    History

    Melnitsa-Podilskaya , (Melnitsa-on-the-Dniester until 1940), spreading its territory on the left bank of the Dniester – an urban-type settlement of the Chortkovsky district of the Ternopil region. The first mention of a village called Melnitsa dates back to the 11th century. And already under the name Melnitsa-nad-Dniester, the village is mentioned in historical sources of the beginning of the 17th century. as a possession of the Lyantskoronsky magnates. The origin of the name of the village is as follows: on the slopes near the Dniester, in ancient times there were windmills. And to the present, the place where they were is called Mlynivka – hence the nominal part of the complex toponym, and Podolskaya – distinguishes it from other Mills. There were also water mills, and not simple ones, but floating in the form of rafts, fixed with ropes in the middle of the Dniester!

    It is likely that the construction of the castle began here in the XII century. From 1362, the Mill-Podolskaya was the property of the Koriatoviches, from the end of the 16th century. – Lyantskoronsky, and already in the XVIII century. – Dunin-Borkovsky. The village survived the devastating attacks of the Tatar hordes in 1615 and 1672. The Magdeburg Law and the right to hold fairs every two weeks were given to Melnitsa-Podolskaya in 1767, and five years later it became the county town of the Zalishchytsky district. Since 1867, the city went to Borshchevsky district.

    The events of the world wars did not bypass Melnitsa-Podolsky. From September 1920, the town fell under the rule of Poland and became the center of the commune of the Borshchiv district of the Ternopil voivodeship. In 1935, the city experienced a big fire (dozens of houses burned down). In September 1939, Melnitsa-Podolskaya was occupied by Soviet troops. During July 1941 – April 1944 the city was occupied by Nazi troops. The status of an urban-type settlement Melnitsa-Podolskaya was granted in 1960. Currently, Melnitsa-Podolskaya is one of the historical settlements of Ukraine.

    Tourism, monuments

    Mill-Podilskaya tourist – these are primarily architectural monuments of local importance: the Church of St. Michael (1722, restored in 1989) and the Church of St. Henry (1861). Also in the village you can see such monuments of architecture, monumental art, history and nature as the former building of the Sokol society (19th century, now here is a house of culture), the Dunin-Borkovsky family tomb (XIX – XX centuries), the building of the People’s schools (early XX century), old Polish (Roman Catholic) cemetery, old Jewish cemetery (fragments), a monument in honor of Adam Mickiewicz, a kamenitsa of the early XX century, a mass grave (1953), monuments to fellow villagers who fell in the German-Soviet war (1957) and Taras Shevchenko (1995), memorial crosses in honor of the abolition of serfdom (1990) and victims of Stalinist repressions (1991) ), a symbolic grave of the USS, commemorative crosses of the Cossack times (XVII-XVIII centuries, on the site where the defensive castle once stood), the park of the Dunin-Borkovsky estate (ash-tree has been growing here for about 300 years, white poplar for more than 200 years and birch more than 100 years old), three-stemmed oaks (near the village in the forest, more than 150 years old), Melnitsa-Podilsky wall (on an area of 5 hectares, typical rocky and meadow-steppe vegetation is protected, in particular, the six-petalled viper and bluebells are valuable Blotsky).

    Locals You will be fed tasty local delicacies and provided with accommodation for the night. The provincial peace of Melnitsa-Podolskaya can be stirred up by hang gliding athletes who have chosen the Dniester steeps for flights. In the course of the decentralization reform, the Mill became the center of a large territorial community (the entire southeast of the former Borshchiv district), covering about two dozen villages and being an incredible treasury of both natural and architectural and historical sights. And the very next day you can go to the east, because the legendary Khotyn and Kamenetz-Podolsky are nearby! Have a nice trip to these territories!

    Using the technology of project activities in extracurricular activities (on the example of the project “In Search of the Mill”)

    The main idea of the project is centered around the trestle mill –
    an integral part of the history of the village of Ulakhan-Kyuel and our republic
    generally.

    Any teacher, when organizing extracurricular activities, must
    based on the desires and abilities of students. At the heart of the story
    the creation of this project is a class hour dedicated to the Day
    Statehood of the Russian Federation (December 12, 2015).
    When the question came about the symbols of the state, republic, ulus and
    village, the children stated the fact that the coat of arms, the flag of the village
    Ulakhan-Kyuel contain an image of a mill. Developing your
    thought, added that one single street bears the name
    “Melnitskaya”, in the anthem of the village there are the words “mielinseleeh kardalym”.
    Of course, they had the question “Where is the mill?”. After all, neither
    the building itself, nor its remains are not here. Working for the second year
    I, to my shame, was not aware of this issue either. So
    the idea of creating the project “In Search of the Mill” was born.

    I, as a class teacher, strive to ensure that everyone
    the child has developed the totality of his abilities in
    in accordance with the requirements of federal state
    educational standards so that the child is the creator of developed
    forms of communication. Research and creative work of students
    allows them to be interested participants in the process
    education. Creation of the e-book “In Search of the Mill”,
    short feature film about the mill and
    research work “History of the mill-trestle bed of the village
    Ulakhan-Kyuel” fully implements the principle: “History for
    children and the hands of children, ”transferring the main center of gravity from
    the process of perception to the process of creation. As a result
    constant work on the creation of a product of their activity
    there is a socialization of children on the basis of pedagogical
    cooperation between students, teachers and parents in the system
    student self-government, expansion of interdepartmental relations
    with extracurricular institutions. The products of our project must
    be a gift from our class to the school, in honor of the construction of its
    new building.

    “Ulakhan-Kүöl baai historylaah, nomohho kiirbit
    donnordoh, kere ayyl5alaah, sakha haannaah bylyr-bylyrgyttan
    sobuleen olokhsuybut tuөlbete” (E.A.Borisov)

    The village of Ulakhan-Kyuel has a rich history. During WWII to the front
    54 people were called up, 28 of them returned.
    and raised their children by 7 heroine mothers. This is the cradle
    childhood for many prominent figures of our republic: 7 scientists in
    various fields of science, famous teachers, honored
    national economy workers, etc. At the time of consolidation
    many families moved to other settlements, so in
    only small fragments of history have been preserved in the memories of the inhabitants
    villages. Mainly from 1970s. Restore and save
    history is the duty of the current generation, which studies and works
    now. And we developed this project as a tribute to the place that
    turned out to be a second home for me and my students.

    Purpose of this project:

    • Research and perpetuation of the history of the native village;
    • Create an e-book and short
      feature film about the historical object of the village
      Ulakhan-Kyuel;
    • formation of creative and research
      student activity through project activities.

    Implementation of the project allows to solve a number of tasks:

    • formation of general educational, regulatory, communicative
      competencies of students through project activities.
    • teaching schoolchildren a sense of citizenship and
      patriotism, pride in belonging to one’s nation, pride
      for your people;
    • study of the role of the trestle mill, its significance and influence on
      the formation of self-awareness of residents;
    • development of creativity;
    • familiarization with the history and culture of their people;
    • research historical and local lore, creative
      Job.

    This project is expected to be completed from December 2016.
    to December 2017.

    Each student at the beginning of work on the project is given his
    project diary. In the diary, the student records all activities
    throughout the entire project, including all stages of work
    over the project. This contributes to the formation of regulatory
    competencies: planning, comparison, analysis of
    activities.

    During the main stages of the project for each student
    the assessment form is filled in according to the method of N.A. Silicheva specified
    in the work “Assessing the level of formation of competencies
    students when applying the method of educational projects. This allows
    monitor the development of students in the course of work on
    project, hence the success of the project itself.

    Cooperation in the implementation of the project

    Estimated results:

    • formation of educational, regulatory, communicative
      competencies of students through project activities.
    • study of the role of the trestle mill, its significance and influence on
      the formation of the historical self-awareness of the inhabitants;
    • development of creativity;
    • familiarization with the history and culture of their small homeland;
    • research historical and local history work;

    End products:

    • mill model;
    • e-book “In Search of the Mill”;
    • research work “History of the trestle mill
      Ulakhan-Kuelum village”, “Doydum Ulakhan-Kuelum historical
      paamatynygyn uyetitii”;

      uyetity.”
    5. Family project “Doydum Ulakhan-Kuelum historical
      paamatynygyn uyetitii”.

    Assessment of the level of formation of key
    competencies of students in assessing the project
    activities

    GEF of the new generation requires the use in educational
    process of activity-type technologies, and methods and techniques
    design and research activities are defined as one of
    conditions for the implementation of the main educational program of the general
    education. Project activities contribute to the formation
    key competencies of students, preparing them for real
    living conditions.

    Competences represent such quality characteristics
    training students who are difficult to measure.
    The difficulty here is that competence cannot be
    interpreted as the sum of subject knowledge and skills.

    For successful self-realization, a graduate of a modern school must
    possess a number of key competencies. Project activity
    provides excellent opportunities for the formation of 3
    key competencies – problem solving (independence),
    information competence, communicative competence.

    Requirements and criteria for assessing the level of maturity
    key competencies of students to assess the project
    activities

    Requirements are grouped according to the list of key
    competencies into three sections: “Problem Solving”,
    “Working with information”, “Communication
    “. Inside them on
    the basis of the type of activity in which they should manifest themselves in
    First of all, the elements of competencies are set.

    The levels of formation of key competencies are highlighted
    according to the age of the students. For each level are given
    indicators of the development of a particular competence at the entrance
    (qualitative change compared to the previous level) and on
    output (increasing the share of student autonomy, or
    complication of the mode of activity, the possession of which he
    must demonstrate). It is assumed that the first level
    mastered by students in elementary school, the second – in grades 5-7,
    third – at 8-9grades, the fourth – at the senior level.

    Requirements for the level of formation of key competencies
    students are specified in the criteria for evaluation and are assigned to
    individual elements of competence – a group of complex
    integrated skills. Criteria are for binary
    grades (yes/no).

    Requirements for the level of formation of key
    competencies in assessing the project activities of students and
    evaluation criteria, presented in the form of tables, will allow you to give
    quality assessment of student progress.

    Evaluation forms allow you to fix the level of the student according to
    every criterion. This takes into account that for some
    components of a particular competence, the student may be
    at a higher or lower level than the one he
    shows in general. Thus, scorecards
    allow you to mark the progress of the student, the main gaps and
    success in mastering a particular mode of activity, including
    indicators of the previous and subsequent levels in relation to
    the one on which the student of that
    or any other level of education.

    There is space on the assessment form for the teacher to
    recorded the assistance provided to the student in the course of work on
    project. This is of fundamental importance, since the transition
    student to a new level of mastery of competence, or
    advancement within a level is often associated with an increase in its
    independence in the framework of project activities.

    The objects of assessment are the portfolio of project activities
    student, as well as observing the presentation of the product, work
    group and consultation. When assessing, the teacher uses
    only one form.

    If necessary, the proposed scoring system can
    be correlated with a five-point mark, while it is recommended
    focus on the total score and take as the basis for the exposure
    grades personal advancement of the student compared to
    previous stage of the project.

    Conclusion

    This project is based on the principle: “We study. Explore. We create»
    and is aimed at the assimilation of value orientations by students,
    related to the historical and cultural heritage of the village
    Ulakhan-Kyuel; project implementation includes vital
    situations with choice and decision-making, utterance
    own opinion, contribute to the development of communicative
    skills and literacy of students.

    In conclusion, I would like to quote a publicist and
    journalist, pedagogy theorist Simon Lvovich Soloveichik:
    « The teacher is not an intermediary between the world and children, no, he is on
    side of the children, he is with them and at their head.
