Osteopath’s advice: how to increase your height

High growth is a sign of attractiveness for many. That is why people often want to become a little taller, even if they are already over twenty-five and, it would seem, the growth period of the body has long passed. Exercises on the horizontal bar, swimming, stretching – we have heard more than once that physical activity helps in this matter. Since there is a tendency to decrease in height with age, an excellent result will be already if the height remains unchanged. Vladimir Zhivotov, an osteopath, cranioposturologist, co-author of the Craniobalance method, talks about how to grow up.

People over the age of 25 can sometimes increase their height by 1-3 cm. This is real.

A person’s height is largely determined by the conditions in which he develops. An important role is also played by heredity, lifestyle and ecology. The average height of a man is 176-180 cm, for women it is slightly lower – 164-168 cm. It is believed that the growth of boys is completed by the age of 18-21, and girls grow up to 15-18 years. In addition, the farther from the equator a person lives, the less sunlight he receives, the sooner he stops growing. Meanwhile, some growth continues up to 25 years. However, even if you have already crossed this age limit, do not despair.

People over the age of 25 can sometimes increase their height by 1-3 cm. This is real and does not require expensive supplements or leg-stretching surgery to achieve the goal. The main thing is to use the internal reserves of the body correctly: regularly engage in special physical exercises that will help straighten the spine. So, if you want to grow up, follow a few simple rules.

1. Gently stretch

The daily development of the flexibility of the body leads to the fact that the muscles and tendons are stretched, and the spine is aligned.

The simplest exercise is forward bending: try to reach the floor with your fingertips.

The “Raising the Sky” exercise is excellent for stretching the body. Stand up straight, lower your arms down, relax your muscles, put your feet together. Then raise your arms up (while taking a deep breath through your nose), point your palms to the sky and hold them perpendicular to your forearms. Look at your fingers, hold your breath. Then, through the sides, lower your hands down, exhaling smoothly through your mouth, lower your head and look forward. Slowly repeat the exercise about 5-10 times.

2. Pull up on the bar in the evening

Hang on the bar for a few seconds in the late afternoon. I do not recommend attaching weights to the legs, since an increased load can not only provoke pain, but also lead to problems with the lumbar spine and shoulder girdle. It is important to practice this exercise daily.

3. Breaststroke

Swimming regularly improves breathing and stretches the body. Particularly well stretches the spine during breaststroke swimming. Of course, watch your diet.
