Description:

At Bouncing Bunnies Family Daycare, we are dedicated to creating a happy and stimulating environment that offers love, acceptance, and a place where every child feels safe and secure. Here, the safety, needs, and happiness of all children is our top priority. With over fifteen years of experience in the family childcare and preschool settings, we strongly believe that play is the work of young children. It is with this philosophy that we have created our environment, placing an emphasis on learning through play and exploration.
Young minds are given the opportunity to grow and to create their own worlds through imaginary play, using all five senses to learn about everyday wonders. Our program is designed to allow children to socialize and interact with their young peers, while offering them the opportunity to play and explore in a variety of inventive, age-appropriate activities.
Additionally, we enjoy a seasonal curriculum that focuses on the highlights that each season offers. We engage in a hands-on, sensory experience through arts-and-crafts and interactive story time. When the weather permits us to do so, we spend the majority of our time outside. With ride-on toys, a swing set, and neighborhood walks, we allow for an exploration of nature, exercise of gross motor skills, and an outdoor experience that is always fun-filled.
My years as a mother and childcare provider have taught me innumerable lessons, such as the value of fostering creative thinking; the importance of outdoor play, musical enjoyment, and story time; as well as the power of independent reading, problem solving and self-help skills. I always discuss any concerns – physical or behavioral – with parents, and I view strong communication between families and myself with the highest regard. Although it’s always sad to see the children grow up and move on from my home daycare to preschool or pre-K, parents can be confident that their children are prepared to thrive and succeed in a larger environment. Thank you for your interest in our program, and I look forward to working with you and seeing your little ones grow!

Recent Review:

As a first-time mom in a pandemic, it was a tough decision to send my only daughter off to daycare. However, she has been attending Gurukul Learning Center for almost a year now and it was the best decision Ihave ever made and I am so happy I chose this particular family-run facility. She started when she was about 9 months old in the infant room. The staff was so understanding and helpful in guiding us through the process. Since the very beginning, the director of the school, Deanna, made us feel welcome and part of the family. The safety measures during the pandemic were top-notch and I always felt as though my daughter was safe and loved at school, even amidst COVID breakouts and closures (which I’m sure, were always a tough call to make). I am constantly floored by how much she has learned and grown over the course of her time at Gurukul. The teachers have been absolutely phenomenal. My daughter constantly talks about her teachers and how much fun she has learning every day. She is always happy when I pick her up, and honestly, barely even says bye to me when I drop her off now! She’s so excited to see her friends that she just walks right in! I am so very grateful to the educators and staff for making sure all of the kids have the best enrichment possible, while maintaining a safe environment for all. With Gurukul, you get all the best parts of the curriculum from the big chains, but with a more personal, welcoming feeling. You’re not just a number to the Gurukul team, you’re part of the family….

PHILOSOPHY OF OUR CHILD CARE PROGRAMS

Learning Through Play

Our centers provide an environment where children have the opportunity to learn. Your child was born with a natural curiosity, which makes him/her want to touch, taste, see, smell and hear everything. Since play is the natural way that every child learns, it is one of the most effective methods of teaching…our method of teaching. Through play, your child’s curiosity is stimulated. He/she is encouraged to explore, imitate, manipulate and master the surrounding environment. The center prides itself on providing your child with a safe and caring environment. Our programs give your child the opportunity to participate in a variety of age- and developmentally-appropriate activities. Included in our programs is the opportunity for children to learn about different cultures by participating in a variety of traditional cultural events and holiday celebrations. Through these experiences, a positive self-image is reinforced and a foundation for strong cognitive and social skills is formed.

In our early childhood programs, our curriculum is based on themes that incorporate language, math, science, social studies, small/large motor skills, art, music and cooking activities.

In our school age programming, our curriculum is flexibly structured to meet the needs of the children who have spent the majority of their day in a structured school setting. The daily schedule consists of alternating periods of individual, small group, large group, structured and non-structured time, both indoors and out of doors. It is always a pleasure to see children learning while forming new friendships. When appropriate, we will take field trips or bring in special enrichment programs to complement our programming. Curriculum may vary with the individual needs of the children in a given room or that week’s specific theme.

How to decipher the names of kindergartens, schools and creative centers

I don’t envy my parents. If you are not connected in any way with the education system and not a journalist who writes about it, it will be very difficult for you to find the right school, kindergarten, music club and sports section. In recent years, normal, understandable words have simply disappeared from the sphere of education.

Do you have a future first grader in your family? Are you looking for a good school for him? Keep in mind that you will not have to enroll your child in a school, but in a GBOU or MBOU. Or maybe even in the MKSH, MKOU or MAOU (maou … sounds so beautiful, almost like in Yuri Senkevich’s reports about traveling somewhere to Indonesia or New Zealand).

Remember, GBOU is a state budgetary educational institution, MBOU is a municipal budgetary educational institution, MKSH is an ungraded school, MKOU is a municipal state educational institution, and MAOU is a municipal autonomous educational institution.

There is no big difference for parents, all these are schools, most importantly, they are all free. The only difference is that sometimes the state ones can be better equipped than the municipal ones.

Do you need a kindergarten? Welcome to GBDOU! This is a state budgetary preschool educational institution. Not to be confused with GBOU, although it happens that the garden is part of the school. (Then see above – we go to GBOU).

Now for some important information for parents raising children with disabilities. Let’s say you have a child with mental retardation, severe speech impairment, autism. You should go to a correctional kindergarten. Nobody argues. Previously, you would have picked up a directory or scored “correctional kindergarten” in the search bar. Now everything is not so simple. Your baby will not be enrolled in a correctional kindergarten, but, for example, in GBPOU KMB. Do you know what it is? State budgetary professional educational institution College of Small Business. What?! With a pot – and immediately to college? Everything is just right, there are no errors. A few years ago, many kindergartens, including those for special children, were merged not only with schools, but immediately with colleges. Maybe there was some sense in this – time will tell. But tell me, how can parents learn about all this from meaningless letter abbreviations?

Another story: doctors and psychologists advise sending the child to a boarding school. And here again the Chinese letter for parents. We’ll have to rush between GKOU SKOSHI. What does “State state educational institution “Special (correctional) boarding school” mean? hard of hearing, and some for the mentally retarded, will have to spend more than one hour on the Internet. 0003

Okay, we sat down and found what we needed. Now you need to understand how and what the school will teach your special child. And here is the explanation on one of the sites:

“This option … for children who have not received preschool education, which contributes to the development of the NEO based on the AOOP. Their education is built in accordance with the Federal State Educational Standard of the NEO for students with disabilities, who were recommended by the specialists of the CPMPC to study option 2 (option 8.2)”. What is it about? The translation will be something like this: if a child with a serious mental retardation did not go to kindergarten, he can study in elementary school for 6 years in special programs.

Keywords – IEO and AOOP. To clarify, LEO is not low Earth orbit, but primary general education, AOOP is adapted programs. In other words, simplified programs that take into account the capabilities of the child. TsPMPC – the central psychological, medical and pedagogical commission, which confirms that your child needs special conditions in the kindergarten and school.
