Public Participation Request Form
The Fairport Harbor Exempted Village Board of Education values its engagement with the community and believes that providing an opportunity for public comment during Regular Board Meetings supports that engagement and provides transparency. Though proving an opportunity for public comment is not a requirement, we would like to continue this practice even while meeting virtually or in-person. In the spirit of maintaining this opportunity for our public to participate in school board meetings, interested persons may submit written public comments via this electronic form prior to the Board meeting. The Board will collect the public participation information up to one hour before the Regular Meetings for inclusion in the meeting.

*Updated 6/24/22 to add link for paper 22/23 free and reduced lunch application* Click to read more.
May 23, 2022
Dear Fairport Parents & Guardians,
Effective June 2, 2022 (the last day of school), federal meal waivers from the USDA for the National School Lunch and Breakfast Programs that have been in place during the COVID-19 pandemic will expire.
What does this mean for you?
1. Beginning with the 2022-2023 school year, students will no longer receive breakfast and lunch at no cost unless they qualify for free or reduced-price meals.
2. Your student must be eligible for free or reduced-price meals, either through direct certification or a completed free or reduced-price meal application. The application will be available to fill out after July 1, 2022. The electronic version, which is the most efficient way to apply, can be found in your Infinite Campus Parent Portal. If you need a paper copy you will need to contact our office at the number above.
3. If your student previously was eligible, either by direct certification or an application, that status carries over for the first 30 days of the new school year. If you have questions or would like to know your student’s status please contact our department.
4. Please work with your younger student on their PIN (Student ID Number) and remind them that they will need to enter it into the pin pad at lunchtime.

What is the Safer Ohio School Tip Line?
Governor Mike DeWine established the Ohio School Safety Center (OSSC) in August of 2019 to support schools, first responders, and communities in preventing, preparing for, and responding to threats and acts of violence, including self-harm. One of the resources that the OSSC administers is the Safer Ohio School Tip Line. This free service is monitored 24/7 for anonymous reporting and can receive both calls and texts. This tip line allows students and adults to anonymously share information with school officials and law enforcement about threats to student safety—whether that involves a threatened mass incident or harm to a single student.

What is a Quality Profile? The purpose of the Quality Profile is to provide “the rest of the story,” giving the Fairport Harbor community a report on how our schools are performing in the areas that matter most. The Fairport Harbor community believes schools should provide opportunities for students to pursue excellence in many forms. The education we provide goes far beyond what is measured by the Ohio Department of Education standardized tests. The best way to prepare our students for success in college, career, and life is to create opportunities for personalized learning tailored to individual student talents and interests. That is why Fairport students are learning today and leading tomorrow.

Bel-Harbor and Surfside
Bel-Harbor-a high-class member of the gorgeous, intimacy, intimate street and connects the two areas to Miami Beach at the south end at 87th Terrace. The two areas share a limited selection of exclusive, ultra-luxury high-rise and mid-rise projects that offer the next level of amenities and unparalleled privacy, along with breathtaking Atlantic Ocean, Biscayne Bay, and city skyline views from their beautiful Collins Avenue waterfront locations. Avenue” (Harding Avenue).

10 celebrities who never finished school
05 May 2016 15:36
School isn’t for everyone and these successful celebrities have proven that a high school diploma isn’t always necessary. Here are collected celebrities who, for one reason or another, did not finish school, but in their case this did not stop them.
#10: Quentin Tarantino
You may know him as a great screenwriter, actor, producer or director of some modern hits like Pulp Fiction, Reservoir Dogs or Django Unchained. However, looking into Tarantino’s past, it turns out that he didn’t finish high school. Young Quentin dropped out of the Nabronn School in Harbor City after the ninth grade and decided to take up the practical study of cinema. Subsequently, he took several lessons in amateur theater, worked as an usher in an adult cinema, and for a while recommended to people what to watch at the Video Archive video store on Manhattan Beach.

No. 9: Robert Downey, Jr.
This actor is world famous for his roles in Charlie Chaplin and Iron Man, and also charmed us in Less than Zero and made us laugh to tears in “Soldiers of Failure”, also did not receive a diploma from school. Around the age of 16, the child of actor Robert Downey Sr. dropped out of school in Santa Monica and moved to New York to pursue an acting career that he started at the age of 5. 1985 proved to be a breakthrough year for his post-academic acting career, with Wall to Wall and Wonders of Science.

#8: Robert De Niro
Yes, that Robert De Niro. Although he is considered one of the great living actors known for his roles in such films as “Raging Bull”, “Taxi Driver” and “The Godfather 2”, everything began much more modestly. The child of divorced parents, he drifted from school to school in his youth, but even then he showed an aptitude for acting. Before he turned 17, he decided to drop out of school and devote himself full-time to teaching acting at the Stella Adler Conservatory and the Lee Strasberg Acting Studio. The rest is history.

#7: Nicolas Cage
Director Francis Ford Coppola’s nephew, Cage has shown he can stand up for himself without using his famous last name in films such as The Rock, National Treasure ” and “Leaving Las Vegas”. However, few people know, but at the age of 16, young Nicholas Coppola, obsessed with James Dean and dreams of an acting career, left school in Beverly Hills. Early in his career, he changed his last name on Cage and soon landed a small role in the film Fast Times at Ridgemont High.

#6: Tom Cruise
Can you imagine that such a handsome and successful actor could become a priest? But it could actually happen. Tom Cruise, who grew up almost in poverty, wandered from school to school in an unfavorable family as a child. Despite the fact that he was fond of various sports: field hockey and football, he was going to become a Catholic priest and even entered the seminary. But in high school, the dyslexic kid dropped out to become an actor in New York. And he landed his first minor role in Endless Love, and just a few years later, Top Gun and Risky Business made him a superstar.

#5: Hilary Swank
At a fairly young age, athletic Swank was torn between school and theater, gymnastics, and the Washington State Junior Olympic Swim Team. After her parents’ divorce, Swank continued to take acting classes in Los Angeles. Although she initially went to South Pasadena High School, her feelings of separation from her friends caused her to leave. She probably didn’t look back with regret after her first lead role in Karate Kid 4, as she’s since won two awards from the Academy.

#4: Jim Carrey
Imagine this comedy legend in your classroom! And in fact he was a local clown. However, with the onset of hard times, 15-year-old Carrie was forced to leave high school and start working as a janitor to help support his family. It was much later when he decided to show himself in the comedy genre, but does anyone regret this? Casting him led to what we ended up with: Dumb and Dumber classics and Ace Ventura, as well as his more serious roles in The Truman Show and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.

#3: Diana, Princess of Wales
Just because you’re a princess doesn’t mean you’re an honors student. Diana Spencer, who later became the beloved Princess of Wales, was not considered a good student at West Health Girls’ School. In fact, when she moved to high school, passing tests to determine the knowledge gained, she failed twice. Although she went to high school in Switzerland, she never graduated. Later at 19years, she became engaged to Prince Charles and soon married him.

#2: Nicole Kidman
When her mother was diagnosed with breast cancer, 17-year-old Nicole dropped out of school to help her family by working at a massage parlor. Shortly thereafter, she decided to pursue a career as an actress inspired by Margaret Hamilton from The Wizard of Oz, returning to school where she continued to study acting. Debuting in the Australian film Bush Christmas, she gained international fame a few years later with her role in Dead Pool.

Billionaires are supposed to make money from their good education, right? Perhaps not.
