Demographics

According to the 1st Census, Lake Placid had a population of 1,878 people, 395 families, 646 households, and 776 residences. The average population density was about one person per square kilometer. The racial composition of the settlement was distributed as follows: 76.38% white, 9.95% Black or African American, 0.90% Native American, 0. 66% Asian, 1.68% mixed race, 10.43% other ethnicities. Hispanics made up 30.46% of all residents.
