Former daycare employee arrested, charged for biting toddler in Laurel

JONES COUNTY, Miss. (WDAM) – A woman is behind bars in Jones County after being accused of biting a toddler while in her care at a Laurel daycare center in December.

According to the Jones County Sheriff’s Department, Haley Rozek, 26, was arrested Monday and has been charged with felony child abuse.

The sheriff’s department says, on Wednesday, Dec. 7, Deputy Priscilla Pitts spoke with the mother of the toddler at the sheriff’s office, where she told the deputy that she took her son to the Kids Company on the morning of Monday, Dec. 5.

The mother told Pitts that she noticed marks on her son’s arm later that night, which led Pitts to tell the mother to take a video and photos of the toddler’s arm and send them to her.

On Tuesday, Dec. 6, it was determined by the mother that the marks came from an adult bite from an employee at the daycare center after speaking with the owner about what she discovered.

JCSD says Pitts spoke with the daycare director, Heather Holifield, on Monday, Dec. 5. Holifield told the deputy that Rozek came to the daycare around 11 a.m., and around 8 p.m. that night, the mother of the toddler messaged her with pictures and video of the bite mark.

Holifield said on Tuesday, Dec. 6, she got a message from the mother to tell her that she found another mark on the child. Holifield told the mother that a worker was in the room the child was in and was relieved by Rozek.

Both Rozek and the other worker denied biting the toddler after Holifield brought the incident up to them, but later that day, Rozek admitted to Holifield that she did bit the child’s arm.

According to JCSD, Rozek told Holifield that she was holding the toddler, trying to calm him down, and blew on his arm. The child then pulled away from Rozek, and she bit him. Holifield told Rozek that since she confessed, they did not have to watch the surveillance footage.

JCSD says Sgt. J.D. Carter notified Pitts that a copy of the security camera footage and a statement from Holifield were needed after she spoke with Rozek.

Holifield did send copies of Rozek’s statement and the report she filled out, to Pitts, according to JCSD.

Holifield contacted Pitts later that day, telling the deputy she found the time frame of when the child would’ve been bitten but the camera did not show it happening because of the lighting.

The sheriff’s department says Pitts was able to get the video recorded on a thumb drive.

On Monday, Dec. 16, the mother later told Pitts that she spoke with Holifield to find out that Rozek had filed for unemployment after Holifield was contacted by the unemployment office.

Pitts tried to reach out to Holifiled but did not talk to her until Thursday, Dec. 19. On that day, Holifield told the deputy that she spoke with someone from the unemployment office, and they told her that Rozek told the unemployment office that she was fired because she accidentally bit a child.

Holifield said she did not have any paperwork at that time, since she was told that information over the phone.

Rozek is currently booked at the Jones County Adult Detention Center where she is waiting for her initial appearance in court.

Kublo of the “Russian world” in the form of the Opposition Platform for Life and Medvedchuk’s channels – a kindergarten compared to the pro-Kremlin church fraternity in the Lavra

Pasha-Mercedes is not cheerful.

The previous case against him was started in 2018, but as a vindictive person, I remember all his stages of a long journey. In particular, the eviction from the territory of the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra of the infectious diseases hospital Gromashevsky. Lavra played a key role in this bestiality – personally, the governor Pavel Lebed (in the world – Pasha-Mercedes) was “unpleasant to be near people who walked and got all the diseases that you can only get. And in general, such a hospital is not the place here.” I really hope that in the very near future the viceroy will be pleased. And the “heavy cross to Calvary”, which Lebed promised to carry along with Yanukovych, Pshonka and Klyuyev, he will carry elsewhere.

Not a fact, of course. If since 1994 he has headed this reserve of the spirit, then he has a good roof. Although it is leaking.

The many-sided kublo of the “Russian world” in the form of the Opposition Platform for Life, Medvedchuk’s channels and other media resources is a kindergarten compared to the pro-Kremlin church lads, who freely and shamelessly revived Mother Rus’ for years and decades, polluting the brains of millions. The ecclesiastical brainwashing of the masses is not TV or news sites. And extremely effective propaganda, built on maximum obedience, fear and humility.

In fact, Pasha’s resonant scandals with cursing and insulting journalists (“slut”, “monkey”) were built on the same effective methods. The Lavra vicegerent speaks the language of the gateway in the framework of frightening performances simply superbly and has proved it more than once.

The SBU now regularly visits various reserves. Not so long ago, they took for a sundress Metropolitan Jonathan Yeletsky, the administrator of the Tulchin diocese, who invested in the revival of the mother no less than Mercedes. “To Patriarch Kirill – our thousandfold cheers!” (from his report in St. Petersburg).

Eletskikh has been charged under Art. 161 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (extremism). Up to eight years in prison. If they prove treason – up to 15. He has already hired lawyers and said that everything was planted on him.

“Clouds were moving. Eagles were circling over Father Fyodor. The bravest of them stole the rest of the amateur sausage.”

Love never dies

“Remember your mentors,
who preached to you
the word of God, and, looking at the death of
their lives, imitate their faith.

(Hebrews, ch. 13, verse 7).

Our dear, beloved father, dear Archimandrite Alexander, has departed to the Lord.

For the first time, my daughter and I met the priest in the winter of 1987 years old. My daughter got sick. For two years, they were treated by doctors, consulted by professors, examined in the children’s department of the 1st Medical Institute, and even, to my shame and sincere repentance, turned to a “healer”. And only after going this long way, they finally turned to God, went to church.

At confession, the priest blessed me to go to the Lavra to St. Sergius and ask God for help.

The diagnosis was disappointing – juvenile rheumatoid arthritis. My daughter had severe pain in her legs (she was then 12 years old).

We went to Lavra. Winter, severe frost. We walked to the Lavra. We slowly entered the territory and headed to the Trinity Church. On the path along the Assumption Cathedral, a monk overtakes us, suddenly turns sharply in our direction and, pointing to his daughter, says: “Your place is here” – and then, pointing to me, continues: forgive” . And he went, almost ran on.

Later we get to confession to this monk. It was hegumen Alexander. We began to constantly go to confession in the Lavra to this priest. Through the prayers of Father Alexander, all these years we felt the help of God.

The distinguishing features of the priest were: deep faith in God, strict observance of the commandments, modesty, asceticism, inner culture, delicacy, philanthropy, a desire to help everyone, to support in a difficult life situation.

He also taught us, his spiritual children, all this.

You could turn to the priest for help at any time. He was always ready to communicate and provide spiritual assistance in solving difficult issues. Batiushka sincerely wanted to help everyone. He gave himself to people and hurt his soul for everyone.

There was such a case. My daughter, after graduating from a technical university, entered a humanitarian one. She made a new friend at the institute. Once, at a meeting, the father asked about how Alla lives (that was the name of my daughter). I told him everything about Alla and her friend at the institute. This girl was about to get married. Father Alexander thought deeply and said: “Ask her if she wants to meet me?” . Batiushka had never seen this girl before and had not heard anything about her.

The meeting took place. The father persuaded his girlfriend not to marry this man, saying that this marriage would not be successful, that she would marry another person, and this must be parted with. Unfortunately, a friend made a decision, and the wedding took place. After the birth of the child, the marriage broke up.

The disease progressed and my daughter stopped walking. Now the father visited her at home. Every year during Great Lent, Father Alexander came to consecrate Alla, spiritual daughter Galina, and me. This went on for 10 years. At meetings, the priest gave books to everyone, talked with us, answered questions, blessed everyone according to his strength to fulfill the prayer rules, that is, he completely nourished us. I went to confession alone. Father very carefully read the note with sins, gave advice, wise instructions. I never scolded, never raised my voice, but only taught, explained, edified … I took the sea of sins to the priest. While reading the note with sins, the priest gave everyone leaflets with excerpts from the Holy Scriptures, with the teachings of the holy fathers of the Church.

Father Alexander taught us to live according to the commandments of God, himself being an example for us.

Possessing an excellent memory, Father Alexander knew the Bible, the Gospel, and the works of the Holy Fathers well. The priest answered questions with quotations from the Gospel and the Bible, referring to the chapter and verse that he used in conversations.

The father’s love for his children and prayerful help was always felt. Father Alexander penetratingly saw the soul of each person, and the Lord revealed to him the past, future and even thoughts.

One day, after confession, the priest says to me: “You are doing the right thing by lighting candles for the martyr Uar for her husband. It will be credited to you” . I never told him that I put candles on the candlestick in front of the icon of the martyr Uar for the unbaptized late husband.

There was such a case. The father calls, congratulates me on the feast of the Assumption of the Most Holy Theotokos and says that I should not quarrel with anyone.

I am a very touchy person, but not scandalous. At the time, I was on the education committee. On September 1, all employees were in educational institutions of the city. The secretary and I were at the workplace. The mother of one child came and made a scandal. There was something unimaginable: she was screaming, running around the office. She didn’t want to listen to anything, she demanded a ticket for the child to kindergarten. For security reasons, the secretary and I went out into the corridor and opened the door wide open. Employees from other departments came running to the cry. Everyone urged her to calm down and deal with the situation. She immediately wrote a complaint that she was expelled from the department, and left. Everyone witnessed that this was not true. Batiushka’s warning was my salvation and guidance in the current situation.

The Lord took my only daughter from me. My grief knew no bounds. She came to confession to Father Alexander. Father with love, but in a stern voice, says: “What else do you want from God? Your daughter was saved in eternity. What do you want? Don’t cry, she feels very bad when you cry” .

Sorrow and pain are enormous, but through the prayers of the dear father, with God’s help, I carry it through life.

In September 2020, I fell ill with covid, and was hospitalized in an ambulance in a serious condition.

They brought me to the ward, I took out my phone and called Father Alexander. I asked the father for forgiveness, saying that I did not know if I would be alive.

The next day in the morning, Father Alexander called me and told me to give the phone to my trusted person. I was surprised, but I did as the priest said. In the afternoon I went out into the corridor, lost consciousness and fell. I was rushed to the emergency room. There was no telephone, no communication with the outside world. The request to invite a priest was refused. The dynamics of the disease is negative, I felt that I was dying. She was in intensive care for almost 3 weeks under a ventilator. She returned home a month later. I couldn’t walk, so they brought me on a stretcher. Only through the prayers of the priest God gave me life.

From home, I called and thanked Father Alexander. Father answered: “Not me, thank God” .

On October 22, late in the evening, they sent me a photo and informed me about the departure of Archimandrite Alexander to the Lord. At first I could not understand and accept this message. Eyes from tears did not see anything, hearing was gone. Gathered her courage, called the spiritual sister, who reported this message. She confirmed that we are talking about our father Alexander, and said when the funeral service would be.
