I do not trust anyone with my daughter more than I trust Jillian. I met her through our daughters who are the same age. We started trading babysitting when they were just 5 months old.
My daughter has been a challenge ever since she was born, and Jillian is so patient and kind with her. She seesher strengths, rather than her challenges, and treats her as if she were her own child.
Additionally, Jillian is a trained teacher. She is fantastic at using conscious discipline techniques with the girls, speaks Spanish with them, sings and plays creatively with them, and involves them in daily activities and decisions, even at a very young age. I learn just from watching her interact with her daughter. Jillian will not just provide excellent care for your child, she will provide a learning environment….

Carmen C.

Our family has been lucky enough to work with Carmen since April 2016 when we moved from Norfolk, Virginia with our 8 month old daughter and then again in 2020 when my wife went back to work after having our son. We have felt so fortunate to have someone as attentive, caring, and dependable asCarmen join our family to help us with caring for our kids. We chose to have our kids cared for in her home and they loved it there. Carmen is not only amazing but she has an amazing family as well. She treats us and our kids like family. Our kids love going there and there are many times when pickup time comes and they don’t want to leave. She has taught our kids great manners as well as taught them many educational songs. I would highly, highly recommend her! If we didn’t have to move, we would have loved to have her until our son entered VPK just like we were able to do with our daughter. Any family would be lucky to have her!…

Luz Stella S cared for my twins for four years, from 3 months to the beginning of the pandemic when we moved in with my parents. She is simply superb. Stella managed two babies and little people with love andhumor. Her warmth was obvious not just to me and to my parents, who fell in love with her when they visited, but to the neighbors in my building who would tell me how incredible she was with the boys when they saw her in the hallways or the neighborhood. Stella is also a self-starter who wouldn’t wait for instructions but would look around the house for things to do when she had a moment, leaving my space tidy and well cared for (toddler twins notwithstanding). I would give Stella the highest possible recommendation. She particularly loves caring for babies and preschool kids, with whom she is gifted. Her primary language is Spanish (my kids became bilingual!) but she can also communicate in English, with occasional support.
I am jealous of whomever gets to hire Stella – she is one special lady….

Spanish Kindergarten.. Torrevieja

Next year, going to the Spanish mainland with Martik for the summer, I was already consciously looking for a kindergarten for him.

It’s easy to do this by typing in the Internet the desired city and the search object – escuela infantil. Of course, the Internet does not reflect the entire range of possible offers: not everyone has their own websites and other means of identification. You can add to this list already on the spot. But it was important for me to choose a location in the immediate vicinity of the garden. Therefore, I chose the garden and the apartments in pairs so that the garden could be reached at a walking pace of 5 minutes.

Our kindergarten in the provincial and stupid Torrevieja was located on the street next to the waterfront.

Typically, these institutions accept children from 8 months to 3 years. Yes, you heard right: from 8 months. And I personally observed how tiny babies lie in a separate pen all day in carrying chairs. Of course, during the day they are picked up, fed, played, but for me, this, of course, is an extreme option.

Pamela Druckerman’s book “French children don’t spit food” is written in detail and with humor about the European system of kindergartens. In principle, a lot can be transferred to Spain, but, in my opinion, parental personal boundaries are still more blurred here than in France. It seemed to me that the Spaniards, in principle, love to spend time with their children, and they are not bothered by screams, squeaks, squeals, which are full of all restaurants until midnight. By the way, somewhere on the net I recently came across a funny post about Czech dads. So, in Spain, dads also enjoy walking with their children and often on the playground you can see a baby with a caring dad. The mothers flitting next to me most often turned out to be Russians or from other countries of the post-Soviet world.

Having discovered our kindergarten first on the Internet, then here on FB, I contacted its director back in Moscow, found out the conditions and payment, and upon arrival I was fully armed. The only thing we had to do was to buy the necessary uniform in a special atelier. The uniform of the garden consisted of a T-shirt and shorts, apparently the same uniform children wear in the windy winter months without heating. It was necessary to come to the garden by 9 am and pick up the child no later than 1 pm. A couple of times I was 5 minutes late and got a reprimand. Food was also to be carried in the box. Sadik rented a room in an ordinary 5-storey building. The room was divided into several play and work areas. There was a large dining room and a bedroom. Different activities and games were offered every day, besides, birthdays were celebrated there quite cheerfully. According to my calculations, there were about 25 children aged 1 to 3 in the garden every day. Very small ones lay separately. When I first brought Martik, the director was very surprised at his height (he was 2.7 at the time), because his peers were a cut shorter).

Almost every day, photos and videos of hotel activities and games were posted to the general FB group for parents, where everyone could find their child. I think that for teachers who study the language with kids, such an experience would be especially useful, since, in this case, the children did not master a foreign language, but their own, and this process is somewhat specific. From my personal experience, I know how difficult it is to find a good teacher for a child of this age, because not everyone who knows the language can teach it to this age category.

Leska was very lucky in this regard, because in the era of our life in St. Petersburg, we found a unique Spanish teacher for her, not only an excellent specialist in love with language and culture, but also an amazing person who became a friend of our whole cheerful family and which I always recommend with great pleasure to my friends.

Now I want to point out a particularly sensitive subject. Yes, the Spaniards are not particularly ceremonious with sick children. Snotty, coughing children are the norm for kindergarten. Apparently, in this way the necessary immunity is produced. At first, I looked at it rather calmly, but it turned out that literally a week later Martik was already walking with deep snot, which even the presence of the sea and the sun could not stop (after sleep we floundered in the sea until 8 pm), and a month later he fell down with a sore throat and we lived through a difficult temperature week together. I think that in the perspective of raising immunity, such a neighborhood is a useful thing, but at a particular moment a child who falls ill on vacation is not always a pleasant thing for everyone. In general, I evaluate my son’s Spanish kindergarten experience as a good language start and a multicultural adaptation experiment, which Martik successfully passed. On our last trip to Cuba, we explored a few local establishments and our next experience will likely be Cuban. But for now, these are just plans…..

The development of personal intelligence is in the phrase: “Know thyself!”.

In the Baby Club, we teach a child to listen and understand himself, to reflect on his strengths and weaknesses, to develop self-confidence.

Its foundations are laid at a young age. This is the ability to perceive oneself as part of a vast universe.

Experienced, we introduce kids to objects and phenomena, the world around us, help the child to find a positive meaning in life and a broad outlook.
