RAEX ranked the best Russian schools
April 21, 2020, 07:13
/TASS/. The RAEX rating agency has compiled an annual rating of the top 100 schools in Russia in terms of the competitiveness of graduates, exactly half of them are located in Moscow and the Moscow region, followed by St. Petersburg and Tatarstan, the agency’s press service told TASS.
“The list of the 100 best schools in Russia includes educational institutions from 26 regions of the country. At the same time, exactly half of the participants – 50 – are in Moscow and the Moscow region, followed by St. Petersburg (nine schools), the Republic of Tatarstan (five), Novosibirsk and Chelyabinsk regions (four each). The preponderance of schools from the metropolitan region in the ranking has slightly decreased: there were 54 of them in the top 100 last year,” the press service said. nine0003
The first three places in the ranking were taken by the Specialized Educational and Scientific Center named after A. N. Kolmogorov (SSC MGU), the Moscow Lyceum “Second School” and the Chelyabinsk Physics and Mathematics Lyceum No. 31. The top 10 of the ranking also included the University Gymnasium of Moscow State University named after M. V. Lomonosov (MGU), Republican Lyceum for gifted children from Saransk, Presidential Physics and Mathematics Lyceum No. 239 from St. Kapitsa from Dolgoprudny, Physics and Mathematics School No. 2007 from Moscow, Vologda Multidisciplinary Lyceum and Moscow School in the South-West No. 1543.
“In the top 100 of the RAEX rating, the number of schools focused on working with talented children is growing. Such elite educational institutions are more and more successfully relegating mass schools, “schools for all”, to the background. schools were universities that created sponsored structures, today authorities are also showing attention to the development of elite schools,” said Dmitry Grishankov, director general of the agency, quoted by the press service. nine0003

After the pandemic, online education will not be the same. How will it change?
RAEX also presented a list of 300 leading schools in terms of the absolute number of enrolled in the leading Russian universities. It is clarified that the schools in the list are ranked without adjusting for the number of graduating classes. Thus, the largest supplier of students to the leading domestic universities is the National Research University Higher School of Economics Lyceum, the second and third positions are occupied by the Bauman Engineering School No. 1580 and the Specialized Research Center of Moscow State University. nine0003
Ratings by areas of study
In addition, the agency compiled ratings of schools that most effectively prepare students for entering universities in the integrated areas of study. These are “Economics and Management”, “Technical, Natural Sciences and Exact Sciences”, “Social and Humanitarian Directions” and “Medicine”. The lists include schools whose graduates most successfully enter the top 50 Russian universities from the RAEX rating for the areas of the corresponding profile.
It is noted that the presented rankings reflect the significant impact of universities on school education in Russia. So, for the second year in a row, all first places were taken by schools at universities. STSC MSU remained the leader in the field of “Technical, natural sciences and exact sciences”. In the field of “Economics and Management” the first place was taken by the Economic Lyceum of the Russian Economic University. G. V. Plekhanov. Future physicians are best prepared by the Medical Sechenov Pre-University. And the Pre-University of Moscow State Linguistic University (MSLU) was recognized as the best school, whose graduates are most successful in the field of “Social and Humanitarian Sciences”. nine0003
About the methodology
Rankings are based on exclusive data on the admission campaigns of the country’s leading universities in 2018 and 2019. The data was obtained from all participants in the top 50 ranking of Russian universities RAEX, except for the Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia and the Moscow State Pedagogical University. For the calculation, information was processed on the admission of about 190 thousand graduates from more than 18 thousand Russian schools.
