There is always a Director or Asst. Director in the school building to answer any question you may have. Teachers always maintain current First Aid & Child CPR Training.
Throughout the year we enjoy special visitors, including trained technicians to test each child’s vision and hearing, certified nurses, and a professional photographer for your child’s school pictures.
Friendship Corner Childcare offers full and half day programs available from 6:30 a.m. until 6:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. The nursery for infants and toddlers is also available these same hours.

When did you first become interested in photography?
I remember as a child my father was fond of photography, so at home we had a dark room for developing photos. My brothers and I had cameras with manual settings. We took a lot of photographs on black and white film, and then developed and printed them ourselves. At the same time, my mother opened a kindergarten at home and worked there on weekdays. As a teenager, I started taking pictures of the children in her daycare and selling the pictures to their parents to get some pocket money. I continued to study photography during my studies at the university, as I always wanted to become a photographer.
But I thought that it was just a dream, and in the end I would do something else in life. nine0009
How did photography become your career?
When I still wanted to become a photographer after trying several different things, my older brother loaned me money to open a children’s photography studio, and it all seemed to happen at the right time. Digital photography became more and more affordable, so I was able to purchase a Canon EOS 10D camera and a computer, but still lived with my parents until I got back on my feet.

What difficulties did you have to overcome?
The main problems that I encountered at the beginning of my journey are still relevant today.
The main difficulty lies in attracting customers. You can take the best photos in the world, but if people don’t know about you, it’s hard to get new clients. And when you are just starting out, it takes time and experience to learn how to work with children. I remember photographing four little boys in a basement apartment on a cloudy rainy day and I thought that if this was my job, it would be interesting and exciting. The longer you work with kids, the more you’ll learn new ways to get the best shots while still having a nice and fun shooting environment. nine0009

What advice would you give to aspiring professional photographers? nine0022
One of the things to remember is that photography is rarely the road to wealth. It’s hard work, so before you leave your old job in favor of photography, it’s important to remember that success doesn’t come overnight.
You need to devote as much time as possible to your learning and development. The internet is a great source for hands-on examples and learning new shooting techniques. But the most important thing is practice. Because nothing compares to real shooting. It’s good to start by taking photos of your friends or family before taking paid orders. The more you shoot, the more tricks you’ll learn and the faster you’ll find your style of shooting. nine0009

What equipment do you currently use? nine0022
I’m currently working with two cameras because I want to move to mirrorless devices.
I still shoot with my favorite Canon EOS-1D X Mark II which I use with Canon EF 85mm f/1.4L IS USM, Canon EF 35mm f/1.4L II USM and Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8L lenses II USM. Children are very mobile, and besides, you never know what they can throw in your direction, carried away by games – sand, a solution for soap bubbles or plush toys. That’s why the EOS-1D X-Series is ideal for shooting with children, thanks to its exceptional autofocus and robust design. nine0009
I started using the Canon EOS R5 in 2020 and it was a great decision. I really like the eye and face tracking, the tilt-adjustable touch screen and the 5940 AF positions, which allow me to create interesting new compositions for my clients. I use this camera in combination with the amazing Canon RF 50mm F1.2L USM lens. If I could take only one lens with me to a desert island, I would choose it. I also use the Canon RF 35mm F1.8 Macro IS STM, a truly versatile lens. I especially like its macro function, which allows you to create perfect photos of newborns.
In 2021, I plan to complete my equipment list with the Canon RF 85mm F1.2L USM lens. The new RF lenses are simply amazing quality. nine0009
I always advise against skimping on a fast prime lens, because it allows you to shoot indoors in natural light, and in such conditions you can learn a lot about aperture and shutter speed. The Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 STM is an affordable, high-quality prime lens for creative experimentation. And owners of a Canon full-frame mirrorless camera should take a closer look at the Canon RF 50mm F1.8 STM lens.
