Apache2 Debian Default Page: It works

Apache2 Debian Default Page

This is the default welcome page used to test the correct
operation of the Apache2 server after installation on Debian systems.
If you can read this page, it means that the Apache HTTP server installed at
this site is working properly. You should replace this file (located at
/var/www/html/index.html) before continuing to operate your HTTP server.

If you are a normal user of this web site and don’t know what this page is
about, this probably means that the site is currently unavailable due to
maintenance.
If the problem persists, please contact the site’s administrator.

Debian’s Apache2 default configuration is different from the
upstream default configuration, and split into several files optimized for
interaction with Debian tools. The configuration system is
fully documented in
/usr/share/doc/apache2/README.Debian.gz
. Refer to this for the full
documentation. Documentation for the web server itself can be
found by accessing the manual if the apache2-doc
package was installed on this server.

The configuration layout for an Apache2 web server installation on Debian systems is as follows:

/etc/apache2/
|-- apache2.conf
| `-- ports.conf
|-- mods-enabled
| |-- *.load
| `-- *.conf
|-- conf-enabled
| `-- *.conf
|-- sites-enabled
| `-- *.conf

  • apache2.conf is the main configuration
file. It puts the pieces together by including all remaining configuration
files when starting up the web server.
  • ports.conf is always included from the
main configuration file. It is used to determine the listening ports for
incoming connections, and this file can be customized anytime.
  • Configuration files in the mods-enabled/,
    conf-enabled/ and sites-enabled/ directories contain
particular configuration snippets which manage modules, global configuration
fragments, or virtual host configurations, respectively.
  • They are activated by symlinking available
    configuration files from their respective
*-available/ counterparts. These should be managed
    by using our helpers

    a2enmod,
    a2dismod,

    a2ensite,
    a2dissite,

    and

    a2enconf,
    a2disconf
. See their respective man pages for detailed information.

  • The binary is called apache2. Due to the use of
environment variables, in the default configuration, apache2 needs to be
    started/stopped with /etc/init.d/apache2 or apache2ctl.
Calling /usr/bin/apache2 directly will not work with the
    default configuration.

By default, Debian does not allow access through the web browser to
any file apart of those located in /var/www,
public_html
directories (when enabled) and /usr/share (for web
applications). If your site is using a web document root
located elsewhere (such as in /srv) you may need to whitelist your
document root directory in /etc/apache2/apache2. conf.

The default Debian document root is /var/www/html. You
can make your own virtual hosts under /var/www. This is different
to previous releases which provides better security out of the box.

Please use the reportbug tool to report bugs in the
Apache2 package with Debian. However, check existing bug reports before reporting a new bug.

Please report bugs specific to modules (such as PHP and others)
to respective packages, not to the web server itself.

Sweet peas – three months of enjoyment – Articles – Hobby Garden

As a rule, peas are grown on the plot only as a treat for children and adults. A small bed is taken under it, mainly along the fence and they do not particularly care about care. Usually, amateur vegetable growers do not harvest peas for future use, preferring factory-made canned food. Although there is a reliable way to harvest green peas at home – freezing, which allows you to save all its useful properties. Therefore, it is worth going beyond the traditional small garden and sowing peas in a larger area in order to stock up on this vegetable delicacy for the winter.

PEA OR PEA?

Lodging pea stalk, 25-250 cm high, depending on the variety. A characteristic feature of peas is the presence of tendrils that end the leaf. The fruit of a pea is a bean, consisting of two valves, between which there are seeds (in an immature form, in the phase of technical ripeness, they are called “peas”).

What do you need to know about this crop? Pea is a cold-resistant light-loving plant, the seeds begin to germinate at a temperature of 1 … 2 ° C. The optimum temperature for growth and development is 12…16°C, for flowering and fruit formation – 16…20°C. Seedlings can tolerate short-term frosts down to -7°C. Seeds need a lot of water to germinate. This is one of the reasons why it needs to be sown early. Peas can be grown in a variety of soil types. He himself enriches the soil with nitrogen due to the activity of nodule bacteria that settle in the tissues of the root system.

WHICH VARIET TO CHOOSE

Varieties of peas are divided into fodder, grain (used for food after cooking) and vegetable (used both fresh and after cooking).

In turn, all vegetable varieties are divided into peeling and sugar varieties. Shelling bean shells have a hard parchment layer. Sugar varieties do not have such a layer, so they are eaten with shoulder blades.

If you want to eat seeds, then buy peeling varieties – their peas are tender, sweet, tasty (these varieties are used for the production of canned peas). Sugar varieties are grown for eating shoulder blades along with seeds – both fresh and after cooking.

WE GROW IT RIGHT

Pea farming is quite simple, but to get high yields you need to know some of its features.

When to sow?

First, the timing of sowing. In the middle lane, in order to obtain the earliest harvest at the end of June, the seeds must be sown at the end of April, as soon as spring tillage becomes possible. In areas with fertile soils, fertilizers for peas can be omitted. On poorer soils, it is recommended to apply organic (compost or humus, fresh manure cannot be applied) and phosphorus-potassium fertilizers before autumn (in extreme cases, spring) digging.

Sow in beds

Can be sown with both dry and soaked seeds. The scheme of sowing on personal plots depends on the chosen place. Peas are often sown along fences, in this case the sowing method is ordinary in 1-2 rows with a distance between rows of 15-20 cm and between seeds – 5-8 cm. with a distance between rows of 15-20 cm and between tapes – 50 cm. In this case, it is easier to carry out weeding and loosening, as well as to install supports. Seeding depth – 2-3 cm.

It is desirable to allocate a separate bed for early varieties of peas, because. they are well included in the crop rotation along with vegetable crops sown in the middle of summer. In this case, the sowing of peas is carried out at the end of April, harvesting – from the end of June to mid-July (within 2-3 weeks). In mid-July, the soil is dug up and daikon, turnip, radish, radish, lettuce, dill and other green crops are sown in this place.

Use supports

The second feature of growing peas is the mandatory installation of supports, especially for late tall varieties. You can use wooden, plastic or metal rods, various types of nets, twine, etc. The vegetable grower’s task is to establish a support, then the plant will cling itself with antennae, rising up. Plants on supports are better illuminated, get sick less, picking fruits is simplified. You can do without supports in two cases: by growing special “whiskered” (or leafless) varieties, which, due to the large number of antennae, are resistant to lodging, or early undersized varieties. In both cases, a different sowing scheme is recommended – an ordinary sowing with a distance between rows of 15-20 cm, so that the plants can approach each other and catch on the antennae.

Watering is a must!

The third rule for achieving a good harvest is the mandatory irrigation in dry weather, especially in the budding, flowering and fruiting phases. Peas tolerate short-term drought, but this reduces the yield; peas very quickly lose their taste and nutritional qualities, and finish fruiting (early varieties can bear fruit only 7-10 days, late 10-14 days).

HARVEST – SPRING TO AUTUMN

Sowing peas at the optimal time – at the end of April, you will be able to harvest from the end of June (depending on the variety) for only 2-3 weeks. It is possible to extend the harvest period by using the method of conveyor sowing. For this, peas are sown in about three terms: in late April, mid-May and early June. Then the crop can be harvested from the end of June to the end of August. For the first sowing period, early varieties are used, for the last – late ones.

When sowing in early June, it is very important to keep the soil moist until emergence. Therefore, it is possible either to sow immediately after the rain, or, after soaking the seeds, sow them in abundantly spilled grooves, in which case friendly shoots will be guaranteed. For greater reliability of seedlings, crops can be covered with non-woven material. It must also be remembered that at later sowing dates, pea plants may suffer from excessive heat in roofing felt and be affected by various diseases in August, especially in rainy weather.

HOW TO COLLECT AND STORE?

One of the important components of the successful cultivation of vegetable peas is the timely harvest. It can be quite difficult for inexperienced vegetable growers to determine readiness for harvesting by appearance. In the industrial cultivation of green peas for canning, readiness for harvesting is determined by a special device. In amateur conditions, the ripeness phase is determined by eye: the grain inside the shoulder blade has reached the optimal size (the peas are located close to each other) – but the shoulder blades should remain bright green. A duller, paler color of the shoulder blades with the appearance of a net is indicative of overripeness. However, such blades should also be removed, because. they hold back the growth of the new young. It is best to collect the shoulder blades in the morning as they form. The harvested crop is not recommended to be stored for a long time – it quickly loses its qualities. If peas are frozen, it is advisable to do this no later than 6 hours after harvesting.

Testing the earliest varieties of sweet peas. Description and photos — Botanichka

I plant sweet peas every year. At the same time – twice a season. But I consider the first sowing to be the most important, since fresh peas are especially pleasing after a long winter. To get an early harvest, you can resort to several methods, for example, to carry out early sowing under a film as early as April, because peas germinate well even at low temperatures. But the right choice of variety is also important. Many manufacturers write on seed bags that the peas are early ripe, but you can only learn the truth from your own experience. In order to find really early and at the same time tasty peas, I decided to purchase all the varieties of peas available to me, which were designated as early ripening. A total of ten varieties were tested.

Testing the earliest varieties of sweet peas

I prefer shelled peas to sugar peas (which can be eaten with shells) as I rarely use peas with pods in cooking. Therefore, I got 9 varieties of shelling peas for testing and only one sugar pea.

I will not indicate the exact dates of ripening in my conditions, since they depend both on the weather and on the timing of sowing, and this season I was a little late with sowing. In the article, I described the varieties, placing them in chronological order as they mature. I also note that all the varieties of peas described below were undersized and did not need support.

1. Shelling peas “Six weeks”

Variety description . Ultra-early variety, ripens 45-55 days after germination. Used fresh, suitable for freezing and canning. Ripens well, high yield. The height of the bushes is 55-68 cm. The beans are curved, saber-shaped, large, 7-8 cm.

Shelling peas “Six weeks”. © Lyudmila Svetlitskaya

My review of the variety. Peas “Six weeks” I have ripened the very first. The bushes unanimously gave up the harvest and turned yellow, freeing up space in the garden. The variety gave many small pods 2-3 cm long. A pea about 1 cm in size. The taste of peas is not particularly sweet. Due to the friendly yield of the crop, it is well suited as a green manure precursor, which will enrich the soil with nitrogen, quickly yield and dry out.

2. Shelling peas “Pervenets”

Variety description . Early variety of peas (42-45 days from germination to technical ripeness). The plant is tall, stems 90-120 cm high. Pods are green, slightly curved with a blunt tip, the length and width of the pod is medium. The grains are tender and sweet, medium wrinkled. Ripening is friendly.

Shelling peas “Firstborn”. © Lyudmila Svetlitskaya

My review of the variety . Peas shelling “Pervenets” had a really sweet taste. The pods are quite large, on average 6 cm long, light in color. Peas about 1 cm in diameter remained sweet even when overripe. For some reason, this pea failed in germination, which turned out to be the lowest of all the varieties tested.

3. Shelling peas “Sprinter”

My review of the variety . Peas shelling “Sprinter” had uniform, aligned pods of an attractive appearance, 5-6 cm long. The taste of these peas is simple, and in overripe peas – with bitterness, like a sowing. Fruiting is extended. The pea is large, 1 cm and a little more.

My review of variety. The shelling peas “Children’s Joy” have beautiful, uniform and rather long pods, 6-7 cm. The peas are large, 1 cm in diameter. The taste is very sweet, literally honey. The bushes gave the harvest unevenly, the first pods ripened along with the early varieties, and the last – with the late ones.

5. Shelling peas “Pioneer”

My review of the variety . Shelling peas “Pioneer”, despite its name, turned out to be almost the latest of the early ripening varieties I tested. The taste is very sweet, the peas are large, 1 cm. The pods are the longest of all the varieties of shelled peas I grow – 10 cm! The harvest ripened unevenly.

6. Shelling peas “Karina”

A variety of Dutch selection, ultra-early, 45-48 days pass from full germination to technical maturity. The height of the bushes is 60-70 cm. The leaves are dark green, the flowers are white. My review of the variety . Shelling peas “Karina”, although it has the designation “ultra-early” on the bag of seeds, has ripened one of the very last. The main advantage of this variety is a very rich taste, and it seemed to me the most delicious of the early varieties. Slept unevenly. The pods are 5-7 cm long, the pea is about 1 cm in diameter.

7. Shelling peas “Dakota”

My review of the variety . Peas shelling “Dakota” also does not quite match the description of “very early ripening.” This pea had dark leaves, and this made it stand out in the garden. At the same time, after the return of the crop, the foliage did not get sick and did not turn yellow, as is usually the case with peas, and I planted it in the garden as a fertilizer. The peas are about 1 cm in diameter, the length of the pod is 6-7 cm. The taste is sweet.

My review of variety. Shelling peas “The earliest” in practice turned out to be the latest and ripened a week later than really early-ripening varieties. In terms of size and taste, this variety is average. It has medium-sized pods, 6-7 cm, and medium-sized peas – about 1 cm. The taste is sweetish, unremarkable.

9. Shelling peas “Moscow delicacy”

Variety description . The variety is intended primarily for fresh consumption, and not for processing, so it has a very delicate delicate taste. High yielding and early maturing. Pods are medium in size. The height of the bushes is average, 50 cm.

My review of the variety. Although shelling peas “Moscow delicacy” also belongs to the early ones, I planted it out of competition. I have been growing this variety of peas for more than a year, because it really has a very delicate and incredibly sweet taste. Nevertheless, his peas are small, a little more than 5 mm, and the length of the pod is only 3-5 cm. But the pods are densely packed with peas without gaps.

10. Sugar peas “Children’s sweetness”

Variety description . An early ripe variety of peas, it takes about 50 days from germination to wax ripeness. Pods are long, medium width. This low and productive variety of peas belongs to the sugar group, that is, the whole bean is used for food, since the wings are devoid of a hard parchment layer. Pods are very juicy, fleshy, sweet delicious taste.
