I doubted anyone could love our child as much as my husband and I do, but the teachers at ChildTime sure come close! It’s not like dropping our child off at school; it’s more like dropping her off with family. I know she’ll be protected, nourished, and encouraged to grow.

Certifications: CPR/First Aid, On going Early Childhood Education

I have over four years of experience. What I enjoy the most about working at our school is all of the wonderful relationships that I have built with our Childtime families. The children always put a smile on my face, make me laugh with their creative stories. I enjoy every stage of development and growth but when I see the children grow from Infant through our Jr. Kindergarten class, it gives me tears in my eyes to see them graduate from our school.

Cathy is a city in the U.S. state of Texas within the Houston–Woodlands–Sugar Land Metropolitan Area. The city is located roughly in the center of the trippoint of Harris, Fort Bend, and Waller County. Katy’s population at the 2010 census was 14,102, 90,040[2]90,041 compared to 11,775 in 2000. The population in 2019 was estimated at 21,729. [7] It is known for its large mansions, idyllic scenery and wealth.

First officially settled in the mid-1890s, Katy was a railroad town along the Missouri-Kansas-Texas Railroad (MKT) which paralleled U.S. Route 90 (today Interstate 10) to Downtown Houston. The fertile floodplain of the Buffalo Bayou, which has a spring near the Katy and its tributaries, has made the Katy and other communities on the surrounding prairies an attractive place to grow rice. From 19In the 1960s, Houston’s rapid growth moved west along the new Interstate 10 corridor, bringing Katie into the vicinity. Today, the municipality of Katy is at the center of a wider area known as Great Katy, which has become heavily urbanized.

Although the city of Katy is largely part of Greater Houston, it is still known for Katy Mills Mall, the Katy Independent School District, and its historic town square along the former MKT railroad right-of-way.

The first bridge over the Kane-Alend stream, around 1895 9000 9000 9000 9000 In the early 1800s, Katy was known as “Reed Island” after the creek that runs through the area, a branch of the Buffalo Bayou. The creek was filled with tall walking sticks, not native to the area. It was supposed to have been planted by either the Karankawa Indians or Spanish explorers to help with the fur trap until the 1820s.

In 1845, James J. Crawford received a land grant that included this area. Hot summers and thick clay soil made it difficult to attract settlers to the area. Crawford, Peter Black, John Sills, and the families of former slaves Thomas (Mary) Robinson and Milto McGinnis were the only recorded residents of Cane Island in 1875.

In 1895 James Oliver Thomas laid out the town, and in January 1896 the town of Cathy was named through the Thomas Post Office app. The name “Kathy” came from the MKT Railroad Company, which was commonly referred to as “K-T” (also its stock symbol). This common name soon evolved into “Kathy”.

The expectation of prosperity will lead to the growth of a new city that has been built around the original railroad stop and railroad tracks. By the early 1900s, many families arrived by train and wagon to settle in Katy. Cotton, peanuts and corn were the first successful crops, but rice soon became the main crop. cash crop. Katy later became known for growing rice; The first concrete rice dryers in the state of Texas were built here in 1944 and still remain attractions. The farming community supported local business well, as several hotels, shops, stables, and saloons flourished.

On September 8, 1900, the city’s first efforts were swept away by the Great Galveston Hurricane of 1900, the deadliest hurricane in US history. All but two of Cathy’s original homes were lost in the storm. Despite this, Kane Island was rebuilt and continued to grow.

In 1945, the city of Katy was incorporated into the municipality. C. L. Baird was the first mayor. Boundaries were defined by identifying the area that had the most residents and was of a reasonable size for city services to manage.

The construction and opening of Interstate 10 in 1966 allowed the area to develop rapidly as Houston expanded westward. In 2008, this section was widened to an average of 26 lanes, and in some areas as few as 30 lanes, including 6 feeders and 4 HOVs, for approximately 22 miles, making it the widest freeway in the world. The city’s population was 9,866 in 1988, 8,005 in 1990, 11,775 in 2000, and 15,591 in 2014. Currently, Katy has grown to over 16,000 residents and nearly 270,000 people in the Greater Katy area. Kathy has received national awards for growth and sustainability. [8] including Gadberry Group, naming Cathy one of the “9 of 2009” most notable high-growth regions in the US. [9]

Lately Katy, Texas has become very popular in the hip-hop community. On May 1, 2020, Aubrey “Drake” Graham, rapper and Toronto native released his surprise mixtape “Dark Lane Demo Tapes”. Filled with leaked songs and internet snippets, the project is littered with references to American and Canadian territories. One of the most popular songs “Desires” featuring longtime friend and artist Naivadius “Future” Wilburn actually has a lot to do with the city.

“I had to put you where no one could find you. The mansion is in sticks and there’s nothing around you, Kathy, Texas, Dallas, Texas. You know, in a different environment.”

Speaking directly to Kathy’s remote nature, the song pays homage to the beautiful mansions and sprawling acres that are synonymous with the community. [ citation needed ]

Burgers, nuns and shooting on set: lawsuits against American stars

      Illustration: Pravo.ru/Petr Kozlov

Celebrities from the USA often end up in court. Usually the reasons are banal: divorce, division of property and disputes with intrusive paparazzi. But sometimes non-standard lawsuits are filed against celebrities. For example, Katy Perry sued the nuns for a French-style castle. The trial turned out to be so emotional that one of the defendants died right in the courtroom. And Oprah Winfrey defended freedom of speech: on the air of her program, she announced that she would no longer eat burgers, and for this the farmers sued her. We have collected a selection of high-profile and sometimes shocking cases involving overseas famous people. Johnny Depp vs Amber Heard

The loudest and most scandalous case of recent times was the dispute between ex-spouses Johnny Depp and Amber Heard.

      Practice

Actor sues his ex-wife for publishing an op-ed in The Washington Post in which she claimed she suffered domestic violence in her marriage to him.

Depp insisted that this was slander and that, on the contrary, it was Hurd who beat him. The actress filed a counterclaim. During the trial, all the details of the couple’s personal life became known to the general public, including Depp’s drug addiction and Heard’s mental problems.

On June 1, the District Court of Fairfax County, Virginia, put an end to this dispute. The court found the actress guilty of defamation and recovered $15 million from her in favor of her ex-husband. Hurd’s counterclaims were partially satisfied, awarding her $2 million in compensation. However, the actress is going to appeal against the decision of the court.

In this case, not only the plaintiff and the defendant, but also their lawyers aroused interest. The plaintiff was represented by the law firm Brown Rudnick, including Camila Vazquez and Benjamin Chu. They severely interrogated Hurd and witnesses from the opponent’s side, and rumors appeared on social networks that an affair had begun between Vasquez and Depp. But the lawyer denies any romantic relationship.

Vasquez, Chu, and Depp’s entire legal team quickly became Internet stars. Video clips of the process with their participation are gaining millions of views. And after the end of the case, Vasquez was promoted to a law firm partner.

Hurd was represented by Charlson Bredehoft Cohen Brown & Nadelhaft. But unlike Depp’s defenders, Heard’s legal team has been ridiculed for its slowness, frequent technical difficulties, and inappropriate questions.

      Oprah Winfrey Vs Burgers

In 1996, there was an epidemic of mad cow disease in the UK, which led to the slaughter of 1.5 million animals. People also suffered from the disease: 20 people who ate infected beef died. The epidemic received wide publicity, and even in the United States they started talking about the further spread of the disease.

Popular TV presenter Oprah Winfrey was also on the subject when she invited Howard Lyman, a former cattle breeder and an employee of the Humane Society of the USA, to her program. On the air, he said that Americans should refrain from eating beef, and noted that mad cow disease is much more serious than HIV.

“This is cause for concern. I will not eat burgers anymore, ”Winfrey said at the end of the program.

Livestock prices dropped 10% the day after the broadcast. The farmers believed that Winfrey’s transfer was to blame, so they sued her. The main plaintiff in the case was Paul Engler of Texas, who alleged that the journalist violated the law on falsely discrediting perishable foods, which is in force in 13 US states. Due to the transfer, Texas farmers lost at least $ 10 million, now the presenter must return them.

Winfrey turned to attorney Charles Babcock of Jackson Walker L.L.P. for defense. At first, he assured the principal that he would quickly win the case, but later he realized that he was greatly mistaken. One investigation ended up taking a year and a half. Then the case was considered by a jury, which sided with Winfrey and defended her right to freedom of speech.

Babcock later told the media that the law on falsely discrediting perishable foods still exists in Texas, but after the Winfrey case, no one used it in court.

Gwyneth Paltrow, Goop cosmetics and false advertising

Actress Gwyneth Paltrow launched her own brand of Goop cosmetics in 2008. Since then, the company has been subjected to constant criticism from doctors and scientists. After all, brand claims that its products treat and help prevent diseases do not always correspond to reality.

So, in 2018, Goop paid $145,000 fines for false advertising. Truth in Advertising filed a complaint with prosecutors about three of the brand’s products: Jade Egg and Rose Quartz Egg for Women’s Health, Inner Judge Flower Essence Blend. In the description of the goods, it was said that eggs will help balance hormones, regulate the menstrual cycle and prevent diseases of the female reproductive system. And the mixture of flower essences should save buyers from depression.

As it turns out, these claims are false and not based on scientific research. And some gynecologists say that the women’s health eggs that Goop sells are generally dangerous. Therefore, the company paid a large fine and promised to return the money to customers for these goods.

In 2021, the company was sued again. This time around, customers are complaining that the brand’s candles explode when set on fire. The plaintiffs are seeking $5 million in damages from the brand. The trial has not yet begun.

      4

      Katy Perry vs. Nuns

In 1972, the Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary purchased a 30,000-square-foot French-style castle from businessman Daniel Donoghue for $600,000. Along with the property, they received eight acres of land and a small chapel. Donoghue decided to sell the house after his wife’s death and even gave the nuns a big discount.

In 2011, the Archdiocese of Los Angeles decided to sell the mansion and forced the nuns to move out. Potential buyers began to come there, one of whom was singer Katy Perry. She offered to buy the property for $14.5 million, and Archbishop Jose Gomez agreed. At that time, only two nuns from the community of the “Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary” remained alive, and they were against such a deal.

Sisters Rita Callanan and Katherine Rose Holtzman found a video on the Internet of Perry joking about selling his soul to the devil in exchange for success.

“Even mentioning that she will sell her soul to Satan is contrary to our principles and beliefs. Katy Perry represents everything we don’t believe in. Selling the castle to her would be a sin,” Holtzman said.

Therefore, the nuns themselves found a buyer, it was restaurateur and developer Dane Hollister. But the archdiocese and Perry sued the new owner, alleging that she took advantage of vulnerable elderly nuns whom she persuaded to oppose the church.

Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Stephanie Bowick sided with the archdiocese and Perry, holding that the nuns had no right to sell the castle. Hollister was found guilty of fraud and she was given heavy fines. During the trial, the nuns Callanan and Holtzman supported Hollister. Holtzman was so worried that she fainted and died right in the courtroom.

Katy Perry never bought the castle. She did not receive permission for the deal from the Pope.

Alec Baldwin and shooting on set

In 2021, while filming the new western Rust, actor Alec Baldwin shot and killed director of photography Galina Hutchins and wounded director Joel Sousa in the shoulder. According to the actor, this happened by accident: he was just rehearsing one of the scenes with a revolver. But the weapon turned out to be loaded, so people were injured.

Charges against Baldwin have not yet been brought forward, the tragedy is still being investigated. The police are trying to figure out how the gun, which was supposed to be an ordinary prop, turned out to be a combat one. Several people were responsible for him on the set, but it is not clear which of them is to blame. So far, investigators have managed to find out that the site of the western was indeed unsafe: a few days before the incident, two other revolvers were fired.

Crew members began filing civil lawsuits against Baldwin and the film’s producers. For example, production designer Serge Svetnoy accused them of negligence. And the family of Galina Hutchins filed a lawsuit against the actor, film crew and props, accusing them of death by negligence. Proceedings have not yet begun.

      Abortion Pill, Cathy, TX

Abortion Pill (Medicated abortion near Katy, TX)

Medical abortion is often referred to as the “abortion pill. ” These are 2 sets of pills taken by a trained doctor. The first pill, mifepristone, stops the pregnancy from growing. The next set of tablets, misoprostol, is taken on the same day (at the earliest), but no later than 72 hours.

Not everyone is eligible for abortion pills. You must be within the first 10 weeks of your last period (LMP) to qualify. Please call Whole Woman’s Health near Katy, Texas to find out more about your eligibility.

      Information about abortion pills

Since it was first approved by the FDA in 2000, medical abortion, also known as the abortion pill, has changed the way abortion care is provided. It is extremely safe and effective for less than 12 weeks of pregnancy. In 2016, the FDA confirmed that “the efficacy and safety of medical abortion has become well established through research and experience, and serious complications have been found to be exceedingly rare.” In a 2015 guideline, the World Health Organization (WHO) identified three distinct components of self-management of medical abortion during the first trimester: self-assessment of eligibility; taking mifepristone and misoprostol without the direct supervision of a doctor; and self-assessment of the completeness of the abortion process using pregnancy tests and checklists.

An FDA-approved medical abortion regimen consists of two drugs: mifepristone, which blocks progesterone, a hormone needed to continue a pregnancy; and misoprostol taken 24 to 48 hours later induces contractions and terminates the pregnancy. The ability of a person to self-administer mifepristone and misoprostol after receiving instructions from a provider is well known, and there is evidence that it is safe and effective for someone to do so without the provider’s direct supervision.

Medical abortion is over 95% effective. In cases where the recommended dosage does not result in termination of the pregnancy, additional medications or an aspiration (suction) abortion may be required to complete the abortion. The expected side effects are usually mild and similar to the symptoms of a miscarriage: bleeding, uterine cramps, and pain.

      Misoprostol-only abortion near Katy, TX

Some US healthcare providers near Katy, Texas, and many other healthcare providers around the world use a misoprostol-only protocol to complete an abortion. Many people who self-manage their abortion care also follow these protocols. Although this regimen is not approved by the FDA, it is widely used and is also effective. Additional information on WHO misoprostol protocols can be found at www.who.int/health-topics/abortion.

What are the possible risks of taking abortion pills?

Medical abortion has been used safely in the US for over 20 years. Serious complications are very rare, but can happen. Keep in mind that abortion at any stage of pregnancy by any means is safer than childbirth.

      Complications may include:

      • abortion pills don’t work and the pregnancy doesn’t end
      • part of the pregnancy tissue remains in your uterus
      • bleeding too much or too long
      • infection
      • allergic reaction to one of the drugs

These are not common problems. If they do occur, they are usually easy to control with medication or other treatments. In extremely rare cases, some complications can be very serious or even life-threatening. Call our team near Katy, Texas right away if you are:

      • No bleeding within 24 hours of taking your second medication (misoprostol).
      • You have severe vaginal bleeding that seeps through more than 2 maxi pads per hour for 2 or more consecutive hours.
      • Large clots (larger than a lemon) pass after 2 hours.
      • Abdominal pain or cramps that do not improve with pain medication.
      • You have a temperature of 100.4℉ or higher more than 24 hours after taking misoprostol.
      • Weakness, nausea, vomiting and/or diarrhea that persists for more than 24 hours after taking misoprostol.

You should feel better the day after the pregnancy is over. Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, or fever for more than 24 hours after taking misoprostol (second set of tablets) may be a sign of an infection. If you have any of these symptoms, call Whole Woman’s Health near Katy, Texas. In very rare cases, serious problems can lead to death, but abortion is generally very safe. In fact, abortion is 14 times safer than childbirth.

If you have complications from your medical abortion, you will need to return to our clinic near Katy, Texas. In the unlikely event that you are still pregnant, your doctor will discuss your options with you. You may need another dose of medication or an abortion procedure at the clinic to end the pregnancy.

Like all medicines, abortion pills are not for everyone. If you have certain medical conditions or are taking certain medications, abortion pills may not be right for you. Our providers serving Cathy, Texas can help you decide if abortion pills are right for you.

Do abortion pills have long-term side effects?

Abortion pill is safe and effective. This is a very common way to have an abortion, and millions of people have safely used it.

There are many myths about the consequences of abortion. But here are some facts:

      • Unless there is a rare serious complication that has not been left untreated, there is no risk to future pregnancies or overall health.
      • Abortion does not increase the risk of breast cancer.
      • Abortion does not affect fertility.
      • Abortion will not cause problems for future pregnancies such as birth defects, miscarriage, infant death, ectopic pregnancy, premature birth, or low birth weight.

Serious long-term emotional problems after an abortion are extremely rare. Mental health problems after an abortion are more likely to occur in people who may already have mental health problems, or in people who terminate a desired pregnancy. Our health care providers can provide you with accurate information about the side effects of an in-clinic abortion, the risks, or any other concerns you may have.
