A creative, well-thought-out and skillfully executed marketing campaign is not only a means to increase sales or attract additional customers: high-profile campaigns have a powerful impact on the positioning of a particular brand, change the advertising market as a whole, and ultimately have a decisive influence on the consumer culture in the country and all over the world.
In the next corporate rating of the Vlast Deneg magazine, we decided to present the top 25 most memorable and effective marketing campaigns conducted on the Ukrainian market in 2020 – the first half of 2021.
The top includes interesting projects implemented as Ukrainian entrepreneurs , and representative offices of foreign companies, but with a focus on the Ukrainian consumer and are not part of global advertising campaigns. When choosing projects, we took into account creativity, scale, economic effect, the wow factor of the project’s perception on the market, as well as its compliance with the ethical standards of a civilized business.
When compiling the rating, information from open sources was used, including official information of companies, media reports, opinions of industry experts. We tried to present in the rating the widest possible regional geography of companies and, at the same time, a wide industry spectrum. When compiling the top 25, we wanted to emphasize the positive results achieved, so we present companies with successful marketing projects in alphabetical order, without ranking by numbers.
AB InBev Efes Ukraine
AB InBev Efes Ukraine constantly takes into account the changing tastes of the modern consumer, following the trends and adapting the marketing strategy to its needs. Each campaign is developed individually, taking into account the characteristics of the brand, its objectives, audience and competitive environment. Marketing strategies adapt to people’s preferences, so investments are mainly made in growing brands and segments. In November 2020, the EVA store line launched an omnichannel marketing campaign called “Days”, which was timed to coincide with Black Friday. It involved offline buyers and customers of the online store EVA.UA.
The company made daily unique offers to customers, increasing their volume with a peak on November 27 – Black Friday. Communication with customers was carried out on all available platforms: television, radio, outdoor advertising, didgital and POS in retail outlets. We created a separate landing page for the campaign, where we collected promotions, offers and activities, attracted bloggers and implemented a number of non-standard mechanics. For example, a quest where you had to give answers and complete tasks in order to receive gifts. And one of the key mechanics was products of the day — 10 new top products every day with maximum discounts.
Favbet
This year, Favbet decided to change its attitude towards the gambling industry and presented a new positioning in the “Be inside the game” advertising campaign. The creative agency Banda was involved in the project.
The concept is based on a European approach, where the game is treated as entertainment, not quick money. For the first time in the industry, the consumer is not shouted at with calls to make a bet and get rich – he is offered to immerse himself in the game and get the maximum of emotions.
To implement Favbet, they chose the 360° principle: in addition to TV, radio, digital and outdoor advertising, the campaign included AR games, bloggers’ flash mobs and promotions with ambassadors. The results of the first two months have already shown a 23% increase in new users compared to the same period before the start of activities.
IDS Borjomi Ukraine
The brand “Morshynska”, which is part of the IDS Borjomi Ukraine group of companies, this spring presented a marketing campaign Morshynska plus AntiOxi Water dedicated to health and beauty. Fitness trainer Andrey Khomitsky, top model Tatyana Ruban and ballerina Anna Muromtseva became the heroes of three videos, which presented the main ideas of the campaign. In the video, they dance, go in for sports and modelling, each in their own rhythm, but all the heroes equally value time and monitor their well-being, so they choose AntiOxi Water.
Water enriched with trace elements and antioxidants has become a real trend and innovation in the field of a healthy lifestyle. In support of the service, OKKO launched a comprehensive radio and Internet advertising campaign with a focus on security, the results of which were not long in coming. Its body is 92% cereals, and 100% natural fillings are based on aged cheese, vegetables, fruits and berries, which provides a healthy satisfaction of hunger for up to four hours. Since the launch, 5 million products have been sold, which confirms the demand for healthy food.
Also in 2021, DREAMEAT plant-based meat was launched, a healthy alternative to meat that is a source of amino-acid-balanced protein, iron and phosphorus.

“Mareven Food Europe”
In 2021, the international company “Mareven Food Europe”, in honor of the 10th anniversary of TM Rollton in Ukraine, launched a multi-category promotion “Rollton! 10 years for relish!”. In four months, TM Rollton has raffled off four cars, as well as smartphones and a daily top-up of a mobile phone.
The campaign was accompanied by placement on television, the Internet, social networks and PR in the media. To maintain engagement with the help of a chat bot, Viber and Telegram simplified registration and communicated with participants. More than 1.7 million codes were registered in the promotion, and the daily number of registrations doubled by the end of the promotion. The engagement rate was as much as 3.2%.
TM Rollton promotional campaign reached more than 80% of the target audience, increasing awareness by 7% and brand loyalty by 10% in just four months.
Metinvest
The Metinvest Group implemented the “Robimo Ukrainian” campaign dedicated to its 15th anniversary. The powerful aesthetics of metallurgical and mining merges in the advertising campaign with Ukrainian everyday life, which shows the proximity of production to Ukrainians, despite the apparent distance between them. The visualization of the idea was made using a split-screen.
Metinvest has finally cemented its image as a leading pro-Ukrainian business. The TV commercial was broadcast on 14 TV channels of the country, and on YouTube the number of views exceeded 10 million. An extensive banner campaign was also carried out on the Internet. The campaign was attended by Ukrainian celebrities – singer Yulia Sanina, leader of The Hardkiss, captain of the Ukrainian national football team, Shakhtar goalkeeper Andriy Pyatov, traveler Dmitry Komarov and restaurateur Dmitry Borisov.
In 2021, the largest producer and exporter of chicken meat in Ukraine, the MHP holding, as part of the transformation from a raw material company into a culinary company, restarted the popular marinated chicken brand Nasha Ryaba Appetitnaya in six months. This is a brand of ready-to-cook (ready-to-cook) products that make life easier, get rid of routine cooking processes. Three years ago, a designer supermarket based on the animated film “Mavka. The Forest Song” appeared in the “Silpo” chain, and this spring, in collaboration with FILM.UA Group, a magical advertising campaign “Chimchikuy for the Mavchiks” was launched.
Guests of the network are invited to collect a collection of 16 Mavchiks – inhabitants of the magical forest from the future cartoon. These are magical characters, each with its own character and characteristics. Some have magical abilities – they can change color and glow in the dark, and some come to life in the augmented reality application Mavka Silpo.
