Brain Building

Learn through life’s everyday moments

During a calm moment, invite your child to think of ideas to help when they feel stressed. They can try using words to explain feelings, hitting something that can’t be hurt, or counting numbers. See what works and brainstorm new ideas.

See what your child is learning

Asking your child to think of ideas to help manage stress helps in several ways. They can learn to manage their feelings and behavior. You’re also helping them learn to take on challenges.

Milestones

Skills toddlers develop as they play, learn, speak, act, and move are called milestones. Learn about milestones to help you understand your toddler’s development and act early if you have concerns.

Around 2 years old, many toddlers:

    • Point to things or pictures when they’re named

    • Know names of familiar people and body parts

    • Say sentences with 2 to 4 words

    • Repeat words overheard in conversation

    • Follow simple instructions, like “pick up your shoes and put them here”

    • Find things even with 2 or 3 layers covering them

    • Begin to sort shapes and colors

    • Complete sentences and rhymes in familiar books

    • Play simple make-believe games

    • Build towers with 4 or more blocks

    • May start to use one hand more than the other

    • Name things in a picture book, such as a cat, bird, or dog

    • Stand on tiptoe

    • Begin to run

    • Climb onto and down from furniture without help

    • Walk up and down stairs holding on

    • Throw ball overhand

    • Make or copy straight lines and circles

    • Have 3 ounces of grains daily (such as 1 cup of breakfast cereal plus 1 cup of rice)

    • Have 1 cup of vegetables daily (such as 2 medium carrots OR 1 large tomato)

    • Have 2 cups of fruit daily (such as 1 small apple plus 1 banana)

    • Have 2 ounces of meat and beans daily (such as 2 sandwich slices of turkey OR a ½ cup of lentils)

    • Have 2 cups of milk daily

    • Have at least 30 minutes of adult-led physical activity

    • Sleep about 12–14 hours per day

    • Have 1 or 2 daytime naps

    • Stay on schedule with shots

Act early by talking to a doctor, teacher, or social worker if your child:

    • Doesn’t use 2-word phrases (for example, “drink milk”)

    • Doesn’t know what to do with common things, like a brush, spoon, or fork

    • Doesn’t copy actions and words

    • Doesn’t follow simple instructions

    • Doesn’t walk steadily

ECEAP & Head Start | Washington State Department of Children, Youth, and Families

ECEAP (pronounced “E-Cap”) is the Early Childhood Education and Assistance Program funded by Washington State for children 3 and 4 and, in some locations, infants or toddlers who are younger than 3 years old.

Head Start is funded by the federal government for children ages 3 and 4 and, in some locations, pregnant women and children birth to age 3.

Both ECEAP and Head Start include:
  • Free early learning child care or preschool to support child’s development and learning. In some locations, Head Start may also offer home-based services.
  • Family support and parent involvement.
  • Child health coordination and nutrition.
  • Services responsive and appropriate to each child’s and family’s heritage and experience.

Children who attend ECEAP and Head Start learn to manage their feelings, get along with others and follow classroom procedures. They build the beginning skills for reading, math and science. The programs work closely with parents to support their children’s health and education and to meet family goals. They help families access medical and dental care and social services.

Children in this type of high-quality program nationwide are:
  • Healthier when they start kindergarten.
  • Less likely to be in special education or repeat a grade in school.
  • More likely to graduate from high school and go on to college.
  • Less likely to become pregnant as a teen or become involved in a crime.
  • More likely to be employed and to earn more as an adult.

More About the Programs

  • Head Start
  • ECEAP
  • Head Start is for 3- to 5-year-olds.
  • Early Head Start is for pregnant women and children birth to age three. It promotes healthy prenatal outcomes, enhances the development of infants and toddlers, and promotes healthy family functioning. Children are served in their homes or in centers.
  • Migrant and Seasonal Head Start is for pregnant women and children birth to age five give in communities with migrant and seasonal workers.
  • Tribal Head Start serves American Indian and Alaska Native children birth to age five and their families. Services are located on or near reservations.
  • ECEAP is for 3- to 5-year-olds.
    • Part Day classes are 2 ½ or more hours, several days a week, during the school year.
    • School Day classes are 5.5-6.5 hours per day, 4 or 5 days a week, during the school year.
    • Working Dayclasses are at least 10 hours a day, year round, combining child care and ECEAP. Parents must meet work or training requirements.
  • Early ECEAP is for 0- to 3-year-olds.
    • Classes are up to 10 hours a day, year round. Parents must meet work or training requirements.

Enrollment

Most children are eligible for ECEAP and Head Start based on their age and family income. Up to 10% of ECEAP and Head Start slots can be filled by children above the income requirement who have multiple support needs, including:

  • Environmental factors such as homelessness, family violence, chemical dependency, foster care, or incarcerated parents.
  • Developmental factors such as developmental delay or other special needs.

In addition, children with disabilities who qualify for special education services and/or previously participated in certain birth to age three programs are also eligible for ECEAP.

After eligibility is determined, children are prioritized for enrollment as space is available in their communities. While ECEAP and Head Start have similar eligibility criteria, there are some differences:

  • Head Start
  • ECEAP

Head Start children must be 3 to 5 years old for preschool Head Start; pregnant or 0 to 3 years old for Early Head Start, and:

Home – Building Kidz School

While seeking a new preschool for two of my three children (4 months and 4 years), I stumbled upon the Building Kidz Schools and their newest location, Redwood City. My family is in process of relocating to the Bay Area and Stephanie has been so accommodating! We were able to schedule a virtual tour of the school and met last week while we were in town for an in person tour.
The facility is clean, secure, and the staff is so friendly! Stephanie was extremely knowledgeable, welcoming, and you can tell that she truly cares about the school and the children.
Each classroom was beautifully designed, themed, and clean. We love the creative aspect our children will have here with career exploration, music, caring teachers and attentive staff.
We cannot wait for our relocation now that we have secured such a wonderful school. Our four year old asks daily when she gets to go back!

We were looking for a new daycare after a horrible small in home daycare experience. Our child would scream without stopping at the home daycare. after putting our kid in this daycare for three days. It was the most stressful situation I have ever dealt with. Needless to say I will never do another home daycare again.

I found Building Kidz and took a tour. I was a little hesitant due to covid but after hearing about their protocols I honestly feel it’s safer than a home daycare. The facility is new and they do deep cleanings every night as well as regular testing of teachers for covid. This is much more stringent than a lot of daycare protocols I’ve seen.

I was also afraid because my son was 11 months he might have issues adjusting especially because of what happened at the home daycare.

Both stefanie and elissa were AMAZING in helping my kid adjust. It took my son Ten minutes the first day and after a week he doesn’t even cry at drop off! Which is saying a lot considering he wouldn’t stop crying with his previous daycare. They take tons of pictures and videos of my kid so I don’t feel like I’m missing out and he ALWAYS looks super happy. They’ll notice small things like a small rash or if his temperament has changed due or getting shots and keep me informed.

If anyone is looking for a good daycare I highly recommend this one.

Our family LOVES Building Kidz School. We are so happy to find a center that’s meets all of our expectations! We love their low teacher:student ratio and structured day with fun activities. My child has already learned so many new skills at the center. The school also uses The Brightwheel app which lets me follow my child’s day. The teachers and staff have been nothing but amazing to us and very flexible. I would recommend this center to all families!

Amazing brand new facility! Staff is super friendly, great location as well. Owners Chris and Jaime walked us around the building and we really enjoyed learning about the new school.

Our family absolutely loves Building Kidz! As a first-time mom, I had reservations about putting our daughter in daycare. We started with a nanny but the schedules didn’t work. We toured several centers in Roswell and were BLOWN AWAY by Building Kidz, which we lovingly call BK in our house.
Being at BK totally changed my perception about what daycare is — and what it isn’t. I initially wanted a nanny because I didn’t want to feel like some other people were raising my child while I was at work. But in reality, a good daycare isn’t just caring for your child, they are teaching them too. Even little babies get stimulation and activities that help them learn social skills and other development skills. Our daughter has been at BK since she was 12 weeks old and now she is nearly 3 years old. We love the focus on performing arts and how BK really makes each family feel like part of a community. I highly recommend Building Kidz to any family I meet. It’s such an amazing place for children.

We have been bringing our preschool aged son to this facility for the past couple years (first when it was Kids Camp, and through the transition to Building Kids). It is in such a convenient location for us in the EDH business park. Ms. Daria has been an incredible teacher for our son. He absolutely loves her and the two of them have a great bond. She is very responsible, easy to work with and amazing with the kids. We love that we can do drop in, and bring him whenever it works best for us. Our son also really enjoys the music and dance curriculum. They do lots of fun projects, and the facility is very well set up. Highly recommend! Don’t let those old bad reviews from the previous ownership stop you from visiting this location and checking them out for yourself.

Great daycare/preschool. My toddler loves this place. The student/teacher ratio is good and the teachers seem to genuinely love children. The owner is incredibly responsive and responds to any calls/texts in a very timely manner. They have a routine and curriculum, while also being flexible. The interior is super cute. The outside play area is just alright, but they take the kids for a lot of walks and bike rides outside of the facility (in a very controlled and safe manner).
They don’t provide meals , but they do provide a morning and an afternoon snack. My husband and I have been very happy with Building Kidz.

We just moved to EDH and I was in need of a day care for my daughter. Cindi and her team were able to give me a tour immediately and my daughter started just a few days after. The sign up process was seamless, the facility is very clean and organized. The teachers are all great and the fact that they use Brightwheel is a huge plus. I receive notifications and pictures all day long and this makes he feel very comfortable. The facility and the program are great!!

After visiting many, many daycares in the area… I am so happy that I found Building Kidz!!! Ms. Amber gave me a wonderful tour without any notice and took the time to answer all of my questions! Her personality made me feel 100% comfortable leaving my little guy!!! The entire staff is amazing and my 3. 5 year old is learning so much!!! All of the teachers take the time to know my son and our entire family!!! All the kiddos are great as well!

My daughter has been going here for about 3 months now. All of the staff at Building Kidz are great. They ensure every drop off goes smoothly. My daughter has been home since Covid started and was shy and timid and frankly behind on her words. She has flourished since being there and they take the time to make sure she is ok every time I drop off and pick up. I cannot say enough good things about Building Kidz and their staff. Thank you Amber for loving my girl.

My granddaughter absolutely loves coming to school here. She talks about how much she loves her friends and her teachers. We felt welcome and comfortable from the very first visit. My granddaughter is only 3, so we look forward to a couple more years for her to thrive at Building Kidz!

This place is amazing for your littles!! Mr David, Ms Joanna and all the others have really special gifts with kids. And David is a great guy. He helped me out a lot as a single father going through a really tough custodial fight with all sorts of stuff. But most of all they prepared my son so so perfectly for kindergarten that he’s just excelling beyond my wildest hopes and dreams! My son loved his time at building kidz and in this day and age it’s really hard a parent to trust people but David and his team also excelled at doing that for this daddy! I don’t think I would have faired so well in my custodial battles if I had a different day care for my son at the time. I can’t say enough good stuff about this particular location and there are not enough words in our current lexicon to express just how very grateful I am for our time with building kidz or Roseville-east. Thank you so much.

We love this school, as does our son. Not only is Mr. David (the owner),kind and compassionate, he is patient and loving. I can’t say enough about the positive influence he has had on my son. The structure the school provides is conducive to the development of a well adjusted child. I highly recommended it.

My daughter honestly LOVES this school. I was very sad when we were moving from Bay Area where both of my kids attended an awesome daycare – I was sure I would never find anything comparable to what they had but I was so wrong. My son went to TK and my daughter had to start new preschool by herself so I was so worried… she LOVES LOVES LOVES it at Building Kidz! She pretends she doesn’t see me when I come to pick her up! A little embarrassing I know:)
The owner-David is very accommodating and so nice! Since I moved here just recently I didn’t know the area and since my move I found couple other preschool way closer to my house but I’ve decided to keep my daughter at Building Kidz because I feel it’s a great match! Highly recommend!

This place is amazing! I am a first-time mom to a 15 month old. I was so nervous about daycare and not being with my son. The owner David and all the teachers are so patient and kind. They’ve been supportive with our need for flexibility due to my irregular schedules. My son attended for 3 months and was so happy! We got frequent updates through the Brightwheel app. I loved being sent pictures and videos of my son enjoying his day. It made me feel like I was there with him when I couldn’t be!

The facility is clean and safe. The adults are trustworthy and kind. Highly recommend! I only wish we could go more, but our financial situation changed.

My daughter loves coming here. They do so much for the kids and Teacher Anna Sheafe is great! She really makes the effort to keep her students clean and tidy, I can tell because whenever I pick up my daughter, she is just the way I left her. Most places let the kids get dirty and run around with their hair all over their faces and covered in snots, they have their jackets on at a 80 degrees weather, not here! Its the little “mommy” things that matter and teacher Anna makes sure your kids are taken care of. Its a good home, away from home for your little preschooler. I am happy my daughter is with teacher Anna.

My daughter attended Building Kidz of South San Francisco from when she was 7 months old until just a couple of weeks ago, she’s now 2.5 years old. Our son (6 months) also started daycare there at 4 months. We had a wonderful experience with Building Kidz of SSF. The teachers are great. All of the teachers, even the ones that were not instructors of their classes, knew their names. It is an incredibly friendly and warm environment. Both my husband and I work full time so to find a daycare/preschool that we could trust our children with was a huge win for us. We would have continued to keep them at this school, however, we just moved to San Carlos. We actually transferred my son to the Building Kidz San Mateo location because of our positive experience. Thank you to the entire staff at SSF for making our daughter and son’s time there so wonderful.

Leaving your baby in the hands of anyone besides your own parents, well… we haven’t even done that yet, but we will Mom I promise!! They have provided great care to our 6 month old and to us by always responding to our questions through their app and keeping us informed on when he’s sleeping/ eating/ and pooping , which makes us feel that we are actually there! Can’t be any happier with them and their service! Strict COVID precautions are also nice to see. Temperature checks, masks for all providers… I feel safe leaving my most prized possession with them!

Our son went to Building Kidz SSF from age 11-18 months and we were super happy with our experience. From day 1 the teachers all knew our baby by name and seemed to really care. Our boy would go happily into day care every single day, no tears, and in fact would excitedly say their names in happy anticipation when getting ready in the morning.
I loved the app they use for keeping us in the loop every day on what he was up to/ how his meals and naps went – the messaging function was a really quick and easy way to communicate with staff.
COVID protocols have adapted over the months, and have helped us feel safe sending our baby there.
Overall we have been so glad we chose Building Kidz SSF and highly recommend to to anyone looking for care. We are so sad we have moved away and lost this great local resource!

We recently started our 1yo at Building Kidz, and couldn’t have asked for a better place to send our kid. Mrs Sundari, the director, is so caring towards our child and accommodating to our preferences, and she really put us at ease as first time parents sending our kid to a day care for the first time.

Similarly, the Infants’ room teachers are all very caring towards our child and accommodating of our preferences. We are looking forward to a long relationship with Building Kidz!

Our 22 month old daughter started her day care here and like every first time parent, we were anxious about her transition but all thanks to Miss Iris and Miss Ebun, for making it so smooth and easy for our daughter. Special thanks to Miss Sundari for being so accommodative and caring. They put us at ease by taking really good care of our kid. We really liked the brightwheel app they use to keep us posted about our daughter’s day to day activities in school. Miss Sundari, Miss Raji and other management staff know most of the kids by their name and even their parents. This really shows how much interest and care they take towards every child. We feel she is in a safe place.

Thanks to all the teachers and staff of building kidz !

We love Building Kidz MV!!
I’ve been meaning to write a review here a while ago. My daughter has started here 1.5 years ago, since she was 6 months old. From the moment we brought her to the infant room, we felt the love and caring from all the teachers. Each and every teacher there were so great and my daughter was in love with them. In the toddler class, she is really happy. Ms Iris and Ms Ebun are simply the best, and they are doing everything they can to make the kids happy and engaged.

I want to say a big thank you to Ms. Sundary and Ms. Raji in particular – for being always available for parents, and support then during this time.
We really appreciate everything that Building Kidz has done for us, and for helping us shaping our daughter little personality in such a good way! Thank you!

I have reviewed Building Kidz previously, but since COVID-19, my son stopped going, for obvious reasons. BK recently opened up to all students, per the SC County guidelines. Today was my son’s first day back. It was seamless. BK really stepped up their check-in process to adhere to the CDC guidelines and safety precautions. The health screening in the morning (temperature check and logging) was perfect, lines to tell indicate 6ft, and staff at the ready. Hand washing stations at conveniently located near the classrooms (these are permanent washing stations, not temporary, so it looks great and sanitary). Everyone in face masks, contact less check-ins through the app. It was great.

Ms. Euben was very helpful today, as we transitioned back, we needed extra help and attention. The teachers all showed they missed and cared for my son. It was great and heartwarming. It is the level of comfort that I needed as a parent bringing back my child to an unknown environment. They took care of all the necessities for a proper and safe return to school. I am very fortunate to have found Building Kidz. Their response to the pandemic is great, so much so that it provided an avenue of normalcy for the families. The sooner that we all can get to the “new normal” whatever that may entail, the quicker the transition will be to some sort of normalcy.

Thank you to all the staff, each of you, you all have really made the transition in uncertain territory great. I also want to commend Ms. Raji, the Director, for her great communication via email. It is professional and really goes above and beyond.

The teachers at building kids are the best. Our son joined when he was two and our daughter when she was five. Teacher Sami is the absolute best for our toddler. He loves her and he loves school. Director Marissa and the teacher Aliveah have done an amazing job supporting my kindergartner through this very challenging year (2021). She loves learning, has been able to take all her zoom classes with the support of a teacher and has been able to play with friends her age through this whole year. They’ve celebrated all the holidays and milestones together. The support Building Kidz has provided has meant the world to our family.

I have 2 kids in Building Kidz, one who just graduated and one who is still there. This school is awesome, bottom line. It’s a little scary leaving your small child in the care of others for the first time and it’s quite the relief to find a place where you know your children are in good hands every single day.

When we started looking at preschools we knew we wanted to find a place where the kids actually learned things but also had fun doing it. We toured a few schools and when we got to Building Kidz we knew we had found the one. The curriculum is taught with songs, art, and theater along with lots of outside play time. My son left preschool with a great foundation for kindergarten including counting to one hundred, strong knowledge of the alphabet, basic addition and subtraction, and sight words. His ability to listen, focus, and follow directions has grown leaps and bounds over the past 3 years.

We have found the school to be clean (I mean, they got our kids safely through a pandemic), responsive, and flexible. The best review of all is probably that my kids actually looks forward to going to school every day. Thank you Building Kidz and all your wonderful staff and teachers for caring for my kids and teaching them that learning can be fun!

We have nothing but great things to say about Building Kidz of Scotts Valley. The only reason we took our daughter out was because we moved out of state. The teachers and staff are great and very attentive to specific needs. Our daughter still misses her friends and teachers.

My son has been attending building kidz since June and we can’t say enough about the positive impact the teachers and the school had on his behavior, development and personality. The staff and the teachers are very caring toward the kids. My son started in Ms. Gianna’s class and then transitioned into Ms. Jamie’s class and had a seamless transition. He loves every part of coming to school and being with the kids. We are so grateful for the teachers, amazing staff and management. We really like the balanced mix of preforming arts and academics. The kids put on a really entertaining winter show and our son was singing the songs all through out winter break. I can’t recommend this place enough for anyone looking for child care in San Mateo.

Second review here because my daughter started Building Kidz SM not too long ago. This review is for all parents out there who are thinking of enrolling their BABY. Trust me, I was super hesitant (even though my son attends the school already). Not because I didn’t trust the school but the fact that it’s my baby that I’m sending off and it was also during the pandemic. She was only 6 months when she first started in Jan 2021. Let me tell you, as soon as I met Ms. Daisy, she made me feel at ease right off the bat. You can tell she was confident and knew what she was doing. Every request or concern I had, she addressed it quickly. They use the app called Bright Wheel and I ALWAYS get updates and pictures daily. I know when she last ate, when she last had a diaper change, etc. Her baby room team is amazing with all the babies too. My daughter smiles at every single teacher she sees (I think that’s a pretty solid sign she likes the school. ) We’re not allowed in the school at the moment because of covid protocols, but they’re extremely good about taking temps for the kids before entering and sanitizing their shoes/clothes. Ms. Jessica (director’s assistant) is fantastic. She knows all the kids and all the kids love her. She’s very on top of everything and is always there to update us about our kids. The school has been great about keeping everything cleaned and making sure all their staff is vaccinated. Like I said in my first review, just go and take a tour, see for yourself! Hope this helps you make a decision because I know it’s tough when it comes to trusting others with your kids. We do appreciate all the staff there. Good luck!

My daughter loves it here. I can not praise my daughters school enough. Jay has been attending Building Kidz for almost 3 years. We are so happy to see how happy she becomes when we pull into the parking lot. She comes home with awesome projects and sings songs on the ride home she learned in school. It’s even better that that we see the same teachers everyday. We were fortunate the school remained open during COVID. They made great changes to keep families and staff safe. The best thing was our baby girl being sprayed with a non chemical mist on her shoes and clothes to prevent additional germs coming in. Jay started off in the toddler program and had moved on to preschool. I highly recommend this school to anyone looking for a great family oriented, positive, healthy and happy school with loving and nurturing staff. We adore all of the teachers and love the open communication with the directors and us.

I had my twins here for almost 2.5 years. It was a great experience, the teachers are lovely and care about the kids. They have developed great social skills and have been learning a lot during this time.
I would highly recommend this preschool to everyone!
They are there for you when you need them, great services, lunch is included for a reasonable monthly tuition.
Thank you Building Kidz!

My twin boys reached the grand age of 2.5 years and it was clear that they needed more intellectual and social exposure than we could provide at home. However, given that our elderly parents are living with us, we had to ensure everyones safety in these trying times.

We looked at several daycares before deciding on Building Kidz in San Carlos. Here’s what we love about it:
1) It’s a brand new facility with only 10-12 students. That meant the kids had plenty of room to play in a safe, socially distanced manner. Even though there are a few more students now, the school has divided them into 2 classrooms. The student-teacher ratio is very much better than what we found in other schools.
2) The school is good about following drop off/pick up protocols, washing the kids hands regularly and maintaining overall cleanliness in the facility.
3) The teachers are AMAZING and I’ve seen quite a few with my daughter! They are great with the kids and my kids surprise me everyday by how much they’ve learnt. My 2.5 year old can recognize and make letters with shapes!
4) I love that the curriculum includes music and dance. Both my boys enjoy that and look forward to those lessons.
5) It took less than a week for my home schooled boys to get acclimated and look forward to going to school everyday!

We are very happy with this daycare and 100% recommend this to other families.

My daughter started at Building Kidz San Carlos a few months ago. The teachers and management have been nothing but wonderful. The teachers are loving and make preschool fun for the kids. The school uses the Brightwheel app to connect with parents and there are always photos and updates on what your child is doing. There is a planned curriculum that the school follows and fun learning activities for the kids. I highly recommend this school.

My 2 year old daughter has been at Building Kidz San Carlos for 3 months now. We have been really happy with the preschool. Our daughter has turned from being very shy to be a lot more outgoing. She only spoke mandarin prior to coming to building Kidz, now she can understand a lot of English and starts to speak some English too. And she seems to be very happy whenever we drop her off or pick her up. The teachers are wonderful, they are patient and caring. I highly recommend Building Kidz San Carlos!

My son (3.5 yo) has been at Building Kidz since April’21. The administration and teachers are great. My son has spent time in two classes and teachers are loving, caring and fun. Communication with parents is frequent with regular updates, activity photos, etc., through the Brightwheel app that works well. Teachers have always welcomed our curiosities and provided prompt and thorough feedback. My son has definitely become more expressive and social, and has picked up some good habits after joining Building Kidz.

Building Kidz is an excellent preschool with teachers who are very passionate about early childhood education! My son enjoyed his time there very much and learned so much through play. Also you can tell how dedicated the owner and the director both are by the love and care they put into the program!

Highly impressed with the quality of this school. The curriculum is age appropriate and enriching. My child loves his teachers, classmates, and the environment. BK focuses on performing arts & also has a Spanish language component. So wonderful
They offer food and are Nut free! Another bonus
I recommend this preschool wholeheartedly.

My daughter has been going to Building Kidz for 2 years. When she started 4 half days at age 3, she was in a smaller classroom with very loving teachers, Ms Halie and Ms Katy. She learned all her letters, and by the end of the first year, she was confidently singing and dancing during their end of school musical program.

Her second year has been outstanding. She moved to a bigger room with more kids, and all the teachers have been so kind, patient, and engaged. She goes full days and now gets Spanish and science lessons, in addition to the music and dance classes. She spends a lot of time playing outside, and I have stacks upon stacks of art that she has created at school. She taught ME how to count to 20 in Spanish. She has friends. She listens better, asserts herself politely, is starting to read words, and is SO ready to start kindergarten in the fall.

Building Kidz is a fantastic school. Go see them for a school tour and see how well they combine an organized curriculum with music, art, and free play. We will miss the teachers so much when we leave, and I hope they know their lessons and love have really made an impact on our lives. Thank you, Building Kidz!!

We have 2 children at BK- 2 and 4 years old and both have been there since they were babies.
Building Kids prepares children for making excellent transitions into elementary school as well as providing a platform for learning and growing every day at school. The staff is great and caring, my children learn new things daily and are so excited about their performances they do. I am proud to have my children there learning daily and in good hands.

I love this school, first they took care of my nieces. I always knew I wanted my kids to go there someday as well. My son attended BK Imagination Station only for his last year of Pre-K and happy that he did. He went from being very shy to a talkative child and is now doing well in Kindergarten. I highly recommend this school, teachers are very caring and great teachers that give kids a good foundation before Kinder, also the best with quick feedback on your concerns & questions.

My daughter attended this preschool and is going go be attending kindergarten soon. I am amazed at how much this school has prepared her for the transition. Not only is the educational program excellent but they are a genuinely, wonderful and caring group of people. The School director is always positive, organized and has a great sense of responsibility. All the teachers are so loving and caring. They never fail to show great enthusiasm towards the children and they have made a positive impact on our daughter’s life.

As a parent, there is nothing better than knowing your child is in good hands. This school ensures us that we never have to worry about our child’s happiness and safety. She is always dropped off and picked up with a smile on her face.

We are so impressed with the curriculum, from science, math, spanish, art, dancing, music and theatre. This is exactly what my daughter needed and I know it will help her to be successful in kindergarten. We love what this school has done for our daughter and we wish that we could have kept her in this school forever.

Thank you Building Kidz, Ms. Raeli, Ms. Tina, Ms. Tara, Ms. Raquel, Ms. Rita, Ms. Rea and all of the staff!

This preschool is absolutely amazing. My daughter adore each and every teacher she came into contact with at this school.

This preschool provided a solid foundation in academics, social skills, and teaching them the fundamental of dreaming big using there imagination skills. My daughter excelled in this school with the various daily activities. One of her favorite class in the morning is Science class. One of her favorite project was getting to grow a bean from a seed. She learned how to pot, plant, water, and watched it grow. With the diverse culture of where we live, I am very please that Building Kidz offer to teach basic Spanish at this level. I catch my daughter sometimes counting in Spanish or even saying just the simple words like thank you. There are so many other enriching activities that goes on everyday at this preschool that sometimes it feels like 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM isn’t enough time. Dance Class, Music Class, Art Class, Performance Recitals….I wish I got to experience this when I was her age.

To see that my daughter enjoyed preschool this much makes my heart melt. It’s the little things in life that counts the most. Knowing that Building Kidz made such a huge footprint in my daughter life make me proud as a mother for finding a preschool like this one. Entrusting your precious little ones is a huge step of letting go as a mother. It was the best decision I made to put my daughter at this preschool.

I am truly thankful for Ms. Raeli and her superhero teachers.

My two boys started going to Building Kidz in Daly City since 1 year old. My oldest son is graduating this year to kindergarten. Building Kidz has been a family to us. We are happy with the director and all the teachers. The teacher turn over ratio is low, most of the teachers we know for more than 3-4 years. Both kids love go to school, each morning they can’t wait to get to school.
They have learned a lot with the preschool curriculum that building kids offers. The teachers also pay close attention to children development. My son’s teacher suggested to have my son checked out for his speech since he was falling behind. We started speech therapy when he was 3. He has now successfully completed his therapy and he has been rated above 90th percentile for both math and verbal kindergarten entrance exams with a private school.
The school kept open even during spring 2020 COVID SIP periods when other schools and daycares were closed which was a big help to working parents. I can’t say enough how much I appreciate the teachers and school for keeping our children safe and happy during the difficult times.

Thank you all!

This daycare/preschool is amazing. Our son has just graduated. He was a student there for the year of 2020-2021. Our experience was nothing short of amazing. The carrying and nurturing environment and teachers’ attention were superb. We consider ourselves extremely fortunate because our son had the wonderful experience in this preschool.
The curriculum there is a well balanced combo of play/learn time. Kids are progressing well academically and developmentally. Great attention to the safety protocols. Teachers there are making sure that the conditions are as safe as possible during the pandemic. We recommend ‘Building Kidz’ wholeheartedly to all parents out there.
P.S. It’s also priced very reasonably.

My nephews have been going to this preschool for months now and absolutely love it. I’ve been bouncing around different childcare places and this one by far is the best. They really emphasize individual attention to each kid. I love the workers and how incredibly helpful and on top of it they are. Definitely would recommend.

I absolutely love this daycare center they’re amazing with the kids, my kids love it here. Megan the owner is great with the kids and she also has great customer service. The app they use brightwheel is great you can communicate with the staff by message and they send you updates on your children while there they also send you photos of your kiddos. The staff is great as well the infant does such a great job with my 5 month old. When I pick him up the majority of the time someone is spending one on one time with him he couldn’t be in better hands, the girls also did an amazing job helping my daughter learn to walk they were supper patient with her so she could move over to the one year old room. Same goes for the one year staff they’re always paying close attention to my little one she loves it there especially now that she can get around. They’re also one of the only centers that picks up at my son’s elementary they take him and pick him which is a huge plus. He does his home work there as well as music which they have twice a week. All I can say is that I’m truly blessed I found this place….

I c ant say enough good things about Building Kidz of chandler .

I LOVE THIS DAYCARE !!!
My granddaughter has been going to Building Kidz for a couple months. I can’t say enough about how happy we are with the care she receives. We’ve experienced our share of daycares in the Chandler area and can say by far Building Kidz is the best. I love the whole set up of the classrooms. Love that there is a cafeteria that the children sit and eat together at little tables. The food given is freshly made and healthy. The facility is always clean and kept in order.
I am so thankful to each and everyone at Building Kidz that care for my granddaughter. They are genuinely nice people. They never look over worked or stressed out. I love the notifications throughout the day on an app of the food given, diaper changes and cute pictures with her playing. I could go on and on but Most importantly my granddaughter is happy and loves her teachers.
Thank you Building Kidz for the wonderful care.
If you are reading reviews and trying to find a daycare, look no more. You will be very happy you found Building Kidz as I am.

One happy Grandma

I switched my son over to Building Kidz after having a not so great experience with another preschool in the area, and I cannot say enough good things!

My son can’t wait to go to school every day and instead of crying when I drop him off like the last school, he cries when he has to leave.

They have a great staff to student ratio and teachers really go above and beyond with my son. He doesn’t nap well at school and he can be difficult to keep occupied which were points of stress for teachers at his last school and they did not hesitate to let me know- he is pretty intellectually advanced for a 2 year old (but still acts like a two year old with the occasional meltdown!) so sometimes needs extra attention/ stimulation to stay content and engaged, which the teachers and staff never seem inconvenienced by. Instead of asking me to do things differently at home so it’s easier for them, the staff and teachers at Building Kidz have come up with ways to keep him challenged and they seem happy to do it. I’ve never seen a teacher look stressed or overwhelmed like I regularly did at the previous school we attended.

I have seen positive changes in my son since he now is better supported, happier and thriving in his classroom, and I’m very thankful that the caring staff has taken extra time to work with him.

I could go on all day with more reasons why we love this school, but here are a few-

-They have an app where you get pictures and updates on your kids through the day. It includes their activities, what they ate, when they napped, went potty/ diapers, etc. I love checking it and seeing pics of him smiling and happy with his friends in his class. 🙂

-They have a music class!

-They do shows and have the kids perform. Their Christmas play was the cutest thing in the world and so well put together. No idea how they managed to get all those little toddlers to follow directions so well! It was amazing and absolutely adorable.

-Pricing was actually better than other places I checked out- although I would be willing to pay more, they really are that great.

-SUPER CLEAN and SUPER ORGANIZED. The whole place is clean and just looks bright and happy when you walk in- first thing I noticed when we did the initial tour. We were all getting sick about once a month when he was at the last school, but it’s been about 5 months since we’ve been at Building Kidz and he hasn’t been sick once.

This school truly is the best and I am so glad I found them! 🙂

Both my girls have been going there for over a year. We have always had a great experience.
They cater to my daughters diet, no meat.
I also feel comfortable leaving my 4 month baby there. Anytime I ask them to help me with something they are receptive with a positive attitude.
I love the arts and crafts my three year old brings home. She is able to be creative, messing, and learn about clean up.
Potty training was tough for my middle. They were super helpful!

Ah Building Kidz. You deserve 10 stars and beyond. I didn’t know how much I really appreciated the school, the staff, and the curriculum. Recently planning to move, so I toured about 5-6 schools in the east bay, mainly in Castro Valley and Hayward area. And base on their Yelp reviews (4.5 stars to 5 stars), you would assume the school can be comparable. Oh man I was totally wrong. I have not seen ONE school as good as Building Kidz. Seriously.

Academic achievement is HUGE in our family. I knew the multiplication table in kindergarten, can do two digit division in first grade. Ok let’s stop bragging about me. So you get the pic. I want my daughter to be as smart if not smarter. She is currently 3 years and 3 months. She knows her alphabets, when I say know her alphabets I’m not saying just singing the ABC song, she can spell out street names and signs in front of the stores. She can count to 20 with no problem. All colors and shapes. Vocabularies are amazing. Really. When we toured other schools recently, they all said my daughter is very advanced and could even go with the 4 years old class.

The school itself is amazing! Every age group has their separate classroom with windows and doors. Not just separated by a book case or toy shelf, I’m talking about real, legit rooms. New both babies have their own crib for nap. Completely separate from the preschool side. And they take kids as young as 6 weeks!!! OMG! Their playground/ yard is HUGE. When I toured other schools, I wasn’t impressed by any of the playground. We’ve been spoiled here 🙁

My daughters been coming since 1 year old. They potty trained her for me after she turned 2. Yes it was very easy and quick. I think 2-3 months? Going from full diaper to full potty trained. No BS.

Another BIG comparison is their curriculum. They are big on art projects. Every semester my daughter has these 3 inch binders full of her art work. They have outside teachers who come in and teach dance and music class (free) which they have a big performance for every year. Spanish class (free), I think they will start French this fall. For sports class like gymnastic and soccer, they come once a week but parents will have to pay a little extra so it’s optional, which I don’t mind at all. These schools I toured recently don’t have music and and art 🙁 very sad and most of them don’t bring in outsider to teach gymnastic and soccer, even sadder 🙁 🙁

Their tuition include breakfast, lunch and 2-3 snacks a day! Omg where can I freaking find a school like this? Why can’t you just open another one in Castro Valley area? They are in high demand! So sad we’re moving. And we’ve been dragging it out since we can’t find any good schools 🙁 we’re going to be so sad when we leave… :'( Sigh….

I may be in the “honeymoon phase”, but I so far LOVE this school. My child is only starting week 2 in the toddler room, and we couldn’t be happier. This is the third day care we have enrolled in, and I finally feel like we found the perfect place! The teachers put the kids first. They are prepared, on a good routine, knowledgeable and confident. It helps give me (first time mom) piece of mind that my baby is being well taken care of in a safe, clean, social environment. And the brightwheel app is AMAZING – I get an update almost every hour with pictures throughout the day. I will try updating this review in a few months when we get more established, but for the first time, I finally feel truly comfortable and okay with leaving my child at day care. Thank you.

Update: we have been at Building Kidz for almost 3 months now, and we still love it. I can’t say enough about the teachers in the infant/toddler room – they are absolutely amazing! The place is cleaned nightly by a cleaning crew, and I always see the teachers cleaning as well – so the cleanliness and sanitation is top notch. We are so happy to have found Building Kidz – we hope to have another little one in the next few years, and I already know where his/her daycare will be!!
Thanks again, Building Kidz. You ROCK!

I had posted a review last year when my son started at this school, but I feel like I have to write again about how happy I am to send my son to this school specially with Covid time! I couldn’t trust to put my son in a school due to Covid, but I’m very happy with this school’s protocol . They are very clean and they make sure to check kids temperature before they enter the school, they spray their hands and sole of the shoe with sanitizer. Teachers make sure to keep kids masks on to keep everyone safe. They had asked me to show negative Covid results once kids came back from Christmas break which I thought was great! I felt relieved I didn’t have to worry about kids coming back sick after a long break. The director Karen is Awesome!! Very professional and friendly! The owner sangita Hingorani is great and very understanding! I met all the teachers there and they are amazing! My son has learned so much the last year! I encourage every parent to check this school if they are looking for a child center for their kids. Very very very happy with it!

My son Tyson has gone to Building Kidz since he was 10 months old and is now a bit over 4 years old. I really liked our teachers over the years, especially Ms Mary and Ms Rosa, who have both looked after him and genuinely care about his growth and development. Ms. Mary has been especially helpful in this past year; she is a trusted resource towards my son’s development (as he is neuro atypical/with ASD). I felt comfortable leaving him at Building Kidz while I worked full time. One of my favorite things that they’ve implemented is the use of an app that allows me to see hourly pictures and videos of my son while I’m at work. It’s very reassuring to see what activities my son is doing, what meals and snacks he’s gotten, and how his naptime has been for a fairly anxious first time mom like myself. I also loved that there is some curriculum and structured activities every day to promote learning or has a holiday theme. During the summer sometimes they will have bounce house days, inflatable pool days, and BBQs for the kids. Their playground area is very large-there is an area for each age and classroom. I also like that they incorporate music lessons, art time, dance teachers, and theater into the weekly schedule.
I’m impressed with how well they have been able to handle the school during the pandemic. They always take my son’s temperature at the door and parent can use the app to attest to a lack of symptoms before drop off. The director, Karen, always has a friendly, welcoming face.
My son has had a lot of lovely memories at Building Kidz and has made friends here over the years. I would definitely recommend this school to other parents.

I had considered Building Kidz in Livermore when I had visited Workday HQ onsite in Pleasanton for a potential job opportunity. I evaluated which community to join and was set to choose Livermore as my destination. I met with the owner and immediately understood that Building Kidz is a different type of preschool that is not only dedicated to building a whole child but that whole child to help create whole families. Building Kidz in Livermore to me represented a place where families can build families together with a well thought out curriculum and dedicated staff who work there. At the end, the sad part is not that I withdrew from an opportunity from Workday, but I was not able to have my children join Building Kidz. I am looking forward to someone opening a Building Kidz in Texas.

My very attached-to-mommy daughter loves this place. I was reluctant to start her in day care because I wasn’t sure how she was going to do. She would cry anytime I dropped her off at daycare at the gym. So the thought of actually leaving her scared me. After touring the school and meeting with Angelina, my husband and I decided to move forward. Angelina and her staff are very caring and my daughter LOVES THEM! She gets excited to go to school. I definitely recommend building kids rancho cordova. We recently moved and I was considering moving her to a school closer, but can’t quite imagine not taking her somewhere else.

This review is long overdue. I have my 4 year old enrolled since July 2020. Building kidz is an amazing preschool. I love that the director, Miss Felicia always greets us with a big smile and is super friendly and welcoming. I have seen so much growth and manners in my son since he started. Miss Kellie, their teacher, is also super amazing. Very kind and honest. She let me know when my son was struggling a little bit so I could help him more at home which I really appreciated because it showed me she really cares about his education. I know when I leave my son here he is in good hands and will have a day full of fun and learning. I love that they offer brightwheel which is an app that gives updates on your child about naps, snacks, and they post pictures of what they are learning through out the day! Also I like that Miss Felicia can write messages to keep parents updated with important information and things going on. They do accept child action as well which is great for low income families like myself! I really recommend building kidz of elk grove to anyone!

Hi just started my son here last week. This was my son’s first day care at 20 months old and he was very anxious when we left him the first day. Buidling Kids has shown nothing but patience and understanding with him. Every time I go to pick him up I notice the teachers cuddling with him, holding him so he can feel comforted. My son is super stubborn so I am sure it will take him time to get acclimated but I am glad that he has familiarized himself with the staff and surrounding already. I also love that their pricing has different options on different hour intervals. It totally worked out for me. Would totally recommend this place 🙂

Our twin daughter started their new venture in May when they were 22 months old. We soon found our previous worries were artificial – The twin started to enjoy the new world right away. The staffs are genuinely kind and caring. They never missed labeling or maintaining together my kids’ items. The classroom and playground are far more spacious and beautiful than several other daycares we checked. The owner genuinely loves kids and treats them like her own.

Our 4-year old is attending this Building Kidz Palo Alto South right now and we love it! It’s a truly gem in this area with 3 spacious playgrounds, a giant sand pit and plenty of activities. They have vivid yellow bench outside which is perfect for lunch time, especially during pandemic.

They also have clean and well-decorated indoor classrooms with a theater and a playroom, I saw they use roomba frequently so it’s always tidy and clean.

More importantly, the teachers there are all very caring and friendly. Ms Cindy and Ms Yvett are beloved by the kids. Every morning our LO is very excited to enter the school.

I also like their COVID protocol. With a small group of kids, taking temperature everyday and washing hands constantly, I feel a little bit more relieved when sending my LO there. We feel super lucky to find this place and highly recommend!

We started sending our son to Building Kidz of Palo Alto (BKPA) since July 2021 and we absolutely love the experience. He is extremely happy to go to school everyday and this has been a big positive change from his prior pre-schools. The teachers and curriculum is one of the finest with focus on all round development of the kid.

As a parent I am incredibly happy and humbled to see my son’s progress in the last 6 months. I have seen our son grow and evolve to be a kind and confident kid. Our trust and confidence in BKPA is so high that we have decided to send our daughter to the same school. Kudos to the entire management team and teachers for the personal touch of care.
I highly recommend BKPA to prospective families.

Our son has been going to Building Kidz, Palo Alto for last 6 months and absolutely loves it there! We were nervous parents, sending our son to a day care for the first time, that too in these covid times, but Ms Vibhuti & Ms Priya went out of their way to make sure he settles in well and we were kept well posted of his day-to-day progress (including his gradual improvement in nap schedule). His class teachers Ms Trini and Ms Yanely have been wonderful in engaging him in activities throughout the day, and he adores them and has made lots of friends in his class. He wants to go there on weekends too now 🙂 BKPA has been such a blessing to us, and I’m so thankful for everything they do over and above what is required to run a day care. Thank you so much!

Our daughter has been going to Building Kidz of Palo Alto for close to a year now. She is in the 4-5 year olds class and goes half days. She loves her school – the teachers, the friends, the routine, all of it! She gets a lot of positive reinforcement from the school, especially from Ms Priya.

She has made some good friends at school! One of them has become an especially close friend. They get picked up at the same time and have a whole pickup-time routine of playing for a few mins and hugs afterwards. They even do regular playdates at home!

Overall, we are very happy with BKPA and would recommend the school.

We wanted our child in a pre-school/day care that we trust and can be confident that our child is safe, happy, learning, and well cared for. Building Kidz of West Hayward is all that and more. Sundari, the program director, and all the teachers are great. Everyone is very caring, patient, and responsive.

Since starting at BKH a month ago, our daughter is singing and talking nonstop. She surprises us every day with a new song she learned at school or a new piece of art she made. She is happy to go to school and happy when we pick her up.

What’s great about BKH:

– The program is very accommodating to our work schedule from 8-5.
– Daily update through Brightwheel so we know how our girl is doing (nap, snack, potty, lunch update)
– Photos and videos so we see the fun our girl is having during play time, craft time, and performing arts time. We feel connected to her throughout the day.
– Brightwheel messaging allows parents to be in constant communication with teachers and they are quick to respond.
– Sundari is always available and very responsive via email or a quick phone call.
– Potty training
– Monthly newsletter and snack schedule so parents know what to expect
– Clean and safe facility, everyone adheres to Covid protocol to keep the children safe (temperature check, hand sanitizer, encourage children to wear their mask)

We were very very nervous to start our daughter in school taking her away from the comfort of home and family, Sundari made the transition very smooth and easy for her and us. We look forward to seeing her grow and learn with BKH.

We were referred to Building Kidz by a neighbor. Our 4 year old has been attending preschool at this facility for a little over a month now and our experience has been nothing short of positive so far.

The Center Director, Sundari, is cordial, genuine, and compassionate. It’s apparent that she genuinely cares about the wellbeing of the children. The staff are great as well, as they all seem to be warm, patient, and nurturing.

Building Kidz offers an extensive performing arts-integrated educational program. Research indicates exposing children to performing arts has positive effects on a child’s development and academic performance. Hence, we were thrilled to discover this school specializes in performing arts for ages 2-6. I love that the new facility is secure, safe, clean, and inviting. Tuition is reasonable. I also appreciate how parents are updated throughout the day, with daily activity notes, pictures, and videos, through the brightwheel app.

If you’re looking for a school where your children can develop foundational skills and grow to love learning, be sure to consider Building Kidz. I enthusiastically recommend this school.

It’s only been day two and already we feel so confident about Building Kidz being such a good fit for our two year old. He’s spent all of his life at home with us because of the pandemic and while having support from my family for childcare while we worked from home was convenient, we knew it was time for him to get some more enrichment and socialization with other kids. We heard about BK from our next door neighbors whose kids attend here and felt even better knowing they would be in the same class.

Ms Brisa was wonderful to communicate with right before we enrolled him and we absolutely love the Brightwheel app to get updates throughout the day, photos and videos to soothe my heart!! You can tell all the teachers truly care about the kids and do everything they can to make them feel comfortable. The assistant director even greeted us today and knew what toys our little one likes and helped made drop off feel more comfortable. While he still has his first week of school jitters, I can tell he’s going to learn so much and feel very supported here. Thank you especially to Ms Latrell for making our little guy feel comfortable his first day!

Both of my littles have been at BK since the moment they were old enough and I can’t say enough great things. My older one now graduated to kindergarten and he is thriving, in part because of the experience he had at BK. I truly consider the teachers and staff to be like family. Not to mention that we have met some of our closest friends through BK and truly feel like the luckiest people in the world to have the school.

The school is small, which for some parents can be a negative. We love it because our kids form lasting friendships with their classmates. We also get constant communication throughout the day to let us know that our little guy is thriving and cared for, which is all we could ask.

In pre-pandemic times it was also incredibly convenient for my commute, but even now it is a neighborhood place for us and we are so lucky to have it.

Building Kidz took us in after our beloved former daycare closed their business permanently 7 months ago, and we couldn’t be more grateful to have found a home for our kiddo there. The teachers are truly exceptional and kind. Our kiddo actually counts them as some of her best friends along with the other children there. We hear things like, “Teacher Lora is a good runner and she’s lots of fun to chase. Teacher Becca braided my hair like Elsa after nap time. Teacher Isabel gave me a hug when I fell down outside. Teacher Donna helped me take a nap.” She often comes home and pretends to be a teacher now. At almost 3, she knows the letters in her name, and she can identify several letters of the alphabet. Her art skills are through the roof, and our usually very picky eater has blossomed into an almost hearty eater! We are truly thrilled with her progress, not just academically, but emotionally and socially as well. She will often come home with stories about how Teacher Lora helped her say, “No, I need space,” when she felt overwhelmed or how she and a friend had to sit on a bench and calm down when they couldn’t decide who got to play with a ball. I often worried that our only child wouldn’t get to learn these empathy and sharing skills, but the teachers do a spectacular job of guiding them gently and communicating with us frequently, so we can reinforce the behavior at home. We get monthly lesson plans, so we can preview what they’ll be learning about. We get almost daily photos on Brightwheel, and at the end of every day, we get a short report of the day’s highlights when we pick our kiddo up. The responsiveness and collaborative spirit we feel from the teachers and directors is phenomenal. Best of all is the performance focus at the school. I love hearing my daughter sing new songs (sometimes even in Spanish!), I love her blossoming interest in dance and yoga, and the spring show that they put on was truly one of the most darling things I’ve ever seen. I’m thrilled that our daughter is getting such great care and heaps of love at Building Kidz.

Kindness, love and patience.  Isabel, Becca and Lora are wonderful teachers and care givers.  Our daughter started at Building Kidz on Clement Street when she was 2 years and 3 months old.  She was not potty trained, and I could not image she would ever sit and color like the kids on the tour we took.  Fast forward 5 months and she is now nearly potty trained and her ability to focus on art project (while sitting still!) is amazing.

The structure, consistency, and daily routine is wonderful.  The focus on arts, singing, dancing and general “feel good” kindness is really all we were looking forward in early child education. I feel like she is growing as a good person in addition to fine motor and verbal skills.

The focus on arts, singing and outside dance teachers are exactly what I would do for my daughter if I were to stay at home.  She is getting art class, dance class, reading, story telling, play time and learning value life lessons about sharing, caring and expressing themselves.  Isabell organized a Halloween party on Clement st. A holiday party with a kids show, and the winter pageant, just to name a few.

Every day she brings home new art work – crafts I would probably never organize myself at home. The teachers recap each days success and struggle at pick up.  They are professional in communication, billing and oversight.  The hours are great – ability to start before 8am was a big part of the draw at first.  Highly recommend.

Building Kidz SF has truly blown me away.  Our son started in January 2021, and has absolutely blossomed.  We decided to transfer from our previous outdoor/play based preschool to Building Kidz where there is a bit more academic focus. My kiddo went from not showing any interest in drawing or attempting to write his letters and numbers, to loving it. He comes home everyday excited to share what he has learned, and it is wild to see how much he has grown in just a few short months. Isabel and the teachers genuinely care about my son, teach kindness and empathy, and clearly communicate when there are issues.

I recommend Building Kidz without reservation, and kudos to Isabel, Becca, Donna, and the rest of the teachers for creating such a lovely, caring, and curious learning environment.

I have been bringing my son here for over a year now and I am so impressed. I have used Kindercare for my youngest and they were fine but spent more time doing paperwork than actually interacting with the kids. My older son has been to 2 places he’s 14 now. All were very expensive and specialized in art, languages, music and dance etc. this place is affordable and includes the same activities as the private art school offered. I also can’t say enough good things about the staff. They are incredibly patient and kind. They genuinely care about each of the kids and helping them through developmental challenges and behavioral challenges. Try them out you won’t regret it.

Best decision to send child here. The teachers care for and love the kids. The place is spacious and clean. There is a nice dancing program and also park right next to it.

I’ve had my two boys at Building Kidz MP since they were just over two. I selected this location based on the warmth and kindness of Sylvia Xuereb. She looks after each of the kids with the care and concern I would wish for in my absence. Each of my boys loved their time there and my youngest is still there and thriving…

Great little school hidden among the trees, very welcoming and stimulating environment, awesome teachers.

Great experience for our 2-3 year old son, who since we arrived in the US had a hard time with English and was not used to classrooms and schools. He was in a small daycare before, so we were a bit apprehensive towards a big leap into a classroom, but Mrs Darcy, Jacquie, Mariana and Jordan, along with Sylvia provided a great environment and had all the patience in the world to care for him day to day. He opened up little by little, showed more and more confidence, and seemed to enjoy and learn from all the art activities in the school. We could really see the difference, and marvel at the progress he made along the way. Warmly recommended.

We love Building Kidz! Both our kids have been at BK since they were 2. The oldest is now a kindergartener and thriving, thanks to the social and academic foundation provided by BK. The younger one started his second year at BK this fall, following the re-opening after a brief closure due to the pandemic.

There are a million things I love about BK, but the most important to me is that my kids love it. The teachers make my children feel special. Their genuine love for children is so obvious, and I’ve never doubted that they care deeply about each of the students in their care.

Both our kids are on the shy side and the teachers at BK have been amazing at patiently supporting them through the social challenges of group activities, always making them feel comfortable about their own reactions to those activities and never pushing them past their comfort level. Both kids struggled to engage with the performing arts activities (dance, music, theater classes), but their teachers went above and beyond to make sure neither boy felt ashamed or inadequate about it. Eventually both kids came to love the group enrichment activities and learned to communicate more openly about feeling shy at times in other social settings. In the end, the performing arts activities at BK were really impactful because of the way the teachers helped my boys accept their own limitations and encouraged them to ease into participation as their comfort levels increased. I think that in other settings or with other teachers, the outcome may have been completely opposite.

I also really appreciate the drama-free nature of this place. Issues are managed swiftly and professionally. Teachers offer helpful advice and input when you ask for it, but you don’t get a detailed play-by-play each day. Some parents are more involved than others but there is no pressure and there are no favorites.

Building Kidz is the best of the best. I can say that my son has thrived in the environment. He enjoys doing his classwork, and he is very motivated to do so. Math, language and even science are thought and each are taken with great care. This school is simply perfect.

The curriculum is very age appropriate and it challenges my son. He looks forward to doing his homework and the work seems to provide just about the right amount of work and challenge. The teachers are extremely engaged and supportive in all regards. Ultimately, the school provides a very warm and supportive environment.

The teachers and administration at Building Kidz are very caring. Since day one of Building Kidz opening its doors, my son received individualized attention in his classwork and growth. The school focuses not only academic but also character development. Further, it has a wonderful and engaging support from its community and this is seen in fun events and celebrations. To also add, during the challenging times, the school went above and beyond to provide its students and community with its resources while never missing a beat on its warmth and welcome.

Overall, Building Kidz is fantastic – with its dedicated staff, it provides its students with a good foundation for in character building as well as educational fundamentals.

Thank you very much for all that you do, Building Kidz!

Our kid has been attending the infant program at Building Kidz for about 2 months now. As expected the first few days was a bit tough both for us as parents and our kid. But the teachers at Building Kidz were very accommodating and explained to us very patiently that it might take a few weeks for things to get to normal and what they would be doing to help. I like the Brightwheel app being used so that I can keep track of what my kid is doing w.r.t feeding and sleeping. It also makes it really easy for us to communicate with the teachers during the day. The wonderful pictures and videos posted sometimes on the app is a sweet bonus 🙂

Coming to the classroom, I am extremely satisfied with the care provided by the teachers. They are very easy to work with and our kid (and us) have formed a special bond and trust with a few teachers in the classroom. They take very good care and make every effort to feed and put our baby to sleep even during fussy days. Circle time, book reading sessions and outdoor times are somethings that we really like. The conversations at the end of the day with the teachers show the genuine care and warmth for the kids in the classroom.

Overall we are very satisfied with the daycare so far. We are confident that it will continue to stay the same and would highly recommend the daycare.

So my son started kindergarten this year. And I must say he is BEYOND prepared. The Building Kidz’ program is accelerated, independent, and disciplined while still fostering creativity, social skills and empathy. Building kidz’ taught my son how to write all his letters, numbers, and read basic words. This is a wonderful program and WILL prepare your child for kindergarten.

Our daughter (just under 3yrs old) has been going here over a year now and she seems to love it. Her dad and I also love this school and it’s staff. They’ve been in the trenches with us through all the tough stages… separation anxiety, potty training, and even a broken leg. Being able to see our daughter throughout the day via their secure webcam system is definitely an added bonus. Dad and I feel blessed to have found this school with its wonderful teachers and programs.

So we left our last childcare because I witnessed an incident (another child) but leaving was coming because our son was crying at drop off in the old place and we could not figure out why…but he LOVES this place, after our tour he could not stop talking about it, I was happy after our trial day and on his start day he reassured me in the car, “mom, there is a school bus and a firetruck and a train, so many things mom, it’s going to be fine!” He is 2. 5yrs and reassuring mom. He went from bawling his eyes out at drop off at old childcare to going happily to gramma’s house (which was a vacation of love and being spoiled) to this and from what I have witnessed with my own eyes he is well cared for and so are the rest of the students, teachers here do their best, and management is responsive to feedback and attentive to individualizing care as much as possible! And cameras!!!! Watching him nap or play or interact is wonderful, communication with caregivers has been awesome so far, only 3 wks in but still…I feel very comfortable here and our son says bye without issue after months of tantrums elsewhere (no tantrums saying goodbye at gramma’s either, all about comfort!)

Our son loves it here and routinely asks to go to day care during the weekends :). The teachers are great, the many activities are fun and educational (he learns so much here) and we appreciate that he has the chance to learn to play with so many kids. We’re very happy to have him enrolled here.

My son is finally thriving and begs me to go to school! He had a traumatic experience at another local daycare and I didn’t think he would ever want to try to go school (daycare) again. But from day one, at Building Kidz, my son felt comfortable and instantly loved all the teachers. He asks me to go to school, it’s so cute, and I’m so happy he’s finally happy. On top of that, he’s learning so much at Building Kidz and they are performance arts based, which is great for building self esteem. Thanks for helping my son thrive!

Kindergarten in California – Elementary (CA Dept of Education)

This guidance material is designed to address several public school kindergarten issues:
enrollment age, continuance, and extended-day kindergarten. Although the pertinent kindergarten statutes apply only to public schools, some private schools voluntarily adhere to the state kindergarten statutes, and this guidance may be of assistance to them. This information
may also be helpful to parents and guardians, as well as teachers
of preschool, kindergarten, and first grade.

Kindergarten Enrollment

Since school is mandatory for six year old students, parents and guardians of six year old students must enroll their children in school (Education Code [EC] Section 48200
).
Admission of age-eligible children must occur at the
beginning of the school year or whenever the students move into
the school district.

While local education officials may need a day or two to identify
the particular assigned kindergarten classroom, no age-eligible
child may be denied access to school by being placed on a waiting
list. Although demographics and class size reduction restrictions
may prevent parents/guardians from enrolling their children in
the neighborhood school, the district must provide the name(s)
of available schools. Parents/guardians may discuss school choice
options with district officials. To help make placement decisions,
parents/guardians may compare schools online at either Ed-Data

or Data and Statistics.
Both sites offer information on schools’ demographics and characteristics.

Age-Eligible Children

Districts must admit children at the beginning of the school
year (or whenever they move into a district) if they will be
five years of age on or before September 1 (EC Section 48000[a]). Children who are age-eligible
for kindergarten may attend any pre-kindergarten summer program
maintained by the school district.

Information about items constituting
proof of age supplied by parent or guardian is found in EC Section 48002. Immunization requirements are found in Health
and Safety Code
Section 120325 and Section 120335 and on the CDE’s Factbook Web page.

Early Admission for Under-Age Children to Kindergarten

Districts and CDE staff are frequently requested by parents/guardians to enroll children who are not age-eligible for transitional kindergarten, kindergarten, or first grade. The CDE has no authority to require districts to admit or accelerate under-age children. In addition to the laws mentioned above (in Age-Eligible Children), there is an additional local control option for admitting children to kindergarten. These children may not begin school at the beginning of the school year, but they must wait until their fifth birth date occurs (EC Section 48000[b]). While EC Section 48000(b) allows a child to be admitted early on a case-by-case basis, districts offering this option to families would be wise to have local governing board-adopted criteria by which students are accepted. Some districts base early admissions on test results, maturity of the child, or preschool records in order to be consistent with the early admission policy and to avoid being challenged by parents/guardians of whose children were denied early admission. It is a local control decision how this is accomplished, whether it is in writing, and whether there is an appeals process. If these children continue in kindergarten past the anniversary dates of their admission, the school must have signed Kindergarten Continuance Forms on file to continue the children in kindergarten to the end of the school year, and to avoid jeopardizing audit findings and result in a loss of apportionment.

Private School Considerations: Private schools are not required to comply with the California statutes defining kindergarten. However, the California Association of Private Schools Organizations (CAPSO) indicates that many private schools do voluntarily follow EC sections referred to in this document. Public school officials may not automatically enroll those students, who attended a private school kindergarten, to first grade (see First Grade Enrollment below).

Kindergarten Continuance

Continuance
is defined as more than one school year in kindergarten. EC Section 48011 requires a child who has completed a year of kindergarten
to be promoted to first grade, unless the parent or guardian and
the district agree that the child may continue in kindergarten
not more than one additional school year.

A parent/guardian who agrees their child is to continue in kindergarten
must sign the Kindergarten Continuance Form (PDF) (available translations).
Failure to have signed forms on file may jeopardize audit findings
and result in a loss of apportionment.

EC sections 48070-48070.5 set forth requirements for
pupil promotion and retention (PPR). While kindergarten was not
a grade level included by legislators, EC Section 48070.5(j)
enables local boards to adopt additional PPR policies. Districts
considering continuance of kindergartners may want
to consider:

  • Reviewing current research;
  • Developing a plan to reduce the rate of continuance;
  • Improving the instructional program for students at risk of
    continuance; and
  • Monitoring the progress of schools in reducing continuance rates,
including the differential effects of continuance for different
ethnic groups, non-English-speaking children, and over-representation based on gender.

Section 3934, subdivision (b), located in Title 5 of the California
Code of Regulations
, states:

(b) No program utilizing consolidated application
funds shall:

  • Create special tracks for the educationally
    disadvantaged;
  • Establish adjustment, pregrade, or junior grade
    classes for the educationally disadvantaged.

Current literature reveals that retention may have a negative effect on student achievement, school attendance, attitude toward school, and student dropout rates. The CDE points to the need for districts and school staff to provide interventions for students who are at risk of failure and to prevent the need for retention. Therefore, appropriate interventions should not be delayed for kindergarten students.

Transitional Kindergarten

Transitional kindergarten (TK) is the first year of a two-year kindergarten program that uses a modified kindergarten curriculum that is age and developmentally appropriate. Senate Bill (SB) 858 establishes the intent that TK curriculum be aligned to the California Preschool Learning Foundations and California Preschool Curriculum Frameworks developed by the CDE. Each elementary or unified school district must offer TK classes for all children eligible to attend. A child who completes one year in a TK program, may continue in a kindergarten program for one additional year. A Kindergarten Continuance Form is not needed for children who are age-eligible for TK. A child is eligible for TK if they have their fifth birthday between September 2 and December 2 (inclusive) and each school year thereafter (EC 48000[c]).

However, pursuant to AB 104, EC 48000(c)(3)(B)(i) a school district or charter school may, at any time during a school year (including at the beginning of the school year) admit a child to a TK program who will have his or her fifth birthday after December 2 but during that same school year, with the approval of the parent or guardian, if the governing board of the school district or the governing body of the charter school determines that the admittance is in the best interests of the child and the parent or guardian is given information regarding the advantages and disadvantages and any other explanatory information about the effect of this early admittance.
If these children continue in kindergarten past the anniversary dates of their TK admission, the school must have signed Kindergarten Continuance Forms on file to continue the children in kindergarten to the end of the school year, and to avoid jeopardizing audit findings and result in a loss of apportionment. Average Daily Attendance (ADA) can be claimed for these students once they attain the age of five (EC 48000(c)(B)(ii)).

Extended-Day Kindergarten

Extended-day kindergarten (EDK) is defined as a class, taught by the same certificated staff member, that exceeds the four-hour maximum number of school day minutes. In some districts, EDK is the same length of day as that for older elementary students. While local educational agencies (LEAs) do not receive additional apportionment funds to lengthen the kindergarten day, there is a growing interest in this topic. In 2009, about two thirds of United States kindergarten children attended full-day classes; in California, the percentage of students in full-day classes increased by 43%. For further information, visit The Public Policy Institute of California Web site on Full-Day Kindergarten in California
(PDF). Educators may wish to extend the kindergarten day for a number of reasons, including the following:

  • To improve the educational program
  • To provide more time for the teacher to get to know each child
  • To encourage children’s maximum social, emotional, physical, and academic growth
  • To address transportation issues related to district bus schedules
  • To address parental/guardian needs for child care

EC sections 46110-46119 detail the minimum and maximum lengths of the school day for kindergarten and other elementary grade classrooms. The maximum number of minutes for kindergarten is four hours, (EC Section 46111), excluding recess. However, recess time may be counted as instructional minutes, at the district’s discretion, if teacher supervision occurs.

EC Section 8973 allows schools to offer EDK if both of the following conditions are met:

  • The kindergarten program does not exceed the length of the primary school day, and,
  • The extended-day kindergarten program takes into account ample opportunity for both active and quiet activities with an integrated, experiential, and developmentally appropriate educational program.

To establish EDK, districts should adopt a formal policy in keeping with an Early Primary Program (EC sections 8970-8974). They may also consider the implications of curriculum and instruction changes, class size reduction, facilities, parental/guardian issues, potential bargaining unit agreements, and fiscal considerations. Districts may also carefully evaluate lengthened programs to determine if children are benefiting in all domains (academic, social, emotional, and physical).

First Grade Enrollment

California law requires a child to be six years old on or
before September 1 for the 2014–15 school year and each school year thereafter to be legally eligible for first grade EC Section 48010.

A child who was legally enrolled in an out-of-state kindergarten for one school year (using that state’s requirements),
but who does not meet California age eligibility for first
grade, may, with parental consent, be enrolled by the district in first grade (EC Section 48011).

A child who was not age-eligible for kindergarten
(that is, the child turned five after September 1 in the
2014-15 school year or thereafter) and who attended a California private school
kindergarten for a year is viewed by the CDE as not legally
enrolled
in kindergarten, pursuant to EC Section
48000 requirements. Therefore, this child, upon enrollment
in public school, is enrolled in kindergarten, assessed,
and may (but is not required to) be immediately promoted
to first grade if the child meets the following State Board
of Education criteria, pursuant to Title 5, Section 200:

  • The child is at least five years of age.
  • The child has attended a public school kindergarten
for a long enough time to enable school personnel to
    evaluate the child’s ability.
  • The child is in the upper 5 percent of the child’s
age group in terms of general mental ability.
  • The physical development and social maturity of the
child are consistent with the child’s advanced mental
    ability.
  • The parent or guardian has filed a written statement
with the district that approves placement in first grade.

A statement, signed by the district and parent/guardian, is placed in the official school records for these five-year-olds who have been advanced to first grade (EC Section 48011). This action prevents a subsequent audit exception for first grade placement of an age-ineligible student.

Considerations. Young children who are placed in kindergarten or first grade may feel stress as they try to achieve academic expectations and relate to older children. Parents/guardians and early childhood educators are the best judges regarding what may be gained by acceleration and whether it is worth the price. CDE recommends that educators and district employees explain to parents/guardians of under-age children the following:

  • The academic, social, physical, and emotional readiness required for kindergarten or first grade
  • The rigorous nature of the academic standards
  • The potential for harm to a child’s disposition to learn by inappropriate acceleration, and,
  • The important concepts, skills, and knowledge imparted at each stage of a child’s education, including preschool.

Often it is helpful if school or district staff members arrange for parents/guardians to read content standards for kindergarten through first grade, visit classrooms, and observe instruction. Districts may provide additional information for parents/guardian.

Transitions to Elementary School

Helping children get a good start in school is important
to families, teachers, and children. Transition plans are
required by the federal No Child Left Behind Act of 2001. Title
I, Part A, Section 1114(b)(1)(G) of the Act requires Schoolwide
Projects to plan children’s transitions from early childhood programs
to local elementary school programs. Section 1115(c)(1)(D) of
the Act requires Targeted Assistance programs to assist preschool
children in their transitions to elementary school. Head Start
programs are also required to plan transitions and share relevant
child-centered information (Section 642A of 42 U. S.C. 9837A).
Students with exceptional needs are also provided appropriate
transitions, pursuant to EC Section 56445.

A state law offers an additional opportunity for preschool and
elementary educators to help children transition to school. The
California Preschool Transfer Act of 2001 (Assembly Bill 1539,
Chapter 629, Statutes of 2001) requires state-funded preschools
to provide to the parent/guardian(s) developmental and any other
information deemed beneficial to the child and public school teacher
(see EC sections 56435, 56449, and 58930). If parents/guardians
authorize it, preschools may provide this information directly
to the schools.

Note: The guidance in this document is not binding
on LEAs or other entities. Except for the
statues, regulations, and court decisions that are referenced
herein, this document is exemplary, and compliance with it is
not mandatory. (See Education Code Section 33308. 5.)

Thematic English – acquaintance with English vocabulary in accordance with the theme of the session. This is vocabulary replenishment, experience in communication on various topics, English training in different situations. A find for everyone who wants to learn how to quickly learn poetry and memorize school paragraphs in history, geography, biology and other subjects in 5 minutes.

100 vocabulary words per week gifts for all schoolchildren and their parents. Author’s course on easy and thorough memorization of vocabulary words. After completing this course, your child is guaranteed the best score in vocabulary dictation in school.

Fascinating reading is another diamond in the club’s summer treasury. Only the most interesting methods of working with texts, which will allow children from the first day of the school year to increase the speed and efficiency of classes in the classroom and homework

The curriculum includes classes on:

  • speed reading;
  • mental arithmetic and the theory of inventive problem solving;
  • calligraphy and literacy;
  • intellectual English;

and also every day a new creative task: culinary master class (cooking chocolate sausage), Art Studio (right hemispheric drawing), chemical experiments (making a lava lamp and invisible ink), intellectual game What? Where? When?, a quest trip to Hogwarts Castle based on Harry Potter, One Hundred Boards (learning to work in a team), a master class in the art of public speaking and much, much more.

Learning

Speed Reading – the ability to quickly (200-400 words per minute) learn unfamiliar text. As a result, the child learns independently and does homework without the help of parents and tutors. Grabs new information on the fly, quickly learns poetry, easily works with unfamiliar texts.

Mental arithmetic is an ancient counting system. Classes are held using special abacus accounts. The right hemisphere joins the work of the left hemisphere, connecting creative thinking to logical operations. At the end of the course, solving a mathematical problem will take less time than typing a condition on a calculator.

Calligraphy. Handwriting problem is the most common in elementary school. At first, this process seems complicated, painstaking. Hands get tired, and letters and words turn out to be sloppy. If the handwriting is not corrected in time, it will remain so for life.
Children who master the art of calligraphy become more assiduous, more accurate, more attentive, more confident in their abilities. At the same time, aesthetic taste develops. The guys who work on handwriting also improve their academic results, because in addition to beautiful handwriting, they also develop their intellect.

Intelligent English.
Own methodology of the International Network IQ007. It’s intensive and training. Designed for the formation of English language skills and intellectual skills. Exercises develop both hemispheres of the brain and all parameters of intelligence.

  • Words and grammar are memorized through games and associations – without cramming;
  • Comfortable learning environment – in accordance with age characteristics;
  • Classes help bring grammar to automatism, expand the active vocabulary, understand native speech and put pronunciation.
  • The exercises are selected so that without cramming and without painful homework, you can plunge into the atmosphere of the language, immerse yourself in conditions as close as possible to the language environment.

The skill of communication in English is formed, as a result, love for languages is instilled, intelligence and self-esteem of the child increase.

The eldest daughter went to the camp, the child was interested. And for me, as a mother, it was also important that, in addition to classes, they fed tasty, healthy and varied food, and most importantly, on time, adhering to the regime (the group posted a daily photo report!). The youngest son was helped a lot to learn to read, forming positive emotions from reading, and now he is rushing straight to the camp to his favorite teacher!

I am very glad that the summer camp this year will be no matter what. Took my daughter last year and she loved it! Everyone kept asking when the new camp would be and why it doesn’t happen in winter. They even left an application with her on the site so as not to miss anything. For me, as a mother, it is important that very good teachers. All young, attentive, full of strength and desire to work with children. The room is new, cool repair, everything is very clean. And of course, my daughter will do math in the summer, what else is needed for happiness 🙂 The price for the camp, by the way, is very digestible, because the usual IQ007 programs are not cheap. In general, I recommend, it turns out pleasant with useful.

  • Review of the program “Network of schools IQ007. Moscow”

Love for IQ007 from the first call.
I was looking for a city camp for my son 9years, I wanted to find something that would be useful for studying (mom’s request), that it would be interesting and fun (child’s request), not insanely expensive (dad’s request). By calling and sending requests to about 4-5 organizations. I found the Speed Reading School IQ 007 on the Internet, the operator told me about the summer camp program, oriented me to the nearest branch.
Then there was a conversation with the manager of the branch (Chayanova, 18) Elena, answered all my questions, agreed on a meeting. Communication was on the speakerphone in the car and the child heard what awaits him, speed reading, calligraphy, programming, Mathematics, etc., to which he said: “Mom!!! I’m on vacation! And it will be the same here as at school.”
We agreed to go get acquainted, have a look Together with the child, we visited a branch located not far from the Novoslobodskaya metro station, we saw well-equipped classrooms, bright and in good repair, there is a recreation area with dryers and cocoa.
Manager Elena told the child about the program, about the school of magic – Hogwarts, which students get into at the summer camp.
After the story, the son decided without hesitation that he would walk.
The camp has already started and I would like to express my gratitude to the methodologists and teachers of the school, THANK YOU SO MUCH!
The program of the summer camp is very interesting and informative, in the form of a game with attributes and rewards of Hogwarts, the child really likes it, can’t wait for the next day to be back at the school of wizards.

  • Review of the program “Network of schools IQ007. Moscow”

The child attended a 2-week summer camp, I give 4 for the child’s desire to attend the camp and continue to study at this school. But in general, the quality of the lessons did not please me – the child did only what he liked, the teacher did not immerse himself in those topics that he did not understand, and there were no additional explanations. Therefore, I cannot say about any progress in knowledge or abilities, at least in working with the text. In addition, the groups were chosen for quite different ages (from 6 to 9years), orientation, as far as I understand, to the weakest student, in particular in mental arithmetic. In the English classes, only one child from the group understood something, the rest of the students did not understand anything, and naturally, from the exhaust 0 classes. At least they taught the alphabet, and the simplest words, because. Basically, the level of knowledge of all students is zero – it would be more sense … The teacher was engaged in fact with only one child who knew something from English. In terms of speed reading, the children almost did not read, in working with the text – 0 progress. In general, the child liked it, because. the format is built in the form of a round-the-world trip – the child is captivated by geography, they liked master classes, computer games, and teachers – of course, if there is no demand for knowledge, and you can not answer anything when you are not listening in class … Bright graduation with a science show . I hope that there will be a more effective quality of knowledge at the summer intensive, because. summer camp is essentially a very off-budget babysitting with a slight “flack” of education, much to my chagrin.

Last year my daughter was at the Special Agents Summer School. Liza was completely delighted with the classes and teachers, she still communicates with some of the guys from the shift. About School

Twice a year, the School of Teachers brings together professionals in the field of
education from 85 regions of Russia and a number of neighboring countries

What will I learn?

  • navigate the methods and practices of education quality management
  • choose the most effective digital learning tools
  • take into account in teaching the tasks of import substitution and regional development
  • tailor leading practices to suit your teaching goals

The School provides several types of classes

  • panel discussion — Discussion of hot topics with experts;
  • room-based workshops – Thematic conversation of participants with a discussion expert;
  • online class – Demonstration of digital learning methods and tools;
  • results of the day — Free conversation of participants and organizers of the School;
  • double talk – Presentation of different approaches to solving common problems.

We invite you to actively participate! You can ask questions to the speakers, discuss topics in the chat, go live.

Materials of the School

We cover the topics of the School in Urayt.Journal, and the collection of abstracts and materials of our speakers will be published as a result.

Participants’ feedback

“The speakers are excellent, the diction is well-set, they explain everything intelligibly and clearly. Such schools are certainly necessary, this is both a requirement of the time and an opportunity for students, without wasting time on the road, etc., to receive additional education.”

Toygambaev Serik Kokibayevich, Professor of the Moscow State Agrarian University named after K. A. Timiryazev

“Excellent speaker program of the School. Topical issues and problems of education were considered. I have been watching and listening to almost all the participants for the third year with pleasure. I have you on VK, FB, Telegram. I recommend it to my colleagues and students. You can definitely motivate all of you to work on yourself and with students.”

Bayukova Svetlana Valerianovna, assistant of the CSU named after I. N. Ulyanov . Giving your manuscript, your textbook to the unknown online for general uncontrolled viewing is not scary, as it once seemed to us, it’s great, it’s expanding the circle of your possibilities. And Yurayt helps with this.”

Shinkareva Antonina Petrovna, lecturer at ISU

“All speakers are professionals. The practical direction of the School is interesting, important and very timely. We get answers to many questions. In the chat, you learn about the situation in many regions, which makes you overestimate your professional activities.”

Shulga Tatyana Ivanovna, Professor of Moscow State Educational Institution MPU

“I would like to note the high professional level of the speakers, as well as their motivation to actively participate in discussions. The Yurayt team acts as both an effective organizer and a competent moderator of discussions. The applied aspect of the School is the possibility of exchanging experience in terms of pedagogical practices. This is especially important, since the network communication of teachers mainly lies in the plane of professional interests, and participation in the School helps to develop pedagogical skills.”

Melnikova Tatyana Borisovna, Associate Professor of the Sevastopol branch of the Plekhanov Russian University of Economics

“I express my deep gratitude to the organizers for the rich and fruitful program, its high professional level and the relevance of the proposed topics. I am pleased to note the excellent organization of the event. Hearing about examples from practice is always more useful than discussing theory. The event manages to attract both speakers with interesting presentations and good moderators who allow building an effective discussion.”

Alexandra Vyacheslavovna Elkina, Senior Lecturer, Ural State University of Law

“I liked the way the questions were raised, it’s very good that the most difficult questions that need to be addressed today are taken. I was surprised at the diversity of opinions and proposals.”

Inna Borisovna Konnova, Senior Lecturer, UlGU

“School has practical value! I was between two banks – speakers on one side, colleagues from the chat on the other! And, moving along the “stream”, I realized that we will not live in the old way! The system, structure, trends of education are changing. You need to be able to “reboot” and work further under these conditions. This awareness, as well as the direction of movement, I received at your School!

Grebtsova Larisa Vasilievna, lecturer at SibGUTI

“I liked the program, the multi-vector theme of the speeches was taken into account, covering the interests of a large number of participants, and uniting all topical issues, and the problems posed by modern unpredictable realities. Classes at the Winter School are personally useful for me: both the speeches of speakers, discussion participants, moderators, as well as a particularly heated discussion of current issues in the chat. I have already outlined for myself a lot of useful points from the experience of others, which are worth talking about already at our university, both with teachers and in the management environment. On the organization of the educational process at different levels, innovative methods of working with students, including distance learning, management initiatives of some universities.

Antonina Petrovna Shinkareva, ISU teacher

“You, the organizers of the Winter School 2021, managed to immediately interest the assembled teaching audience, the speakers (moderators, presenters) completely owned our attention and aroused the mental activity of the participants (just look at the records in the chat, questions to the speakers). I assess the organization of the Winter School 2021 as high, the material presented by the speakers is rich in facts on topical issues of great practical importance. It will undoubtedly be useful in my professional field.”

Kudryashov Konstantin Viktorovich, lecturer at NCSI

“In my opinion, the choice of speakers was very successful. Great moderators. All people are authoritative, not indifferent. And professionals. Because it was so interesting and useful. In this format, everything suited me. In my opinion, everything was built very systematically, thoughtfully. All of them are energetic and very friendly. Save time. The reports are live. With soul. And it is important that Humanity is located behind science, education and even academicism. You made it.”

Kazakevich Tatyana Alexandrovna, Associate Professor of IGA and lecturer at PSTGU

“I plunged into an interesting discussion, I enjoyed discussing with my colleagues, discussing the problems of higher education and academic ethics and culture. Without a doubt, important, relevant, timely and interesting! Sitting in the outback, you understand that in the system of higher education we have similar problems that require urgent solutions. Rejoice for colleagues walking ahead! I want to be equal. You understand that you are far from worse than other colleagues, and this is very energizing and stimulates further development and improvement.

Tatyana Valentinovna Kalinina, Lecturer at the Arzamas branch of the Lobachevsky State University

“Organization at the highest level. The questions raised at the School and discussed by the speakers and participants help to understand one’s place, the strengths and weaknesses of one’s courses and teaching methods, suggest ideas, directions and opportunities for their improvement.

Irina Nikolaevna Shabas, Senior Research Fellow, SFedU

“The speakers are wonderful, the program is too rich, but there was an opportunity to choose topics of interest. This is a timely reminder of the start time of webinars, the possibility of using different communication channels, a stable connection with virtually no failures. The problems of education as a whole are well covered, as well as a lot of useful information on solving many problems.

Ivanov Nikolay Arkadyevich, Associate Professor of IrNITU

“The program is very extensive, very intense. Such a number of invitees from completely different universities. For the first time I came across such a variety of approaches and opinions. WONDERFUL speakers, each with great interest stated his question. Great organization. It’s even more useful than attending a scientific conference, the chat was just seething… Exchange of opinions, great!!! The experience of teaching in Western universities first-hand in an accessible presentation!!! One can only dream of such an opportunity.

Elena Kalisatarovna Klimova, PNRPU

“The program is very topical and useful. Removes many questions. I really liked the organization! Very intelligent representatives of Urayt.Academy. Everything has been thought of! There is logic and system in everything. The practical significance is high. I made a lot of notes for my work in the classroom, in project management, in testing.

Rodina Irina Borisovna, professor of SUM
