The system of American kindergartens is more like an educational center, unlike Russian ones, where a child spends most of his life until the age of five.
In our environment, one of these gardens is run by Oksana Yora. She dreamed of making a useful, cozy garden, which she did. Now Smart Baby Pre-school is waiting for new pupils and an assistant teacher. About how the Russian kindergarten in the States looks like – below.

I arrived early in the morning, which is much earlier than I arrive on the Friday morning broadcast. Oksana herself starts her working day at 7.30, because it is convenient for many parents to bring their children by this time. So, they arrive for another two hours, sometimes they are late for breakfast, but the pupils still get porridge, because the teacher knows that someone will ask for more supplements.
And the child cannot deny himself this pleasure. On my first visit, Oksana cooked oatmeal with raisins, which strengthens the heart muscle, and the second time with flax seeds. She always serves porridge for children for breakfast, which is so usual for Russian gardens.
In fact, she took the idea of good nutrition from there. Its big difference from other American centers is cereals, soups, fruits in the diet, and not snacks. According to her, the child spends ten hours in kindergarten, so the mother does not have to worry about his nutrition.
One mother says that she doesn’t worry about her child at all: “The food here is very healthy and delicious, not crackers, like in American gardens,” says Anya.
The refrigerator is 80% filled with Organic products, because according to Oksana, you can’t feed your child with the wrong products: they will affect health.
Standards for breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea are hung on the doors. So, milk, juice, bread, cereals are recommended for breakfast. Here, children receive porridge, a glass of milk, fruit slices, and each meal starts with a glass of water. As a snack, or as they used to call snacks in Russian, in the afternoon, milk, juice, meat, bread are recommended. Oksana, two hours after breakfast, offered pancakes to the hungry.
They were brought in the morning by one of the mothers of a kindergarten pupil – she just wanted to.
During lunch, according to the standards, children can be offered milk, meat, fish, cheese, eggs, vegetables, beans, bread. Oksana cooks soup, for example, pea soup with chicken broth and pieces of meat. Beef, on the other hand, was completely excluded from the diet, since it is hard to digest by the children’s stomach.
Inspector Checked
The rest of the doors have portion recommendations for each age and tips on how to keep food fresh and healthy. “Store unwashed food or raw food away from ready-to-eat food”, and compliance with such standards is checked twice a year by the controller and inspector. The first monitors the life of the garden, the program, safety, the second – the cleanliness, freshness and quality of products, cooking methods. Each time they give Oksana a license to work year after year. All documents confirming her right to organize a kindergarten are in front of the entrance.
Each parent can freely review and study the diet, the program of the day.
How to open a kindergarten
To open a kindergarten in the US, you need to go through a large bureaucratic chain. First, choose a format – a nanny, a kindergarten at home, a children’s center. In our case – a kindergarten at home. Anyone can become a nanny, but to open a garden, you need special preschool or primary education, that is, to obtain a diploma as an educator or primary school teacher.
Initially, the prospective owner must complete a course in kindergarten and child abuse ( approx. author – child abuse ), as well as to him, his family and potential employees – a criminal history. Next, you need to create an educational program. Oksana created her own, it includes the themes of the month, reading books, poems, learning songs, manuals for making crafts. In the kindergarten, children live according to a strict schedule – they observe the daily routine. Charging or classes follow each other.

Together with the children, she makes gifts for mothers – mugs with flowers, then teaches the days of the week, geometric shapes and rewards all children with praise. For classes, the guys go to a separate room, class, put chairs in rows. Now the youngest was offended and climbed into her arms. She repeats the days of the week with the children in parallel, calms the baby and instills in the children the rules of good manners.
Every day the group reads English or Russian books, according to the theme of the month, they teach an animal, such as an elephant, and always the learning activities are combined with a game. For some children, there is a noticeable difference, for example, one boy came a year ago and did not speak at all, now he says “va”, and Oksana understands that this is two. If the child finds it difficult to speak Russian, she switches to English: “Do you want more?”, Offers Nikita more porridge.
She says that every child is a personality, and he needs his own approach, you need to help him communicate with others, navigate in society, so she treats all children affectionately, even sorts out names to find the right one: “Maxim, Maksyush, Maksimka ”, – trying to draw the attention of the oldest.
Mornings are also held in the kindergarten: New Year, Autumn Festival, Spring Festival and final. All the work in the garden, including cooking, childcare, conducting lessons, organizing events, Oksana does with her assistant. They work half-days, but they are not enough for all duties, so Smart Baby Preschool is looking for another teacher for the afternoon.
Little to Older
Smart Baby Pre-school brings up children from two to five years old in one group. This is a special American approach, which became famous thanks to Maria Montessori. In accordance with it, children of different ages gather in one team and constantly interact. They learn from each other, understand that you need to respect the other.
The younger ones repeat after the older ones, and they feel responsible for their actions.
“Oksana and other kindergarten teachers not only manage to simply gather toddlers and older children in one group, but also pay attention to everyone. They are not afraid to read great works so that children get used to the flow of the language, talk to them like adults,” added Anya, one of the mothers of the pupils.

Portland Community College has two major campuses in the city, Cascade and Sylvania, as well as a smaller Southeast Center and the Capital Workforce Training Center.
The third major campus, Rock Creek, is located out of town in unincorporated Washington County.

[5] The church was not successful, and in 1979 Morrissey and her husband took the family and their ministry on the road, offering self-esteem workshops to churches across the country. [5] A year later on the road, Morrissey founded a church at Strange Fellows Hall in Beaverton, Oregon, after she felt she had received divine guidance to begin the ministry. [5] Church management consultant advised Morrissey and her husband to name the church after what they intended to do; because they sought to enrich people’s lives, they named themselves the Life Enrichment Center. [5] 
By 1997, the church was engaged in a campaign through Portland’s Sunday TV stations, advertisements, and relief programs to increase the local congregation by another 200 people. [7]

Audio cassettes were also available by mail-order subscription. [14] Although most talk of The Keys of Life were spoken by Morrissey, some were transcriptions of guest speakers such as Gandhi, Williamson and Dyer. 
In an email to Willamette week , Steve Unger, Morrissey’s attorney, wrote that the Morrisseys had done the mixing, and that “the finances of [LEC], New Thought Broadcasting, Mary Morrissey and Ed Morrissey were not treated in isolation, but as a sort of ‘financial a family “”. [16] By the summer of 2004, total LEC debt was reported to Willamette week and Oregon totaling over $20 million. During June, Mary Morrissey and Harry Morgan Moses hosted a series of talks called “Standing Strong While Your World Shakes” for “an offering of love” $15 per class or $100 per episode. [17] July 14, 2004 event “Calling for a Miracle: Good for Life, a Wealth Center with Special Guests” and proclaimed 2004-2005 “The Year of the Miracle.”
In addition, Edward Morrissey agreed to plead guilty to one federal count of money laundering. The plea agreement reached between Edward Morrissey and the US Attorney’s Office calls on the government to recommend a 36-month sentence, but this recommendation is not binding on the court.” [18] On April 17, Edward Morrissey pleaded guilty, admitting in federal court that he had defrauded LEC members of borrowing $10.7 million. The fact that Mary Morrissey was not charged despite also pressuring LEC members to make loans angered some plaintiffs. Mary Morrissey agreed to contribute a portion of her disposable income to reimburse former LEC members. [19] As amended August 28, 2006 Wilsonville spokesperson, editor Kurt Kipp wrote that she paid off $24,000 of LEC debt. [20]

[26] [27] Oregon writes that Mary Morrissey signed a consent agreement with government securities regulators, agreeing to pay $10.7 million to her former congregation, but she is in default, and that with speed , which Mary Morrissey pays, it will take her 300 years to fully pay off the community’s debt. [28] KATU writes that the debt may never be repaid. [29] A spokesman for Wilsonville reported that Mary Morrissey paid less than half a penny per dollar owed. [30]

Mitchell wrote, “When the smoke cleared, Morrissey, who had once been friends with the Dalai Lama and other world spiritual leaders, was divorced, homeless, and more than $10 million in debt.” [39]
