Sunny Daycare

We found Melba after we had a bad experience at another daycare and I thank God that we did. She’s been amazing and has watched my son since he was 9 months old. She has loved him like he was her own. He has learned so much at her home and he is ready to start kindergarten thanks to her. She has thepatience of a saint and does so many fun activities with the kids. My little guy loves coming home telling me everything they did that day, showing me his artwork and letting me know what he ate (he even tells me what she makes better than I do). The communication is open on both ends and I have never felt safer leaving him with anyone else. She has become a member of our family and we will miss seeing her everyday. If you’re looking for a nurturing place that is like a second home to your little one, run, don’t walk to Sunny Daycare!…

Sunny Daycare

Ms. Najma has become an extended member of our family over the last two years. We had never used a home daycare but discovered Sunny Daycare when looking for a new carer in July 2020, and were so happy that we did. We appreciated her loving attention to the children, how she played with them andtaught them life skills like cooking and gardening, and how she even did some pre-academic work with them, as well. There’s a good schedule of free play, learning time, fine motor work, and treats. She also worked hard on helping my two children learn skills like using the toilet and putting on their own shoes. We’re so grateful for Najma, and the safe, nurturing and fun environment she provides!…

7751 N. Nora, Niles, IL 60714

Starting at $20/day

Description:

My history of working with children is quite long. I have cared for babies up to teens. When working at a daycare site, I had the responsibility to care for more than one infant at a time in the nursery. Thisis when the differences in personalities, schedules, and needs are most closely observed. I have cared for babies who were colic, as well as a couple of babies who had special needs. These little ones, obviously away from their mothers, deserve lots of love and care to make them feel secure. I always strive to meet the needs of children as individuals, keeping the area around them as clean and safe as I possibly can.
Working for a fitness group in the playroom was quite an experience. Every day the number of children present was different. There were a variety of ages that I cared for here, from infants (we had two cribs) up to 9-year-olds. I cared for up to 10 at a time, always making sure that everyone was well cared for. I had some coloring, others playing games or blocks, and the babies would be held, one at a time. There were rarely any disputes over toys but occasionally, if this happened, I dealt with it in a calm, respectable manner. Teaching kids to act responsibly, and talk to each other in a calm fashion, I would gently talk to each of them about the situation. I have always taught children to “use their words” rather then their hands to address others.
I have taught tot classes. Sometimes little people don’t want to leave their mommy. So, in anticipation of this, I make the activities fun! The kids have a great time and they look forward to coming back! During each class, or visit with a child, it is just so important to me to plan activities that will touch on as many areas of growth that I can. It’s great when an activity like storytelling for example, can encapsulate children’s intellectual, social, and emotional needs. Sometimes stories add some physical movement which is an added bonus. I love to tell stories. Being a good storyteller is one of the ways that I like to get kids involved in the story. Using my own creativity, I have fun with kids by drawing on each child’s personal abilities. The creations that they can come up with are awesome!
Most recently, my experiences with children have been through our church, as well as the child that I care for weekly. Caring for children is what I was meant to do. Time that I spend with children is time well spent, and when a child smiles back at me, I know that they feel the same!. ..

About the book

Miles Murphy is moving. And not very happy about it. Because in his old school, Miles was one of the toughest pranksters. There was no equal to him in the draws. And they move to Sleepy Valley, the main attraction of which is cows! Not only does Miles expect nothing but boredom from a new place, it also turns out that he has a rival. Who will win?

“MAC BARNETT is a wonderful young author who writes books for children. If you haven’t read his book yet, run for the book and read it. His books for the younger generation have a brilliant and, I would say unlimited future, and do not listen to anyone who tells you otherwise. Mac Barnett’s book will take center stage in this borderless future.” (Dave Eggers)

“There is no magic key to solving any problem in Barnett’s books – his characters fight their way through dilemmas just like any of us. The world is difficult but beautiful to live in, and there is no need to put on the rose-colored glasses through which other books for children suggest looking at the world to protect them from the vicissitudes of life. (Yi Yun Li)

and a sloppy, Jonathan Swift-like ending, and that “life is absurd and kids know it.” (San Francisco Chronicle)
