AMERICA’S MOST ACCREDITED

We’re so proud!

Nationally only 10% of daycares are accredited – nearly 100% of our learning centers are. That’s a big difference,
and that means KinderCare kids are getting the very best. Here’s why.

SCHOOL-READY

What Learning Looks Like

Our talented early-childhood teachers set kids down the path toward becoming lifelong learners in a positive, safe, and nurturing environment.

Papillion KinderCare Programs

Infant Programs (6 weeks–1 year)

Leaving your baby in someone else’s care is a big step. Everyone at our
centers—most importantly, our naturally gifted infant teachers—will work with
you to make sure the transition goes smoothly. When you step into our infant
classroom, you’ll see how much we want your infant to feel safe, loved, and
ready to explore their world.

Toddler Programs (1–2 Years)

Everything in our toddler classroom is designed for little explorers. That’s
because a lot is going on at this age. When your child is wandering all over the
place, that means they’re learning and discovering new things every day. We’ll
help them explore their interests (and find new ones!) as they play and learn.

Discovery Preschool Programs (2–3 Years)

This age is filled with so much wonder and curiosity. That’s why we offer a ton
of books and toys and bring artwork down to kids eye level. Children in
discovery preschool also begin to learn how we all work together in a
classroom. Simple math and science, pretend play, and group play help them
get used to a more structured school setting.

Preschool Programs (3–4 Years)

This age is all about expression, when kids really start to form their own ideas
about what they want to play and how they want to create. Every day in our
preschool classroom, your child will explore science experiments, create
artwork, and play pretend—all the skills needed for their big next step:
kindergarten!

Prekindergarten Programs (4–5 Years)

When you walk into one of our pre-K classrooms, you’ll see artwork and
writing displayed around the room. Labels are everywhere to help kids connect
letters with words. You’ll also see pictures on the walls that reflect the families
in our community. Your child will also deepen their knowledge in language,
math, science, Spanish, and social skills.

Before- and After-School Programs (5–12 Years)

You can count on us to provide reliable care for your school-ager while you’re
at work, with safe transportation from our center to your child’s school and
back! Whether your child wants to start a drama club, build a volcano, or
create a comic book, they will have a place to follow their dreams. Your child
will start and end the day with a whole lot of fun!

School Break Programs (preschool, prekindergarten, and school-age)

Winter break, spring break, summer break—when school’s out (but you still need to work), you
can count on KinderCare to provide a safe and supportive learning environment that’s focused
on fun. We welcome children ages 5–12 during school break times and make sure they have a
sensational, screen-free experience they won’t forget.

A KINDERCARE TEACHER WITH

An Artist’s Heart

We put our best-in-class teachers in a best-in-class workplace. We’re so proud to have been named one of Gallup’s 37 winners of the Great Workplace Award.

Origin

Spaniels depicted in many Renaissance paintings are very similar to the Papillon breed. It is believed that this breed was bred in France or Belgium. Papillons were companions of royalty and nobility in Europe. It is said that Marie Antoinette was allowed to take one dog with her when the queen went to the guillotine. The breed got its name, which translates as “butterfly”, due to the large ears that resemble a butterfly with outstretched wings. If a dog has drooping ears, it is called phalene (which translates as “moth”). nine0003

Personality

The Papillon is an alert, friendly, energetic little dog. She becomes a worthy loving companion. The dog loves to take part in family life and spend time on a person’s lap!

Behavior

Although the smallest of all breeds, these dogs are active and playful companions. Their favorite pastime is spending time at home with their owners. Often they are very attached to their owners and enjoy the comfort of home. They can make good little guard dogs. However, they also need regular physical activity outside the home to keep fit, healthy and toned. Many of them are highly trainable and generally love to play. nine0003

Health (Problems)

Like many small breeds, Papillons are known to have problems with kneecaps that can temporarily slip out of place (patella luxation). As with many breeds, hereditary eye diseases can also occur, and therefore it is recommended to check the condition of the dog’s eyes.

Exercise

A Papillon needs about half an hour of exercise a day, although the dog is capable of more if you can provide it. For her size, she is surprisingly energetic and competes well in speed competitions. nine0003

Nutrition

Toy dogs have a fast metabolism. This means that they burn energy at a high rate. Since the volume of their stomach is very small, they must eat small portions, but often. Small breed foods are specially formulated to meet your dog’s special needs for essential nutrients. At the same time, the products are crushed taking into account the small size of the dog’s jaw, which, in turn, facilitates the process of chewing and improves digestion. nine0003

Grooming

Abundant long silky coat should be handled two or three times a week to prevent matting.

Best breeds for children

Dogs are generally considered to be good with children. However, dogs and children must learn to get along with each other, respect each other and feel safe being together. In any case, young children should not be left alone with the dog – adults must control all interactions between them. nine0003

What else should be kept in mind?

Would you like to adopt a puppy?

Shelter dogs are often your best friends because they get a second chance. Countless dogs are waiting for their loving family and cozy home. In good shelters, they always try to make the person and animal fit together. Shelter staff usually know their “guests” well, but this is not the only thing they have to consider when selecting. You will be asked to describe yourself, your family and your home environment. In addition, at any time before and after you adopt an animal from a shelter, you can contact the staff for advice and get answers to your questions. nine0003

Search for a breeder

If you like purebred dogs, try to find a reliable breeder. We also recommend visiting dog shows where you can meet professional breeders and learn more about the desired breed.

First days in a new home

In anticipation of the arrival of a new occupant in your home, digress to take into account a number of important details. Thus, you can make your home as comfortable as possible for the animal. nine0003

Papillon – Continental Toy Spaniel: description, features and character of the breed

Cheerful and sociable representative of the Continental Spaniel breed loves to sit on the owner’s lap as much as to run around the house. Despite the liveliness and energy of these dogs, they are not considered nervous or irritable and are easy to care for.

Prevalence:

wide.

The Papillon is small and graceful, with large triangular ears that rise above its head like the wings of a butterfly.

The coat is long and silky, the tail is decorated with flowing hair forming a plume. Unlike many long-haired breeds, Papillons do not have an undercoat and they do not shed twice a year, and the coat does not tangle. The coat is usually white with black, red, orange-brown or sable markings.

Average height at the withers in dogs of both sexes is 20 to 30 cm and weight is 1 to 5 kg. nine0003

Continental Toy Spaniel: character

Friendly Papillons like to sit on the owner’s hand as much as they love to run around the house. Despite their cheerfulness and energy, the representatives of this breed are not considered nervous or shy and are not prone to excessive barking.

Papillons love to socialize with cats and other dogs. They are happy to play with larger animals, but care must be taken that the latter do not perceive it as prey. Continental Toy Spaniels like to play with children, but you also need to be careful that the baby does not damage this nimble little dog. nine0003

Liveliness, intelligence and a strong desire to please the owner made these dogs favorites in obedience competitions. They also have notable talents in prey tracking, agility, and as therapy dogs.

Papillon: maintenance and care

The Continental Toy Spaniel, or Papillon, does not require serious care. These dogs require relatively little exercise, although they enjoy running around the house. Due to their small size, they require much less food than larger dogs. They don’t smell like other dogs and can adapt both to a city apartment and to life outside the city. These little ones travel well, and since their cages or carriers usually fit under the seat of an airplane, they can travel with their owner on a plane without the risk of ending up in the cargo hold. nine0003

As with other small dogs, Continental Toy Spaniels often remain very active well into their older years.

Papillon: the history of the breed

The Continental Toy Spaniel is a descendant of the European Toy Spaniel. These dogs are found on canvases depicting the royal courts of Europe dating from the beginning of the 16th century. The most famous of the court painters, Titian (Tiziano Vecellio), depicted several tiny spaniels in his paintings around 1500. nine0003

Papillon means butterfly. During the Renaissance and later, most toy spaniels had drooping ears. The pricked, butterfly-like ears that give the papillon its distinctive look, not to mention its name, did not come into fashion until the end of the 19th century.

Although the Continental Toy Spaniel and its ancestors were favorites of European royalty, today its charms remain something of a mystery. However, the situation is already changing: in 1999, a continental toy spaniel named Supernatural Creature Ch. Lotaki (Kirby) received the main prize of the prestigious exhibition of the Westminster Kennel Club.
