What I love to do!: Recreational walks, attending sporting events, reading, and spending time with family and friends
It has been an honor and privilege to work at the LEAP School for over 35 years! I started working at LEAP immediately after graduating from Gordon College in 1985. Throughout the years I have enjoyed my experiences as a classroom teacher, Curriculum Director, Upper Preschool Director and Program Director. I value my interactions and relationships with children, parents and teachers. Throughout my childhood I had many wonderful teachers who inspired me to be a teacher. They were dedicated to their profession and demonstrated a genuine love for learning as well as respect and compassion for others. Some of my favorite children’s books focus on these themes such as Big Al by Andrew Clements Yoshi, Dandelion by Don Freeman, A Bad Case of Stripes by David Shannon and The Kissing Hand by Audrey Penn . As an adult, one of my favorite books is Tuesdays with Morrie by Mitch Albom.

What I love to do: Walking, crafting and going on adventures with my 3 year old daughter, dog and husband.
Working at the LEAP School has been one of the most meaningful experiences of my life. Every day is filled with joy and laughter. To be able to see each child grow through different daily learning experiences truly fills my heart. I also love all the different families I get to work with each year. Everyone always brings something special and different to the school. I feel that having the opportunity to lead teach each age group throughout the years along with leading the team through Curriculum Director and now Program Director has allowed me to see through the many different lenses in early childhood development. I have many favorite children’s books that I often read but one of my all time favorites is Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs by Judi Barrett. This book has always been a favorite of mine because the whole family uses their imagination and they capture your attention with the silly pictures and the story telling within the book. My greatest inspiration is my grandmother who had a home daycare throughout my childhood in Maine. Not only did she provide a safe environment for children, but she gave each child the love and attention they needed. Watching her provide for so many children inspired my love for children and families.

As a teacher I love the spontaneous and uninhibited questions that a child asks and their joy in discovering something new, no matter how simple. In my role as an Admissions and Human Resource Director I am eager to be a helpful resource to all parents as they are exploring preschool options for their child(ren) and to teachers that are seeking a career in Early Childhood Education. Harold and the Purple Crayon has always been my favorite children’s book as Harold is constantly on a new and exciting adventure. As I am entering my 37th year at the LEAP School I continue to enjoy learning something new every day!

As Director of Admissions and Administration, I have the pleasure of introducing LEAP to inquiring families! I love having the opportunity to share with families all about the wonderful educational experience LEAP has to offer. In my 9 years at LEAP, I’ve been fortunate to help many families and children start the process to create their foundation of learning. When I first learned of the LEAP School, I was deeply impressed with the balance of support that is given to children, teachers, and families. I now have 3 children of my own (1 who has graduated LEAP and 1 currently enrolled!) and my experience at LEAP as a parent has given me a greater perspective in my job as an Admissions Director. My goal every day is to be a resourceful part of the support system that LEAP has in place for families.

I am so grateful to find myself in a profession where I find inspiration every day. The children, parents, and teachers that I am surrounded by consistently teach me new things about love, learning and joy. I have been working at LEAP since 1992 and in that time I’ve had the opportunity to work with all the ages we serve. I also have a background in Elementary Education with an emphasis on literacy development. I’ve have raised my own children in this community, and am eager to be a support to other parents as they navigate the years ahead. I’m looking forward to building our community together.

What I love to do!: Reading, cooking, hiking, biking, skiing and camping. I love the adventure of a road trip with my family! On a lazy day I enjoy playing Scrabble, watching movies, baking (and eating) cookies. My favorite place to be is anywhere on the coast of Maine.
While studying Early Childhood Education in college, I found the preschool/toddler practicums to provide the greatest sense of satisfaction, gratification and fun. I observed how a developmentally appropriate curriculum allows a young child to learn through their interests, and discover through their explorations. I observed how a developmentally appropriate curriculum allows teachers to treat each child as the individual they are; and to consider all domains of development and growth in their teaching including (but not limited to!) physical, cognitive and social/emotional development. Most importantly, I found young children to be incredibly interesting, caring, smart and engaging. I learned that preschool and toddler teachers have the opportunity to participate in a most fascinating time of a person’s life. Upon reflection, a career as a preschool teacher and director has exceeded my expectations! It has been more than thirty years since my first experience in a preschool classroom, and today I continue to find the same sense of satisfaction, gratification and fun as I did all those years ago.

From the time I was a young child, I was always drawn to children— their creativity, natural love, and innate wonder about the world around them. Coming from a loving family, I realized the impact that caring relationships had on children’s growth. I became the neighborhood babysitter throughout my middle school and high school years and loved every minute of my time with the kids. In my sophomore year, I very reluctantly went from my public high school to an all girls’ independent school, but it turned out be an incredibly enlightening experience for me. The independent school was very strong in the creative arts, small class sizes, offered amazingly inspirational teachers, and had hands-on learning. It was this experience that helped me to realize that someday I wanted to be an educator and have a school of my own. I knew then that education was the pathway to change and growth, and I have loved creating that experience for children and being part of LEAP since it began in 1985. No one is more proud of my directors and teachers than I am; their positive impact on children, parents, and each other is an inspiration for me! My favorite childhood book is Ms. Rumphius, by Barbara Cooney. It takes place on the coast of Maine, a special place for my family to go each year. The context of the book is to make the world a better place, which is what we do at the LEAP School every day!

My son was a bit apprehensive about starting preschool. He now absolutely loves it! Teachers and staff are wonderful with him, he adores all of them! He always comes home excited to show me something new that he learned.
– Amber Nicole
Amazing Curriculum
My little has been going here since she was only 8 weeks. She is now two, and sad to say we will be moving to another county soon and no other daycare will ever compare to this one. If you need to take your littles to any daycare in the Bedford area or surrounding areas take them here! Amazing curriculum, caring/loving teachers!

Full Day Preschool and Kindergarten Program
Our Full Day Preschool & Kindergarten Program begins at 8:30 AM and concludes at 2:00 PM.
Upon registering and based upon availability, parents can design a weekly schedule that meets their family and child’s needs. Kindergarten children spend at least 4 days a week with us in order to be best prepared for First Grade.
All children in our preschool programs are fully potty-trained.
Extended care is available daily beginning at 7:15 AM and ending at 5:30 PM .
All students are dropped off and picked up using our valet line. Our friendly teachers greet each student upon arrival. Temperatures and health screenings are completed before a child exits his/her car seat or booster. Parents enjoy daily interaction with teachers or directors at the drop-off and pick-up times. Valet drop-off and pick-up is available throughout the day, beginning at 7:15 AM through 5:30 PM.
Students at New Morning Schools spend their days in developmentally appropriate class cohorts. Within these cohorts, and with the guidance of a consistent teaching team, students have a balance of learning in the areas of literacy, seasonal lessons, math, science, independence and citizenship.
In addition to the daily curriculum offered, students enrolled in our Full Day Preschool Program are encouraged to consider the following special programs:
Learn to Ski Program – New Morning Schools’ Learn to Ski Program runs in partnership with Pats Peak Ski Area. Beginning in January and running for 5 consecutive weeks, many of our 4 and 5 year old students enrolled in our Full Day Program participate in this invigorating opportunity. Students ride to the mountain with parent chaperones where they participate in a ski lesson with a Pats Peak instructor, snack, some free ski time and lunch. It is a great experience for the students (and the parents who chaperone). There are additional fees that apply and a limited number of students can enroll in this program.
The IMAGINE Program – Located on the same campus, our school age after school enrichment program is an option for after care for students in our Kindergarten program. The IMAGINE Program offers the opportunity for Kindergarten students to experience a school-aged program during after school hours. Click here for more information about The IMAGINE Program.
Morning Preschool Program
Our AM Preschool Program offers a morning-only program for those families looking for a shorter day. Morning Preschool begins at 8:30 AM with a 12:00 PM pick-up.
Students in the AM Preschool program spend their day in small cohorts and a consistent teaching team. Just like the students who stay for the full day program, our AM Preschool students have a balance of learning in the areas of literacy, seasonal lessons, math, science, independence and citizenship.
Our Morning Preschool Program admits students on a rolling basis as space allows. As a student turns 3 and is potty-trained, if space allows, we will gladly welcome him/her to our classroom.
Upon registering and based upon availability, parents can choose a 5 morning a week schedule, Monday-Wednesday-Friday schedule or Tuesday-Thursday schedule.

AMERICA’S MOST ACCREDITED
We’re so proud!
Nationally only 10% of daycares are accredited – nearly 100% of our learning centers are. That’s a big difference,
and that means KinderCare kids are getting the very best. Here’s why.
SCHOOL-READY
What Learning Looks Like
Our talented early-childhood teachers set kids down the path toward becoming lifelong learners in a positive, safe, and nurturing environment.
Bedford Harwood KinderCare Programs
Infant Programs (6 weeks–1 year)
Leaving your baby in someone else’s care is a big step. Everyone at our
centers—most importantly, our naturally gifted infant teachers—will work with
you to make sure the transition goes smoothly. When you step into our infant
classroom, you’ll see how much we want your infant to feel safe, loved, and
ready to explore their world.
Toddler Programs (1–2 Years)
Everything in our toddler classroom is designed for little explorers. That’s
because a lot is going on at this age. When your child is wandering all over the
place, that means they’re learning and discovering new things every day. We’ll
help them explore their interests (and find new ones!) as they play and learn.
Discovery Preschool Programs (2–3 Years)
This age is filled with so much wonder and curiosity. That’s why we offer a ton
of books and toys and bring artwork down to kids eye level. Children in
discovery preschool also begin to learn how we all work together in a
classroom. Simple math and science, pretend play, and group play help them
get used to a more structured school setting.
Preschool Programs (3–4 Years)
This age is all about expression, when kids really start to form their own ideas
about what they want to play and how they want to create. Every day in our
preschool classroom, your child will explore science experiments, create
artwork, and play pretend—all the skills needed for their big next step:
kindergarten!
Prekindergarten Programs (4–5 Years)
When you walk into one of our pre-K classrooms, you’ll see artwork and
writing displayed around the room. Labels are everywhere to help kids connect
letters with words. You’ll also see pictures on the walls that reflect the families
in our community. Your child will also deepen their knowledge in language,
math, science, Spanish, and social skills.
Before- and After-School Programs (5–12 Years)
You can count on us to provide reliable care for your school-ager while you’re
at work, with safe transportation from our center to your child’s school and
back! Whether your child wants to start a drama club, build a volcano, or
create a comic book, they will have a place to follow their dreams. Your child
will start and end the day with a whole lot of fun!
School Break Programs (preschool, prekindergarten, and school-age)
Winter break, spring break, summer break—when school’s out (but you still need to work), you
can count on KinderCare to provide a safe and supportive learning environment that’s focused
on fun. We welcome children ages 5–12 during school break times and make sure they have a
sensational, screen-free experience they won’t forget.
Participating Child Care Aware Center
KinderCare partners with Child Care Aware® of America to offer fee assistance for

Learning Adventures – Enrichment Program
Cooking Academy™ (3 – 12 Years)
In Cooking Academy, kids learn new recipes from cultures around the world and
develop a healthy relationship with food. They’ll whip up everything from Southwest
rainbow lettuce wraps to pumpkin muffins, building their skills in STEM, communication,
and more along the way. And yes—little chefs get to eat their culinary creations!
Music Explorers™ (2 – 4 Years)
KinderCare families are already giving a standing ovation to our newest Learning
Adventures program: Music Explorers! Kids will learn to sing, move, listen, play
instruments, and even create their own tunes. Our original curriculum blends math,
science, social studies, literacy, and mindfulness (think yoga!) for a uniquely KinderCare
way of learning the foundations of music.
Phonics Adventures® (2 – 4 Years)
Learning how to read is a whole lot of fun at KinderCare! We help kids grow to love
books and words (and get ready for kindergarten) in our Phonics Adventures program.
From discovering the basics of vowels to practicing poetry, kids learn all about letters
and sounds in small-group lessons made just for their age group. (Bonus: Kids who
attend our phonics program are more prepared than their peers for school—and we
have the data to prove it.)
Spanish
Spanish Adventures provides young learners with a foundation for later success with
the Spanish language. Music, games, children’s Spanish literature, and other tools give
children multiple opportunities to hear, practice, and see Spanish language to develop
vocabulary and conversation skills. Curriculum includes lessons on greetings, numbers,
colors, animals, family, body parts, and pets, as well as how to engage conversationally
during common scenarios at home, a restaurant, or at the zoo.
Our Teachers
We’re the only company in early childhood education to select teachers based on natural talent. Being a great educator isn’t enough though.
KinderCare teachers are also amazing listeners, nurturers, boo-boo fixers, and smile-makers. Put more simply,
we love our teachers and your child will, too.

A KINDERCARE TEACHER WITH
An Artist’s Heart
“My classroom is full of art!” says Mary Annthipie-Bane, an award-winning early childhood educator at KinderCare. Art and creative expression, she says, help children discover who they really are.
We put our best-in-class teachers in a best-in-class workplace. We’re so proud to have been named one of Gallup’s 37 winners of the Great Workplace Award.
When you put great teachers in an engaging center, your children will experience
an amazing place to learn and grow.

When my daughter was one year old, she was diagnosed with Glycogen Storage Disease, which causes her to be hypoglycemic. She required frequent blood sugar checks and a protein mixture when her blood sugar was low. At the time of her diagnosis, we could not find a facility willing to provide her with the special care she required. The KinderCare on Harwood was so willing to help. After obtaining the proper District Manager approvals, they took on my daughter. All the teachers were willing to learn her special care processes as well as help her grow as a child. She has been with this location for the past four years. It saddens me that she now has to leave to start kindergarten, but she is ready and prepared thanks to the staff at Harwood. I would highly recommend the teachers and directors to anyone looking to enroll their child. Each and every person working there truly make a loving and safe learning environment for each and every child. We will miss you, but will be back during the summer!

I want to thank you and your team for everything you do! My boys have been enrolled since my oldest was 7 months old and my youngest was 8 weeks old. It is very comforting to drop my kids off in the morning and then pick them up after school, and know that they are well taken care of and that they are learning. The kids have built great friendships with the teachers and some of the students. It will be a hard day when the time comes and kids are too old to come here!

It is only my son’s first day at KinderCare, but I must say, so far I have been impressed. From the moment I walked into the daycare I sensed a loving, peaceful environment. The teachers really seem like they love the children. My son jumped right into one of the teacher’s arms, which was a clear sign that the daycare was a perfect fit. We have had problems in the past with other daycare centers, so I am glad that we finally found a place with quality care. As a mother, or a parent in general, it is hard to just drop off your child and go off to work; but I believe if your mind is at ease with the place you drop your son/daughter off, it makes it so much easier. I really appreciate the experience I have had so far, and I look forward to my child growing up at KinderCare.

Abstract, the article discusses the importance of the formation of constructive skills of preschool children. The experience of the kindergarten on the development of children’s speech skills using the game set “Gifts of Froebel”is presented.
Keywords: construction, educational activity, game sets “Frebel’s Gifts”, mnemotables.
Today society needs socially active, independent and creative people who strive for self-development. Teachers of preschool organizations face a difficult task: developing the initial creative skills and abilities of children, supporting and developing their curiosity.
How can we ensure that the knowledge children have gained in kindergarten will help them later on in school?
Formation of motivation for the development and learning of a preschooler, as well as creative cognitive activity – these are the main tasks that the teacher faces today within the framework of the Federal State Educational Standard. In this regard, at present, design in kindergarten is given a significant place in working with children of all age groups, since it has extremely wide opportunities for mental, moral, aesthetic, and labor education.
In preschool pedagogy, children’s construction is considered as a means of comprehensive development of the child. Construction is, first of all, an important means of mental education of children.
Construction in the Federal State Educational Standard is defined as a component of the mandatory part of the program, a type of activity that contributes to the development of research and creative activity of children, as well as the ability to observe and experiment.
Planning and organization of educational activities in kindergarten is based on the natural interest of pupils in the development and construction of various mechanisms. A large selection of designers allows you to work with children of different ages and in different areas (design, modeling of physical processes and phenomena, programming,) [1, p. 110].
“Scientific interdisciplinary research”
Children try to determine what an object is like and how it differs from
others; learn to measure the height, length and width of objects; make the first attempts in solving constructive problems “by eye”; develop imaginative thinking; learn to imagine objects in different spatial positions, mentally change their relative position. In the process of educational activities, work is underway on the development of fine motor skills, creative inclinations, intelligence, imagination, the development of monologue and dialogic speech, and the expansion of vocabulary.
Children’s construction (creating various buildings from building materials, making crafts and toys from paper, cardboard, wood, etc.) most often turns into play and is an activity that meets the interests of children. Play often accompanies the building process, and crafts made by children are commonly used in games. Building for play brings children together. During construction, they learn to discuss the building plan together, come to a joint decision, learn to subordinate their desires to constructive ideas that are supported by the majority, and also defend their ideas about a better building option. Children learn to reconstruct an already erected building, etc.
That is why the most important task of teachers of preschool educational organizations is to optimize and organize RPPS in kindergarten to enhance, expand and enrich the constructive and play activities of children; creation of conditions for the development of technical creativity in conjunction with creative play in the space and time of preschool childhood, in space and time of the preschool group of the kindergarten.
The use of the Froebel’s Gifts practical guide can contribute to the successful solution of the problems of the educational program.
F. Froebel believed that preschool children learn the material best in practical activities, presented in a playful way [2, p. 6].
XIV International Scientific and Practical Conference
I would especially like to note the development of speech – here the possibilities of the “Gifts of Frobel” are very diverse.
A technique that children like is “Sketching what they have read”. Taking the initiative, they gladly use it when memorizing poetry, when solving mathematical problems, “sketches” of various literary works and their stories, thoughts, drawing fantastic “canvases”.
During educational activities for the development of speech, children do not just read (listen), but lay out a story from various figures, agreeing in advance which characters will correspond to the characters and objects from what they read. In the future, this turns into the use of mnemonic tables technology, and pupils can not only use ready-made ones, but also create their own mnemonic tables on a variety of topics. For example, memorizing a poem: “In the yard.”
In the modern world, preschoolers get to know and perceive new educational technologies, interactive aids and games with a bang. With the help of a teacher, the children quickly and with pleasure master the didactic manual “Froebel’s Gifts”.
For the successful mastering of this technology in a group space, free access for children are placed algorithms for working with the Froebel Gifts, a verbal piggy bank for self-retelling and memorizing various texts.
Despite the fact that Froebel’s gifts have long been known, they are still relevant and significant. They can be used in any field of knowledge. And by adding your imagination to this, you can introduce the child to new material so vividly and impressively that he will remain in his memory and will continue to arouse interest.

When visiting a school that is located within the city, one does not always expect such a scale. A huge, monumental main building, a large, regular courtyard, with other buildings located around. The appearance of the school and the feeling of being in it fully correspond to its status and established reputation. Before making a decision, you should weigh all the pros and cons for your child.

Secondary education in the UK, prices and costs of secondary school education in England in 2022
Table of contents
UniWestMedia has been working with several reputable boarding schools in England for more than 15 years, presenting various educational programs to Russian schoolchildren and their parents. You can start your journey to getting a secondary school education in the UK from the age of seven, while it is possible to choose exactly the educational institution and the training scheme that suits the child in the best way.
The English school system has evolved over several centuries, and today it is considered one of the best and most prestigious in the world, despite the certain conservatism and rigor of British educational standards. In the UK there is a division of schools by gender: separate institutions for boys, girls and mixed.
Secondary education in England: cost
How to enter the Pancion school
British schools are quite diverse, but the most common are privileged panic schools that provide elitist education with a verified process of education and education and education process and classical teaching methods.
Studying in such schools, in addition to gaining knowledge, guarantees the acquisition of secular manners, discipline and good manners, as well as extensive connections in business and politics, because children of famous and influential people often study here. A child of any nationality and confession can enter a private school, subject to successful completion of entrance examinations, which have features in different institutions.
In addition to the necessary documents translated into English (a report card with grades for the past 1-2 years in a Russian school, characteristics, results of previously passed exams, etc. ), an interview is often required (sometimes even via Skype is allowed) ), pass exams in several subjects and write a test to determine the level of English proficiency.
If necessary, an individual language learning program is created for the child to successfully pass school course GCSE . “UniWestMedia” recommends early immersion of the child in the language environment – from the age of seven, which allows you to master the language as “native”.
The cost of a full board year of study varies from £20,000 to £40,000. Registration fees, honey. insurance, cultural and entertainment activities, excursions, services of guardians (mandatory under the Children’s Law and the Child Protection Act ) are paid additionally.
The structure of secondary education
Pre-school education in England starts at the age of 3-4 until the child reaches the age of 7. They get it in nursery kindergartens, and from the age of five at two-year preparatory courses at Pre-preparatory school , where children are taught writing, reading and counting in a playful way. Preschool institutions can be both private and public.
The structure of school education in the United Kingdom is divided into three parts:
1) Elementary School:
- Primary School – for children from four to eleven years old.
- Junior School – for children from seven to thirteen.
A general elementary school course is taught, after which special SATs are held, which are necessary for transfer to high school.
2) Secondary School:
- Secondary School – further education of schoolchildren from the age of 11.
- Grammar School – also from the age of eleven, but with in-depth study of subjects.
- Senior Schools – for children from 13 years old.
Subjects such as: mathematics, English, literature, biology, physics, music, history, geography, chemistry, theater arts, information and computer technologies, foreign languages, physical education are studied. Religious studies are taught in most private schools. Sports games such as rugby, tennis, cricket and others are widespread.
After graduation from high school, exams are taken to obtain the General Certificate of Secondary Education (GCSE) of secondary education. Its presence allows you to start working, but not enough to enter the university.
3) University Entrance Exam Preparation (SixthForm):
Adolescents aged sixteen to eighteen can take A-level, IB, Cambridge Pre-U courses, with a diploma of secondary education “advanced” level. At the same time, students are finally determined with their future direction and specialization. The UnivestMedia Language Center provides assistance in preparing for admission to universities in the UK.
In England there are special Tertiary Colleges offering post-secondary vocational education with a GNVQ vocational qualification certificate. Tertiary Colleges are an alternative for pre-university schools.
Organization of the educational process in schools
The 38-week academic year consists of autumn (September-December), spring (January-March), summer (April-June) trimesters. Long school holidays are provided between trimesters: six weeks in the summer, 2-3 weeks for Christmas and Easter. There is also a week of holidays in the middle of each trimester.
The school week is five days from Monday to Friday. In addition to classes in school classrooms, laboratories, gyms, computer classes for children, on-site classes are organized, excursions are conducted. Lessons start at 9:00 am and end at 3:00 pm.
After school, the children spend time in circles, scientific societies, team sports games, and even volunteer activities. On Saturdays, sports matches, excursions are held in schools, lectures are given on various interesting topics.
Accommodation while studying
Boarding schools have a vast, fenced and carefully guarded territory, with their own educational buildings, dormitories, a medical center, sports fields, administrative buildings, and even a small church – many British schools are Catholic.
Dormitories are equipped with bedrooms, rooms for preparing lessons and self-study, recreation areas, bathrooms and dining rooms combined with kitchens. Three meals a day.
For the complete safety of the children, a health worker is constantly on the territory of the hostel, while the teacher lives in it with his family. Pupils live 3-4 people in a room, but high school students have privileges – they live in rooms one or two. Preparing for final exams requires a lot of focus and privacy.
A prerequisite for studying foreign students in the UK is the presence of a guardian – a citizen of this country. Being the legal representative of the student, the guardian performs parental duties in their absence, deals with issues and tasks, including financial ones, related to the purchase of necessary things or visiting a doctor. Weekends and vacations are spent by schoolchildren in the family of the official guardian.
The primary task of UniWestMedia consultants is to select the best option for an educational institution for secondary education in England, depending on the information received from you and your wishes. Consultants will tell you about all the specifics of studying at a particular school, help you find the most appropriate option for a guardian family, and, if necessary, provide any assistance to the student during his stay at the educational institution.

Preschool education abroad
Read this article:
- Kindergartens around the world
- Early childhood education in the UK
- Study abroad with Allterra Education
Kindergarten occupies a special place in the educational trajectory. Until the age of 6-7, preschoolers are actively developing, learning to interact with the environment, gaining the first knowledge and skills that will be useful at school. If a family changes their country of residence, pre-school education plays an important role in adaptation. In a foreign kindergarten, a child will be able to learn a foreign language, learn cultural norms and subsequently easily integrate into the educational system. In this article we will consider the features of preschool education in different countries.
Kindergartens in different countries
The task of parents is to choose a suitable kindergarten with modern teaching methods, where the child will feel comfortable and explore the world around him in a playful way. At the same time, it should be taken into account that in different countries kindergartens have their own highlights.
The lack of beds, unnecessary naps, walks in bad weather can all surprise foreign parents.
Sweden
You can send your baby to kindergarten from the age of 1, even if he still does not know how to go to the potty. Children often sleep in sleeping bags on travel mats or in special hammocks, and the dining room regularly serves food from India, Mexico or Thailand. Children always have enough freedom in choosing activities, but educators strictly monitor safety and adherence to basic rules.
Germany
Children are engaged in mixed groups and learn to interact not only with their peers. Everyone can choose what they want to eat for breakfast and serve themselves. The older ones help the younger ones and the new ones, this is encouraged by the educators. During the day, the child can choose an activity to his liking, most often the group spends time outdoors. It is not necessary to sleep during the day – you can go to another room, quietly play or draw.
China
Chinese children sleep in their clothes, since the windows are always open in the kindergarten. At the beginning of the week, the flag is raised and the anthem is sung. Many classes are held outside if there is no smog in the city. The pride of any kindergarten is a foreign teacher who can teach English.
USA
In private American kindergartens, children usually sleep with shoes on – for safety reasons, so that in case of a fire everyone has time to get out quickly. Children most often bring food with them in a lunch box, and for a snack they can be offered macaroni and cheese, pizza or nuggets.
Early childhood education in the UK
All British kindergartens work according to a single Early Years Foundation Stage system, the principles of which are based on many years of research. British Early Childhood Formula: Unique Child + Positive Interaction + Developmental Environment = Learning & Development
The creators of the system emphasize that for the development of the child, it is necessary to take into account his individual characteristics, create a positive experience of communication with teachers and a suitable environment in which everyone can be curious and explore the world safely.
The curriculum consists of six sections:
- Communication, language and literacy (writing, reading)
- Physical development (sports, health)
- Personal, social and emotional development (self-esteem, interaction, behavior, self-care, self-control, collectivism)
- Knowledge and understanding of the world (information technology, culture and religion, sense of time)
- Mathematical development
- Expressive art and design
British children start attending kindergarten at the age of 3-6 months, and at the age of 5 they go to primary school. When choosing a preschool, parents are guided by the Office for Standards in Education, Children’s Services and Skills rating, kindergartens with an Outstanding or Good rating are considered good.
Kindergarten attendance is quite expensive: about 1500 pounds per month. In public preschools for working parents, there is a profitable option: 15 free hours per month. You can also issue a voucher through your employer and pay less due to the fact that this amount will not be taxed.
If the kid does not speak English, he will not be left without help – experienced teachers will find another way to communicate. Nevertheless, it is recommended to teach the child basic words so that he can tell the caregiver that he wants to sleep, eat, go to the toilet, etc. In a new language environment, children adapt faster than adults, so after a few months they can understand English speech.
Parents who are ready to send their child to study abroad alone can use the boarding service at the selected school. However, many educational institutions accept children at least 7 years old, although a student visa can be obtained from the age of 4.
Study abroad with Allterra Education
Moving is a difficult process for both parents and kids. A good kindergarten with caring teachers will make the child’s adaptation more comfortable and help overcome the language barrier. Experienced specialists of Allterra Education will help you choose the right institution and organize acquaintance with its employees, prepare documents for obtaining a visa and admission.
