US Navy Base Pensacola has 16,000 troops
A Saudi Arabian cadet who killed three people on Friday at the US Naval Air Station in Pensacola, Florida, may have watched before shooting video of the mass shootings, a government official said, and he also quoted Osama bin Laden, according to the monitoring group.
The assailant was killed in a shootout with the police. The FBI is now studying his motives and does not exclude the version of the attack. This is the second case of shooting at military bases of the US Navy in the last week.
What is known about the incident and the shooter – and what could be the consequences?

How did the incident happen?
Police received the first reports of shooting at the military base early on Friday morning. According to Escambia County Sheriff David Morgan, around 7 a.m. on duty 9On 11, a serviceman called, saying that shots were heard in one of the educational buildings.
Two members of the police department arrived at the scene and exchanged fire with the attacker. As a result, the shooter was killed and both deputies were injured.
The American media named the attacker – Mohammed Said Alshamrani. Authorities said he was a Saudi Arabian soldier who was taking flight training at the base.
USA Today, citing a source in the military leadership, reports that he was armed with a pistol that was not on the balance sheet of the US military.
On Friday, the US authorities detained six citizens of Saudi Arabia. Three of them, according to the New York Times, filmed the shooting on camera.
How did the Saudi soldier get to the base?
The assailant was one of 852 Saudi Arabian soldiers who were trained under the US military allies program. I started studying in August 2017 and was supposed to finish in 2020. Studied English and learned to fly an airplane.
5180 cadets from 153 countries of the world participate in this program. Many of them, after training, will work with military equipment that foreign armies buy from the United States.

The FBI does not rule out a terrorist attack.
The SITE Intelligence Group, which monitors jihadist media around the world, reported that hours before the shooting, a statement appeared on Twitter calling America a “land of evil.” It could be Mohammed Said Alshamrani, the organization believes.
Reuters was unable to authenticate Alshamrani’s account and authorship of the posts. Twitter deactivated his account on Friday, according to the Washington Post.
“I’m not against you because you’re Americans. I don’t hate your freedoms. I hate you because you support, fund and commit crimes every day not only against Muslims, but against humanity” – quotes a SITE Intelligence Group post.
The author also mentioned the US wars in the Middle East, criticized Washington for supporting Israel and quoted the terrorist Osama bin Laden, follows from the SITE report.
The investigation is now establishing whether these words were actually written by the attacker, reports ABC.
In addition, it became known about the video of the mass executions, which was watched by the suspect. This week, he showed this video to other people, US media reported, citing an anonymous official with knowledge of the investigation.
Several Saudi cadets were detained for questioning. The authorities, however, do not claim that they were involved in the attack.
US Secretary of Defense Mark Esper said it is too early to call this incident a terrorist attack at this stage of the investigation.
Senator Rick Scott, former governor of Florida, said: “It was a terrorist attack, whether it was caused by radical Islam – or its perpetrator was mentally unstable.” Congressman Matt Gatz, a representative of the constituency in which the Pensacola base is located, also believes that this was a terrorist attack.

The authorities did not immediately name the dead, relatives spoke about them. One of the victims was 23-year-old US Naval Academy graduate Joshua Caleb Watson from Alabama. His family believes he died heroically.
“Joshua Caleb Watson saved countless lives at the cost of his own,” his brother Adam was quoted by USA Today as saying. “After being shot several times, he got out and told where the shooter was, and these details were priceless.”
Another fatality is 19-year-old pilot Mohammed Haytham from St. Petersburg, Florida, his grandmother Doretta Brady confirmed to USA Today. Her grandson enlisted in the US Navy in 2018 and was due to graduate from the flight school program on December 19, the Tampa Bay Times reported.
The US Navy later confirmed the names of the two dead and named a third victim – Joshua Caleb Watson, 23, Mohammed Sameh Haytham, 19, and Cameron Scott Walters, 21.
They “showed exceptional heroism and courage in the face of evil,” the statement said.
How did the US and Saudi authorities react?
US President Donald Trump said yesterday that King Salman of Saudi Arabia called the attack barbaric.
“King Salman of Saudi Arabia just called to offer his sincere condolences. He expresses his condolences to the families and friends of the military personnel who were killed or injured in this incident,” Trump tweeted.
“According to him, the people of Saudi Arabia are outraged by the barbaric act and he is by no means an example of the attitude of Saudi Arabia towards the American people,” the US president quoted the king.
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis said that the Saudi government, in his opinion, “is indebted to the victims, given that it was one of their people.”
Trump later announced that King Salman would take part in helping the families of the victims.
The Saudi Foreign Ministry, in a statement, called the attack “terrifying” and vowed to assist the investigation as much as possible.
What would be the consequences for the foreign military?
The Foreign Military Training Program has been operating in the US for many years. According to Trump, it’s time to reconsider its terms.
“I think we will review the entire procedure. We will start immediately,” he said.
Senator Scott also called for a review of the conditions for foreign military training programs on American soil. “Obviously, we should take steps to ensure that all foreigners are subjected to close scrutiny before being trained side by side with uniformed Americans,” he said.
Secretary of Defense Esper said that it should be checked whether foreign military personnel who come to study in America are sufficiently vetted.
Saudi officials not only condemn the act of their military, but also talk about the importance of the program.
Deputy Defense Minister Khalid bin Salman tweeted that he himself was trained at an American military base, and the experience gained was useful to the Saudi military in the fight against terrorism.
Immigration specialist Alex Nauraste draws attention to the fact that the shooter was most likely in the United States on an A-2 visa, which is usually issued to officials and civil servants of foreign countries – including the military. Recipients of the A-2 visa category do not undergo any additional checks.

Pensacola Revival – Movement of God
Pensacola, Florida. Since June 18, 1995, revival services have continued in the Brownsville neighborhood of Pensacola. Children see in visions of Jesus. Drug addicts, prostitutes and pimps, housewives, students and businessmen find a new life. The county’s crime rate dropped by 13%. Whether they are factory workers or big industrialists, unemployed young professionals or professors, everyone kneels next to each other, crying out for God’s mercy and condescension. Tens of thousands of people in Brownsville Assemblies of God church meetings are giving their lives to God for the first time or, like the prodigal son (Luke 15), turning to the Father.

“I’ve been here since 3:30 a.m., waiting for the next meeting at 7:00 p.m. – Says a young man named Skye and is bubbling like a gushing fountain, although in theory he should be exhausted, – Went to have a bite to eat after the revival yesterday, then came back to get in line.
Sleeping outdoors in January weather is not a hindrance for him. Before he takes up music seriously, he wants first to be anointed as an evangelist. His desire is to bring people to the Lord through praise, worship and preaching, through word and music. Several women spent the night in a car in the church parking lot, their chairs first in line. Skye was very kind, he looked after them. During the night and morning the number of visitors increased even more. Today Thursday, in addition to the “regular” revival service, there will be a youth meeting. Teenagers are also idle for long hours waiting. One girl came from Indiana after covering a distance of 1000 km. When I asked if she had holidays, she replied: “No. But I study at a Christian school, so they let me come here.” There is also a dynamic youth group of 50 from Toronto Airport Church. Their youth pastor, Kim Umrau, sees nothing wrong with just one taste of “another manna.”
“Don’t young people find the uncompromising preaching of evangelist Steve Hill too harsh?” I ask.

Water baptism takes place every Friday at the Brownsville Assembly of God Church. Alexia in tears … Before baptism, she wants to give a short testimony. For 16 years, she did not find meaning in her life, during which time she experienced the torments of drug addiction. When she got here a few months ago, she was haunted by the same question: “Do you know God? Have you accepted Jesus into your life?” Now, before the baptism, Alexia prays for her father. The crowd is cheering.
Shaking with excitement, the next girl says: “My father was married six times, my mother married twice. For eight years my stepfather abused me. I thought I would never forgive him. Then came the awakening…”

A middle-aged man says that he received burns from waist to toe. For four and a half years he suffered from pain. His wife showed a photo of him to evangelist Steve Hill and asked for prayer for him. Result: healing. Now he is being baptized in water…
Many of those who were baptized were addicted to alcohol, drugs and pornography in the past, but now they are Bible students in the newly formed “Brownsville Revival School of Ministers”.
After immersion baptism, often done with the help of pastors from other churches, the choir sings today: “Lord, have mercy on us, for all our hope is in You.” Before it was even time for evangelist Steve Hill to preach, let alone call to the altar (a call to repentance, consecration of life and sanctification), when all of a sudden people get up and walk, no, rather run to the “altar”. There they collapse. Many are crying with their faces on the floor.
Now the rest of the people present cannot be kept in place.
Engaged in intercession or intensified worship, they stand before God. His presence descends on the meeting. The Holy Spirit convicts of sins. Evangelist Steve Hill rants: “Some of you are scared to death. And I’ll tell you why. Perhaps for the first time in your life you feel something, some power, some power. It’s the fear of God coming upon you. He wants to lead you to the Savior Jesus Get on your knees and cry, “Jesus, have mercy on me.”

But water baptism did not end with weeping and sorrow, it ended with gratitude and joy. Similarly, on the following Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday after the call to repentance and sanctification of life, accompanied by prayer and a short interview, this blessing is available to everyone.
“All your promises are YES and AMEN” – sounds every time in the hall for 2300 seats and in other rooms where the service can be seen on the screen.
How it all began
When Pastor John Kilpatrick invited evangelist Steve Hill to preach in the morning and evening services on June 18, 1995, no one was prepared for what was to come. Hill spoke of Psalm 76, verse 12: “I will remember the works of the LORD; I will remember your wonders of old.” In this regard, he spoke about visiting the Anglican Church “Holy Trinity Brompton” in London. There, in 1995, he experienced “refreshment in the Holy Spirit” – and now he asked the church if anyone from those present was thirsty for refreshment. Suddenly, more than 1,000 hands went up. Hill was momentarily taken aback, unsure how to react. He then called to come forward to pray for the believers with the laying on of hands. “When I laid hands on the people, the Holy Spirit began to move among them. I looked at Pastor Kilpatrick and said, more, Lord! God’s fire seized John Kilpatrick and he fell to the floor.

It became obvious: God Himself touched people. They wanted to come back the next evening. There was no time to convene the church and presbyter councils in advance. At the request of the pastor, Steve Hill stayed the second day at the Brownsville Assembly of God church, then the third, fourth, fifth, and so on. Because of this, he even had to shift plans or completely abandon them. In addition, he promised: “As long as people keep coming, I will stay here.”
Four weeks after the outpouring of the Spirit 18 June 1995 years of visitors has not decreased, but increased. Pastor Kilpatrick addressed the Remnant magazine (mobile, Alabama): “Since the revival began, my phone has not stopped. I receive calls every day from people who have experienced Christ in our meetings.”
July 24, 1995 The Pensacola News Journal (Pensacola News) publishes the story of the Brownsville Revival in an editorial. Right on the front page, Linda Smith, youth worker at the local Methodist church, is quoted as saying, “A revival of this magnitude happens once or maybe twice a century.
Pensacola has never seen anything like it.” Linda Smith graduated from Asber College and has been studying revival movements for many years. Methodists, Baptists, Reformers, Anglicans, Catholics, and many others are taking part in the Pensacola revival meetings, and more than that, they are helping them.
Pastor Buford Lipscomb of the Free Church, who played an important role in starting the charismatic renewal movement, defines the outpouring of the Spirit in a nearby church as a sovereign act of God. Just before the actual revival, Pastor Kilpatrick preached about the “manifestations” that have been constantly observed in the meetings as accompanying signs since June 18, 1995. When the revival came, Pastor Lipscomb often had the opportunity to pray for the people with evangelist Steve Hill and Pastor Kilpatrick.
“Everything was so new and amazing. Nothing was agreed upon from the beginning. Later we used to meet with other pastors and discuss what was going on and how to work together in this matter,” Pastor Lipscomb comments to a magazine reporter ” Charisma”.
Revival was prepared in two ways: First, the Brownsville Assembly of God church for over two years prayed, wrestled, and called for revival every Sunday night. Second, several church members visited Toronto shortly before the revival began, including Pastor Kilpatrick’s wife and newly appointed “music pastor” Lindell Cooley.
Consequences and scope of revival ministries
“As I write this letter, we are approaching the tenth week of revival meetings at the Brownsville Assemblies of God church,” read Paula D. Patrick’s words in the Pensacola News Journal, 10 September. 1995 – “By this time, more than 4,500 people had responded to the call of the Holy Spirit for salvation,” she continues. “I have seen people freed from drugs, occult connections and homosexuality, marriages healed… Christians are refreshed by God’s kiss.”
Bob Bishop, director of the Globe International Missionary Union, headquartered in Pensacola, Florida, reported in the National and International Religious Gazette in September 1995 that about 116,000 people had entered the church since the beginning of the Pensacola revival.
“Brownsville Assembly of God”. 35,000 of them came for the first time and about 5,000 believed in Jesus Christ. In the first weeks and months, many seekers came from all over the area. On the highway – the main street of the city, near which the church is located, girls of easy virtue used to loom. Now some of them have repented and others have gone. In the surrounding schools, some teachers did not know what to do with teenagers who seemed to be captured by the power of God during class. Bible and prayer groups formed everywhere. Teachers and class teachers came with their most difficult students to revival meetings. The superintendent of the district education department wrote a newspaper article in which he noted the positive changes in the educational process due to the Awakening.
In May 1996, Messianic Jew Old Testament scholar Dr. Michael Brown came to Pensacola. Dr. Brown, who has written many articles on dedicated discipleship along with individual scientific publications, felt the very first evening, “This is the reality.
This is the real Awakening.” In an interview with Charisma magazine, he emphasized: “I personally for the first time in America came into contact not only with renewal, but with revival. I know this is what we have been praying for for many years.” So he began to connect to this movement, conducting seminars-teachings along with revival ministries. Every Friday and Saturday at noon, Dr. Brown teaches at the Brownsville Assemblies of God church.
Exactly one year before the start of the revival, one night God spoke to him about a Bible school. At the end of the summer and fall of 1996, the plans are being implemented: a Bible school is being set up for the born again who wish to devote their entire lives in the future to the service of the Kingdom of God. Since November 1996, the first applications for study have been received. In January 1997, the “Brownsville Revival Servant School” opens with 120 students. Among them there are even academicians (for example, a 40-year-old art professor), others have more than one higher education.
One of the oldest students is Robert Sparks, a former spaceflight engineer. The Awakening changed his wife especially dramatically. Now Robert and his wife are back in school. “Since 1972, having been born again, I have studied the Bible alone or in church. Here in the bible school, the connection of scripture quotations with the movement of the Holy Spirit in this Awakening is brought to life.”
The purpose of the two-year study is to:
- be established in Holy Scripture;
- become prepared for practical spiritual service;
- with the fire of awakening in their hearts go around the world!
(The ministry is especially active in countries overseas, including in cooperation with the aforementioned Globe Missionary Union, the center of which, like the Bible school, is located on the territory of the Free Church.) In the next academic year, from the fall of 1997, d Dr. Brown expects 500 students. New applications are coming in every day.
Approximately half of the students were “born out of revival.” Almost one third of them are former drug addicts.
When God moves, are there any questions?
Since God, despite His sovereign action, uses human instruments, manifestations of flesh, error, and imperfection cannot be completely excluded. If one of the opponents of the “laughter anointing” comes to Pensacola, then most likely he will be critical: “Isn’t laughter contagious? Isn’t the altar call itself suspicious? Isn’t this obvious pressure and intimidation? And why does everything have to be so noisy and emotional after all?”
Perhaps this is how some sociologists, anthropologists and psychologists think. Evangelist Hill himself admits that uncompromising sermons are unaccustomed to the southern United States – what critics here call “fundamentalism” or “black and white tones.”
For seeking souls, there is only one message: “If you continue as you have lived until now, you will end up in hell! But God loves you so much that He gave His Son for you, who died for your sins.
By the blood of Jesus you can be cleansed from all sins. Turn away from your sins, hasten to the throne of God’s mercy, ask Jesus to forgive you, set you free and come into your life! Then everything will be new.”
Jesus reshapes our families
My last day in Pensacola. I want to do some research around the Brownsville Assembly of God church. Approximately 200-300 meters from the church building, I find the Hotel Liquidation store (Liquidated Hotel), which sells the property of bankrupt hotels. On the garage door – a huge inscription: “Jesus loves you and wants to save you …” I start a conversation with the owner Larry Smith. “My whole family has been especially blessed with revival meetings,” he admits. “Visitors from all over the world come into our store and tell their testimonies,” the store owner continues, and I feel like I have to go to their house to get to know each other. with his wife and youngest son.
Roger willingly tells me the story of his life: “For 14 years in a row I shot.

I recently broke up with my girlfriend. Suddenly something came over me: I burst into tears, softened, I could not go further. I knew: this is the only answer: it is the Lord! There, by the side of the road, I dedicated my life to Jesus Christ.” “And he immediately threw away all his drugs,” his mother adds.
“Did you have any withdrawal symptoms?” I ask. not a single one.” “Ever since then, it has been burning for Jesus,” the mother adds.0005
For three months, Roger attended every revival meeting, often coming home around 3:00 – 5:00 am. In the first three months, people usually left services only at dawn and went straight to work.
Each time Roger stepped forward when Steve Hill and Pastor Kilpatrick prayed. In addition, he, including his parents, became a member of the Brownsville Assembly of God church and visits every Thursday with a group from the prison church at the nearby prison.
From Brownsville Revival to Pensacola Revival
Yet the vast majority of the population is not yet embraced by the Awakening. Some churches in and around Pensacola have not yet seen any growth from revival ministries. Others have even lost members who are more willing to go to the Brownsville Assembly of God church. So far, only a few churches have been entrusted with the addresses of people to engage in individual work.
