AMERICA’S MOST ACCREDITED
We’re so proud!
Nationally only 10% of daycares are accredited – nearly 100% of our learning centers are. That’s a big difference,
and that means KinderCare kids are getting the very best. Here’s why.
SCHOOL-READY
What Learning Looks Like
Our talented early-childhood teachers set kids down the path toward becoming lifelong learners in a positive, safe, and nurturing environment.
Greenfield KinderCare Programs
Infant Programs (6 weeks–1 year)
Leaving your baby in someone else’s care is a big step. Everyone at our
centers—most importantly, our naturally gifted infant teachers—will work with
you to make sure the transition goes smoothly. When you step into our infant
classroom, you’ll see how much we want your infant to feel safe, loved, and
ready to explore their world.
Toddler Programs (1–2 Years)
Everything in our toddler classroom is designed for little explorers. That’s
because a lot is going on at this age. When your child is wandering all over the
place, that means they’re learning and discovering new things every day. We’ll
help them explore their interests (and find new ones!) as they play and learn.
Discovery Preschool Programs (2–3 Years)
This age is filled with so much wonder and curiosity. That’s why we offer a ton
of books and toys and bring artwork down to kids eye level. Children in
discovery preschool also begin to learn how we all work together in a
classroom. Simple math and science, pretend play, and group play help them
get used to a more structured school setting.
Preschool Programs (3–4 Years)
This age is all about expression, when kids really start to form their own ideas
about what they want to play and how they want to create. Every day in our
preschool classroom, your child will explore science experiments, create
artwork, and play pretend—all the skills needed for their big next step:
kindergarten!
Prekindergarten Programs (4–5 Years)
When you walk into one of our pre-K classrooms, you’ll see artwork and
writing displayed around the room. Labels are everywhere to help kids connect
letters with words. You’ll also see pictures on the walls that reflect the families
in our community. Your child will also deepen their knowledge in language,
math, science, Spanish, and social skills.
Before- and After-School Programs (5–12 Years)
You can count on us to provide reliable care for your school-ager while you’re
at work, with safe transportation from our center to your child’s school and
back! Whether your child wants to start a drama club, build a volcano, or
create a comic book, they will have a place to follow their dreams. Your child
will start and end the day with a whole lot of fun!
School Break Programs (preschool, prekindergarten, and school-age)
Winter break, spring break, summer break—when school’s out (but you still need to work), you
can count on KinderCare to provide a safe and supportive learning environment that’s focused
on fun. We welcome children ages 5–12 during school break times and make sure they have a
sensational, screen-free experience they won’t forget.
Participating Child Care Aware Center
KinderCare partners with Child Care Aware® of America to offer fee assistance for
Active Duty military families and flexible support to fit their needs when care at a Child
Development Center on the installation is not available.
Learning Adventures – Enrichment Program
Cooking Academy™ (3 – 12 Years)
In Cooking Academy, kids learn new recipes from cultures around the world and
develop a healthy relationship with food. They’ll whip up everything from Southwest
rainbow lettuce wraps to pumpkin muffins, building their skills in STEM, communication,
and more along the way. And yes—little chefs get to eat their culinary creations!
Music Explorers™ (2 – 4 Years)
KinderCare families are already giving a standing ovation to our newest Learning
Adventures program: Music Explorers! Kids will learn to sing, move, listen, play
instruments, and even create their own tunes. Our original curriculum blends math,
science, social studies, literacy, and mindfulness (think yoga!) for a uniquely KinderCare
way of learning the foundations of music.
Phonics Adventures® (2 – 4 Years)
Learning how to read is a whole lot of fun at KinderCare! We help kids grow to love
books and words (and get ready for kindergarten) in our Phonics Adventures program.
From discovering the basics of vowels to practicing poetry, kids learn all about letters
and sounds in small-group lessons made just for their age group. (Bonus: Kids who
attend our phonics program are more prepared than their peers for school—and we
have the data to prove it.)
STEM Innovators (3-8 Years)
You’ve probably heard a lot about how important STEM education is for your child, but
what does that really mean? Our STEM Innovators program takes kids’ natural ability to
make sense of the world and applies it to robotics, chemistry, coding, geology, and
more. While your child experiments, they’ll discover how to use technology to do
amazing things!
Our Teachers
We’re the only company in early childhood education to select teachers based on natural talent. Being a great educator isn’t enough though.
KinderCare teachers are also amazing listeners, nurturers, boo-boo fixers, and smile-makers. Put more simply,
we love our teachers and your child will, too.
Meet just a few of our amazing KinderCare teachers!
A KINDERCARE TEACHER WITH
An Artist’s Heart
“My classroom is full of art!” says Mary Annthipie-Bane, an award-winning early childhood educator at KinderCare. Art and creative expression, she says, help children discover who they really are.
We put our best-in-class teachers in a best-in-class workplace. We’re so proud to have been named one of Gallup’s 37 winners of the Great Workplace Award.
When you put great teachers in an engaging center, your children will experience
an amazing place to learn and grow.
Family Stories
Don’t take our word for it. Hear what our families have to say about our amazing center!
-
My son started off at a center I worked at and when they told me when I could and couldn’t bring him, I was crushed! We toured this location and fell in love. The staff is so nice and so friendly, and made everything easy–from drop-offs to lesson plans–so I knew my son would be safe and learning. My son has been at this location since he was eight months old and still loves it!

In search for a daycare for my 12-week-old daughter, a good reputation, a stimulating curriculum, qualified caring staff, and a clean and safe facility were on the top of my list. KinderCare in Greenfield not only has a good reputation and a fun curriculum (even for little babies), but also their staff genuinely seemed to care about and enjoy spending time with my baby. When I bring my baby to the center, she smiles when she sees her teachers rather than crying. And when I pick her up at the end of the day, she appears engaged rather than being dejected or in her own little world. It is natural to have concerns and questions when starting a new care experience, and when I have had a concern or feedback to share, the teachers and staff have been attentive and responsive in following up with me. The staff and Infant Teachers have done a wonderful job in making me feel comfortable leaving my precious bundle of joy with them every day.

My sons had been stay-at-home kids their entire life when some changes caused me to need child care for them. My older son is school age, so I wasn’t too worried about him, but my little guy has never been in a structured environment. I toured the center and knew right away that it would be the best choice I could make for them. The teachers were all so sweet and loving, everything was well-organized, the center was very clean, and I could tell they had the perfect balance between structure and fun. When my sons started, it was just as I had feared–my youngest son wasn’t keen on me leaving and would cry so hard. The center teachers worked hand in hand with me to help him get over the transition, and even though I hated leaving him upset, I knew that they would take great care of him when I could not. The teachers were so overly helpful and great at communication with me so that we could change our approach to get them acclimated quickly. What started out as me leaving them in tears has now turned into happy drop-offs with excitement to see their teachers and friends, and pick-ups where they say, “Oh, Mom. ..is it time to go already?” What a fantastic feeling that is! The center teachers love my children–I can see and feel it and so can my sons. That is a huge weight off of my “mommy heart.” More than that–my sons are thriving! My younger son is so interested in learning and so much more structured than he was when I first brought him in. I see him becoming more independent and communicating better, and I know this is all due to the hard work of his teachers. My older son is more confident at making friends, learning so many fun new games, and is absolutely a happier kid. I cannot say enough for the teachers at this center. They are part of our family now, and I couldn’t imagine being at peace with leaving my kids anywhere else!
Katie V. – KinderCare Parent

Ms. Sara and Ms. Tiffany, a sincere thank you for being the excellent educators that you are! My son attended a program through Greenfield School District called Bee Ready and scored in the 90th percentile. I know this would not have been possible without his education at KinderCare and the hard work and dedication of teachers. He is definitely prepared to start school in the fall. We would love to thank you for all the hard work, support, and encouragement that you have given our son during his time with you in Pre-K. We can’t thank you enough for making his time in your classroom so happy.

I would like to share how comfortable and at peace I am knowing that my grandkids are at this daycare. I am especially at peace when Lori is there for my grandson. She has the ability to calm him down when he is stressed. It is not easy because this behavior can go on for hours and even days, and yet, she has the patience with him–it is endearing both to myself and him to have someone in our corner, not judging us but helping us, with a smile, patience, understanding, and yes, love. My grandson has told me that he loves Lori. So a big shout out to Lori! Thank you and the rest of your staff for all you do for us.

I would like to share with you my experience performing a summer enrichment program at your center recently. My audience was a group of about 25 children ages four to seven. The children were well-behaved, organized, and respectful. This does not happen by itself. It reflects on the quality and competency of the staff. The teachers wear many “hats” during the course of their day. A great child care teacher is a friend, role model, confidant, disciplinarian, and more. I rate the staff as exceptional.

School bus KAVZ-39767
A. Erokhin, M. Ralliev, photos by the authors
Specialized buses for children have never been produced in the Soviet Union. When it was necessary to take the kids to a pioneer camp for a summer vacation, they turned to bus depots. Standard cars were removed from city lines and columns, accompanied by traffic police patrol cars, the younger generation was taken out of the city, into nature with fresh air. In fact, city buses for transporting children were no good at all. It was stuffy in them, and the Pioneers and educators were not allowed to open the windows in order to avoid any trouble with the children entrusted to them. There is no need to talk about security at all …
In post-Soviet times, in 2001, the presidential program “Children of Russia” was adopted. And off we go! Each Russian “bus manufacturer” offered its own version of a car for children at automobile exhibitions. Many designs, over time, somehow “disappeared” by themselves. True, “baby buses” of Likinsky production still “run” around Moscow, transporting children, but they are also used on city routes. But there is a specialized bus in Russia designed exclusively for transporting children – this is KAVZ-39767.
We managed to get acquainted with him at the NICIAMT auto training ground.
Transport for VIPs
As you know, Kurgan buses are assembled on various chassis supplied from GAZ. Machines manufactured in Kurgan belong to category M3 of class B (R52) and can only have seats, the number of which should not exceed 22.
There is nothing on the backs of the seats except for the handrails |
This model of a specialized bus is assembled on an extended chassis GAZ – 3309 and the body, of course, has a bonnet layout. It is equipped with three doors, and one of them – the rear one, located in the end part of the back of the bus, is emergency. So require safety rules for vehicles transporting people, especially children. The driver’s door is located in the front of the cabin, as well as the passenger. A partition is not installed between the driver’s workplace and the passenger compartment on this bus model.
Older people who used the services of Kurgan cars of the past remember how the passenger door opened. This was done by the driver using a lever mechanism. So this archaic mechanism has not changed a bit over the decades.
Unlike other Kurgan cars that have one left and one right exterior mirror, ours has an additional exterior mirror to view the passenger footboard. By the way, for the convenience of passenger entry, the body is equipped with a retractable footboard with a pneumatic drive, which automatically extends when the door is opened.
Pedals: clutch and fuel supply – outboard, brake – floor |
The use of an elongated chassis made it possible to freely accommodate 22 seats, and in the rear of the cabin to arrange space for two prams and 18 briefcases or backpacks. Why only 18? The matter is that from 22 seats four are intended for adults. All luggage is located on special racks and is additionally secured with rubber straps. Strollers can also be rigidly fixed.
Each row of seats is equipped with a driver signal button. The passenger seats are separate, with retractable armrests, but without backrest tilt adjustment. All of them are equipped with seat belts.
In addition to the rear emergency door, there are several more emergency exits: two emergency windows on each side of the passenger compartment and a sunroof.
There is one heater in the passenger compartment, and the second “stove” heats the driver. In this regard, a question arises for the specialists of the Kurgan plant: “Guys, did you yourself go in the cabin, in the place of the children, when it was at least 15 ° C outside?” We ourselves made sure that in such conditions the normal temperature in the car was established only by the middle of the day – and the steam from the mouth stopped coming out, and the windows inside the cabin moved away from the frost.
Front view |
But the bus is already used to transport children in Chelyabinsk, Miass, Novosibirsk, Krasnoyarsk, etc. And frosts in winter in these regions reach -35 ° C, or even lower. It turns out that the kids inside can turn into snowmen. In general, one heater in the cabin is not enough. We need at least one more.
Natural ventilation is carried out through two hatches and windows of the passenger compartment, and forced through the intake of the cabin front.
On a long journey, children definitely need rest. And how to collect “small” in the bus in the parking lot, every teacher knows well – you can break your voice. Therefore, the car is equipped with a speakerphone between the driver and the street. Well, since the bus passengers are children, a speed limiter is installed on the car, which does not allow accelerating faster than 60 km / h.
Let’s go. ..
The fuse box is located on the front panel. |
Having equipped our test equipment with the necessary equipment, we carry out testing in running order. Once in the driver’s seat, you immediately feel like in a GAZ truck. The only difference is that due to the greater width of the cab of KavZ versus GAZ, the bus is a little more spacious.
The driver’s seat itself looks like it has air suspension. In fact, don’t believe your eyes. Under the corrugated cover there is a spring with a shock absorber, quite rigid, but when moving, to the honor of the plant, it does not emit unpleasant squeaks.
Despite the limited set of adjustments for the driver’s seat and the non-adjustable steering column, you can sit comfortably behind the wheel. The mutual arrangement of the steering wheel, pedals and gearshift lever with a fitted seat turns out to be quite successful. The normal gearshift pattern, convenient selection and inclusion moves leave a pleasant impression of the “box”.
Turbo engine |
Having completed the route of simulating the urban traffic mode, we can say that the bus has quite decent dynamics. When overcoming climbs in running order, top gear is enough, there are no problems with the brakes either, the ABS works fine (there was snow and ice on the road), however, the effort on the brake pedal is too big. And using the fuel pedal is somewhat inconvenient. There is no clear pedal stop, when pressed to the end, the engine speed during acceleration does not exceed 2000, but if you press the pedal, as they say, to the floor, the engine spins up to the prescribed 2400 rpm.
The extended base also makes itself felt by the fact that in the near-zero zone the steering wheel seems very “long” compared to a car with a conventional base, but you quickly get used to this feature.
Location of the engine and its systems in the engine compartment |
In the laden version, due to a slight increase in the total weight, the average speed on the route did not change much, only slightly increased fuel consumption, and fourth gear was required on some climbs. Fuel consumption is within normal limits. The maximum speed, however, turned out to be somewhat lower than expected. The fact is that the speed limiter was not set up, and I had to slow down so that there were no jerks when driving.
It should be noted that fuel consumption, acceleration and coastdown were determined in winter on a snowy and icy road at low temperatures. In the summer, all indicators will, of course, be better. Despite the fact that this machine is inferior to foreign analogues, it meets all the necessary requirements for such equipment and, given the rather low price, it will definitely find its consumer.
The editors would like to thank the management of LLC “KAVZ” for the provided car.

What are the requirements for school buses in Russia
The first specialized school buses in Russia appeared in 1999 after the adoption of GOST R51160-98 “Buses for transporting children ….
The first specialized school buses appeared in Russia at 1999 after the adoption of GOST R51160-98 “Buses for transporting children. Technical requirements”. In the course of the federal program “School Bus”, as well as within the framework of the national project “Education”, schools were mainly supplied with KAVZs and MAZs, which became the most massive school buses in the country.
In fact, the range of school buses is much wider. For sightseeing trips, large 12-meter buses are made by whole classes, which are used in large cities. And for the transportation of small groups of children, for example, to sports competitions or amateur performances in the neighboring region, economical school minibuses based on the GAZelle are increasingly used today.
However, regardless of the size of the school bus, running gear and controls, very strict requirements are always imposed on it, especially regarding safety. Transportation of groups of children must be carried out in buses that have large identification signs “Transportation of children” in front and behind in the form of a yellow square with a red border (side not less than 25 centimeters) and a contrasting inscription “Children”.
The speed of buses with small passengers on board is limited by special devices to 60 km/h. In addition, buses must be equipped with modern brakes with an anti-lock braking system (ABS), which allows in extreme situations to shorten the braking distance of the car and prevent it from skidding during emergency braking.
Passive safety of students in the bus is ensured by the solid frame of the body of the bus itself, which ideally should have a spatial tubular truss capable of taking the entire load on itself during a rollover and minimizing the deformation of the passenger compartment.
Much attention is paid to the seats in the children’s bus. By the way, by law, school buses are designed to transport children aged 6 to 16 years. So the seats should have slightly smaller dimensions than a full-fledged adult, high back with a headrest (to protect the cervical vertebrae when hitting a car from behind), installed only in the direction of travel and must be equipped with a seat belt and armrests from the side of the aisle.
In addition, the bus must have at least two seats for accompanying them, and in each transverse row there must be a signal button “Request to stop”.
The above-mentioned GOST clearly stipulates the location of the handrails in the school bus and the size of the passage between the seats, the width of which is at least 40 centimeters, as well as the height of the steps at the entrance to the passenger compartment. The height of the first step from the level of the road should be no more than 25 centimeters, and the height of the subsequent ones – no more than 20.
That is why many school buses converted from “adults” have a whole cascade of small steps at the entrance, which is not very convenient for children to climb. Buses with a high seating position, for example, all-wheel drive PAZs, are necessarily equipped with additional steps (retractable at stops with open doors), which, firstly, reduces the geometric cross-country ability of the bus itself, and secondly, becomes a source of additional “headache” for drivers.
After all, a footboard broken in the open position will not allow the bus to move on – the automation will simply block the movement, since any school bus must be equipped with a device that prevents the start of movement when the passenger doors are open or not completely closed.
Additional interior equipment should include special places for school bags (a huge rack is usually made in the bus). They should not be on their knees while driving – a student’s briefcase is usually so heavy that if the bus brakes hard, it can cause injury.
At the same time, practice shows that children prefer to keep their belongings within their personal space, and not store them in a “common pile”, but rules are rules.
GOST proposes to provide, however, with some reservations, and each school bus a place for folded wheelchairs (at least two) for children with impaired musculoskeletal functions. And in the case of regular transportation of children with limited mobility moving in wheelchairs, a door with a lift must be provided in the side or rear of the bus.
It should be noted with regret that these requirements are almost never met, since extra space is needed for a wheelchair, and this is not always possible due to the small dimensions of the buses themselves. According to the same safety requirements, school buses must be equipped with a sound siren and loud-speaking devices and equipped with two first-aid kits.
School bus drivers are required to turn on their hazard warning lights when getting on and off children. When approaching a stopped school bus with the hazard warning lights on, drivers of other vehicles must slow down and, if necessary, stop to let the children pass. In order for the driver to control boarding and disembarking, and for the children to be in his field of vision during boarding or disembarking, buses are equipped with additional mirrors.
In conclusion, we note once again that the transportation of children in school buses is not just a boon to civilization, but a very responsible and difficult “occupation”, which clearly follows even from a far from complete list of equipment provided for by the current GOST, and far from all job responsibilities of the drivers we mentioned. And it cannot be otherwise, because the price of neglecting these requirements is the life of a child!
