A childcare center may not be the first thing you’d expect at a ski lodge. Small World Child Care center in Mammoth Lakes, California, is equipped with everything you’d find at any daycare facility. There are cribs made up in a separate room for napping, as well as toys, face painting, a play house and other child-friendly amenities. Most providers who successfully make it through the first few years eventually start considering the idea of whether or not they could afford some help with the daycare……

The Daily Walk

Many years ago I decided to add a daily walk around our neighborhood to our morning schedule. We started out small by walking around our long block. We clocked it in the car and found that it was six-tenth of a mile. That took about seventeen to twenty minutes depending on the skill set and age of the walkers…..

Transporting Daycare Kids

I know there are many types of agreements between parents and providers when it comes to having children in the provider’s vehicle. There are parents who want it for their kids and many who pay providers to transport their child to and from school and preschool. Vacancies of the company Fora Soft (Fora Soft)

We develop platforms for video surveillance, telemedicine and remote learning. We augment reality, recognize objects in video, create online cinemas. Our specialization is multimedia software.

We write for web, iOS, Android smartphones and smart TV. Our clients are in the USA, Europe, Australia, Africa.

We are 110. We have been working for 16 years. In 2021, niisrp.ru named us the best software developer in St. Petersburg out of 4,700 companies by growth rate.

Trying to make cool products…

The FRP.live DJ music pool is used by Sony Music, Virgin Records, Universal.

Super Power FX has a rating of 4. 6 out of 5 based on 5,700 AppStore ratings. And on Google Play it has 30 clones) This is a video editor that adds superpowers to videos: apps.apple.com/app/id842266876

The ipivs.com video surveillance system works with 2000 IP cameras for 400 organizations in the USA. These are police stations, centers for training doctors and protecting children.

Our projects: forasoft.com/projects/all

…but we don’t do things that are obviously not cool

When the intermediary refused to clarify the client’s needs and improve, we refused to work on the project. The German system for dentists would have fed a team of 7 for another 5 years.

We abandon only rotten projects. For example, where they cut the budget and do not let you do it conveniently. We first try to turn the border ones into cool ones.

We solve complex problems

Our applications stream video for 10,000 users at the same time. Or 10 if you need to test an idea inexpensively.

People connect to video-audio conferences from wired phones.

We make PokemonGo-style AR applications for concerts and tourists, and our employees – to look for shawarma)

We work on Kotlin, Swift, React, Node.js, Symfony, WebRTC, SIP. No routine support on legacy technologies.

We do not automate the work of accountants, because we have gathered people who are bored with it. We do not use 1C Bitrix and rarely work with CMS at all, because building from templates is too simple a task for our programmers.

Established processes

Teams of 3 to 10 people. We do 70% of projects from 0.

Analysts discuss needs with the client and draw a wireframe. These are the layouts of all pages with clickable buttons. According to them, designers create a clickable design.

Testers write test cases and go through them before each release. We automate the verification of test cases for unchanged parts of projects.

PMs lead SCRUM and Kanban methodologies. We maintain tasks in JIRA, and project documentation in Confluence. We come up with a SMART goal for each project, and the team keeps its achievement in mind all the time.

#eager2develop

Each department has an employee development plan by level. It contains skills and what to do to pump them in a fast and proven way. Each of them prepares a development plan for the year.

We provide mentors for beginners. They answer questions, evaluate knowledge, and review code. We do code reviews of projects manually and through a static code analyzer.

Friendly atmosphere – we strive for the same as at school and university. And there are goodies)

Once a week we get together in zoom. The director talks about new projects and employees – see Instagram in the News highlight. Every month in the office there is a mini-corporate with pizza and an after-party in a hookah bar. We play board games, PS, play with VR helmets.

Anniversaries of work are celebrated on a larger scale than DR. We donate smartphones, tablets, treadmills, even a rowing machine once)

10 minutes walk from Technolozhka to the office. This is a 3-storey office mansion: a loft, pouffes, a horizontal bar, a swing chair, coffee and cookies. We wear slippers)

We pay for lunches. VHI with dentistry – after a year of work. White RFP, reviewed every six months or more often. Vacation, sick leave – according to the Labor Code of the Russian Federation.
