Welcome to Our School

Welcome to our awesome Childtime educational daycare in Kingwood, TX. My name is April and I am the school director. Whether it’s providing loving care for Infants and Toddlers or participating in activities in our Preschool programs, I love interacting and watching the children grow and develop.

Our staff truly cares about each and every child and takes pride in watching them flourish and develop into individuals. Our teachers are all certified in CPR, First Aid and AED. They each complete more than 24 hours of training every year in early childhood education. All staff have background checks and FBI fingerprints before they are hired.

Each classroom has a Reggio Emilia-influenced curriculum that is based on developmental indicators specific to each age group. We have an open-door policy and enjoy when our families visit. I work hard to make sure everyone gets to know each other so they can share in experiences their child has had at our school.

We’re committed to keeping you connected throughout the day while your child is in our care. Get access to live streaming video of your child’s classroom, plus other real-time updates, with our exclusive mobile app for families, SproutAbout.

If you are looking for an education-driven child care in Kingwood, TX, then give us a call at Childtime and schedule a tour or just stop by and ring the doorbell today! We look forward to meeting you!

We loved it and have been here 7 years!

Verified Shopper

I am really happy with our experience at Childtime. The school does a great job at identifying the skills needed for kindergarten readiness and then helping the kids to learn these skills through structured activity and play. And while early education is important to us, what’s more important is the citizenship that our daughter is learning by being in a nurturing environment where she is encouraged

to display kindness and empathy and where negative behaviors are gently corrected. Raising a kind, caring person is the most important thing to me and I really feel like the environment at Childtime is conducive to this.

The museum, located in the Izmailovsky Kremlin, will tell you how the very first cartoons appeared. This is where real magic happens, because Soviet and modern cartoon characters collide in the exhibition spaces. Children will see not only famous heroes, but also exhibits that have become historical: for example, the table on which the first episodes of “Just you wait!” were made, or the drum in which the pictures change so abruptly that they turn into a movie. In addition, the museum periodically holds master classes where children create their own cartoons.

Parks and places for walking with children in Samara

Where to take a walk with children, enjoy nature and have fun, ride attractions? Samara offers a lot of options. The city has many cultural parks and walking areas.

Park of Culture and Leisure. Gorky

  • Address: Novo-Sadovaya st./1st clearing.

Traditionally, the largest park in the city is called the Park of Culture and Leisure. There is one in Samara – it bears the name of the proletarian writer Maxim Gorky. The second name of this park is Zagorodny, it is more popular with the townspeople.

The park combines a recreational area with attractions and active entertainment – a rope town, the Ford Boyard reality quest – and architectural sights and art objects.

Attractions have largely been preserved from the old days – a Ferris wheel, swings, a fun room, a shooting gallery – all this is familiar to several generations of citizens. The Aerokino summer cinema, which disappeared in many cities, but still operates in Samara, evokes nostalgia, in which screenings are organized in the open air.

Strukovsky garden

  • Address: st. Maxim Gorky / st. Vilonovskaya.

The oldest forest park area was reconstructed and landscaped in 2018 and turned into a modern interesting space for walking and active recreation for adults and children. In the historically established garden and park ensemble, the old architectural objects have been preserved and updated, and new ones have appeared.

The Boy and Girl under an Umbrella fountain has been known since pre-revolutionary times, it is the oldest fountain in Samara. Nowadays, LED lighting is connected to it, and the fountain looks spectacular in the dark.

The park has a playground with a playground and a safe rubber crumb surface. Fall as much as you like! On the summer stage and the covered stage, concerts and events for children and adults of various themes are held.

Gagarin Park

  • Address: Moskovskoe shosse/ul. 22nd Party Congress.

One of the city’s favorite parks was opened in 1976. Its name is justified by the installation here in 2011 of the bust of the first cosmonaut, created by the sculptor A. A. Apollonov.

The park has a town called “Three Bears” with rides for every taste and budget. Children will enjoy traditional attractions, known since Soviet times, and modern ones, in 5D format.

An artificially dug canal flows through the territory of the park, and rental of water bicycles, boats and electric boats designed especially for children is organized here. You can get acquainted with the territory of the park by going around it on a train. There are horse and pony rides. In winter, the skating rink is open.

Voronezh Lakes Park

  • Address: prosp. Kirov / st. Stara Zagora.

Surrounded by Moskovskoye Highway and two streets – Voronezhskaya and Staro-Zagorskaya – there is a green area that combines nature and entertainment. The name of the park speaks for itself – there are three reservoirs on its territory. The origin of the lakes raises questions.

Some consider them man-made, others point to the spring character of the reservoirs. Both versions are announced on the information plate at the entrance. Part of the park, including lakes and an oak grove with trees aged three centuries, is considered a protected area and since 1996 has the status of a natural monument.

On the territory there are facilities for active recreation – sports grounds and a skate park, which also attracts teenagers. Entertainment for the younger age group is also presented in the Voronezh Lakes park – two playgrounds, rental of children’s cars. You can also ride a catamaran. While mothers and children are relaxing and walking, fathers can indulge in their favorite male hobby, one of the available entertainments in the park is fishing.

Park of Culture and Leisure named after the 50th Anniversary of October (“Park of Metallurgists”)

  • Address: Tashkent lane/st. Stavropolskaya

The park with a typical Soviet name was set up in 1968 next to a metallurgical plant, and therefore it is often called the park of metallurgists among the people. The walking green area with an area of more than 15 hectares is designed for a relaxing holiday, walks and active entertainment.

Sports grounds are located here, vehicles are rented. The park has a lake. The pond is decorated with a fountain, embodying the image of the heroine of Pushkin’s fairy tale, the Swan Princess. With children, you can ride on the lake on catamarans or a boat.

The range of entertainment has increased after a recent renovation. One of its results was the installation of attractions. There are few of them, and they are mostly for children: “Solnyshko”, “Shell”, “Corsair”, a traditional children’s carousel with horses, etc.

Plant lovers of all ages will enjoy visiting the Botanical Garden of Samara University. In it, in addition to plants familiar to the Volga region, you can see rare and exotic plants, since the only greenhouse in the middle Volga region is arranged in the Garden.

Tropical and subtropical plants “live” in the greenhouse. Visitors can see not only how they grow, bloom, but also how crops such as the coffee tree, avocado, guava, date palms, etc. bear fruit. You can walk around the garden for free, but you will have to pay for the tour, but it’s worth it, because Gardens will answer the most tricky questions of young visitors.

Samara embankment

In the city on the mighty Volga River, the embankment is one of the centers of attraction for tourists. Those who live in the capital do not need my advice. Information, rather, for visitors to the city. Soon I will prepare a separate children’s guide to Moscow, and here I will briefly note what is worth seeing with children in the capital.

If the child is in Moscow for the first time, show him Red Square . It is interesting to look at the setting of the guard, to hear how the Moscow chimes beat, to see St. Basil’s Cathedral. With schoolchildren, you can look into the Armory and other museums of the Kremlin. And then go to GUM to try their signature ice cream there.

After that, you can walk to Central Children’s World (TsDM). In it, climb up to the observation deck on the top floor and look into the nostalgic museum of childhood (to show children the toys that their parents played with). There is a children’s city of professions Kidburg in the Central Children’s House. It and a similar KidZania project are also available in other shopping centers.

VDNH is another place worth visiting with children. Here we look at Model of Moscow (it is free), we go to Museum of Cosmonautics (children’s programs, interesting exhibits and space food), we buy tickets for a water show at Moskvarium.

Roller skating on the Vorobyovs, and then sit on the cable car with views of the Moscow River. Are you afraid of heights? Then choose a ride on the river bus. I called a lot on the embankment, but it’s cheaper to buy tickets online.

Moscow City Towers. Economy option: just admire their view from the Bagration Bridge, more expensive one – climb the tower itself and visit the Ice Cream Factory at the very top.

There is also a wonderful planetarium in Moscow (it is better to take tickets for a session convenient for you online), next to it is a zoo, two circuses, children’s theaters, attractions on Dream Island and the world-famous Tretyakov Gallery.

St. Petersburg

An impromptu concert on a summer evening in the Summer Garden. The musician-puppeteer is supposedly called Leonid Kondakov / photo by the author

In the cultural capital of Russia, one can get confused with children. So that a trip to St. Petersburg does not turn into an idle and painful wandering along the Nevsky, make a plan in advance and buy tickets where possible, book excursions.

Here is an approximate list of places in St. Petersburg where to go with children:

  • Petrovskaya water area and Grand layout (you can choose one of them) and “I want more”)
  • Peter and Paul Fortress (try to be in time by 12:00 to hear a shot from a cannon)
  • Zoo (it’s not bad in St. Petersburg)
  • Cat cafe (for cat lovers and cute photos)
  • Summer garden with fountains
  • Boat trip along the Neva or along the canals
  • Legendary confectionery “Sever”
  • Children’s playground-ship in New Holland

This year, for example, the husband insisted on the Kunstkamera, but the daughter was not delighted with going there. It was hard to walk in the stuffy halls in a mask, the hall with alcoholized babies plunged me into horror. As a result, we left there quite quickly and with mixed impressions. There are excursions for children around the Hermitage. It is better to take them or quests, or come up with something yourself, otherwise the child will be hard and uninteresting.

There is also a wonderful Water Museum in St. Petersburg . We really liked it there. But I don’t advise taking children to draw bridges, unless those who are already older and do not fall asleep until two in the morning. For kids, it’s too late and tiring. And it’s still cold from the water.

Yaroslavl

Fountains on Strelka / photo by the author

You can start the walk from visiting the Golden Ring show layout , continue with the fountains on Strelka. On the Yaroslavl Ferris Wheel , each of the booths is named after one of the Russian cities.

Young space lovers will appreciate the cozy planetarium with a small space museum on the 2nd floor. I advise you to visit Einstein Museum , it has a lot of interactive and unusual. In parting, do not forget to rub the paw of the Yaroslavl bear to return to Yaroslavl again. Just before that, be sure to check out the nostalgic museum “My Favorite Bear” . Children will be interested in it, and parents will remember their childhood and favorite toys.

Kostroma

On an excursion to the Cheese Museum / photo by the author

The most interesting city of the Golden Ring for family trips, although it is located farthest from Moscow. Keep a list of “children’s” places in Kostroma:

  • Snegurochka Tower. With the light hand of the writer Ostrovsky, Kostroma began to be considered the birthplace of the Snow Maiden.
  • Cheese Museum. Fun and tasty museum. It is better to take a tour with a tasting.
  • Museum of Wooden Architecture. It is not only for children, but rather for adults. But it is very pleasant to take a walk with children there, at the same time introducing them to the history of peasant life. You can enter most of the houses.
  • Elk farm. The Sumarokovskaya nomadic farm stands in one place in winter, and moves around in the warm season. She is not in Kostroma itself, but nearby. Call the farm for the exact location. In the guide to Kostroma, we talk about it in detail.
  • Theater and Theater Costume Museum. The Kostroma Drama Theater is one of the oldest in Russia. And Kostroma itself is the birthplace of the founder of the Russian theater Fyodor Volkov. It is worth going to this theater if you get to Kostroma. Children’s performances are held at 12:00 on weekends. If you can’t get into the theater, take a look at the Theatrical Costume Museum in a beautiful old building.

Pereslavl-Zalessky

The Museum of the Iron is one of the funniest museums in Pereslavl / photo by the author

Also a good option for traveling with the whole family. The city is only 2 hours drive from Moscow and is great for weekend trips.

Lake Pleshcheyevo and the cherished Blue-stone, where it is customary to make wishes, cute little museums, a chic dendrological garden, delicious cafes and pastry shops.

The most interesting museums to visit with children: “Horse in a coat”, iron and teapot museums . At the Alexander Nevsky Museum , children will get acquainted with Russian history and the life of the great Russian commander and saint.

There is also Berendey’s House in Pereslavl . There you can visit the fairy-tale chamber or sign up for a master class. Not far, in the village of Talitsy, there is an excellent Museum of Steam Locomotives. It is also called “Cuckoo” (the name of the narrow gauge railway). In it, those who wish can ride a hand railcar.

Myshkin

In the Mouse Kingdom of the Mouse Museum / photo by the author

Not officially included in the Golden Ring. It is located near Uglich, Rybinsk, Kalyazin. Adults will be interested in these cities, and I advise children to leave the small and cozy Myshkin.

Fun fact. The city with the name Myshkin is in the popular children’s cartoon “Fantasy Patrol”. Of course, the cartoon town is different from the original. But even in the real Myshkin it will be interesting for children if the program is planned correctly.

Where to go with children in Myshkin:

  • Mouse Museum. The mouse is the main brand of the city.
  • Mouse Chambers. Theatrical tours can be visited with an excursion as part of a group.
  • Makhaev Dvor – museum of Myshkin merchants (programs with tea drinking).
  • Linen and felt boots museum.
  • Museum of retro technology “Myshkinsky samokhod”.

Kolomna

Summer in Kolomna / photo by the author

This city near Moscow is not inferior to the pearls of the Golden Ring in terms of the number of attractions, various interesting things and activities. Those with a sweet tooth will especially like it in Kolomna. There are as many as two pastila museums and Kalachnaya with delicious Russian oven kalachi (you can bake it yourself or buy it to go).

In the fragrance museum Fragrant Joys you will make soap from natural ingredients and get acquainted with the history of perfumery in Russia. Stay at Shvedov’s confectionery and drink tea with delicious sweets there. At the Museum of the Gramophone you will learn how the gramophone differs from the gramophone and hear how they sound.

And in Kolomna there are museums of photography, tram, dolls, mead and a wonderful Art communal apartment . In general, you can come to this city more than once, and always with children. He will always surprise you with something new, tasty and interesting.

Our guide to Kolomna

Baltiyskiy Bereg

Those who have ventured into the Russian Baltic will definitely not only visit its capital, but also drive along the coast, see Svetlogorsk, Yantarnoye, and the Curonian Spit. For trips with children, I especially recommend the following two cities.

Kaliningrad

Research vessel “Vityaz” in the Museum of the World Ocean, Kaliningrad / photo by the author

The former capital of East Prussia is fraught with many mysteries and legends. You can return to this city endlessly and there will always be not enough time to see everything. But, if we are with children, we need to show them the main treasures of the old Koenigsberg, do not forget to have fun and take a break from the busy program.

7 best places in Kaliningrad to visit with children:

  1. Kant Island. The main thing to see here is the Cathedral. Near one of the walls is Kant’s grave. After visiting the cathedral (there are organ concerts), you can go to the Fish Village and sit in one of the street cafes.
  2. Museum of the World Ocean. The ticket price includes a visit to the submarine and the vessel “Vityaz”.
  3. Amber Museum. The largest on the Baltic coast.
  4. Kaliningrad Zoo. Near the entrance there is a sculpture with 4 animals: hippopotamus, fallow deer, donkey and badger. They are the only survivors of the fighting on the territory of the zoo in May 1945.
  5. Friedland Gate Museum. To this can be added the Bunker and museums in Forts No. 5 and No. 11.
  6. Altes Haus Apartment Museum. There you will be transported to the beginning of the 20th century, to the apartment of an ordinary middle class burgher. Things after the tour can be examined and taken in hand. My daughter was kindly allowed to play the piano.
  7. Yunost Park with attractions. Many different rides, a Ferris wheel with views of the city, an upside down house, a picturesque pond and a boat station will be a pleasant end to your trip to Kaliningrad.

Zelenogradsk

Cat graffiti on the streets of Zelenogradsk / photo by the author

The best coastal resort for families with children. Convenient access to the beach, a wide promenade with playgrounds and panoramic swings overlooking the sea, cute museums of Cats and Angels, sculptures and graffiti with cats throughout the city. Plus delicious cafes with sweets and ice cream – children will be delighted with Zelenogradsk. The symbol of the city is the fat and important Prussian cat, which is why there are so many felines, real and painted, all over the city.

Another advantage of this city is that it is convenient to travel to the Curonian Spit from here. Zelenogradsk is the entrance gate to the protected area. The spit begins at the eastern borders of the city.

Southern resorts

Anapa

Flower clock in Anapa

The advantages of Anapa for holidays with children are clear. These are beaches with pleasant soft sand and convenient entry into the sea, a lot of entertainment, water parks, all-inclusive hotels. Anapa has a beautiful embankment with a bunch of playgrounds. There are many interesting places and natural attractions in the surroundings. Nearby Utrish National Park .

Personally, I don’t like places where an apple has no place to fall during the season. But I can’t write about Anapa in this thread either. Anapa is good with children outside the peak season. In autumn it is not so crowded. In winter and early spring, with the onset of the ski season, Anapa compares favorably with Sochi, where there are crowds at this time. Many remote parents prefer Anapa to Sochi and spend the winter months there.

In the summer with children, choose accommodation not in the city center. Take a closer look at the villages near Anapa – Vityazevo, Dzhemete, the village of Blagoveshchenskaya . The sea is cleaner there, and the beaches are good. And for a rest like a savage, go to Bugaz Spit . Seeing dolphins near the coast is not at all unusual there.

Sochi – Rosa Khutor

The Skybridge suspension bridge in Skypark is not at all childish entertainment

Sochi is beautiful and rich. In order for the rest here to be 100%, I advise the same thing – to go off-peak season. Keep in mind that Sochi is not only a beach destination. Rosa Khutor on Krasnaya Polyana is the most popular ski resort in Russia. When the skiing season opens, it gets crowded.

Where to go with children in Sochi:

  • Sochi Park. Modern amusement park, proudly called “Russian Disneyland”. Included in the top 25 best parks in Europe.
  • Dolphinarium Riviera. One of the largest European dolphinariums with excellent shows.
  • Oceanarium. With a 44 m transparent tunnel, a huge viewing window and 30 aquariums.
  • Museum of Nikola Tesla in the Olympic Park. Exciting scientific and electrical Tesla shows. This place is for older kids. The show is not allowed for children under 6 years of age and pregnant women.
  • Monkey nursery. Funny and funny, they will cheer up any bore and crybaby. Scientific nursery, located in Adler.
  • Husky Center in Sochi. Ethnocenter on Mount Akhun.

Gelendzhik

The largest outdoor water park in Russia is located in Gelendzhik

I included this resort in the selection, but I have an ambivalent attitude towards it.

On the one hand, there are many advantages for families with children in Gelendzhik. Here, there are places to go and things to see:

  • 2 cableways,
  • wonderful safari park,
  • Zolotaya Bukhta water park (the largest in Russia),
  • dolphinarium,
  • beautiful embankment with playgrounds.

Gelendzhik embankment is listed in the Guinness Book of Records as the longest sea promenade in the world. There is an amusement park. 20 minutes from the city is the village Kabardinka. Worth a trip there to take a walk with children in a very beautiful Old Park.

But there are also significant disadvantages, the main one being problems with water. In summer there are a lot of people. The sea in the center is dirty. For swimming, it is better to choose the surroundings of Gelendzhik.

Read more about Gelendzhik and its beaches in our guide.

Evpatoria

Sunset on the swan lake Sasyk-Sivash near Evpatoria

From the Crimean resorts, I took two in the selection – Evpatoria and Yalta. I selected not by the purity of the sea, but by the availability of infrastructure and interesting things in the city itself and nearby.

If you prefer a quiet vacation or go on a trip with very young children, you do not need to go to Yevpatoria. There are too many people here in the summer, families with children. From year to year, as in Anapa, there are outbreaks of rotovirus (inevitably when the sea is warm). Take a better look at Kanaka , the surroundings and outskirts of Feodosia and other less crowded places. Here is our article to help.

I’ll tell you what to see with children in Yevpatoria.

Banana Republic is the largest water park in Crimea with a lot of attractions for the whole family. There is another water park “At Lukomorye” , it is smaller and closer to the city center. This is a themed water park designed in the style of Pushkin’s fairy tales. In Yevpatoriya there is the largest dolphinarium in Crimea . He works all year round. There are also Aquarium, Tropic Park and Dino Park with a rope town. Museum “Pirates of the Black Sea” will attract all fans of Jack Sparrow and lovers of sea adventures.

Yevpatoria has many delicious confectioneries with local sweets. In Frunze Park rides and trampolines for kids. Children’s Theater “Golden Key” gives very cool performances. This is probably the best children’s theater in Crimea. Older students will be interested in the historical sights of ancient Evpatoria.

Yalta

Pelicans roaming freely in the Yalta Zoo “Skazka” / photo by the author

Not the best resort on the Crimean coast for a beach holiday, especially with children. Yalta takes on something else – gorgeous views, magnificent parks and palaces located in the vicinity, a large selection of entertainment.

It is better to come to Yalta not in summer at all. Or in the summer choose hotels with their own comfortable beaches.

TOP-7 places for trips with children in Yalta:

  1. Skazka Zoo. It was opened by Oleg Zubkov, the one who owns the Taigan. The child and I were both there and there. If you are interested, write in the comments, I will tell you about both zoos.
  2. Glade of fairy tales. She’s next to the zoo. Wooden sculptures (heroes of Russian fairy tales) are scattered around the park.
  3. Small farm. Here you can communicate with animals, feed them. It is located next to the Glade of Fairy Tales.
  4. Crocodillarium.
  5. Aivazovsky and Nikitsky Botanical Gardens . They are in the vicinity of Yalta. Both parks are wonderful. If there is no time for two, choose Aivazovsky – a must-have place for beauty. You can play all day long.
  6. Atlantis Aquapark. Large, at the hotel of the same name, but open to everyone.
  7. Ai-Petri . Not worth it with kids, but just right with schoolchildren. Is it possible to visit Crimea and not climb Ai-Petri?

Read more in our article about Yalta.

The estate of the Russian Father Frost is located about 11 km from Veliky Ustyug. It is open not only in winter, you can come at any time of the year.

What is on the territory:

  • hotel complex (apartments in wooden towers),
  • cafes and restaurants,
  • branch of the Moscow zoo with reindeer and other would be nice to be there),
  • Winter Garden,
  • Santa Claus Smithy.

During the New Year holidays, rooms in the hotel on the territory run out quickly. Hotels in the city itself are bought out by travel agencies and sold for package tours. Prices rise sharply. If you want to go on your own in the midst of the holidays (a week before and 2 weeks after the New Year), take care to find places to stay in advance and be prepared that you will have to pay more for the pleasure of visiting Santa Claus on the New Year than at other times. At the end of January, the excitement subsides and prices go down.

But these places are interesting not only for their patrimony. Do not miss the opportunity, see the city of Veliky Ustyug itself, the wooden architecture of the Russian North, ancient temples. In Veliky Ustyug there is a Father Frost post office and the Fashion House, museums of New Year’s toys and New Year’s greeting cards.

Kazan

Ekiyat Puppet Theater in Kazan / photo by A. Pyltsyna

It is better to come to the capital of Tatarstan during the warm season. Near it there are many interesting places where you should go with children. For example, island city of Sviyazhsk.

In Kazan itself, on the territory of the Kremlin, there are interesting museums. Take the children to the Museum Panorama of Kazan. Wander around Staro-Tatar settlement with a quest tour. And then have fun with the whole family in Riviera Water Park with an outdoor pool (there is a minus: a lot of people). Or go to Kyrlay amusement park. Take a ride on the impressive Around the World Ferris Wheel, where each booth represents one of the world’s tourist capitals.

You should also go with children to puppet theater “Ekiyat” , similar to a palace from an oriental fairy tale, and to the Kazan village Tugan Avalym (it is next to the theater). There you can attend master classes or take a photo in national costumes.

There are many playgrounds, carousels, cafes on the Kremlin Embankment, and bike paths. Kazan has delicious local dishes: echpochmak, chak-chak. Take a look at Chak-chak Museum . Excursions in it are held with tea drinking and master classes. And in the end, climb the giant Kazan – a local attraction, a registry office and an observation deck at the same time. From it you can clearly see the Kazan Kremlin.

Here you will find a guide to Kazan

Samara

Samara, the Volga River

In this Volga town, at first glance, there is not much to do with children. But I advise you to take a closer look at it. Especially now, in the face of restrictions and prohibitions, Samara can be a good option for a holiday with children on the Volga. In Samara itself and its environs, there are good sandy beaches with a convenient descent, in addition, there are places to go and things to see in the city itself.

The oldest puppet theater in Russia is located in Samara. There is children’s art gallery , which is the best place to start introducing children to art. The “Children’s Philharmonic” project holds concerts for very young children with their parents.

There is also Alexei Tolstoy’s estate museum (author of The Golden Key) with an interactive exhibition-quest based on the fairy tale about Pinocchio. The Samara Literary Museum offers quests for children based on other children’s books (for example, Findus and Petson).

Space Museum with a Soyuz rocket at the entrance introduces the history of cosmonautics in the USSR. Chocolate Museum is open for those with a sweet tooth. From entertainment – “City of Masters” (similar to Moscow “KidZania”), Wonder Park “Galileo”. For walks with children: Gagarin Park and the Strukovsky Garden, the Botanical Garden and the embankment. And also boating and boating on the Volga. In the vicinity of Samara, there are many secluded sandy beaches for a relaxing holiday with kids.

Samara is interesting for both children and adults. You will find more interesting places in our guide to Samara.

Kaluga

Dragon Bridge in Vihlyandiya Park, Kozelsk

A good option for a short trip with children from the capital. Kaluga is located about 3.5 hours from Moscow. There are a lot of interesting things in the vicinity of Kaluga and in the Kaluga region: the ethnographic complex “Ethnomir”, the bird park “Sparrows” (it is better to book 2 days for visiting the two territories), Museum of Garbage (don’t let the name scare you, the museum is very interesting) , art park Nikola-Lenivets.

70 km from Kaluga is located Kozelsk , a well-known center of Russian pilgrimage (Optina Pustyn is located nearby). In the very center of Kozelsk, a wonderful fairy-tale park “Vikhlyandiya” is open, and next to it is the park “Three Bogatyrs”.

In Kaluga itself, it is worth seeing the Museum of the History of Cosmonautics. Tsiolkovsky – the largest in Europe, opened with the participation of Yuri Gagarin and Sergei Korolev. Kaluga is the birthplace of the “father” of Russian cosmonautics Tsiolkovsky. In addition to the museum, there is a house where K. E. Tsiolkovsky lived.

In “Kaluga-Park” (Park of Culture and Leisure) you can ride rides and climb trails in the “Jumanji” rope park.

Tula

The main brand of the city is Tula gingerbread / photo by the author

After the reconstruction of the central part and the embankment, Tula has become a mega-popular destination for weekend trips with children.

My daughter and I were in Tula before reconstruction in 2015 and after – in 2020. During this time, the city has undergone dramatic changes. Most impressed with the new Embankment along the Upa River. This is a modern urban space with trendy cafes, gazebos, interesting children’s and sports grounds, and bike paths.

Nearby – Tula Kremlin . You should go there, take a walk around the territory, buy souvenirs – the famous Tula gingerbread and Belevskaya marshmallow (Belev is a city in the Tula region where this ancient delicacy is produced). In Tula there is Gingerbread Museum (tours by appointment, with tea drinking). Next to the Kremlin Museum of Samovars (in 2020 it was closed for repairs, now it has reopened with a renewed exposition). Impressive Museum of Weapons in the shape of the helmet of an ancient Russian hero is modern and interactive.

You should definitely set aside a day for a trip to Yasnaya Polyana – the estate of Leo Tolstoy, tell the children the legend of the “green stick” and find the writer’s unusual grave in the forest. If you manage and time permits, go to the estate of the artist Polenov (about 80 km along the highway).

My daughter smiles like crazy when we walk in and when she sees her teachers she smiles and laughs. Love the ladies in the baby room!

The teachers seem to really love my daughter. And even better, my daughter seems to love them too. She’s always smiling at them and she seems so happy.

My kids have been with the school for over 8 years now, since they were 8 weeks old, so we have gone through all of the programs – infants, pre-school, pre-k, before-after school, and summer camp 🙂
Love the hour, and the teachers are wonderful (you have a combination of sweet and stricter teachers), the center is clean, and we have nothing to worry about during the day while the kids are there.

We’ve had an excellent experience. The teachers in the infant room are so kind and nurturing to our daughter, and we feel confident that when she’s at daycare she’s getting plenty of love and attention. The teachers seem to really care about her and the other children in her class.

The staff and directors at this center have been like family to my children. We have appreciated the years of care and concern shown to students at this center. As parents in this school for more than 6 years, we have watched the facility evolve, and the staff change over time as leaders understandably come and go. The overwhelming ability to keep our children safe and happy, while constantly learning,

has kept us a part of the Childtime family. We are thankful for the lifelong skills our children have gained and for years of peace of mind while we were away at work.

About the Provider

Description: Childtime’s educational philosophy is based on the Reggio Emilia approach, named after the Italian city and the surrounding villages where the method took root after World War II.
