cook its own food and clean up after itself during a walk.
We have developed the Yuna Class course, where we talk about responsible attitude towards pets using fun tasks and educational videos. Each parent or teacher can leave a request to attend our lessons, the teacher’s visit to the school, or even the transfer of all materials for self-study.
9. What if the child asked for an animal and then started crying and asking to give it back?
Everything is solved by talking and finding out the root cause — why the child started crying. Perhaps the animal scratches, bites, or even throws itself at him. It is necessary to follow both the behavior of the animal and the behavior of the child when handling it.
Further, depending on the reason, take measures. Most often they are educational. If opportunities allow and the problem lies in the fact that the animal cannot be friendly to the child, you can turn to a zoopsychologist or dog handler for help. The same measures should be taken if the child complains about an animal that has been living with you for a long time.
10. How do you explain to a child that fish and hamsters have sex/eat their children?
Fish and hamsters have sex. It is their physiological need to produce offspring, which in turn will also reproduce themselves. The instincts of all living beings are aimed at solving the main task – the preservation of the race. In our opinion, one should not hide the truth from children and try to deceive them by replacing the names of physiological processes with children’s counterparts.
Regarding cannibalism. Unfortunately, this is a natural process for hamsters. It can be explained by several reasons: the female eats babies that were born with any genetic deformities in order to get rid of them. The female has 8 nipples, she can feed 8–12 cubs, but if there are 16–18 of them, it is likely that the mother will bite the “extra” ones. Most often this happens when hamsters are not yet two months old.
In the case of fish, the situation is somewhat different: most often the mother eats the cubs, obeying the instinct of self-preservation. The fry are perceived by the female not as her children, but as competitors in the struggle for food and territory. For fish, anything smaller than the individual itself is perceived as prey.
11. How can I explain the death of a pet to a child?
Referring to the advice of psychologists, we can draw the following conclusion: do not try to protect your son or daughter from sadness, grief and tears. These are normal, natural manifestations of human emotions.
Children will recognize and experience the problem in their own way. Your task is to try to make this experience easier by supporting the child.
Don’t hide your emotions as a parent, you are human too. Don’t be afraid to show sadness, don’t be shy to cry. Don’t hide anything from him. It is better to experience the loss together, then the child will not consider you his enemy or a deceiver.
12. What should I do if my child brings stray animals home all the time?
Here it is important to discuss with the child why he does this and find a compromise. The most appropriate tactic is to start by explaining that an animal picked up from the street must be examined by a veterinarian and most likely needs professional treatment.
In case you are not ready to take an animal from the street into the family, it is important to offer an alternative. For example, go as a volunteer to an animal shelter. Buy food or medicine together with your child as a gift to the shelter and explain to him that such actions are more reasonable in relation to homeless animals and help to solve this problem in a civilized manner.
On February 9, the Yuna Center for the Rehabilitation of Temporarily Homeless Animals will hold the last winter exhibition of dogs and cats from shelters. The event will take place in the small hall of the Artplay Design Center.
The exhibition dedicated to St. Valentine’s Day and dedicated to stories of true love and fidelity, the organizers will present more than 100 healthy, vaccinated and well-groomed cats and dogs.
There will also be a collection point for animals from shelters, where you can bring food, medicine, toys and other gifts.

how to take animals, how much you can earn and what are the difficulties
Ivan Zhukovin
makes money on overexposure of animals
In May 2021, my girlfriend posted an ad about overexposure of animals.
In a month and a half, we earned 40,000 R. During this time, seven pets managed to live with us: three cats and four dogs.
If you love animals and spend a lot of time at home, you can also take care of your pets. I’ll tell you what you need to be prepared for.
Cat Keks lived with us for two weeks
What is overexposure
Overexposure is a temporary home for animals. My girlfriend and I call ourselves nannies for dogs and cats. We take other people’s animals, feed them, walk them and take care of them as if they were our own. But at the same time, we do not educate. Everything is like with children.
My girlfriend and I live in Vladivostok in a two-room apartment. We can afford to take animals for overexposure, because we work mainly from home. I teach guitar, students come to my house. The girl works six hours a day outside the home, the rest of the time is remote.
We are most often contacted when they go on vacation and have no one to leave their pets with. It also happens that they bring us animals that they cannot take care of, for example, because they work around the clock. This is especially true for puppies: they need to walk up to six times a day until they grow up.
People pay money for overexposure. If you do not want to pay, you can negotiate with friends, relatives or neighbors. But they are not always comfortable: they may have cases in which the pet does not fit at all.
People can also leave animals at the zoo. We have one in Vladivostok. The animals are walked there, fed, cleaned up after them. But they are kept in cages. I think it’s terrible.

How much does it cost to keep pets: 5 examples with calculations
Unlike a pet hotel, pets feel at home here. We do not have our own pets, because it is expensive and requires too much effort. You can’t just get an animal and forget about it. He needs to be educated: play every day for at least fifteen minutes, take him to a cynologist or a cat psychologist, and if it is a dog, then also walk it. At the same time, we love animals very much, so overexposure is a compromise that suits both of us.
This is how the pet hotel looks like. I feel sad for animals in cages. Our houses are much more comfortable. He moved in with the girl and her parents, and another cat was already living there. Ragnarok began to attack him. It was necessary to isolate the alien animal from danger. We volunteered to shelter the cat for a while, while a friend saves money to rent a separate apartment. We set a condition: the owner of the cat will pay for food and filler for the toilet.
As a result, Ragnarok lived with us for four months with a break for March. During this time, we got used to it a lot, and it was a pity to leave. But the situation hardened us: the next partings with temporary pets were less painful.

“I was sure that this is our dog”: how much does it cost to shelter a homeless animal
After Ragnarok, the dog Graham lived with us for a week. His owner, our friend, was leaving for a retreat. We agreed to help on the same terms as with the cat.
It was more fun with the dog: he was trained and brought up to the best. We often played with him on the street: we threw toys at him, and he brought them. I purposely climbed a small mountain and threw toys down. During the walk, Graham was exhausted and slept most of the time at home. The hostess laughed: she rarely played with him so much and therefore almost never saw him so calm.
A one-minute video from one of our walks with Graham, which I filmed and edited
We did not take money from the owners of Ragnarok and Graham, we helped out of friendship.

Our announcement and first clients
My girlfriend Sasha has long wanted to take animals for overexposure for money. She already had that experience. As a student, she registered with the Dogsy service and from time to time took dogs to her. Dogsy is a service for finding dog and cat sitters, that is, dog and cat nannies. With its help, people find those with whom they can leave their beast for the time of departure.
When Ragnarok temporarily moved in with us, Sasha once again started talking about accepting animals at home on a commercial basis. And I agreed.
/perederzhka/
How much does it cost to take a puppy for overexposure
At first we decided to register with the same Dogsy and work through it. But the application rejected our questionnaires without explanation. We assume that we were not convincing enough in the questionnaires and looked too young and inexperienced. Or maybe in Vladivostok, Dogsy just has a few clients, but a lot of dog sitters.
It was possible to go to city agencies, but we did not, and instead published a private ad on Farpost – this is a bulletin board for residents of Primorye and the Far East. I am accustomed to working for myself, so this option suited me completely. In the ad, we wrote that we love animals very much, indicated our conditions and prices.
This is how our ad looks like
A couple of weeks later, the first response to the ad came. We were asked to take the dog Stephen for a day. The owners were leaving for a recreation center, and there was no one to leave the dog with.
The meeting with the beast was tense: Steven did not want to go with me to the apartment, he escaped from his hands and ran to the owner. He had to get out of the car and carry the dog on his own to the fourth floor.
At home, Stephen wrote to bed, but there were no other difficulties with him. Soon he played out, jokingly biting our hands and running after Ragnarok, who was still living with us at that time.
It was easy to leave. Over the course of the day, we didn’t get attached to Steven much.
In August, three months later, he was left with us again, only this time for three days. We got to know each other better. Steven turned out to be an anxious dog. He often barked for no apparent reason, peed on the carpet again, and desperately demanded to be played with his favorite toy.
After that, we began to accept animals for overexposure more or less regularly.
Our conditions
We accept small and medium dogs, cats, as well as rodents and fish for overexposure.
We ask owners of dogs and cats about vaccinations and take their word for it. Some owners confirm the words with a veterinary passport, where vaccination marks are affixed.
We also ask about sterilization and castration. We will not take two animals capable of reproduction at the same time. Let’s take one.

From mini-pigs to seagulls: 10 rare pets that live with readers T-F
On average, animals are left with us for 5-7 days. But we love it more when the beast lives with us longer – from a month. During this time, we manage to love him as our own. For so long, we have had three pets so far: Ragnarok the cat, Lucky the cat and James the puppy.
What we offer. We walk the dogs twice a day, play, wash and trim the nails if the owners leave the tweezers. We play with cats and also trim our claws. Naturally, we feed and drink everyone.
We have a two-room apartment in an old house with high ceilings. There are no bars on the windows, which is why, with the windows open, the cats climb over the window sills from room to room. We live on the fourth floor. At such moments, we are very worried about them, but so far there have been no accidents. We do not plan to install bars, instead we keep the windows closed if we see cats climbing onto the windowsills.
We put toilets in the corners so that the animals do not interfere with each other, and we put the beds next to the bed. But we have few people lying on the beds: we allow animals to sleep with us if their owners do not mind.
We and the animals live in such conditions. Right now, no one lives with us, so the beds in the photo did not get
We do not limit the number of animals that live in the apartment at a time. Often there are two of them. Once, for one day, we had four left at once: two dogs and two cats. It was difficult and nervous, I don’t want to repeat this. My maximum is three animals: two cats and a friendly dog. Sasha says she is ready for four or five animals at a time. I doubt she understands what she’s getting into.
Owners know that their pet will not be alone. This suits many: animals can communicate with each other. But it happens that the owners have doubts that the beast will get along with others. Then we promise that in case of problems we will separate the animals into different rooms. There are two of us, and everyone can look after.
If it is important for someone that the animal lives alone, we will offer dates when this is possible and ask for additional payment.
/dog-price/
How much does it cost to get a dog
The girl and I share the money in half. Duties too. Basically, I walk the dogs, and Sasha cleans up after the animals at home.
How we communicate with customers. Sasha communicates with the owners. Most often, they are worried about how we will sit with pets, since we do not have a house, but an apartment. We answer: “So are you. You also live in an apartment.”
There were some unusual requests. One girl wanted to come to our house before the overexposure and see how we live. Another time, they wanted to leave the animal for only three hours. And there was also a request for overexposure of a dog that was found on the street. We politely refused all these requests.
How much you can earn
We charge 300 R per day for small dogs and cats. This is the standard price. Overexposure from competitors in our city is more expensive – from 400 R per day.
For a dog weighing over 8 kilograms, we set a higher price – 350 R. And for a dog weighing over 15 kilograms – 500 R, and it is important for us that it is not aggressive.
Owners pay for overexposure and food, bring beds, toys and cat litter for the toilet. If something ends, we buy more with the money of the owners. Once, at their own expense, they treated the dog with a bone and treats.
/prava/zhivotnye/
Rights if there are pets
If we have two animals, we earn 18,000 R per month. The money is paid in advance, so we get several thousand at once. We do not conclude any contract.
In the first month and a half, we managed to earn even more – 40,000 R. This happened due to the large number of animals that we accepted at the same time.
Difficulties
In my experience, the first couple of days with an animal is the hardest. The animal gets used to a new place and owner, and you get used to it. Cats usually hide and watch from secluded places. And dogs that are more attached to people can sit near the door and whine, or even try to run away. This is how James and Stephen behaved at first.
Moving is stressful for an animal, and it is difficult to predict in advance how it will behave. It is important to take this calmly and let the pet get used to you and your apartment. By the second or third day, everything should stabilize. If this did not happen and the animal is still sitting, huddled in a corner and not touching the food bowl, this is a reason to see the veterinarian.
I’ll tell you what problems we had and how we solved them.
The beast refuses to eat. It happened to us with Lucky the cat. The veterinarian advised us to force feed her: grind the food, mix it with water, draw the mixture into a syringe and pour it into her mouth. The owners were aware of the situation and gave the go-ahead for a trip to the veterinarian and forced feeding.

Who to leave your pet with on vacation: 7 home care services
The beast gets into dangerous places. The same Lucky climbed up the pipes to the second ceiling in the toilet and could sit there all day, so we were worried about her. We have high ceilings, and in order to get it, we had to disassemble the plastic layer and get a stepladder. After a couple of cases, we began to close the door to the toilet.
Lucky likes to hide and climb higher. In the photo, she is sitting on the fourth shelf in the kitchen. Height – 1.8 meters, climbed herself
That same second ceiling in the toilet where we got Lucky from. We doubt that she would have been able to climb out of there on her own. Since then, the ceiling has remained disassembled into one cell: they could not assemble

Beast damages property. Once we left a cat and a dog alone for four hours. And when they returned, they saw that the monitor was lying on the table. It turned out that his matrix was broken. Now we save money to fix it.
I wanted to write to the owners and demand half of the money from them for repairs, but the girl and relatives insisted that I not do this. They were afraid to run into a conflict in which we would lose: they themselves did not watch it.
The animal has health problems. The dog Mani had bloody diarrhea, and he did his business exclusively on the carpet. For us, this was a surprise: the hostess did not warn that the dog was sick. When we told her about this, she spread her hands and suggested that the dog was stressed because of other animals. She advised giving him pills, but they didn’t help.
/list/pet-insurance/
From illness and injury: 6 companies that insure pets
We were not paid extra for a damaged carpet. The dog was not with us for long, so we just waited until the term expired and returned it to its owner. Since then, we have been cleaning carpets in advance if there is a suspicion that they will be spoiled.
The beast is misbehaving. The most difficult of our guests was puppy James, a naughty spaniel. Although we walked with him three times a day, at home he was rampant: he gnawed rags, plastic, linoleum. At night he barked because he saw a fly. I ran after cats and even tried to molest the cat Lucky, who, in addition to everything, started estrus just at that moment. James regularly got hit in the face with cat claws, but this did not stop him.
Eventually we got tired and returned it to its owner. The owner was not happy with this decision, but what to do: James took a lot of energy. At the same time, we earned only 350 R per day on his overexposure.

How to choose a cynologist and not overpay
I can say that when we started overexposure, we did not think about all these risks at all.
James is photogenic and naughty
Pretends that it is necessary

Our plans
Although we like to babysit animals, we got really tired of problem dogs in a month. Two dogs in a row gave us trouble: one was shitting on carpets, and the second was a hooligan: chasing cats, disobeying on the street, chewing on linoleum, plastic and rags.
So we took a break for a couple of weeks from keeping dogs. Cats are not so difficult: they require less attention. They do not need to be walked, but you can play at home.
We plan to raise prices for difficult cases: we will take puppies and sick dogs at an increased rate – 450-700 R per day. If the owners hide that the animal is aggressive, too young and sick, we will return the dog. It is difficult to predict the behavior in such a situation, so we will improvise.
We also want to start an overexposure Instagram. People will be able to go to the profile and evaluate how we look after pets. A page on the social network will allow us to increase the average check and subsequently buy more goods for animals: cat houses, toys for dogs and cats. Many owners do not buy toys for their pets, and they are bored with us. We will entertain them.

Conclusions
Despite the various difficulties, I like to take animals for overexposure. The unconditional love they give pays for everything. I especially love it when pets sleep with us in the same bed and meet us on the threshold of the apartment when we come home.
To take animals for overexposure, you need to be patient and loving.

About | St. Petersburg Christian Preschool
Cathedral Child Care (now Saint Petersburg Christian Preschool) was established in 1970 under the ministry of Don and Arthlene Rippy. Arthlene visualized a place where pre-school children could receive the love of Jesus in their hearts.
In 1970, the pre-school opened in Suncoast Cathedral at 2021 62nd Avenue where St. Petersburg Christian School now stands. Pastor Rippy founded SPCS just one year after his wife opened the Child Care Center. Both schools have been providing spiritual and academic opportunities to families in our community for over 51 years.
In 1981, the church purchased 16 acres of land across 62nd Avenue, built a 60,000 square foot multipurpose worship center, and moved the Cathedral Child Care Center, as a ministry of Suncoast Cathedral, to the new facilities at 2300 62nd Avenue. SPCS stayed at the property across the street and assembled a school for over 500 students from Kindergarten through the 8th grade.
In 1983, Cathedral Child Care center aligned with the State of Florida to insure we continue to offer a quality child care program. The center was licensed by the state through the Pinellas County License Board for Children’s Centers and Family Day Care Homes. We currently meet or exceed all local and state regulations.
In 1999, Cathedral Child Care Center became a member of the Florida League of Christian Schools. By operating according to their Standard & Licensing Procedures Handbook we received Preschool Certification from FLOCS. We also received accreditation through the Association of Christian Teachers and Schools and have maintained a high level of Christian standards for the children in our care. We strive to show our families, and the community, that Christ-centered, Bible-based, Holy Spirit-directed, Christian Schools will be the solution to the educational challenges facing our world today.
Our preschool is licensed in the category- DAY NURSERY.
Our capacity is for- 178 children including 9 infants.
The age of children in care may be -12 MONTHS THROUGH 6 YEARS AND SCHOOL AGE.
Our preschool has 13 classrooms, 2 offices, 1 cafeteria, a staff lounge, a literacy center for children and a curriculum resource closet.
The larger office is for the Preschool Director (Chief Administrator). The smaller office is for an Office Administrator who manages tuition, accounts receivable and accounts payable. The Children’s Pastor from Suncoast provides chapel once a month. Suncoast also provides a Financial Manager and Financial Committee who oversee budget and financial operations. They, in turn, report to the Elder Board of the corporation.
Our Beliefs
Our preschool believes that the guidance and teaching a child receives in early childhood greatly impacts the success he or she experiences in school. We are confident that we can help provide a foundation for your child’s success. We will coach your child through play and multi‐sensory experiences in a flexible curriculum within a comfortable academic atmosphere. Our goal is to create a caring, nurturing environment that fosters Christ’s love. We use a Bible-based, age appropriate curriculum that includes hands-on activities to build a solid foundation. We strive to meet the individual needs of children in all realms of development: spiritual, intellectual, physical, emotional and social. Our preschool curriculum is planned to include a balance of activities. We offer many opportunities for enrichment through our daily curriculum. Readiness activities include:
Our Goals
Our goal is to influence your child in five areas:
ACADEMICS – Your child will discover his/her academic potential and will gain foundational knowledge through new learning experiences and hands‐on activities that will help to promote success in school. We use a systematic approach to teaching phonics through Sing, Spell, Read and Write. We also use a thematic approach to organize our learning environment using Beyond Centers and Circle Time Curriculum.
EMOTIONS – Your child will grow in confidence, responsibility and self‐discipline through encouragement and open communication. We purposefully teach character education to equip children with life skills to solve conflicts.
SOCIAL SKILLS – Your child will have opportunities to share, respect and care for others, cooperate and interact with adults and peers through group and individual activities. We intentionally address preschool social skills to teach respect, responsibility and generosity.
PHYSICAL DEVELOPMENT – Your child will exercise his/her large and fine motor skills in indoor and outdoor experiences to develop dexterity, strength and coordination.
SPIRITUAL GROWTH – Your child will learn about God’s grace in our Savior, Jesus Christ, through Bible stories, chapel and open discussion.

How much does the La Petite Academy cost?
The specific tuition rates, like most daycare centers, are not publicized on the official website; rather, we had to research third-party websites in order to find the costs other people were paying for childcare, with the average costs in the $200 to $ 350 per week range, highly dependent upon your child’s age and the location. At the time of this publishing, however, the only way you could receive exact costs for your child was either by calling the official toll-free number at 888. 330.1458 or requesting a callback by filling out the signup form here. You could also look for a location nearby and call the daycare directly for more information.
Again, while the company didn’t specify the prices on the official website, we were able to find prices of what other parents were paying, but remember, these are just averages are not deemed 100 percent accurate as the age of your child, the length they plan on attending and the location are all factors that can affect the price of your daycare tuition.
According to members on this Babycenter.com forum thread, for example, a few members talked about the costs, with one member saying it was definitely dependent upon the actual location. According to those who did reply, the prices they did quote ranged anywhere from $350 a week for a child younger than two to $200 for the infant room. We found another thread on the same website where a mom said she paid $1,300 a month for her child, but this was for a higher cost of living area.
Via this PDF, the local Ashburn, Virginia LaPetite Academy provided their local costs, stating the one-year-old program would cost $315 a week, the kindergarten program would cost $190 a week, and the after school only program, for first grade and up, would cost $155.

How much did you spend?
La Petite Academy Cost – In 2023
The La Petite Academy, an educational daycare center established in 1968, provides early instructional childcare programs for kids of any age.
Nowadays, it considers itself to be among the country’s biggest academic daycare businesses, with more than 450 areas throughout the nation.
Just how much does the La Petite Academy cost?
The particular tuition rates, like in the case of many daycare centers, are not advertised on the main site; rather, you needed to research through third-party sites in order to discover the expenses other individuals were charged for child care. Throughout our research, we have found that the typical expenses are anywhere between $200 and $350 weekly, very much dependant upon your kid’s age and geographical location. At the time of this publishing, nevertheless, the only way in which you might get exact expenses for your child is either by calling the main toll-free number at 888.330.1458 or by asking for a callback by completing the signup form here. You can also search for a location that is close to you and call the daycare directly to find out more.
You might also like our articles about the cost of Children’s Learning Adventure, Lightbridge Academy, or Kiddie Academy.
Again, while the business didn’t advertise the rates on the main site, during our research we were able to find rates of what other parents were paying. Keep in mind that these are just quotes and shouldn’t be considered one hundred percent exact as the age of your kid, the time they want to spend there and the geographical location are all aspects that can impact the rate of the daycare tuition.
According to members on one Babycenter forum thread, for instance, the fee is certainly dependant upon the actual location. According to those who had replied to the thread talking about the costs, they were charged anywhere from $350 a week for a kid younger than 2 to $200 for the infant room. We stumbled upon another thread on the very same site where a parent noted that they paid $1,300 a month for their kid, however, this was for a city with a higher expense of living.
The regional Ashburn, Virginia LaPetite Academy published their local expenses, mentioning the one-year-old program would cost $315 a week, the kindergarten program would cost $190 a week, and the after-school only program, for first grade and up, would cost $155.
Infants and Toddlers: Utilizing the “Learn the Start program, the business’s unique curriculum for early education, the Academy will aid this age bracket to get ready for preschool, aiding them to explore developmental milestones.

Little Sunshine’s Playhouse And Preschool – Colorado Springs CO Child Care Center
Description: Childtime’s educational philosophy is based on the Reggio Emilia approach, named after the Italian city and the surrounding villages where the method took root after World War II. Central to this philosophy is the belief that secure relationships with responsive and respectful adults provide the basis for all learning. With these relationships in place, children develop a capacity for trust, competence and independence that helps them grow as students and people.

“Invest in sweatshirts and be original” — Ksenia Leri about who trends are created for and why you shouldn’t focus on them
Last fall, two of the world’s largest brands Disney and AVON launched a project for young designers Fashion Academy . According to the results of the creative competition, the jury selected 9 finalists who will take part in the television part of the project as part of the program “Rules of Style” on channel Disney . This is an opportunity for talented fashion designers to express themselves, create their own collections in front of millions of TV viewers and show them on a real podium. Under the guidance of the best experts in the Russian fashion industry, young designers will create clothing collections inspired by Disney, and the winner will get the chance to present their work in the Avon catalog.
On the eve of this event, we talked with an invited expert, the founder of the first Russian trendwatching agency Trendsquire Xenia Leri . A lecturer at the British Higher School of Design told Glamour about who can and cannot be considered trendsetters and what trends are really worth attention.
You can learn about this and much more in the project releases, where Ksenia Leri will not only meet with the finalists and talk about trendwatching, but also share important life hacks that young designers need. The tips received during the master class will help the participating fashion designers create successful commercial collections, taking into account the latest trends.
Please name the main fashion trends that you should focus on today.
Don’t expect 100% recommendations from me. We live in an era when the main trend can, perhaps, be called originality. Of the fashion whales, it is worth noting sportswear, casual style accessories, bright colors. But, in my opinion, the main trend is originality, self-expression through clothes. And here, of course, it is difficult to say which trends suit everyone, because, as you know, all girls are different.
Who do you think is the main fashion trendsetter today and why?
According to ratings and statistics, the main trendsetter is Olga Buzova . However, I would not say that she has a great influence on fashion, and despite her popularity and a large number of subscribers on social networks, I cannot call her the main trendsetters. Here I would like to quote the beautiful plus-size model Katya Zharkova . She tells and shows that you can have curvaceous and athletic body at the same time. A woman should not be a skinny skeleton. A beautiful girl can be completely different and remain original. This is the epitome of a trend.
Here I would like to mention, of course, famous girls from abroad, who also have a fairly strong influence. Among them, for example, the singer Beyoncé , she actively follows fashion and takes part in it, again, defending her right to the title of trendsetter with an unusual and non-standard figure. This, perhaps, is correct, because in our time non-standard is becoming the new norm and is welcomed. Any features of a person make him unique, make a girl attractive. We understand more and more that the unambiguous strict canons of beauty that have been imposed on us for several decades are outdated today. And boys don’t like standard girls, and girls don’t like standard boys.

The German Kindergarten was opened simultaneously with the German School in St. Petersburg at the Consulate General of Germany 11 years ago. According to the general concept, our kindergarten unites the languages and cultures of Germany, Russia and other countries. We believe that respect and trust for children will help to bring up confident and independent individuals who are ready for life in a modern intercultural society. nine0003
Why is the German Kindergarten a good choice for your child?
We value the individuality of each child. Children independently choose circles to visit (dance, chess, taekwondo, etc.), take an active part in choosing project topics. To prepare for school and study German and Russian, children are divided into small groups, while we take into account the individual pace of the child.
We work according to the Berlin concept of child adaptation to kindergarten, which is aimed at establishing a trusting relationship between the teacher and the child so that he feels at home in kindergarten. nine0003
Kindergarten age is great for learning a (second) language through play. German is the main language of our communication: communication is accompanied and supplemented by facial expressions, gestures, etc. In this way, children learn the language naturally, in accordance with their age, development and without any pressure.
The transition from the kindergarten to the German school is carried out according to a plan that was developed jointly with the school. For preschoolers, two educational projects are held: Lerninsel (Knowledge Island) and Zahlenland (Country of Numbers), meetings with the teacher responsible for the transition of children to school, a school rally, a visit to the school library, a trial day and much more. nine0003
We provide a wide range of materials for play, creativity and activities. We order educational materials from Germany. The kindergarten occupies two floors of a renovated and safe building.
We are glad to parents who are open to interaction with us. Thanks to the contact of parents with kindergarten staff, we can take into account the individual needs of each child. Our educators accompany parents at all stages of a child’s life in kindergarten, discussing both successes and difficulties. We are also very pleased with your participation in all our events! nine0003

nine0052 Groups of the German Kindergarten
In the younger group we accept up to 15 children from 2 to 3.5 years old. During the whole day there are two teachers in the group. Educators help kids learn German in the most natural way for this age – through play and communication, on the playground and in the canteen, during holidays and projects. The main task of this period is to introduce the child to the rituals and rules of the kindergarten and instill in him self-care skills.
We enroll children aged 4 to 6.5 in one of the 2 older groups. There are two educators in each group throughout the day. In older groups, teachers continue to communicate with children in German. In addition, children begin attending separate classes in German and Russian. To make these classes the most effective, the pupils of the two groups are divided into several subgroups. In the older groups, teachers focus on the development of the language competencies of each child and the formation of the amount of knowledge necessary for studying in the German school. nine0006

Create a snapping paper plate frog puppet!
This easy frog craft is a fun DIY toy to make and play with. It’s perfect for kids who are learning about frogs or lifecycles and makes a fun Spring or Summer craft idea. It’s also super easy to put together.
This kids craft idea was first published in 2013 and has been updated and reshared for today’s audience.
You might also like our frog on a lilypad craft
These easy frog puppets are a craft that’s been triggered by a childhood memory. I loved to make paper plate puppets back when I was a kid, so when I had kids of my own I wanted to share this activity with them too.
I had a fun afternoon putting these together with my preschoolers. They really loved them! Here is a pic of my daughter playing with one of the original frog puppets I made…
Cute, right? My how they change in seven years.
Today’s frog puppet has been modified slightly. You might notice that my adult hands are a bit too big to fit properly in the smaller-sized paper plates I’ve used this time around. For this reason, I’d suggest using the regulare-sized plates if you want your frog’s mouth to open fully (unless the owner will have preschool-sized hands – haha).
If you want you can add a long curling paper tongue inside the frog’s mouth, but we decided to leave it without.
How to make a paper plate frog puppet
You will need:
one paper plate per frog
construction card stock in two shades of red or pink – note, if you are using a large paper plate you’ll need a larger than standard piece of card stock, heavy scrapbook paper would probably be perfect. If you’re using paper plates in the smaller size ordinary A4 or US Letter sized card stock is fine
a piece of egg carton for the eyes
tissue paper (we’ve used two shades of green)
acrylic paint in white
pva glue
paint brush
scissors
lead pencil
stapler
black sharpie marker
a small scrap of yellow paper
How to:
Trace around your paper plate to get a matching circle shape of cardboard. Cut it out and fold it in half.
Fold the paper plate in half and use the fold line as a guide to cut it in half.
Trace around a half paper plate onto a different shade of red and use a lead pencil to sketch a “back of throat” shape including the hangy ball at the back (officially known as the palatine uvula – but nobody would know what I was talking about if I called it that). Cut the shape out and glue onto the top half of your folded piece of card stock.
Cut two shades of green tissue paper into squares. There are no rules for how big your squares need to be, you can make them all slightly different sizes if you like.
Staple the two half paper plates to the outside of the folded red cardboard to get your snapping frog framework. Stuff the inside pieces where your hands will go with newspaper or paper towel so that they keep their shape while gluing on the tissue paper squares. If you skip this step, the paper plate will distort in shape from the wet glue.
Mix your pva glue with water at a 50:50 ratio to create some DIY mod podge (or if you prefer you can use real mod podge).
Paint the paper plate with the glue and water mixture, and stick down the tissue paper squares. You can mix the two shades of green around at random or create more of a patter.
Paint more glue mix over the top of your squares to give it a shiny coating.
While that dries, trim a piece of egg carton into two cups to use as eyes, and paint them white.
Find a small circular object to trace around for the pupils in the eyes, we’ve used a small plastic lid. Trace a circle shape onto a small piece of yellow paper, fold the piece in half, then cut the shape out. Draw a black pupil in the centre of the eyes with your sharpie. Glue the round circles onto the egg carton so it looks like a set of eyes.
Once your paper plate has dried, trim the excess tissue paper away from the edges of your frog’s mouth.
Staple the eyes into place (or alternatively use a hot glue gun).
Draw to nostrils with your sharpie marker.
Now it’s time for the puppet show!

I hope you have a great time creating a frog finger puppet with this free pattern! Frog finger puppet is a fourth woodland finger puppet pattern that I share. You already might have mole finger puppet, bear finger puppet, and squirrel finger puppet. This frog craft project can be used during homeschooling, in class, at home. Finger puppets are a fantastic way to engage in learning by storytelling, acting, practicing grammar. For more ideas on using finger puppets, visit Six ideas for using finger puppets in class.
General instructions
This frog felt finger puppet is easy to make. It is stitched entirely by hand, using basic embroidery stitches such as running stitch, backstitch, French knot, whip stitch. Visit my website for the guide on hand embroidery stitches.
Hand stitches used in the frog finger puppet pattern
Instructions follow to make the felt finger puppet frog. The finished puppet is approximately 2.8 ” (7 cm) tall. The puppet is made from scraps of felt.
Finger puppets are not recommended for children under the age of 3.
This pattern includes the free template to make the frog puppet, a material and supply list, complete instructions, and supporting photos.
Three-strand embroidery floss and one-strand embroidery floss are used to embroider the frog puppet. Knot thread ends on the wrong side of felt.
TIP: Felt pieces can be pinned to the body shape to hold them in place until they are stitched.
Another option is to place a tiny dab of instant dry fabric glue on the reverse side of felt shapes and position them on the puppet’s body.
TIP: If you like to learn some tips on how to cut out felt pieces, you can read my post about 6 techniques for cutting felt shapes.
TIP: You are welcome to read how to trace on felt post if you want to learn more about transferring the pattern on felt for embroidery.
Materials & Supplies
Materials and Supplies needed:
frog finger puppet template
felt scraps: light green, dark green, white
embroidery floss: black, green, white
hand-sewing needles
small or embroidery scissors (these are the ones I use)
pins (optional – these are my favorites) or Clover wonder clips (optional)
fabric glue (optional)
tracing paper (optional – Check out my tutorial to learn more on tracing a pattern using a tracing paper)
freezer paper (optional – Check out my tutorial to learn how to use freezer paper for cutting precise shapes from felt)
HOW TO MAKE A SMILEY FROG FINGER PUPPET
1. Use the template provided to cut out all of the pieces from felt. See photo below.
2. Transfer the body embroidery, mouth and nostrils to the finger puppet. There are a few ways to do that (check my previous post on how to trace on felt). I chose the tracing technique for this puppet.
I drew the template on tracing paper with a marker. I attached the tracing paper with pins, and then I embroider the body embroidery, mouth and nostrils over the paper.
For the body embroidery, use three-strand black floss and sew individual stitches (I doubled them), where the three lines are on the frog finger puppet template. Using the same black floss, continue to embroider the mouth with the backstitch on the pattern line. Lastly, sew the nostrils with individual stitches (I went three times over).
Tear off the tracing paper at this point if you use the tracing technique.
3. Pin or glue (with a tiny dab) two white circles for eyes to the front of body shape, following the template. With one-strand white floss, sew whip stitch around the edges of the eyes to attach it. I do 4 whip stitches.
Using the french knot, sew the eyes in position with three-strands of black embroidery thread. I wrapped the thread 3 times around my needle so that the knot is more significant.
4. Place the frog finger puppet’s front and back together and begin joining the pieces with a running stitch close to the edge.
5. Your DIY: frog finger puppet made with Fun Cloth Crafts free pattern is ready for its happy owner.

How to sew a Frog | Journal of the Fair of Masters
Makhova Elena
Materials needed for work:
Cotton fabric.
Sintepon.
Glass granulate.
Glass eyes 10 mm.
You need to choose the material of two similar colors of green.
Cut out the fabric, taking into account that the pattern of the belly and part A of the muzzle, as well as the paired parts of the hands and feet, should be cut out of light-colored fabric or with a smaller pattern.
Sew the parts of the carcass, matching the marks on the patterns.
Sew the remaining parts.
Stuff the carcass tightly, adding glass granulate to the bottom.
Sew up the stuffing hole.
Stuff the rest of the pieces in the same way.
Sew the eyes onto the frog’s head.
Sew on the eyes, stitch the paws in the manner of the webs.
Next, we assemble the paws. We sew the shin to the thigh, and the foot to the shin.
Sew a brush to the hand.
Sew the legs to the carcass through the buttons.
Take a large needle with strong thread.
Piercing through the carcass and foot (the tail of the thread remains hanging), we thread the button, we stick it back into the foot, then into the carcass, we thread it through and pierce the second foot, thread the thread into the button, pierce the foot again and tie the tails of the threads into several knots .
It remains only to finish our little frog.
Draw a mouth along the seam, mark the nostrils.
And then turn on the fantasy and dress up our frog.
I hope this was helpful and interesting.

We sew a funny frog | Masters Fair Magazine
Natalya Morozova textile dolls
Today I want to share with you the secret of sewing a funny interior frog. The pattern is my own and I hope you enjoy it.
In order to sew a frog we need:
pattern;
cotton, two colors;
stuffing for toys;
scissors;
thread, needles;
acrylic paints;
satin ribbons, various decorations.
The pattern is given for printing on A4 sheet. The height of the frog according to this pattern is 54 centimeters.
Place the pattern on the fabric and trace. We cut it out, leaving a seam allowance of 0.7 – 1.0 cm. Next, we make a basting and sew. I want to say that it is very easy to sew such a frog by hand with a “back needle” seam, which, in principle, I did.
Cut off the excess with zigzag scissors. If there are no such scissors at hand, you can make notches at the folds with ordinary scissors.
Turn inside out. Personally, for the convenience of turning parts in difficult places, I use tweezers and scissors 🙂 You can also use a sushi stick.
Stuff the body of our frog tightly, filler should be used in small pieces. We sew the bottom of the body with a hidden seam. We stuff the lower paws tightly to the middle. We sew, forming a fold on the frog’s knee.
The top of the leg should not be stuffed too tightly. Then our frog will sit well. The place of stuffing is sewn up with a hidden seam. We carry out the same procedure with handles. You can stitch in the middle forming an elbow, or you can not do this.
Using a blind stitch, sew the arms and legs to the body. For the fortress, I stitched in a circle twice. My frog is almost ready. It remains to draw eyes and sew a beautiful bow.
Also, if you wish, you can dress the frog beautifully. My frog will live in the garden, but it can also look good in the children’s room. Yes, and anyone can sew it, it does not require serious sewing skills.

AMERICA’S MOST ACCREDITED
We’re so proud!
Nationally only 10% of daycares are accredited – nearly 100% of our learning centers are. That’s a big difference,
and that means KinderCare kids are getting the very best. Here’s why.
SCHOOL-READY
What Learning Looks Like
Our talented early-childhood teachers set kids down the path toward becoming lifelong learners in a positive, safe, and nurturing environment.
Petaluma KinderCare Programs
Infant Programs (6 weeks–1 year)
Leaving your baby in someone else’s care is a big step. Everyone at our
centers—most importantly, our naturally gifted infant teachers—will work with
you to make sure the transition goes smoothly. When you step into our infant
classroom, you’ll see how much we want your infant to feel safe, loved, and
ready to explore their world.
Toddler Programs (1–2 Years)
Everything in our toddler classroom is designed for little explorers. That’s
because a lot is going on at this age. When your child is wandering all over the
place, that means they’re learning and discovering new things every day. We’ll
help them explore their interests (and find new ones!) as they play and learn.
Discovery Preschool Programs (2–3 Years)
This age is filled with so much wonder and curiosity. That’s why we offer a ton
of books and toys and bring artwork down to kids eye level. Children in
discovery preschool also begin to learn how we all work together in a
classroom. Simple math and science, pretend play, and group play help them
get used to a more structured school setting.
Preschool Programs (3–4 Years)
This age is all about expression, when kids really start to form their own ideas
about what they want to play and how they want to create. Every day in our
preschool classroom, your child will explore science experiments, create
artwork, and play pretend—all the skills needed for their big next step:
kindergarten!
Prekindergarten Programs (4–5 Years)
When you walk into one of our pre-K classrooms, you’ll see artwork and
writing displayed around the room. Labels are everywhere to help kids connect
letters with words. You’ll also see pictures on the walls that reflect the families
in our community. Your child will also deepen their knowledge in language,
math, science, Spanish, and social skills.
Learning Adventures – Enrichment Program
Cooking Academy™ (3 – 12 Years)
In Cooking Academy, kids learn new recipes from cultures around the world and
develop a healthy relationship with food. They’ll whip up everything from Southwest
rainbow lettuce wraps to pumpkin muffins, building their skills in STEM, communication,
and more along the way. And yes—little chefs get to eat their culinary creations!
Music Explorers™ (2 – 4 Years)
KinderCare families are already giving a standing ovation to our newest Learning
Adventures program: Music Explorers! Kids will learn to sing, move, listen, play
instruments, and even create their own tunes. Our original curriculum blends math,

Phonics Adventures® (2 – 4 Years)
Learning how to read is a whole lot of fun at KinderCare! We help kids grow to love
books and words (and get ready for kindergarten) in our Phonics Adventures program.
From discovering the basics of vowels to practicing poetry, kids learn all about letters
and sounds in small-group lessons made just for their age group. (Bonus: Kids who
attend our phonics program are more prepared than their peers for school—and we
have the data to prove it.)
STEM Innovators (3-8 Years)
You’ve probably heard a lot about how important STEM education is for your child, but
what does that really mean? Our STEM Innovators program takes kids’ natural ability to
make sense of the world and applies it to robotics, chemistry, coding, geology, and
more. While your child experiments, they’ll discover how to use technology to do
amazing things!

Family Stories
Don’t take our word for it. Hear what our families have to say about our amazing center!
I am a first-time mother who went back to work full time after our daughter was born in July 2015. We, my infant girl and I, have been attending KinderCare in Petaluma for about eight weeks now.
I can’t tell you enough how incredible and wonderful your staff is at this facility. Being a first-time mother, I was very anxious about returning to work and the options I had for infant care are very limited. I was so fortunate to have contacted KinderCare and toured the facility many months in advance, to prepare for when I would return to work. The staff at KinderCare is truly amazing. They knew my name and child right away and made us feel “right at home” during a difficult transition time for us. They are considerate and supportive, extremely knowledgeable and offer incredibly focused attention on my little girl and her needs while also fostering her sense of community, individual growth and development. I couldn’t ever imagine the GIFT that KinderCare would be for her and us. At first, I was nervous that my “particular requests” for her care would get “lost” in the shuffle of caring for other infants, but right away the staff SHOWED me they had listened to my requests and treated me with total respect. I can’t say enough how much this meant to me. My infant is getting the BEST care I could have ever imagined and knowing how she is being cared for by the KinderCare staff for has completely lain my anxiety and fears to rest and allows me the confidence to be back at work. They are always making sure they communicate with me observations of her, exciting developmental events and tracking her overall health.
I don’t know every person on the KinderCare staff by name; however, they have always all treated me with kindness and consideration. They are an exceptional group of individuals who deserve a special note of recognition in that they bring 150% to the table, each day and everyday. Your company has a very special resource in these individuals and I encourage you to recognize the “above and beyond” the staff offers just as a normal part of their daily approach to the children they care for.
Thank you for the opportunity to express how wonderful the experience with KinderCare has been for our family.

Dear KinderCare Management,
My husband and I wanted to tell you about two of your amazing teachers, Miss Susie and Miss Christina in the infant room. Our son Luke has been in the care of Miss Susie and Miss Christina since he was five months old and this will be his last week with them before he moves to the toddler room. We are so sad that Luke will no longer be with these two amazing teachers. He has grown so attached to Miss Susie and Miss Christina as these ladies treat the kids as if they are their own. Not only do they take great care of our son and all of the other infants, but they truly love each child and it definitely shows. Our son (and my husband and I) are greatly going to miss Susie and Christina.
Miss Susie and Miss Christina should definitely be recognized, as they are the ones that give KinderCare the excellent reputation that it has.
Sincerely, Rob, Ashley and Luke Brown

Dear Ms. Susie, Ms. Jenn, Ms. Rana, Ms. Cindy, Ms. Libby, and everyone at KinderCare,
A huge thanks to all of you for your care and support and answering questions. I felt like such a huge step to put Ani in daycare, but you guys treat her (and us) like family. You’re all so warm and to have such a welcome reception has greatly reduced my fears. Thank you so much! We’re so grateful!

Ilsur Metshin evaluated kindergarten No. 395 after overhaul – News
Photo: Denis Gordiyko
(City of Kazan KZN.RU, December 6, Diana Zhilenkova). In the Moskovsky district of Kazan, the overhaul of the kindergarten No. 395 of a combined type, located on Serov Street, was completed. After the renovation, the design capacity of the preschool institution increased to 280 places, two nursery groups and one group for children with disabilities appeared. The mayor of the capital of the Republic of Tatarstan, Ilsur Metshin, assessed the results of the overhaul and talked with the designers who developed the project for the renovated preschool institution, and the head of the kindergarten. It is expected that he will receive pupils by the New Year.
“Whenever you come to kindergarten, you think what else can be done and how to be creative. But you made me very happy, well done! – praised I. Metshin designers. – When everyone – both designers and management – unites in the desire to make something beautiful, a flight of thought arises. I used to associate kindergartens with a certain melancholy, a little burnt porridge and waiting for my parents to come. But here, of course, everything is completely different. Let the children grow up happy in new comfortable conditions. The atmosphere contributes to this. Let the children bring this happiness from kindergarten to the street, home to their families and to our city, so that we have the happiest city. On the eve of the New Year, it turned out to be a good gift for residents and children.”
In a two-story brick building built in 1988 with an area of 2.5 thousand square meters, repair work started in the spring. In the kindergarten, the roof and facade, entrance groups and engineering networks were updated, windows were replaced, load-bearing structures were strengthened, injection was performed, the territory was landscaped, and shade canopies and small architectural forms were installed. The customer of the work was GKU “GISU RT”, the contractor – LLC “Stroyprogress”.
As Sergey Mironov, head of the administration of the Kirovsky and Moskovsky districts, told the Mayor, when choosing the design of the premises, the emphasis was placed on natural motives. Sand drawings appeared on the walls, conveying the atmosphere of the beach, and images of birds from their native land. Children can also see artificial nests of swallows here, as well as plant growing laboratories.
“Now children are more intellectually developed. But it is very important that the child understands what ecology is, loves nature and treats it with trepidation. Care for others, younger brothers, plants and yourself also begins with a careful attitude to nature, – explained the head of the kindergarten, Landysh Yarullina. “We will continue to support this direction.”
The pre-school institution has a music and sports halls, a theater studio, a methodological office, a teacher-psychologist’s office, medical, massage and physiotherapy rooms, as well as a catering unit and a laundry.
In total, kindergarten No. 395 is designed for 12 groups. At the moment, children do not attend it and are waiting for the opening of a preschool institution. For the duration of the work, they were distributed to nearby preschool institutions of the district. “The wishes of the parents were taken into account,” the manager noted. – The children were sent to kindergartens in the same microdistrict. Now they are waiting for the opening to return back. While we are holding master classes for children, these are adaptation events so that they get used to the new space,” L. Yarullina explained.
It should be noted that Kindergarten No. 395 took second place in the nomination “Best Renovation Object” at the Kazanysh Architecture and Construction Forum, which was organized last week in the Uram Extreme Park by the City Development Institute on the initiative of Kazan Mayor Ilsur Metshin.
In total, there are 312 pre-school educational institutions in the capital of the Republic of Tatarstan, which are attended by 76.3 thousand children. Enrollment in pre-school education is estimated at 69%. The occupancy of groups in kindergartens is 104 children per 100 places, the order in which children are placed is 7409human. In total, 12 preschool institutions of the city are included in the overhaul program this year.
There are 39 kindergartens in the Moscow region of Kazan. More than 6.4 thousand children are covered by preschool education.
Together with the head of the city, the head of the Education Department of the Executive Committee of Kazan Irek Rizvanov, the director of the Department for the maintenance and servicing of social institutions Petr Korolev and the general director of the contracting organization Stroyprogress LLC Alfred Khairullin examined the renovated preschool institution.
