– My kids have attended Montessori School run by Shantha Pathak for the past 2 years. I am very impressed by her teaching skills and general planning skills. She has catered to my children’s individual learning needs including customized teaching plans based on my feedback.
She planned exciting topics for the summer camps to keep the kids engaged on a variety of topics outside regular academics to give a wholesome experience to the kids. I felt very comfortable leaving my kids in her school in a safe environment knowing that they will be well taken care of academically and emotionally.
In addition, my observation has been that she is a good supervisor to her staff and runs a tight ship when it comes to the school.
Shantha’s approach is very thorough, planful and takes feedback from the parents very seriously to provide a very good experience for the parents and the kids.Saswati Pal
– I got an opportunity to see Orion Montessori school in action. My daughter who was senior in Interlake IB program got an opportunity work as an intern at Orion. I saw what goes behind the scenes. I got an opportunity to see the prep work, the planning and the organization that is involved in teaching the kids. Shantha took time and effort to mentor my daughter. My daughter learnt a lot. I noticed in the kids in her school where were very curious. They were hooked on to the class even when things operated remotely. I saw the kids enjoying the class thoroughly, they were having a discussion with the teachers and friends. Everyday there were new things to learn. Their vocabulary was impressive. Every year Orion kids get into the gifted program. The curriculum was balanced with lot of hands-on activities from art, science, math and reading. There were fun assignments to keep them busy. Orion is one of the best I have come across I would strongly recommend Orion to parents who are seeking for a good preschool, Pre-K, K and summer camps.

– Orion Montessori provides an excellent foundation for kids in all aspects of growth: mental, academic, social, physical. My daughter started with online sessions about 5 months in this pandemic. Impressed with Ms. Shanta’s teaching skills, my daughter has been going to in-person Pre-K classes since September 2021. The school provides a unique customized STEAM curriculum.Ms. Shanta is a highly experienced and talented educator and determines kids’ innate abilities and changes the teaching methodology accordingly. Apart from academics she also focuses on other enrichment programs like music, art, craft, yoga, science experiments, outdoor activities etc. She also serves nutritious lunches and snacks.
My daughter loves going to this school, and I have seen a lot of improvement in her reading and writing skills. I highly recommend Orion Montessori for the efforts they put in to give a quality education.

KCP is Celebrating 75 Years! Our program was started in 1947 by a group of moms interested in a cooperative program for their children. We opened our doors in a converted chicken coop on Finn Hill. We have come a long way to our present location in Lake Washington United Methodist Church, where we have rented space since the 1960s. |
