 Sunny day
Sweeping the clouds away
On my way to where the air is sweet
Can you tell me how to get
How to get to sesame street

Cake by Sodough Baking Co

Sunny days will be made even brighter with great party decorations, favors, colorful food tables, cake, and party game ideas you can find right here.

Sesame Street Tip 1:

Decorations

I found this fabulous, durable backdrop from Amazon. Oscar’s Garbage Can

I found these adorable plates, cups, and napkins here. I also purchased Harper’s Sesame Street invitations here.

Hey girl, you’re killing it. So keep going.

Tip 2:

Cake

I ordered the Cookie Monster cake from our local bakery, Sodough Baking Co. It was a hit! The cake was filled with edible cookie dough. It was a pregnant chicks dream!

Tip 3:

Activities

Watercolor books are AMAZING. I found them at the Dollar Tree and set them up for each kid that they would eventually take home. I had a paintbrush and a bowl of water nearby. Surprisingly, the two-year-olds were very gentle dipping their brushes in water and we only had one spill.

I also had playdough on the table to entertain the toddlers and crayons and paper. I placed a 6-foot table on the ground without opening the legs and had towels for little seats. It worked out perfectly.

FEED COOKIE MONSTER was a hit. My family’s a big corn-hole playing gang and my dad made our boards as gifts over the year. I decorated a cookie monster poster and taped him on the board. The kids thought it was pretty funny to feed the Cookie monster. And I was pretty impressed with some of their aims.

Bubbles are the perfect treat for a toddler birthday party. All of the parents and kids moved to the grass as the sun came out and blew bubbles and chased each other. It was adorable.

Tip 4: Time

After reading numerous blog posts on two-year-old birthday parties and knowing my toddler so well; I determined the safest and most ideal time for a 2-year-old birthday party was from 10:00 am-12:00 pm. It was perfect! Every kid was gone by noon and back home for a nap.

Tip 5:

Food

I found these Elmo juice boxes at Publix, our grocery store. I “attempted” to make a fruit platter that resembled Elmo out of strawberries, blueberries, an orange, cool whip inside Comotomo nipples from Harper’s bottles.

While most parties are usually filled with lots of sugary treats, we all know what that does to a group of toddlers. Try to even out your food display with some healthier food options that still fit the colorful palette of Elmo’s neighborhood such a colorful fruit and veggies.

I picked up bagels and cream cheese and a carton of coffee for the parents and kids the morning before the party. We served juice and water as well. Easy. I found these beautiful flowers at Trader Joes.

Tip 6:

Goody Bags

Thank your guests with memorable party favors!  Toddler’s parents will welcome your careful thought to age-appropriate party favors.

Inside of the goody bags I put sesame street utensils, flashcards, and an Elmo figurine, and playdough. I found ALL of these at the Dollar Tree; including the blue bags. I printed characters from Sesame Street and taped them to the bags. I easily printed the children’s names on my label maker to help identify the gift bags.

We had two babies attend the party so I found an Elmo bottle, a bottle brush and a teething ring at the Dollar Tree as well.

Planning a birthday party for a child who hasn’t started school yet might seem strange because they haven’t had an opportunity to meet any classmates or make any real connections yet. It’s ok. Actually, according to PBS, for a four-year-old, a friend may be a regular playmate or a child they just met at the park. At this age, kids may be able to engage in cooperative play, but they are still developing the ability to understand other perspectives. So, having friends at their party, or a lack of them, isn’t that big of a deal.

Inviting family members is a possibility to fill up the guest list. Or, mom and dad’s friends could come over. If their friends have kids, even if they aren’t the same age, they could come along too. If neither of those are an option, never fear. There are still a lot of ways to make the day special for a little one.

With no friends yet to invite, bringing a child to a busier park in the area might be a good idea. This way they can work on socialization skills, meet some children, and play with them for the afternoon. Parents might even want to pack a picnic lunch to bring along with some birthday treats and/or balloons to make it festive.

This is another great opportunity for a child to socialize and make friends while having a ton of fun. Gymnastics gyms have a lot of equipment and fun things to do. Most times they have a particular time when they host an open gym for children to come in and play around or practice. This would be a fun learning experience and a great day for a young child.

Trampoline parks are so popular these days and for good reason. They are a ton of fun! They have activities for practically all ages. Going there allows the child to interact with other children as well. It would make for a great fun-filled afternoon.

If family and friends are coming over to celebrate, renting an inflatable is a great option. This allows the birthday child and any other children who show up to keep themselves busy doing something they don’t get to do all the time. Having a cookout makes for an easy and affordable meal plan to go with it.

Full of Heart Mommy suggests having your child go on a small adventure to look for their birthday present. The idea is, to begin with, the birthday breakfast, and during that time, you give your child the first clue about where their birthday present may be. Ask your child to solve a few riddles or answer a few questions, so they can have an idea of the location of their gift and find it.

To make the birthday party more interesting and enjoyable, you can offer face painting as well! Adults and children alike can participate in this type of birthday, so even without friends there, it will be a good time.

3 Zoo Party

Taking your child to the zoo for the day is a great way to celebrate their big day. Children can go all over and explore, seeing all the different animals. Watching their faces light up when seeing these big animals in person is totally worth it.

2 Camping In The Backyard

CREATOR: gd-jpeg v1.0 (using IJG JPEG v80), quality = 90

The Spruce has a great list of fun ideas for your little one. Camping in the backyard is one of them.

Pack up the family and head outside. Pitch a tent right in your own backyard. Another option is to rent an RV for the weekend and head to the local campground. The time your family spends without tablets and phones is quality time. You can’t put a price on it. You’ll spend your weekend playing board games, roasting marshmallows by the campfire, and enjoying the great outdoors together.

1 Decorate The Entire House & Do An Interview

Just because there won’t be a big party, doesn’t mean you have to skip the decorations. Your child can wake up to a birthday wonderland! Hanging banners, curling streamers, and tons of balloons will bring excitement to the day right from the start.

When the little superstar is ready for their interview, parents can sit down and ask whatever questions they would like—keeping note of all their answers or doing a video. What’s great about this is that it can be a continued tradition for years to come. Comparing answers from 4 years old to 14 years old should be interesting to see.

Theme parties

There are many classifications in the world that allow you to combine several topics under the “wing” of one style. But we, at Dikmi, profess our own festive philosophy, and, guided by our own experience, we offer you a unique, inimitable (and the first of its kind!) systematization of fashionable holiday trends. Your attention – the first five popular and rated party styles!

PARTY STYLES AND EXAMPLES

1. Action (style of action, dynamics, adventure)

Drive, superpowers, adrenaline over the edge. Fights, chases, passion and love in its most violent, violent manifestation. Shootouts, the line between life and death, walking on the edge of the abyss, the steel of voice, decisions and muscles – all this is an action style for your party!

Do you love Hollywood movies with just such a picture on the screen? Try to recreate something similar at home! And here are some very popular themes that can easily be used as the basis for the scenario of your holiday.

Cowboys of the Wild West

Strong, tanned, commanding men, sipping whiskey and eating entrecote. Texas shepherds who know no fear and conquer the hearts of blond, tender women with just a glance. Everything is available to them, there would be a desire to conquer! The theme goes well with rodeo-style games, horse racing, marksmanship, quizzes on the knowledge of America and its traditions, etc. The variety of possible costumes is surprising – from a simple cowboy hat and neckerchief, to a full uniform, including wide leather pants, a holster and boots with spurs.

For whom can such a holiday be organized? For a girl who dreams of a real man as a birthday present, for a brave guy, friend and girlfriend who does not tolerate gender differences.

James Bond

His smile, just like a strong character, cannot be forgotten by any woman! His ability to shoot and come out unscathed from any trouble admires many men. Women dream of being in his bed, men want to imitate him. Enemies – sleep and see him in the realm of the dead. James Bond. Agent 007. The love of an entire cinematic era and, of course, the cornerstone of action-packed parties. What could be interesting about this theme for a party?

Stylish suits, gallant men claiming the title of “Best Bond of the era” at the end of the evening, gunfights and hostage-taking stunts. Staged theatrical games, reincarnations for speed and competitions in the art of seduction. And also – good champagne, “secret” food and surprises in the most unexpected places. Of course, with the signature: “Your James Bond”!

Superheroes

Yes Yes! A generation has already grown up in love with the first screened Superman, Spider-Man, Catwoman and Batman! Has grown up, but so wants to return to the days of carefree comics that were read in one breath. In the days of good films, confirming the triumph of good and justice over evil. In times of such paranormal love of ordinary girls for unearthly heroes who can rotate the planet with one hand!

A superhero party hosted at home is: hand-drawn decorations in the form of high-rise buildings, unusual competitions in throwing lightning and getting the moon out of the sky, space drinks and arm wrestling between tough guys who claim to be the main superhero of this world and time!

Military

For everyone who is not indifferent to the war! Yard war, clan war, computer screen war and movie war. A military-style party is full of adrenaline, the excitement of battle and victory, adventure and the strictest discipline in half with strict observance of ranks and hierarchy. There is everything here: from the drill on the parade ground, games to pass the obstacle course, the release of hostages, to a real battle and “Smuglyanka” in the garden. And also – black bread with water, the most delicious field porridge in the world and one hundred grams of front-line.

A military-style party is a good gift for the anniversary of a grandfather who fought on the front of the Great Patriotic War, dad, husband, even a son who is passionate about military strategies. Read more about the holiday in this direction, “Party in military style.”

pirate Party

At one time, many were in a hurry to conquer the seas and rob peaceful sailors. But only the legendary pirates of the Caribbean have gained true pirate glory! They are not to be counted. Their names have become legends, and overgrown with terrible fables, forcing even the most daring to shudder. Stories, novels, adaptations about them do not know the account. Exactly the same as the number of people who want to imitate them in their hearts is enormous!

If you also miss the free spirit of the seas, the adrenaline of sea hand-to-hand battles and skirmishes from real ship cannons, treasure hunts and stolen kisses of hot beauties – the Pirates of the Caribbean theme is just for your party! Decor, costumes, performances and competitions for this holiday of maritime willfulness, we picked up truly amazing! Come in! We share for free! Pirate Party!

2.

Festival

The festival (in its dictionary meaning) is a mass holiday (most often in the open air) in which everyone can take part. And this means that it is impossible to find a more suitable style for a grandiose, large-scale corporate party! After all, the festival is essentially a colorful show, rich in costumes, music, fireworks, light and smiles. There are also plenty of examples of specific themes for a festival-style party. After all, about two dozen new festivals are held annually on the planet, which you can (and should!) imitate at home!

mexican fiesta

Have you decided to celebrate the New Year of your life by radically reincarnating? But so far, unfortunately, do not know where to start? And how do you like the idea of learning how to dance flamenco, cook several dishes from fatty tropical caterpillars, wear a sombrero as a headdress, and sandals as shoes? And all these uncompromising experiments on yourself can be confirmed by breaking an earthen vessel for good luck? Like? Of course, it is better to do all this not alone, but in the company of like-minded people who want to change with you! And – during a hot Mexican party saturated with passionate music, the love of sultry machos and the hottest chili pepper in the world! Hurry, it’s time to start the festival!

Oktoberfest

Do you adore good German beer and do not have a soul in grilled, fragrant Bavarian sausages? But besides this, do you still like to drink beer in the sincere company of bosom friends? Then – there will be no better party theme for you than to arrange a beer festival in the style of the real, famous German Oktoberfest!

Oscar (film festival)

In principle, the festival is not only an uncontrollable fun party with a sea of alcohol and passionate dances. A festival can be a very sophisticated and aesthetic event. If your future guests respect harmony and taste in everything, invite them to participate in an Oscar-style party. Red carpet, chic dresses, expensive jewelry, lots of champagne and light flirting – isn’t Hollywood at its best? For more on possible entertainment for the Oscar-winning festival, read Hollywood Style Party.

3. Retro

What is retro style? This is all that breathes antiquity on us, resonates in the soul with nostalgia and results in a fictional story with a time machine. Would you like to return to the times of the destroyed USSR and try real Red Moscow sweets? Or maybe you would like to visit the prehistoric world of dinosaurs? Or – to be captured by cavemen who are already in a hurry to eat you for lunch? Or – to dance at the ball of Marie Antoinette? Or will he fight in the armor of a medieval knight in a tournament for the right to kiss a beautiful lady? All this is retro style. All these are themes for chic parties. Retro style can also be attributed to all the costume reincarnations in people of the last century – 20,30,50 … 90 years.

A couple of more specific examples.

Party style 80

Acid, bright colors, the desire to be different from others, outrageousness and a sea of underground alcohol – all this is the favorite of the 80s! And also – a good disco from a cassette player on his shoulder, unbridled love, sex and soft drugs. Many of today’s respectable adults are in their 80s, and they’ll probably want to turn back time and be there as a birthday present for themselves!

New Year in the USSR

Perhaps there was no more beloved holiday in the Soviet Union than the New Year! Therefore, it is better to try to implement the style of the USSR at a holiday in honor of the New Year. Blue lights, chic tables, a central Christmas tree and champagne to the chimes. But the meeting of the Old Year with the New is a magical time that allows you to turn back time for a moment! Make a wish and give yourself a party in the style of the USSR for the upcoming New Year! And if, suddenly, you don’t remember how everything was then and don’t know what to do with your guests at this holiday, read the hint “Back to the USSR, or a New Year’s party in retro style.”

4. Vintage

A separate retro style direction can be called vintage, which is now popular. Its important distinguishing feature from classic retro is that it involves the use of only authentic items with a clearly marked fashion word, style, ornament of the chosen era. As a rule, they are an object of collecting, a certain way of investing money and indicate a high level of chic. So, not everyone and not always can afford to embody this trend in its pure form in a holiday.

What specific topic can be called a stylish word “vintage”? For example, a party in the style of disco, in the style of the Sicilian mafia or in the style of jazz, beloved by many generations.

gangsters

The powers that be have always attracted attention. Especially if the life of the strong almost always smells of blood, gunpowder, drugs and huge money. Especially if their life smells of violent passion, undisguised eroticism, cancan, glitter of jewelry, cigar smoke. The powerful of this world in the 20-30s of the last century were by no means kings and presidents. Strong were the tough gangsters, who hugged the girl’s waist and the barrel of a rifle with the same fury. It was a long time ago in Chicago…

Well, today it can become a hit for your entire personal holiday season, if you dare to repeat that era at home! For tips on organizing a house gangster party, and authentic things to stock up for the holiday, look at Gangster Style Party.

The Beatles

The British Fab Four have kept rock ‘n’ roll fans in a state of awe, suspense and worship for over 50 years. And this state of mind does not stop even the fact that the musical group as such has not existed since 1970 years! Gorgeous music, unique style and life philosophy of the Beatles (with the peculiarities of their behavior, gastronomic preferences, etc. ) should certainly become a good foundation for a holiday! Well, the owners of unique things that have ever come into contact with the life of the band members should be in the spotlight this evening!

dudes

Who doesn’t remember those checkered tight pants, yellow tie and chic, sparkly and bright dresses? They are staffers (as they called themselves), dudes (as everyone around them called them in a whisper) were not afraid to bring a little color, slang and outrageous joy into the measured life of the stiff country of the Soviets. Romance late 19The 40s – early 1960s still keep many people awake! And dancing (jitterbug, boogie-woogie, lindy-hop, slow-fox) and jazz of that turbulent era can make a real festival out of the simplest and most uncomplicated holiday! However, for the sake of courage, you can play a performance in which the party of dudes is “covered” by Soviet warriors … And this is a completely new turn of events!

5.

Glamor

Glamor is a generalized concept of luxury, beauty, chic, external brilliance. Especially – pretentious female beauty, sophistication, romance and respect for money. After all, in principle, only a well-groomed woman dressed in expensive, branded clothes can look glamorous. As for glamor as a party style, it involves a somewhat outrageous manner of conducting a holiday, brilliance and a mandatory dress code for all guests.

But, in principle, under the tag “glamor” you can combine several diverse directions of parties: Hollywood (as a secular party, where everyone comes to show off a new outfit and a well-groomed, white-toothed smile “Hollywood Style Party”), spa party (as a purely female magical beauty laboratory that will ensure the appearance of a lady on the red carpet of glamor in the near future), a foam party (as a challenge to the golden, “glamorous” youth of social rules).

Breakfast at Tiffany’s

The popular Hollywood film about the touching, incredibly naive and beautiful, romantic and mysterious girl Holly Golightly (starring with Audrey Hepburn) won Russian hearts so much that one of the domestic billionaires even bought the script of the film! Although, according to experts, the crazy popularity of the picture was brought not even by the main character herself, but by the style that she brought with her to the masses. The combination of blue, black and white was a hit in the 60s. At the peak of popularity, this range is still! Girls in a black cocktail dress, with blue manicure and in the same hat, with a mouthpiece in an exquisite handle adorned with diamonds, are considered queens of glamor! And how they know how to hold a glass of champagne, these hands! How beautifully they eat cakes with airy, orange cream!

You can see all this, and even become “queens of grace” yourself, once organizing a party in the genre of the cinematic “Breakfast at Tiffany’s”.

Moulin rouge

The famous French cabaret “Moulin Rouge” with the queen of sophistication and real French frankness Satin in the heart, still makes the blood run faster in the veins of men! Even today her voice is the personification of tragic, passionate, impossible and so desired love! A green absinthe, served back in 1889year for the first time in the “Red Mill” – the embodiment of men’s tears for a pipe dream! A party in the style of Moulin Rouge is for those who can afford a holiday with chic, scope and pomposity.
