AMERICA’S MOST ACCREDITED

We’re so proud!

Nationally only 10% of daycares are accredited – nearly 100% of our learning centers are. That’s a big difference,
and that means KinderCare kids are getting the very best. Here’s why.

SCHOOL-READY

What Learning Looks Like

Our talented early-childhood teachers set kids down the path toward becoming lifelong learners in a positive, safe, and nurturing environment.

Shelton KinderCare Programs

Infant Programs (6 weeks–1 year)

Leaving your baby in someone else’s care is a big step. Everyone at our
centers—most importantly, our naturally gifted infant teachers—will work with
you to make sure the transition goes smoothly. When you step into our infant
classroom, you’ll see how much we want your infant to feel safe, loved, and
ready to explore their world.

Toddler Programs (1–2 Years)

Everything in our toddler classroom is designed for little explorers. That’s
because a lot is going on at this age. When your child is wandering all over the
place, that means they’re learning and discovering new things every day. We’ll
help them explore their interests (and find new ones!) as they play and learn.

Discovery Preschool Programs (2–3 Years)

This age is filled with so much wonder and curiosity. That’s why we offer a ton
of books and toys and bring artwork down to kids eye level. Children in
discovery preschool also begin to learn how we all work together in a
classroom. Simple math and science, pretend play, and group play help them
get used to a more structured school setting.

Preschool Programs (3–4 Years)

This age is all about expression, when kids really start to form their own ideas
about what they want to play and how they want to create. Every day in our
preschool classroom, your child will explore science experiments, create
artwork, and play pretend—all the skills needed for their big next step:
kindergarten!

Prekindergarten Programs (4–5 Years)

When you walk into one of our pre-K classrooms, you’ll see artwork and
writing displayed around the room. Labels are everywhere to help kids connect
letters with words. You’ll also see pictures on the walls that reflect the families
in our community.  Your child will also deepen their knowledge in language,
math, science, Spanish, and social skills.

Before- and After-School Programs (5–12 Years)

You can count on us to provide reliable care for your school-ager while you’re
at work, with safe transportation from our center to your child’s school and
back! Whether your child wants to start a drama club, build a volcano, or
create a comic book, they will have a place to follow their dreams. Your child
will start and end the day with a whole lot of fun!

School Break Programs (preschool, prekindergarten, and school-age)

Winter break, spring break, summer break—when school’s out (but you still need to work), you
can count on KinderCare to provide a safe and supportive learning environment that’s focused
on fun. We welcome children ages 5–12 during school break times and make sure they have a
sensational, screen-free experience they won’t forget.

Learning Adventures – Enrichment Program

Cooking Academy™ (3 – 12 Years)

In Cooking Academy, kids learn new recipes from cultures around the world and
develop a healthy relationship with food. They’ll whip up everything from Southwest
rainbow lettuce wraps to pumpkin muffins, building their skills in STEM, communication,
and more along the way. And yes—little chefs get to eat their culinary creations!

Music Explorers™ (2 – 4 Years)

KinderCare families are already giving a standing ovation to our newest Learning
Adventures program: Music Explorers! Kids will learn to sing, move, listen, play
instruments, and even create their own tunes. Our original curriculum blends math,
science, social studies, literacy, and mindfulness (think yoga!) for a uniquely KinderCare
way of learning the foundations of music.

Phonics Adventures® (2 – 4 Years)

Learning how to read is a whole lot of fun at KinderCare! We help kids grow to love
books and words (and get ready for kindergarten) in our Phonics Adventures program.
From discovering the basics of vowels to practicing poetry, kids learn all about letters
and sounds in small-group lessons made just for their age group. (Bonus: Kids who
attend our phonics program are more prepared than their peers for school—and we
have the data to prove it.)

Spanish

Spanish Adventures provides young learners with a foundation for later success with
the Spanish language. Music, games, children’s Spanish literature, and other tools give
children multiple opportunities to hear, practice, and see Spanish language to develop
vocabulary and conversation skills. Curriculum includes lessons on greetings, numbers,
colors, animals, family, body parts, and pets, as well as how to engage conversationally
during common scenarios at home, a restaurant, or at the zoo.

STEM Innovators (3-8 Years)

You’ve probably heard a lot about how important STEM education is for your child, but
what does that really mean? Our STEM Innovators program takes kids’ natural ability to
make sense of the world and applies it to robotics, chemistry, coding, geology, and
more. While your child experiments, they’ll discover how to use technology to do
amazing things!

Tumbling

Our Teachers

We’re the only company in early childhood education to select teachers based on natural talent. Being a great educator isn’t enough though.
KinderCare teachers are also amazing listeners, nurturers, boo-boo fixers, and smile-makers. Put more simply,
we love our teachers and your child will, too.

A KINDERCARE TEACHER WITH

An Artist’s Heart

“My classroom is full of art!” says Mary Annthipie-Bane, an award-winning early childhood educator at KinderCare. Art and creative expression, she says, help children discover who they really are.

We put our best-in-class teachers in a best-in-class workplace. We’re so proud to have been named one of Gallup’s 37 winners of the Great Workplace Award.
When you put great teachers in an engaging center, your children will experience
an amazing place to learn and grow.

  • I transferred my child from a previous child care center after touring Shelton KinderCare. I was very impressed with the staff that I met and felt like they truly cared. I was pleased to see the classroom and the curriculum they were using. Since being there, my son’s strengths have grown in reading and math. I always look forward to hearing his stories about his day. Each day I am confident that I made the right choice for my son and his educational future. I would like to thank Shelton KinderCare for everything they do for my son and our family. -A Kindergarten Parent

    Jonathan W. – KinderCare Parent
  • KinderCare is a wonderful daycare center and I highly recommend it to any parent. My daughter is three years old and has been in KinderCare since she was six months. All of her teachers have been great.  In infants, the teachers took special care of my daughter. They stimulated her with activities, like sign language, sensory games, and music. When my daughter transitioned to the two’s classroom she flourished tremendously with the guidance and support of the wonderful two’s teachers. She mastered potty training, coloring, writing, numbers, etc. Now that she is in the three’s classroom, I feel like the sky is the limit for her! She has developed by leaps and bounds.

Each class, so far, has been pivotal in her learning and development, social skills, and motor skills.  One thing my daughter really loves that is offered at KinderCare is the cooking classes.  She’s made some tasty treats and dishes.  My husband and I believe KinderCare has, and will continue, to help our daughter succeed and be prepared for future chapters in her life.

Aziza and Kevin – KinderCare Parent
  • I am proud of myself to opt for KinderCare, and lucky too. This is a very important year for my daughter and her Kindergarten readiness. The experiences she is sharing with me each night, it’s amazing! Congratulating the staff as you are showing great teamwork.

    Shilpa K. – KinderCare Parent
  • The summer camp program was fantastic. My daughter had so much fun. All of the field trips kept her occupied and entertained. Our family felt very very comfortable with the staff as well we know (knew)  our children will be safe and well taken care of. I would recommend the summer camp program to everyone.

    Jennifer – KinderCare Parent
  • I couldn’t be more pleased with my son’s classroom and teachers. The Discovery Preschool teachers have done such a great job helping my child develop. Since he has been there, he has been potty trained, learned all of his colors, letters, and basic numbers. Every time I pick up, there are huge smiles on all of the children’s faces. Thank you for being such a big part of my son’s growth.

Read online Orthotrophy: the basics of proper nutrition and therapeutic fasting – Shelton Herbert McGolfin – RuLit

Herbert M. Shelton

Orthotrophy: the basics of nutrition and fasting

Foreword

The purpose of this publication is to acquaint the Russian reader with the essentially unknown world health practice and theory – Natural Hygiene, which originated and took shape in the USA in the 19th century and was further developed in many countries of the world.

The literature on Natural Hygiene is extensive. The book includes only two works by an outstanding representative of this trend, the American G. M. Shelton, which give an idea of its aspects such as proper nutrition and curative fasting. The choice of this problem is dictated by its relevance. Lack of space did not allow highlighting such aspects of Natural Hygiene as physical culture, beauty hygiene, general philosophical and humanitarian approaches of G. Shelton.

In the writings of the supporters of Natural Hygiene, including V. Vetrano, they found a detailed presentation of the phenomena of health and disease, their mechanisms, toxemia as the main cause of the disease, the characteristic of a “single pathological chain”, ways and methods of preventing and treating various diseases on a natural basis. The reader is offered a harmonious, scientifically based and widely tested Health System, accessible to the understanding of an ordinary person. Difficult questions are presented in a clear language, enabling everyone to understand and apply the acquired knowledge in practice. The points of view of representatives of this trend from various countries on the causes of diseases, its mechanisms, methods and results of treatment basically coincide, which allows us to speak about the truth and, therefore, the scientific nature of their approaches and conclusions.

Preface to the book by G. Shelton

“Natural hygiene. The Righteous Way of Man’s Life”

“We are not reformers, we are revolutionaries. The world has had enough reforms in medicine. To reform the drug system by substituting one drug for another is to commit a ridiculous farce. Perhaps in many cases this will replace a great evil with a lesser one, but, nevertheless, it is the same as replacing a greater lie with a smaller one, obscene language with swearing, theft with deceit. Replacing allopathy with homeopathy, or both with physiotherapy, and all together with eclectic treatment, is like preaching moderation, replacing rum, brandy, gin with beer and wine, or animal meat products with milk, butter, and cheese. We don’t have any substitute for drugs. We reject them as evil things and prescribe useful things. We cannot replace lies. We must teach only the truth. Our system is independent of all the others. Her positions are original. Her doctrines were never taught in medical schools. They were never written about in medical books, they were never recognized by physicians. They are probably ahead of everything that has ever been taught and offered, for they follow from the very laws of Nature. We do not recognize any authoritative textbook, except that which is written by the hand of the Lord – the all-encompassing Nature ”(R.T. Troll. From the introductory lecture on problems of medical science, delivered at the New York Hygiene-Therapeutic College).

***

“We ride on the shoulders of colossi,” Dr. Shelton told me recently. When I asked him to name the giants he had in mind, he quickly listed: “Sylvester Graham, Isaac Jennings, William A. Alcott, Mary Gove, Russell T. Troll, George X. Taylor, Thomas L. Nicolet, James Jackson , Robert Walter, Charles E. Page, Felix Oswald and John Tilden. These are the names of men and women who have played a particularly prominent role in the revival and development of Hygiene.

Speaking of Graham, Troll once wrote that in his “Science of Human Life” he suggested: “… all the forces of the material world – heat, light, electricity, magnetism, gravity and others – are just modifications or different manifestations of the same important principle. Less than a quarter of a century later, Troll said, this doctrine was universally recognized under the lofty title of “interaction of forces.” This is just one example among many that could be cited, demonstrating the outstanding intelligence of the people who are responsible for the modern revival of the righteous way of life of man.

Every discovery belongs more to the generation in which it appears than to the person who had the honor of making it. No great truth has ever entered the mind of man in its entirety without more or less prior preparation. As Newton said of his own work, “it was only by standing on the shoulders of giants” that he was able to make discoveries. Copernicus developed the theory of the universe, Kepler deduced a series of astronomical laws, Galileo demonstrated remarkable truths, Dr. Hook predicted the existence of gravity, Bullo declared that “if gravity exists, it will decrease in the square proportion as it moves away.” Newton had only to understand and then show that all the movements of the planets and their laws depend on one main force under the control of one unchanging law, which together constitute the real basis of physical science and mechanical motion.

Dr. Shelton is a giant himself, hence his willingness to admit that he stands on the shoulders of the giants of Natural Hygiene. It took a great mind to synthesize the true science of life from the work of the pioneer hygienists. What was needed were confirmations and correct assessments, plus liberation from the false ideas inherited from our predecessors. There had to be a constructive thinker who would separate the true from the false in the former theories and practices of Hygiene and synthesize, generalize what we now know as the Hygienic System or Natural Hygiene.

Genius is always like Pegasus, admired but not always trusted. At the same time, the inertia of mediocrity inspires confidence, for it suggests kinship with the ordinary crowd. Dr. Shelton is admired, but trusted by almost everyone who hears and reads him, thanks to his convincing, but not arrogant, kind and understandable manner of exposition of Hygiene. In a world filled with infamy, his honesty, like his passion for Natural Hygiene, stands out like a bright, glittering gem against the dark, dirty backdrop of greed and the deceit of commercial medicine.

Whether it be a reformist or a revolutionary, a person is interested primarily in the business to which he is attached. If this matter is true in principle and great in purpose, if it is as deep in its law of action as majestic in its conception, if it saves a person from mistakes, then the person who claims attention is protected by his own dignity. For as truth makes men, so they grow in proportion to the light reflected by the work they serve. The more a person is committed to the truth, the more he becomes. Therefore, as soon as he follows certain principles, his greatness grows. The figure of Dr. Shelton, thanks to his adherence to the truth, was so exalted that for all students, patients, associates and supporters, he became almost a hero. Students and followers constantly catch his thoughts to get his opinion on any issue. Only a few, like him, understand the principles of Natural Hygiene.

Even at the beginning of his career, he was aware of the great need for teaching the right way of life. “Perhaps,” he said, “the greatest need of our age is a true knowledge of the physiology of our body and the laws that govern life, health, and disease.” It is regrettable that people die from violating the simple laws of life, when even a little knowledge of biological laws would not only prevent them from becoming the prey of earthworms ahead of time, but would make their life joyful and more meaningful. Every day the cries of millions ascend to heaven, because of their ignorance they violate the laws of life. Many, though aware of them and the need to observe them, suffer from a lack of courage and self-control to change their way of life.

Long ago Dr. Shelton understood what still thousands of people involved in the Natural Hygiene movement still do not understand – that what Graham called “drug cult” should not be introduced into the environment of hygienists. Hence, all his efforts and goals were directed to teaching the common people a better way of life in order to free them from the influence of “drug pushers”. He said that education should be carried out outside the schools, not only because “the physiological and medical departments of modern universities and colleges are designed to inculcate the art of constantly ignoring what everyone knows,” but also because it is impossible for teachers in our institutes to speak and write objectively about a subject whose superiority would undermine the special group interests that support the institutions from which teachers receive their salaries. ” of those who were firm in their convictions, but tired of keeping beautiful truths to themselves, left the teaching profession.Rejoicing in the return of their own health, they sought to publicly bring knowledge to suffering humanity, especially adolescents, so that they could prevent their suffering from a wrong image life, but was and broken by the mighty of this world.

❶ Is meat a potato? Tips for losing weight :: JustLady.ru

The system of separate nutrition, invented by the American nutritionist Herbert Shelton, has caused a lot of controversy since its inception. Someone believes that the principles of separate nutrition are true and useful, while someone is categorically against it. So what is the meat of potatoes – a friend or not?

According to the theory of separate nutrition, foods containing carbohydrates, proteins and fats should be consumed at different times, because. for each of them, the body produces its own enzymes. Shelton called sandwiches with sausage and side dishes with meat the main enemies of mankind. People who adhere to separate nutrition believe that if you combine products according to Shelton’s theory, then the work of the pancreas will improve, metabolism will improve, a person will lose weight and feel a surge of vitality and energy.

What combinations of products are recommended and prohibited by the principles of separate nutrition? Starchy foods (bread, cereals, potatoes, pasta) should be consumed separately from protein foods (fish, meat, eggs, nuts, cheese).

But starchy foods go well with fats. Those. potatoes with bacon and a sandwich with butter are quite acceptable for this diet. In addition, according to Shelton’s theory, there are a number of neutral foods that are combined with all three groups – these are vegetables and fruits, except for potatoes and bananas (which belong to the group of starchy foods).

Opponents of separate meals see a number of errors in this theory. For example, they rightly believe that the body of a hungry person, producing gastric juice, does not know what products he will have to assimilate. And, therefore, it is preparing to receive both protein, and fatty, and carbohydrate foods. And if you stick to a separate diet for a long time, the body will forget how to digest mixed food. In addition, pure proteins, fats and carbohydrates practically do not exist in nature, and most products are a mixture of them.

In addition, it is the intake of both proteins and carbohydrates into the body at the same time that causes the formation of “happiness hormones” – dopamine and serotonin. And the bad mood of dieters is connected precisely with the separation of proteins and carbohydrates.

True, even opponents of separate nutrition admit that such a system helps to lose weight. True, they associate this not with the separation of proteins, fats and carbohydrates, but with the use of a large number of fresh vegetables, which create a feeling of satiety, cleanse the blood of cholesterol and contain a minimum of calories.
