Opened in 1958, Plant Street is our historic Winter Garden elementary school for Pre-K – 6th. Centrally located between Winter Garden, Ocoee and Windermere at 125 E Plant St, Winter Garden, FL 34787, our Plant Street campus offers a diverse lower school academic program, athletic and fine arts opportunities, chapel services, and more.
Our Plant Street campus is easily accessible from 429 and Route 50, conveniently located on the corner of Plant St. and Dillard. You’ll also find we’re situated at the entrance of Historic Downtown Winter Garden, which houses many charming mom-and-pop businesses that are very community-oriented.

Since our Plant St. Campus opened its doors, we have been intentional to make education embraceable by both student and teacher, offering fresh and vibrant learning opportunities. Students have the opportunity to learn and grow here from as early as Pre-K and can smoothly ease into middle and high school after spending a transition year (6th grade) at this location.

| Abstract: | The winter garden improves the mood of schoolchildren and makes school visits more enjoyable. Students spend most of the year indoors, so we want to decorate the building with green plants. Plants in the school play not only an aesthetic and educational, but also an educational role. Many of them can serve as a visual aid in the lessons of botany, biology and even geography, when it comes to the vegetation of tropical and subtropical regions of the globe. According to psychologists, the winter garden helps to relieve stress, creating a favorable atmosphere in the school. Phytoncides secreted by plants have a wide spectrum of antimicrobial activity. Indoor plants are a natural regulator of the state of the air environment, and the smell of volatile substances has a positive effect on the regulatory and coordinating activity of the cerebral cortex and respiratory organs. There are several types of winter gardens. The idea of creating a Garden of Eden (Eden) on Earth dates back to ancient times. The arrangement of a winter garden is a very long and laborious process, but still feasible. We believe that in the conditions of the school you can create a winter garden with your own hands, the school has all the favorable conditions for the growth and development of plants. |

In the last 10-15 years, many owners of suburban real estate have been equipping winter gardens: they allow you to preserve the summer atmosphere even in the conditions of the Russian winter.
Winter gardens fit perfectly into the architectural ensembles of medical institutions, entertainment and business centers, cultural and sports facilities, as well as administrative buildings. The winter garden serves as a decoration of any space and gives its owners the opportunity for a secluded quiet rest, and also contributes to the creation of a natural microclimate and a peaceful atmosphere in the room.
The winter garden is a complex, beautifully designed space with enhanced natural light and good thermal protection. In order to design a winter garden, you need to know not only the range of plants and their requirements. It is also necessary to learn the basics of construction, technical equipment and equipment; be it an extension to a building, or a stand-alone pavilion. It is important to master a number of aspects for the competent design of the winter garden and indoors.
The curriculum of our School “Planning, designing, equipping and decorating winter gardens” provides for the acquisition of all these knowledge and skills by students.
Here the listener will receive the basics of knowledge on the construction and technical equipment, as well as master the directions and styles in the design of winter gardens; Experienced practitioners will teach you how to select and properly place plants in winter garden compositions, help you master the “wisdom” of preparing soil mixtures for planting plants, conduct study tours to study the material in the Botanical Garden, hold practical classes on composing compositions from plants, seminars on designing specific winter gardens of various styles and categories.
In our School you will also acquire the skills of quick sketching (shapes – dimensions and heights – colors – finished composition), which will be required in the future for direct work with the Customer, learn how to draw up project documentation and negotiate. Thus, the ultimate goal of the training program for the arrangement of winter gardens is the training and graduation of highly qualified specialists who are able to independently conduct an examination of premises for winter gardens, design and create real paradises of wildlife.
