Meet Alicia Honick, Our Center Director

Meet Alicia Honick! She is the Center Director at Neenah KinderCare in Wisconsin. Alicia has earned her Child Development Associate credential and is currently completing her Child Care Administrator’s credential. She has been with KinderCare since 2006, and before that she was a teacher and an assistant director. Outside of work, Alicia enjoys spending time with her family. Together they love going up north and exploring the great outdoors. “If a child cannot learn the way we teach, we must teach in a way the child can learn.”

Infant Programs (6 weeks–1 year)

Leaving your baby in someone else’s care is a big step. Everyone at our
centers—most importantly, our naturally gifted infant teachers—will work with
you to make sure the transition goes smoothly. When you step into our infant
classroom, you’ll see how much we want your infant to feel safe, loved, and
ready to explore their world.

Toddler Programs (1–2 Years)

Everything in our toddler classroom is designed for little explorers. That’s
because a lot is going on at this age. When your child is wandering all over the
place, that means they’re learning and discovering new things every day. We’ll
help them explore their interests (and find new ones!) as they play and learn.

Discovery Preschool Programs (2–3 Years)

This age is filled with so much wonder and curiosity. That’s why we offer a ton
of books and toys and bring artwork down to kids eye level. Children in
discovery preschool also begin to learn how we all work together in a
classroom. Simple math and science, pretend play, and group play help them
get used to a more structured school setting.

Preschool Programs (3–4 Years)

This age is all about expression, when kids really start to form their own ideas
about what they want to play and how they want to create. Every day in our
preschool classroom, your child will explore science experiments, create
artwork, and play pretend—all the skills needed for their big next step:
kindergarten!

Prekindergarten Programs (4–5 Years)

When you walk into one of our pre-K classrooms, you’ll see artwork and
writing displayed around the room. Labels are everywhere to help kids connect
letters with words. You’ll also see pictures on the walls that reflect the families
in our community. Your child will also deepen their knowledge in language,
math, science, Spanish, and social skills.

Before- and After-School Programs (5–12 Years)

You can count on us to provide reliable care for your school-ager while you’re
at work, with safe transportation from our center to your child’s school and
back! Whether your child wants to start a drama club, build a volcano, or
create a comic book, they will have a place to follow their dreams. Your child
will start and end the day with a whole lot of fun!

School Break Programs (preschool, prekindergarten, and school-age)

Winter break, spring break, summer break—when school’s out (but you still need to work), you
can count on KinderCare to provide a safe and supportive learning environment that’s focused
on fun. We welcome children ages 5–12 during school break times and make sure they have a
sensational, screen-free experience they won’t forget.

Participating Child Care Aware Center

KinderCare partners with Child Care Aware® of America to offer fee assistance for
Active Duty military families and flexible support to fit their needs when care at a Child
Development Center on the installation is not available.

Learning Adventures – Enrichment Program

Cooking Academy™ (3 – 12 Years)

In Cooking Academy, kids learn new recipes from cultures around the world and
develop a healthy relationship with food. They’ll whip up everything from Southwest
rainbow lettuce wraps to pumpkin muffins, building their skills in STEM, communication,
and more along the way. And yes—little chefs get to eat their culinary creations!

Music Explorers™ (2 – 4 Years)

KinderCare families are already giving a standing ovation to our newest Learning
Adventures program: Music Explorers! Kids will learn to sing, move, listen, play
instruments, and even create their own tunes. Our original curriculum blends math,
science, social studies, literacy, and mindfulness (think yoga!) for a uniquely KinderCare
way of learning the foundations of music.

Phonics Adventures® (2 – 4 Years)

Learning how to read is a whole lot of fun at KinderCare! We help kids grow to love
books and words (and get ready for kindergarten) in our Phonics Adventures program.
From discovering the basics of vowels to practicing poetry, kids learn all about letters
and sounds in small-group lessons made just for their age group. (Bonus: Kids who
attend our phonics program are more prepared than their peers for school—and we
have the data to prove it.)

STEM Innovators (3-8 Years)

You’ve probably heard a lot about how important STEM education is for your child, but
what does that really mean? Our STEM Innovators program takes kids’ natural ability to
make sense of the world and applies it to robotics, chemistry, coding, geology, and
more. While your child experiments, they’ll discover how to use technology to do
amazing things!

Do you support alternative diets?

We strive to be as inclusive as possible. To that point, we provide a vegetarian option at mealtime, take care to not serve common allergens and can adapt menus based on your child’s food sensitivities. If your child has additional needs, we’ll work with you to figure out a plan.

Are meals included in tuition? Can I choose to send my child with lunch?

We provide nutritious meals and snacks developed by a registered dietician to meet the needs of rapidly growing bodies and minds. If your child has special dietary requirements and you would prefer to bring in their lunch, please make arrangements with the center director.

Does my child need to be potty-trained?

Every child begins toilet learning at a different age. Until your child shows an interest in toilet learning, we’ll provide diaper changes on an as-needed basis. When your child shows an interest, we’ll discuss how to work together to encourage toilet learning.

Autumn matinee! On this gloomy rainy day, our guys filled the whole garden with special bright colors, smiles and warmth! In dances, poems and songs, we all praised the beautiful Autumn together, talked about her gifts, beauties and why autumn (albeit sometimes rainy) is so necessary for everyone! Congratulations to everyone who has received or will soon receive the honorary title of “Dad”! Being a father is an extremely responsible mission. The first day of autumn and the first assembly

In the morning we were met by bright and cheerful characters of fairy tales and saw off the children on the first day of school! A new academic year has begun, which means that we are returning to the tradition of our regular events – assemblies. At the assemblies, the guys talk about what they learned and learned in the classes on the topic of the week, prepare numbers and games together with the teachers for the children of the whole garden. And the first assembly of this academic year on Knowledge Day is dedicated to the groups themselves. The guys presented their groups and their names, showed their distinctive signs and “chips”. And, of course, we had a lot of fun!

Bright, fun and in English! This is how art classes work at @sunschool.kazan! Colors, shapes, materials and actions with them – all this is best fixed in practice. Summer program

Every week at Sun School Kazan Premium is a whole story! So this week the guys had a whole odyssey, because they went to conquer space! Yes, it was just a space week! The children got acquainted with the concept of the solar system, learned about the planets and some constellations. And also made a lot of interesting crafts on the topic of the week!

Birthday of Sun School Kazan Premium

We are 5 years old! This is 5 whole years with you and your families, our dear parents! Someone has been with us since the very first day and this year has already become a graduate, and someone comes to us with their second and third child. For us, this is a very important indicator that we are chosen not by chance, but by heart and soul! The atmosphere of home comfort reigns within the walls of the garden and at holidays, and at classes, and on walks … Therefore, we can safely call us all “the Sun School family” and this is our very first anniversary, even an anniversary!

Outdoor picnic

Summer is the time for hiking, walking and just spending time in nature. Everything is green around, pleasant coolness in the shade of trees, and what a scope for outdoor games! Therefore, having collected everything necessary for a picnic, our guys set off on a mini-hike. We walked together to the clearing, sunbathed there under the sun, ran, jumped and worked up a very good appetite before dinner and a sound sleep at a quiet hour. Take an example from our guys!

June 10

Trip to ECOHOUSE

Mushroom Kingdom. This is not a fairy tale or cartoon footage. It turned out that mushrooms do have their own kingdom. And there is even a mushroom king: His Majesty the White Mushroom. And what a variety of types of mushrooms! Not every adult will remember everything at once. And our guys learned about each species and looked at some of them through microscopes! And we also managed to walk through the forest with an ornithologist, lure a titmouse with a twitter and see a couple of new unfamiliar birds. We made decoupage eco magnets as a keepsake and returned to our beloved Sun School with a carriage of impressions.

Summer program

Summer is definitely the most fun time! But we all know how difficult it is to return to a work schedule after a long break. The same is true for preschool education. But how, then, to give a child a rest and at the same time not “start” the knowledge gained over the year? We know the answer! The summer program developed by us immerses children in an exciting journey, gives new discoveries and emotions, and also keeps in good shape (and sometimes improves) the knowledge and skills of preschoolers! Ancient people, the secrets of dinosaurs, the structure of the planet, the properties of substances and much more have already been learned and will be learned by our guys! Children’s Day at Sun School was celebrated with a wonderful concert! The children met the long-awaited summer with the brightest performances: songs, dances, riddles and games. Sun School Wonderland has a big holiday today! Congratulations on the graduation of our graduates! Congratulations to the members of the vocal ensemble “Sunshine”!
The girls successfully performed at the International Competition – Festival of Children’s and Youth Creativity “Victoria” in the nomination: pop vocal, ensemble, “first steps”.
Our team was awarded a cup with a diploma of the 1st degree!
Bright and energetic little vocalists set the stage on fire and showed not only vocal abilities, but also artistic skills!

Happy Easter

The theme of the week is Easter. For many, this holiday is associated with spring and the transition to even warmer and sunny weather.

And indeed! This week has been so sunny and warm! The guys made a lot of Easter crafts: egg baskets, lollipop eggs, an origami Easter bunny…
And what interesting tasks the teachers came up with: riddles and coloring books, crossword puzzles in English and a quest in search of chocolate eggs!

And we also talked about changes in nature at this time: buds on plants bloom, birds sing loudly and make nests, animals and insects, waking up from hibernation, begin to look for a mate and equip a home.

At Sun School Kazan we not only celebrate every holiday, but also learn a lot of new and interesting things!

April 12

COSMONAUTIUS DAY

This week was devoted to the theme of space! The children learned about the structure of the solar system, the names of the planets and constellations, played rocket launch and made aliens.
And today the 7th group has prepared an assembly in honor of Cosmonautics Day!
The guys told about the planets – our neighbors, clearly showed how our planet Earth revolves around the Sun and the months change, and the teachers held a quiz, and all together flew to the Moon with a funny incendiary dance!

ABC concept

A unique development concept helps develop a bright and confident personality. We have combined health care, the formation of intelligence and communication skills of children into a harmonious system – ABC.

All our gardens are equipped with video surveillance systems. You can see what your child is doing at any time through the smartphone application, which is especially important during the adaptation period.

Best educators

Mandatory requirements for candidates: higher pedagogical education, work experience, ability to find an approach to the child. All educators undergo regular training at the Sun School corporate university.

English

Our gardens are bilingual, which means that afternoon games and educational activities are held in English only.

Safety

A safe environment is the basis of the children’s space: special furniture without sharp corners made of environmentally friendly materials, certified toys, hypoallergenic detergents. Particular attention is paid to preventive measures: the premises are regularly ventilated, the air is disinfected using a recirculator, quartzization is carried out in accordance with SanPiN.

Healthy food

Balanced meals five times a day: two breakfasts, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner. The individual characteristics of the child are taken into account: allergies, food intolerances. The menu has been developed taking into account the current SanPiN and collections of recipes recommended for feeding children in kindergartens.

Children’s insurance

Kindergartens have an accident insurance system for children. Insurance coverage is valid not only in the garden, but also anywhere in the world, 24 hours a day.
