The aquatic personnel, especially the lifeguards. They are aware of my physical situation, and help me getting equipment needed. At the of my workout they ready and willing return my cane to me.
Also, the front desk workers are pleasant. They greet members and greet them by name.

YMCA of Russia

YMCA of Russia

Interregional Association “YMCA” is a non-political association of public organizations whose activities are aimed at the comprehensive development of youth and families. As part of the international YMCA movement, which embraces more than 55 million people in 125 countries, the YMCA of Russia is committed to the development of volunteerism, youth leadership, the formation of traditions of social responsibility and a healthy lifestyle in society.

Mission of the Association: moral, mental and physical development of children, youth and families, formation of social responsibility. The mission was accepted and approved by all local organizations, each of which strives to achieve it through relevant programs at the local level, active interregional and international cooperation. Such a desire to pool efforts and resources, as well as collegial decision-making is reflected in the legal form of the existence of the YMCA in Russia – the Interregional Association.

By creating conditions for the personal and professional growth of young people, as well as providing them with practical opportunities to participate in the implementation of programs and the development of the organization, the YMCA of Russia contributes to the education of active, responsible and competent youth leaders who are motivated and able to contribute to positive changes in society.

The goals and objectives of the Association are in harmony with the priorities of the international YMCA movement. YMCA Russia is a full member of the World YMCA Alliance and YMCA Europe, thereby opening up new opportunities for training and development of its members, attracting additional resources, exchanging best practices with international partners.

The key priorities of the strategic plan for 2020-2022 are:

1. Development of active interaction between local organizations.

Exchange of methodologies and experts.

Conducting interregional events.

Youth leaders training.

Development of a corporate culture that reflects the values of YMCI and relevant behavior patterns.

Development of joint projects.

2. Development of effective democratic governance at the national and local level
levels.

Formation of an effective management structure in interregional and local organizations.

Improving managerial competencies.

Democracy of management (representation, turnover, regularity of meetings, etc.).

3. Development of youth leadership.

Inclusion of youth in the activities of the organization at different levels (including management).

Conducting regular activities to train youth leaders.

Expansion and support of the inter-regional leadership asset from among the key youth leaders of various local IMOs.

4. Development of key program areas.

Camps (children’s, youth, family, leadership, international, etc.).

Ecology (formation of environmental responsibility through various programs and projects in the field of environmental protection).

Tenzing: training program for youth leaders using creative disciplines (vocal, dance, theatre).

International cooperation.

YMCA of Russia is represented in 10 cities of our country

There are many different projects, and in all cities they have their own: these are camps for children and teenagers, and assistance to the elderly, and sports events. But everywhere and always we emphasize the main values of “IMKI”, namely the harmonious development of the mind, spirit and body.

OC YMCA Prime became a local organization of the YMCA of Russia and part of the international YMCA movement in 2018.

The national office is located in Ivanovo.
