Note on Deficiencies

Deficiencies are listed in broad categories and are available online for 36 months. We encourage you to contact your region office for an explanation of any of the deficiencies, or for additional information about this facility’s compliance. Resolved “On Site” means that a violation was resolved during the Licensing Specialist’s inspection.

Severity Levels

High:

These are the most serious violations of child care regulations and could pose a risk to the health and safety of children. If you would like an explanation of any of the deficiencies, or would like additional information about this facility’s compliance, please contact your regional office.

Medium:

These are significant violations of child care regulations and could negatively impact the health and safety of children. If you would like an explanation of any of the deficiencies, or would like additional information about this facility’s compliance, please contact your regional office.

Low:

These violations are the least likely to impact health and safety, but they still show that a facility is out of compliance with some child care regulations. If you would like an explanation of any of the deficiencies, or would like additional information about this facility’s compliance, please contact your regional office.

Note on Frequency of Inspections

Centers, Group Homes, and Licensed Family Homes::

In 2014, legislation was passed that changed the number of unannounced visits from two per year to one per year in Child Care Centers, Group Child Care Homes, and Licensed Family Child Care Homes. As a result of this new law, you may see a decrease in the number of deficiencies listed on this website for these types of providers. Unannounced visits are still made in response to a complaint, and visits are scheduled with the facility during the re-licensing process, which occurs every two years.

Registered Family Homes:

Most family homes are registered, not licensed. In 2014, legislation was passed that allows Child Care Licensing to make one unannounced visit to these homes each year. As a result of this new law, you may see an increase in the number of deficiencies listed on this website for Registered Family Child Care Homes. Unannounced visits are still made in response to a complaint. Click here for an overview of each facility and the requirements they must meet according to state law.

I am a stay at home mom that chose to start a small in home day care. I have a little girl who’s 3, and watch 2 other children. I only watch 4 children at a time including my own. We love to do creative crafts & enjoy outside play! I am CPR & First Aid certified, and have been caring for children for 10+ years. We have 1 dog (Siberian husky) and 2 cats (both declawed) all are fixed and put up the majority of the time that the children are here. My husband was in the military for 8 years, and got out for us to be closer to family, he still continues to do the National Guard.

Archpriest Vsevolod Chaplin, Chairman of the Synodal Department for Church and Society Relations: Temples are needed no less than schools, hospitals, kindergartens

: Churches are needed no less than schools, hospitals, kindergartens

Comment of the week

There is neither absolute evil nor absolute good. I will live like others. I will not think about my soul. Why is this all? In our society, many people are used to talking like this.

Attempts are being made to sharpen the discussion around the construction of new churches in Moscow and other cities, around the transfer of religious property to various religious communities, including, of course, the Orthodox Church.

On March 20, hearings were held in the Public Chamber under a superficially very neutral title, seemingly unrelated to the issue of building churches. The hearings were called as follows: “Issues of urban planning policy in the field of building parks and squares with capital objects.” It seems that it has nothing to do with the construction of temples and the disputes that are being waged around such construction. In fact, those who, moving from one district of Moscow to another, oppose the construction of churches under a variety of pretexts, initially wanted to come to the hearings in large numbers. Sometimes under the pretext that the temples will interfere with the locals due to the fact that, allegedly, there will be many coffins with the dead, a lot of bell ringing, a large crowd of people. Sometimes they try to justify protests against the construction of temples with environmental arguments. It is sometimes said that people do not need temples, meaning the majority of the population or even the entire population of a particular district, a particular urban area. These speeches have been heard for a long time, and they were all voiced again at hearings in the Public Chamber.

It must be said that the opponents of the construction of temples prepared quite well for the hearings – several dozen of them came. Very little was said beforehand that the neutrally titled hearings would actually be about building temples, but nonetheless, it was possible to find out in a week or so what real people were going to come to this event, and to achieve that about two dozen Orthodox believers, belonging to different professions, from different strata of society, were able to take part and speak.

I was the first to speak from those who do not support the rejection of temple building. And it must be said that the opponents of such construction, including people who were invited by political and politicized organizations, turned out to be very, very aggressive, they literally didn’t let me say a word, desperately clapped, shouted, that is, once again showed the extremely low level of their culture and extreme aggressiveness, the desire to do everything so that the voice of the Church, the voice of believers who aspire to have a church near their home, is not heard, so that this voice can scream, stomp, clap, shush. Today, fortunately, this does not work out, and society is increasingly beginning to learn the truth even when an organized campaign is being waged against the construction of temples.

It must be borne in mind that the people who are now against the construction of temples are, for the most part, not local residents. Yes, the locals come across. Usually this is a narrow group of 5-7-10, maybe 15 or even 20 people; all other (and most active) people are, as already mentioned, those who move from one area to another, those who establish contacts through social networks, where there is a small but very active group of citizens calling for a stop to temple construction everywhere , where it is being conducted using a variety of arguments, using legal balancing act and attempts to paint some kind of terrible picture of what the temple is like.

Let’s try to answer some of the arguments of those who oppose the construction of temples.

First: temples are destroyed green areas, trees are cut down to build them, people are not able to walk in the parks, people get some kind of closed areas where they can not spend leisure time, and all this destroys the possibilities for a normal life. In the cases that have been presented in the Public Chamber – except perhaps in one case – the arguments have been clearly falsified. We were shown a square in the center of which there is a concreted area not planted with trees, and for some reason at the same time they began to say that the appearance of a temple on this area not planted with trees would violate the integrity of green spaces. Obvious absurdity. (To be continued)

Archpastor

Bishop Kamensky and Alapaevsky Methodius: in working with people, God should be given the place of God

Continuation. Nachalov No. 18-19 (2014) – I think that in working with people we must give place to God – we cannot take on what does not belong to us. What is an announcement? This is when a person knows what to do when the Lord comes to him. That’s when a person is being prepared, for example, for a meeting with you, they explain how it will be, what you need to answer, how you need to sit – here I am being prepared for a meeting with the audience or some important person. This is how we are prepared to meet God. This is a kind of rehearsal of the meeting, but the meeting should be. If this is just a rehearsal, then this is an empty occupation, but there is hope that He will come anyway, because it is His desire to come to everyone. It is very important not to miss His coming, which, unfortunately, also happens, because He enters our life very tactfully, almost imperceptibly, and we just need to pay attention to His coming, not to miss this coming and know what to do when He comes .

Church and society

A believer will fill everything with faith

It just so happens that rap music is not for everyone’s ears. And certainly not for the ears of a believer. Sin, and only! And if I tell you that I have one good friend who not only reads rap, but also serves as the rector of the church in the Church? And not some kind of Lutheran or Protestant, but our Orthodox Mother Church. Although, of course, I went too far – he reads rap in his free time. As he himself says, this is his personal experiment in working with youth. Surprised? Then let me introduce you – Fr. Maxim Kurlenko, Rector of the Church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker, Cheboksary. Although Internet users and fans know him as the Rector.

Father Vsevolod Chaplin about dehumanization, juvenile justice and strong relationships

Komsomolskaya Pravda Radio Time of Trust

How to get rid of the infantilism of current youth without destroying the Family

of the Smiley Chaplin, the author’s program “Time” Time “Time confidence” on radio KPPhoto: Ivan VISLOV

Live on radio KP in the program “Time of Trust” with Vsevolod Chaplin “we discuss how to raise children in the modern world, where there are so many temptations.

Chaplin:

– Archpriest Vsevolod Chaplin and our guest Irina Yakovlevna Medvedeva, child psychologist, board member of the Russian Children’s Fund, are at the microphone today. Do you know what topic you would like to discuss today? Mother and children in the modern world – a difficult world, in which it really turns out that generations are divided, parental authority is undermined, including by some authoritative and significant public structures, some leaders of public opinion. There are even special propaganda programs and techniques that try to explain to a growing person that parents are backward people, dark people, cruel people who do not know what he really needs, hinder his freedom, etc. Under these conditions, what should be the mission of the mother, how to help the child navigate in a complex world? Are there any challenges to motherhood and fatherhood as part of human nature? This is what I would like to talk about today.

Last week, the 2nd Orthodox Women’s Forum took place in Moscow, bringing together very different members of the Orthodox women’s movement, people from different countries, different generations, different social groups. And the Forum’s statement said the following: “Today, the role of a woman is invaluable and is most in demand in all spheres of state and public life. Today she is not only a wife and mother. The influence of women in the education system, where they are the majority, is enormous, as well as among medical workers who work under conditions of severe physical and psychological stress. Women mostly work with us in the social sphere.” That is, the document notes the social role of women, which is growing. It cannot help but grow, because any person today has access to both the levers of state administration and information exchange.

But at the same time, the document also says the following: “We resolutely reject the calls of representatives of the so-called progressive public to destroy the traditional Russian values of the Orthodox faith, culture and family in exchange for foreign ideas about “gender equality” and “feminism.” The experience of the fruitful participation of Russian women in the international women’s movement at the beginning of the 20th century convincingly proved that the combination of family work and extra-family activity does not at all mean a rejection of the spiritual and moral values of Orthodoxy traditional for Russian women.

These are the two messages voiced by this forum. Irina Yakovlevna, do you think social activity, professional activity, civil activity of a woman interferes with her activity as a mother or not? You are a very active person, I know you speak at various conferences, on talk shows, on the Internet, in print. Is there tension between these two kinds of ministry?

Medvedev:

– To be honest, of course there is. But since now is such a time of war, you no longer think about the war, you have to defend all the children. What’s the use of trying to keep one of your children? Although this is not possible, a child can be kept in the golden cage of a family for a very short time. Therefore, even for selfish reasons, in order to save your child, you must save everyone now. So in military conditions there is no need to argue.

Of course, I would be much more glad if there were men in front of our opposition to any evil directed at children, at the destruction of the family.

Chaplin:

– You just raised a very important topic. There is some truth, in my opinion, in the reasoning of people who in the modern world, in modern society, emphasize that children need to be emancipated as soon as possible, move away from maternal care, because infantile people, including infantile men (and women too), now very, very much. We recently talked with the great Catholic thinker, one of the few legendary creators of the social doctrine, the social teaching of the Catholic Church, Cardinal Paul Poupard, who lives in our day. So, he noted such an interesting thing as the infantilism of the priests. After graduating from the seminary, a priest in the West (and partly in our country too) turns out to be a shepherd at the age of 25. Actually he is a child. Here is infantilism, perhaps associated, by the way, with excessive maternal care – this is one of the problems of society. On the other hand, under the guise of fighting infantilism, they are simply trying to destroy the traditional family to the ground, saying that at the age of 12-14 a teenager should already completely break with his parents, rebel against them. And God forbid the parents say something to him – they should immediately, if not deprive of parental rights, then at least severely restrict the manifestation of parental authority. Where is the line between falling in love with a child, after which he remains an infantile at the age of 20, and pushing a young person on the part of society to make him feel enemies in his parents?

Medvedev:

– I want to tell you right away that this teenage protest is actually a sign of infantile behavior. This is a defiant rejection of parents, a demonstrative presentation of oneself as an already independent person, this is infantile behavior. We know that this is a sign of adolescence. A real maturing person, on the contrary, needs more and more (albeit on a different level, not as a helpless child, but as a maturing person) a deeper and higher connection with parents than before.

Chaplin:

– And who came up with such a theory that the connection between generations must necessarily break with formal growing up, with the onset of adulthood, with the beginning of an independent family life, or even just with a job? The deeper intergenerational connection that you are talking about that has always been in the traditional family.

Medvedev:

– Has always been and remains in many traditional families.

Chaplin:

– Who came up with the idea that this is a bad connection, that there should not be a multi-level and multi-generational family?

Medvedev:

– I think that it was invented by those who destroyed the tradition in general.

Chaplin:

– And who needs it?

Medvedev:

– Father, you know better. The enemy of the human race needs this. And what kind of times he finds agents in order to do his dirty deeds, this is a matter of time.

Chaplin:

– There is a certain vector, if not ideology, then at least politics, psychology, which is aimed at declaring the traditional family something bad, enslaving people. Some social movements speak of the family as an institution for the suppression of human freedom. This trend, by the way, is not new, we all had it around 1917, and it was at the beginning of the 20th century in a number of European countries. Now, to a large extent, these ideas are also being pushed through some social mechanisms, through public discussion. Who doesn’t love such a complete family? And why is this happening? Is it because people themselves had a bad family, or are they too lazy to start a family, or do they just have some kind of protest against traditional morality? What is the reason – not politicized, external, but the real reason for such an attack on the traditional family?

Medvedev:

– When I was on business trips in Western Europe and tried to understand who works in juvenile services, that is, who professionally deals with the destruction of the family, the separation of children and parents, I must admit that there are a lot of perverts.

Chaplin:

– We will also discuss the topic of juvenile justice, this is a really serious topic.

Medvedev:

– This is connected with what we say, with the attitude towards the mother, the attitude towards the parents. There are a lot of perverted people there.

Chaplin:

– They push a teenager, a child to believe that parents are enemies. There is something that is connected with them and restricts his freedom, but a kind uncle from the social service, from the juvenile service will come and help him have as much ice cream as you want, as many opportunities to use the Internet as you want, as many opportunities to hang out on the street until 2 nights, communicate with people of the opposite sex.

Medvedev:

– That is, it facilitates dehumanization.

Chaplin:

– And why, from your point of view, immorality and dehumanization are close things?

Medvedev:

– Because a dehumanized person is easier to control, and a person who allows himself to be controlled by any forces, including evil ones, this person is already immoral.

I want to tell you a very important thing. Because we have so many questions that we cannot answer. Once I heard a brilliant answer. Our guests were two historians, one German, the other American. Both of them were the closest assistants (one in America, the other in Germany) to the very famous American oppositionist, historian, economist, politician, who repeatedly ran for American presidents, Lyndon LaRouche. It was about 12 years ago, we did not yet understand that dollars are green paper that flooded the whole world. They spoke to my husband in English, he was fluent in English, and I only understood that they told him that all this was pseudo-economics, that the dollar was backed by a maximum of 4%, that when all this bursts, this soap bubble, then those countries , which are tied to the dollar, will simply be under the rubble of this collapsed pseudo-economy. I saw that my husband was very nervous. He was especially nervous when they used the phrase “world government” without hesitation. He believed, as a Moscow intellectual, quite liberally brought up in a professorial family, that such phrases are used only by some half-crazy patriots at rallies, and here two intelligent foreigners, two history professors were talking about a world government. And now I saw how he fidgeted, how he could no longer listen to them. And, finally, he could not stand it and said: you know that I graduated from the Mekhmat, I am a mathematician, I was brought up in formal logic, please explain to me logically why your so-called world government needs to arrange all this, because they themselves, logically, they will be under the rubble. And I remember the reaction well. The American concentrated and thought. The German answered with such speed with which an excellent student answers the multiplication table. He didn’t think for a minute. He said: you are looking for human logic in vain from various perverts and Satanists. They do not have human logic, so it is incomprehensible to you.

Chaplin:

– Interesting answer.

Medvedev:

– And I felt it was true.

Chaplin:

– Often people who are aimed at destroying traditional forms of life do not even seem to understand that all this can cover them or their descendants.

Medvedev:

– That is, they do not have extrapolation, they do not even plan their own fate one step at a time.

Chaplin:

– Let’s listen to some music. The choir of the Orthodox Orphanage “Otrada” at the Maloyaroslavetsky Nikolsky Chernoostrovsky Monastery performs the song “Magi” in English.

Irina Yakovlevna, what do you think, in order to maintain relations between generations, so that the family hearth is really a hearth, and not a fading pile of logs, are joint holidays important?

Medvedev:

– Very important. And joint preparation for these holidays is very important. Because children love to be good, they love it when they are praised by adults for helping. And preparing for the holiday is just a great occasion to involve the child in this help. Together with him, make a festive cake, clean the apartment with him, decorate the Christmas tree with him, come up with gifts with him.

Chaplin:

– And then future families pass the same thing on to their future children.

Medvedev:

– Of course. It is very important. Collaboration is very important.

Chaplin:

– It is no coincidence that culture and traditions that are passed down from generation to generation strengthen the family. Because a girl who remembers her mother, her grandmother, the traditions associated with the family celebration of this or that event, then reproduces all this in her family. And along with tradition, very important things are passed on. Values, including eternal values, which I, as a believer, consider given by God. And the experience and wisdom of generations and centuries, which should not be immediately discarded, identified with some kind of retrograde. Because in this wisdom there are recipes for how the same family should be arranged.

We started with the question of whether the professional activity, civic activity, social activity of the mother interferes with her duties. Doesn’t it turn out that today society or some parts of this society, the structures of this society are pushing the mother and father to transfer the child to some educational communities for upbringing? At best, this is a kindergarten, at worst, these are some kind of boarding schools, some other structures that can take a child for 5 days a week or even for the whole week. It doesn’t happen that mothers insistently suggest the idea that it is enough to see the child once a week, and the rest of the time more competent and more efficient people will take care of him, just pay the money?

Medvedev:

– Constantly pushing. Moreover, they are very fond of saying that otherwise the child, they say, will not learn to communicate. Although I, as a child psychologist with a very large practice, want to say that a child of preschool age, in order to be able to communicate with peers, one, two, three friends in the sandbox in the yard near the house are enough. Therefore, if a mother can be with a child, it does not need to be sent to a kindergarten at all. This is all nonsense. And when a woman, on the one hand, is told how useful it is, on the other hand, she is already fed up with home, she is glad when she has a reason, she has a scientific base in order to give it away. Because seemingly competent people tell her what she needs, there are specialists, they will teach her, most importantly, there is a children’s team. A child does not need a large team, it is not from a good life that he has to be sent to a kindergarten, where there are 30 people in a group. It’s awfully easy for a small child.

Chaplin:

– In Soviet times, kindergartens were a total phenomenon, almost all children went to kindergarten. Now there are not enough places in kindergartens. Although there are a fair number of women who can stay at home, the majority of women still work.

Medvedeva:

– Most of them work, but my experience shows that those women who stayed at home, they appreciate it in the end, they understand that raising a child is also creativity, it is very interesting, it is the most wonderful for women labor.

Chaplin:

– Today I discussed the topic of juvenile justice with journalists. There is a lot of talk about this topic right now. The Council of Bishops of our Church will discuss the topic of changes in family law and the problem of juvenile justice as one of the main topics. Why is this happening? We constantly hear that somewhere children are taken away from their parents. A well-known story has just happened in Finland. As far as I know, a decision has already been made to seize the children from their parents, so that the parents would not even have the opportunity to communicate with these children. We have similar stories too. So it is no coincidence that the topic is one of the four socially significant topics for this Bishops’ Council. And this theme was not thought up by the bishops gathering at the Council, this theme was not thought up by the church apparatus. People are constantly signaling about it, writing letters addressed to the Patriarch. I know that you are one of the activists of the Orthodox parenting movement who oppose the extremes of the system in which children can be easily taken away from their parents.

In connection with all this, another topic comes up. It is clear that at a certain age, children need to be protected, sometimes even physically, from actions dangerous to their life and health, including moral health. That is, for example, do not let out of the house at 2 am to meet with some dubious person.

Medvedev:

– You don’t even have to let out a dubious one at 2 o’clock in the morning.

Chaplin:

– From sticking your fingers into a socket, from overeating on sweets to a state of severe poisoning, sometimes you need to protect a child. But there is such a concept among Western supporters of the maximum freedom of children – the evolving rights of the child, the developing, evolving rights of the child. In this concept, by the way, there is, it seems to me, its own homespun truth, as they say. It is clear that parents should have one attitude towards a 3-5-year-old person and another attitude towards a 13-15-year-old person. The latter have a slightly different degree of freedom. Trying to educate them by spanking is probably not very successful, and it’s already too late. Where can I convey or at least understand the experience of how to approach children of different ages so that there is no temptation, on the one hand, to give a 7-year-old person absolute freedom, which will destroy him, and on the other hand, not to try to educate 17 -year-old like a 5-year-old?

Medvedev:

– For many years I have been dealing with practical child psychology and dealing with parents. You know, very often you put your head in place of your parents, and there is nothing to do with the child. So, even among the most mediocre parents, I have never seen those who would not understand this difference. Yes, there are, of course, too annoying mothers. This is called hyper-custody, when they hang over even an adult child and control him in every possible way. But even such mothers, if they are given a little hint, realize that they need to slightly change their attitude towards their already grown-up son.

As for punishments. A preschool child sometimes even needs to be punished physically, because not everyone knows this, but since I am a specialist, I know this well, the cerebral cortex develops up to 20 years old. The cerebral cortex is what is responsible for consciousness, in particular, for verbal understanding. So, when a small child, whose cerebral cortex is still immature, underdeveloped, gets naughty, that is, his subcortex is disinhibited, he simply does not hear the verbal prohibition, he does not understand it. Therefore, it often needs to be physically stopped.

As for a child who has already grown up, it would seem absurd, of course, to beat a teenager. But you know, in today’s reality, when many teenagers are, as they say, reckless, when they are provoked to be rude towards their parents, when they are told that parents are the main enemies, I would be in the place of the father of such a teenager, if the father hears, that a child swears at his mother, or even swings at her, if I were his father, I would hit him properly. I think that here you will no longer reflect on age characteristics. He is ham. So in today’s reality, these things do not always have to be so strictly observed – a preschooler, they say, can be kicked in the ass, but don’t you dare touch a teenager. Look what a teenager. Better his father will give him than the colony will give him later.

Chaplin:

– Let’s listen to some more music. There is such a festival of poetic rock “Dazhd”. This is a festival that gathers people who sing, among other things, songs related to spiritual meanings, with Christian meanings. Here is one of the songs from this festival. Oleg Sterkh, “Rejoice in the sky”.

Irina Yakovlevna, today someone brings up mothers? It is clear that their own mothers can bring them up, sometimes they bring them up well, sometimes they do not. Is there any system at school, in public organizations, on the Internet? Or does everyone learn by trial and error?

Medvedev:

– Of course, there are some systematic classes, some schools for parents, universities for parents. But I must tell the truth, very often you can answer all this that it would be better not to teach. Because even my psychologist colleagues say such nonsense to their parents, very harmful nonsense at that. That there is no need to put pressure on the child, let him do whatever he wants, let him make his choice, he is completely free. Some nonsense is being said about the fact that in Japan, until the age of 5, a child does not hear the word “no”. And all this is repeated and passed on to each other.

Chaplin:

– Is this true or myth?

Medvedev:

– Certainly a myth. Japan has very strict parenting. In Japan, there is no concept of law at all, especially the rights of the child, there are solid obligations.

Chaplin:

– Listen to the call. Mary is in touch with us.

– I have a question about motivation. Two boys, one 11 years old, the other 6 years old. With the elder – in mugs, ballroom dancing, taekwondo. As a result, at the age of 10, he says: I’m not interested in anything, I don’t want anything. That is, we wanted all this for the child to do this. The youngest child at the age of 6 says: Mom, we watched the Olympics, I want to do diving. I was so happy that the child himself expressed a desire. We started in October. It gets hard, the sport is not easy. And now he also says to me: Mom, you know, I don’t want to. I have such an inner desire, now I will give up. So what? Or I will pull him just like the older one, and at the age of 10-11 we will understand that we are not coming to anything. I would like some professional advice on what to do.

Medvedeva:

– It seems to me that if children have normal physical development, it is much more useful, including for further physical development, that they play more in the yard. Especially if they don’t want to play sports anymore. In the yard it happens somehow by itself, the child moves. But most importantly, this is a brilliant communication training. Because in the yard the child is included in different systems of connections. He is in one team, then in another, he either leads, or he hides, he either commands, then he obeys, then he runs and jumps, then he also needs to think. So instead of sports sections, I think the children should be returned to the yard again. Our yards, unfortunately, are now empty.

Chaplin:

– Sometimes they are not safe.

Medvedev:

– It is better to take care that it is safe in the yard than to leave the yard to alcoholics and bandits. It is very important. This is not only a great joy for children, but it is the most important thing that no section and no psychological communication training can replace.

Chaplin:

– You said very well, Irina Yakovlevna, that there are some forms, mechanisms, ways that naturally educate a person. Children naturally learn to communicate in the yard or elsewhere. They do not need to impose some kind of prepared scheme. Parents themselves learn to raise children. There is a natural transfer of experience in families. And why is this so? Is it in nature?

Medvedev:

– Of course, it’s in the genetic memory.

Chaplin:

– Does this exist regardless of any notions – psychological, or pedagogical, or political, or social? They try to tell us all the time through various social mechanisms: do not trust feelings and what is established in the family, follow some doctrine, follow some mechanisms that are invented by smart people, follow the recommendations of these smart people, do not reproduce what is natural want to reproduce. Is this a natural development of events, is it really so strong that it protects against various problems?

Medvedev:

– I want to say that you are absolutely right, today parents (mainly mothers, because fathers are not very involved, as a rule, in raising children) are told that they do not understand anything about children.

Chaplin:

– This is where some psychological training begins, some stories about fashion practices. “You idiots,” they try to tell people, “you don’t understand anything.”

Medvedev:

– Not only do you not know how to educate them, you do not know how to love them, but we will teach you to love them.

Chaplin:

– Without us, you are nothing, parents are told.

Medvedev:

– Yes. And this is how they gain power over people who, in fact, if everything is fine with their head and soul, if they are not mentally ill, not seriously mentally retarded, their instinct leads correctly. I’m not talking about those behavior patterns (you also rightly spoke about this today) that they received when they were children, from their mothers, grandmothers, aunts, from the mothers of their girlfriends, whom they came to visit. But in general, maternal intuition is so great that no specialist, even the best, with the best intentions, can match it. And when they deliberately destroy the normal relationship of a mother to a child and a mother to a child, this is generally just awful. And all this is done under the guise of the rights of the child: it is necessary to respect the rights of the child, but you don’t understand anything about this, you didn’t like him, that’s why he is so naughty with you.

Chaplin:

– Or fell in love.

Medvedev:

– Yes. We know that Natalia Zakharova’s three-year-old daughter was taken away from Natalia Zakharova in France with the verdict “suffocating maternal love.”

Chaplin:

– Is it still an instinct, like an animal, or is it something more?

Medvedev:

– Of course, this is something more. The woman fulfills the task of her Creator. And this task, of course, includes the correct upbringing of the child. And it’s really built into it. I want to tell all parents to trust their intuition more, so that they do not listen to any “specialists”. Now everything must be decided by our specialists, even what an illiterate village old woman perfectly understands. Everything now has experts, even how to love a child.

Chaplin:

– You have to earn money.

Medvedev:

– I understand all this. It’s not just about that. Indeed, there is something beyond human logic, as this German historian rightly said 12 years ago. This is not human logic. I must confess to you that my daughter, having gone to practice in her 3rd year (she studied at the philological faculty, and she was sent to practice in one European country), after 2 months she arrived a different person. Because she went there, as is customary, to see a psychologist, and the psychologist explained to her that all her problems were only from her mother, who suppressed her. For a long time I could not put her in order after this trip to a foreign psychologist.

Chaplin:

– Another very important question that probably worries many people. The tendency to the maximum emancipation of the child at school, in the family. The trend is very trendy. Maybe now it has weakened, because it is clear that it does not bring either total happiness or the construction of an ideal society. But in the last few decades, this trend has been actively developed through authoritative psychologists and educators who have a certain influence in society, through some structures. The tendency to emancipate the child. What do you think of her? Over the past decades, they have very often tried to instill in us such an idea that if a person is freed from guardianship (parental, school, social, moral, any other), he will be fine, he will correctly figure out how to continue to live. By the way, they referred to the same instincts or natural intuition, which, it seems, should lead a person in the right direction. In one case, they support the emancipation and release of the natural aspirations of a person, and in the other case, they are trying to replace them with something.

Speaking about the liberation of the child, is the liberated child happy or not? We understand that a completely downtrodden child is unhappy (this also happens), but a liberated child is happy or not?

Medvedev:

– I’m watching this all the time right now and I want to say that today even very experienced specialists, child psychoneurologists, psychologists make mistakes in the diagnosis. Because sometimes a child is brought to me for a consultation, I look at him and want to tell the mother: you know, you have the wrong address, you should already go to a psychiatrist and put him in a hospital. But I don’t. I know from quite a lot of experience that you need to ask your mother how she is raising this child. Today, this emancipation, but in fact bringing the child to a state of complete licentiousness, it causes such psychopathization that an absolutely normal child can look not just like a mentally ill person, but like a sick person who should be placed in the acute department of a lunatic asylum.

Chaplin:

– How does this manifest itself?

Medvedev:

– Most of all, this is manifested in what is now fashionable to call hyperactivity. He has the so-called field behavior. Let’s say a 5-6-year-old child, having come to the playroom, should organize a plot game, and he runs around as if he is 1.5 years old, and what gets into his field of attention for a second, he focuses on that for a second his gaze, grabs something, then immediately throws it, switches to another. This is called field behavior. He is very aggressive. That is, he behaves terribly, often behaves like a violent mental patient.

Chaplin:

– Is he encouraged to do this by his parents, the education system?

Medvedev:

– Parents, having heard enough of smart specialists, believe that this is the emancipation that you just mentioned. Now, I want to say that the child is not really hyperactive. Hyperactivity is a symptom of severe mental illness. But, fortunately, this diagnosis is false in 90% of cases today. In fact, the child unconsciously runs into parental authority. He gets so worried because…

Chaplin:

– You know, a person tends to try to push the boundaries of what is permitted all the time in order to understand where the limit of this is permitted.

Medvedev:

– A small child does not really understand this. Therefore, adults should show him where the boundaries are. And when adults stop doing this, that is, when they stop using their natural and most beautiful power in the world, because this power is love, the child experiences unconscious excitement, because a sense of hierarchy is embedded in his genetic memory. When this hierarchy does not exist, he unconsciously runs into parental authority with this violent behavior, he wants to at least evoke the authority of the parents, even if the authority is negative, dissatisfied.

Chaplin:

– Is this a child who no longer communicates with anyone? If a person behaves this way, his peers can stop him in the yard or at school. Or is he closed only in the circle of parental absolute freedom?

Medvedev:

– When he goes to school, his peers avenge him very cruelly for this parental connivance, because they do not tolerate it.

Chaplin:

– In general, a collision with real life can very much break off, in modern terms, this person.

Medvedeva:

– Parents do terrible things when they allow everything.

Chaplin:

– Thank you for participating in our broadcast. We discussed important things today. I hope that they will be useful to parents, teachers, and young students themselves. All peace, joy, God’s help in good deeds. Let’s hear again.

Medvedev:

– All the best.

Movie “Blondeline” – movie “Blondeline” and death came out on Netflix in the last days of September and became the most talked about picture. Some evaluate her with interest, believing that the experiment to transform the “Bond’s assistant” Ana de Armas into the main sex symbol of the twentieth century was a success. Others – scold on what light. The Fontanka reviewer got the feeling that he had lived his whole life side by side with the film star.

Little Norma Jean has no father, and her mother is strange. One day she showed Norma Jean a portrait of a handsome man with a mustache and said that it was her father. Norma Jean has been dreaming of seeing him ever since. Then my mother tried to drown her in the bath, and Norma Jean was sent to an orphanage, and my mother was placed in a hospital. Norma Jean grew up and began shooting for pin-up magazines, chose a sonorous name for herself – Marilyn Monroe. But inside the beauty of Marilyn, little Norma Jean still lives, who dreams of meeting her daddy.

Directed by Andrew Dominik, the film “Blonde” about the life of the most famous representative of this “tribe” based on the book of the same name by the popular writer in the United States Joyce Carol Oates. He doesn’t have an extensive filmography; he is best known for his film “How the Cowardly Robert Ford Killed Jesse James” – also a biopic about another American symbol, about the death of the famous cowboy robber; starring and producing Brad Pitt. Very calm, very viscous, long, as its name suggests; not without a touch of art-house and whimsicality, a western without action, a biography not like a film adaptation of an encyclopedia article, but creativity based on life and legend.

Pitt does not appear in Blonde, but remains a producer. Apparently, he likes this kind of movie. The title here is already short, but the film turned out to be no less long: two hours and forty minutes. And its history is also long: it was conceived back in 2010. Marilyn was supposed to play either Naomi Watts or Jessica Chastain. But they approved the role of Ana de Armas, who sparkled in the last James Bond and in the new Blade Runner. There were long preparations, there was a downtime due to covid, there were altercations with the management of Netflix, who were horrified by some frank scenes. The film ended up with an NC-17 rating, the strictest of the bunch; This is the first time such a movie has appeared on Netflix. In Venice, at the premiere, the audience gave the picture a standing ovation for a long fourteen minutes (it is not clear how much patience was enough): and this is also supposedly about longitude, and lengthens the film itself.

Still, it’s good that he’s on streaming and not in movies. It is difficult, whatever you say, to sit in one place for one hundred and sixty-six minutes. And so – you can be distracted, relax and again return to Norma Jean, who dutifully waits; this is how, according to the film, her husbands and boyfriends treated her.

And, as you know, there were a lot of them: Chaplin’s son (with a friend!), And athlete Joe DiMaggio, and playwright Arthur Miller – he is played here by another star, a very aged Adrien Brody. Or rather, not so: here he is simply called “playwright”. And John Kennedy, with whom, according to rumors, was also in the very final – not Kennedy, but the “president”. And the heroine herself literally divides herself into Norma Jean and Marilyn; Marilyn becomes this bright poster, an icon that everyone wants, first protecting the girl inside, and then something that eats her alive, crowding out everything else.

At least that’s what the writer of the script, Joyce Carol Oates, came up with. I must say that this is her characteristic method: like this, getting used to a real heroine, to reconstruct everything to the deepest foundations. Oates did this in her most famous novel, Black Water, based on the scandalous story of Kennedy’s younger brother, Ted, who was driving drunk with a girl and flew off at a bend into a lake, the car with the girl drowned, and Ted escaped. And throughout the book, together with the heroine, we endlessly drown in this black water and relive this trip and her whole life again and again. So it is with Blonde, for which Oates took this obvious, of course, Freudian detail with her father and through it explains both Marilyn’s eternal childish lisp, and all her relationships, and her inability to continue to live in this male world. Everything would be fine, but it is served so insistently, so head-on – we already understood your guess, thank you.

There is a lot of time, the film lasts so long, it’s like living with Marilyn for several years in a row. And the director shoved everything that he knew and could do here. Some of the scenes are black and white, some are in color; the aspect ratio also changes. One would think that one, say, is a black-and-white myth about Marilyn, and the color is real life. But it doesn’t seem to fit. At some point, we are shown a computer-drawn unborn child of the actress, and she is talking to him. This is some kind of Aronofsky or Terrence Malick. In other scenes, reality and some kind of Lynchian surreal merge with blurry faces and strange realities, accelerated filming …

I can’t help but feel happy for Andrew Dominik that he knows so many film techniques and is happy to show them all to us one by one. The only problem is that the film begins to look a bit not like a psychological drama, but like a movie attraction like Hazanavicius’s “Artist”: the whole evening at the Dushechka arena and her amazing transformations … Ana de Armas plays confidently, recognizably, but at some point it starts to look a little too recognizable. He whispers too much, he makes too many eyes, he looks too much like a doppelgänger show. Also an attraction, a carousel.

As well as the fact that none of the iconic career moments are missed: too obvious an approach for smart cinema. There is a white dress over the sunroof, and the “poo-poo pida” from “Only Girls in Jazz” (Jack Lemmon is played by his son Chris, the spitting image of dad). We only resisted Happy birthday, mister President! – but this is offset by the most frank scene in the White House in the spirit of Monica and Bill. And also in the program of rape and abortion, filmed at close range, hurry to see! Here it comes out interestingly: “Blonde” seems to be designed to show us that little lost girl behind a layer of dazzling gloss. But in fact, he again calls Marilyn onto the stage and drives her almost with a whip in a circle, in a circle – all two hours and forty minutes.

Poor, poor Norma Jean.

Alla Larionova – biography, photo, personal life, husband and children, cause of death

Biography of Alla Larionova

Alla Larionova is a Soviet actress, whose beauty and talent were once legendary. The debut role of Lyubava in the adaptation of the fairy tale “Sadko” brought her international success at the Venice Film Festival in 1953 year. The fate of the actress could be different: Charlie Chaplin himself invited her to Hollywood, promising the main role in his film. But actresses from the USSR were not allowed to work behind the Iron Curtain. The cult picture that brought Larionova fame and insane popularity in the Soviet Union was Anna on the Neck. People’s Artist of the RSFSR, laureate of the Guild of Actors of Russian Cinema. She passed away in the spring of 2000.

In the photo: Alla Larionova

Childhood, youth, family

Alla was born in winter 1931 years in the family of Valentina and Dmitry Larionov. At the time of her birth, her parents were already raising their son Volodya. Alla’s parents, Valentina Alekseevna and Dmitry Andreevich, met during the Civil War – both were partisans in the Kotovsky brigade. Father, a faithful Leninist, a member of the RSDLP (b) from the beginning of 1918, always willingly worked where the party sent him. A deputy of the Moscow Bauman District Council, he was first appointed director of a small factory, then he was entrusted with the position of director of the district food trade.

Alla Larionova in childhood

Dmitry Andreevich reminded the actor Nikolai Okhlopkov of the article: he was a tall, imposing man. He died in 1967, when Alla’s career was at its peak: from a mole carelessly cut off while shaving, he developed melanoma. According to neighbors, he never used his official position. The family lived in an old house for a long time. The back door opened onto the courtyard, where the audience left the cinema nearby after the show. The girl constantly heard how they shared their opinions about this or that film, and later recalled:

Why be surprised [she said about her success – approx. ed. uznayvse.ru], because from an early age I knew what moviegoers like and what not! She said about her silverless father: “For as long as I can remember, there was always an empty refrigerator at home. If you want something tasty – dad has one answer: go to the store and buy it.

Valentina Alekseevna, despite the fact that she graduated from only four classes, was an intelligent and active woman. She got a job as a supply manager in a kindergarten, ran the household: first her own, then with her daughter, who became a celebrity, whom she usually raised, like all Soviet children. Once in the summer, the baby was sent to a kindergarten country cottage. Once a cameraman and assistants arrived there, chose two boys and Alla from all the children, filmed samples on camera and left. Later, the Larionovs were offered to film their daughter in a movie, but the parents refused.

Alla Larionova could have made films as a child

Allochka was ten years old when the war began. The father immediately went to the people’s militia, and Valentina Alekseevna, together with her children, was evacuated to Menzelinsk, a city in Tatarstan. In the local hospital, Alla felt like an artist for the first time: she performed in front of the wounded, read poetry and sang. The girl was enthusiastically applauded by the future People’s Artist of the Soviet Union Zinovy Gerdt, who was wounded in the leg.

The Larionov family was reunited in the capital at the end of the war. A year later, young Alla, not far from the school, was noticed by Nadezhda Kushnerenko, assistant director Alexander Dovzhenko, who was starting to shoot the feature film Michurin. Here, my mother could not do anything, although she was against it: the girl really wanted to act in the film and eventually played one of the breeder’s assistants.

Young Alla Larionova in mother

On the set, the young beauty was noticed, they began to invite as an extra to Mosfilm. In the first episode with the words, Alla got into the film by Yuli Raizman “The train goes to the East.” And I was looking forward to graduating from school in order to enter a theater university.

For herself, Larionova chose two specialized institutes: GITIS and VGIK. I failed at the audition for the first university: I saw the famous Andrey Goncharov in the commission and got so excited that I forgot the words. The second did not go right away: Sergey Gerasimov decided that Alla’s appearance did not fit into the canons, and did not want to take her on a course. Only thanks to his wife and assistant, actress Tamara Makarova, who saw something in the applicant, at 1948, the girl was enrolled in the course.

Creative way

Alla was in her second year when she was invited to audition for Alexander Ptushko’s painting “Sadko”. The main character has already been identified, he was played by Sergei Stolyarov. But there was a problem with Lyubava, not one of the two hundred applicants came up to the director. But only Larionova appeared in the studio, he exclaimed: “There is Lyubava! Go girl, go to the next room, read the script, get ready to shoot.” Georgy Natanson, who knew Alla from the time of Michurin, recalled this.

Alla Larionova in the film “Sadko”

The picture was released in 1952 and made a splash. The creative group, which, along with Stolyarov and Lydia Vertinskaya, included Alla, was invited to Venice for a film festival. “Sadko” was awarded the “Silver Lion”. It should be noted that the “Golden Lion” in 1953 was not awarded to anyone.

Alla Larionova in her youth

Larionova was called a bright rising star of Soviet cinema, she was lavished with praise by foreign actors and directors who immediately wanted to get the Russian beauty in their films. But filming in the “decaying west” in the USSR was banned. Officials decided everything for the actress, referring to her busy filming schedule, allegedly scheduled for ten years in advance. The only thing the actress regretted until the end of her days was that she had to refuse even Charlie Chaplin. But she could well conquer Hollywood.

Alla Larionova in the film “Anna on the Neck”

But Larionova returned to her homeland and became the queen of Soviet cinema after filming in Isidor Annensky’s drama “Anna on the Neck” (1954), in which she played the main role. Her shooting partners were Alexander Vertinsky, Irina Murzaeva, Mikhail Zharov. Vertinsky was against the candidacy of Larionova, he offered to take on the role of an older actress. But seeing with what dedication Alla works, he changed his attitude towards her.

Alla Larionova and Alexander Vertinsky

Dance rehearsals literally exhausted the young actress, she hardly rearranged her swollen legs. All the sacrifices were not in vain: the premiere of the film made a splash, the audience went to the cinema three or four times to see Larionova again. Alla began to receive bags of letters with admiring confessions.

Still from the film “Twelfth Night”

Even more of them became after filming in the film adaptation of Shakespeare’s “Twelfth Night” by Ian Fried. In the film, the actress played Countess Olivia, and her screen lover was … Clara Luchko, who embodied two images at once in the film – brother and sister Sebastian and Viola. Later, Larionova played Oksana in the Polesskaya Legend, the sexton Raisa in The Witch, Anna Odintsova in the drama Fathers and Sons.

Alla Larionova in the film “The Witch”

Since the late 50s, the actress rarely appeared in the lead roles. The reason for this, Larionova believed, was indirectly the attention of the Minister of Culture Georgy Alexandrov. He liked the actress, and once a man invited her to a banquet. At the event, he thanked her for her work and tried to be there all evening. The next morning, the staff of Lenfilm began to curry favor with her, and soon rumors spread about the actress’s romance with the minister. The story was passed from mouth to mouth about how Aleksandrov bathed Larionova in a champagne bath.

Alla Larionova. The Tale of the Soviet Angel

Later, when the minister fell into disgrace, envious people (and among them were such venerable stars as Lyubov Orlova and Marina Ladynina) tried to “drown” Larionova with rumors about their relationship. However, the actress herself and all her relatives and colleagues always said unequivocally: this could not be. They stopped calling Alla to the cinema, difficulties also began in the theater: she was not signed a business trip permit and was not given daily allowance, because of which she could not go to Yalta to shoot the film Ilya Muromets. Only after a call to the new Minister of Culture did the persecution stop.

Alla Larionova in the film “Wild Honey”

And yet, in the 60s, the actress’s career began to decline. She appeared in several films (“Come to me, Mukhtar!”, “Wild Honey”, for which she disguised herself “like a ugly girl”, “Uncle’s Dream”, “Magician”, etc. ), but there were no more cult characters among her heroines . And in the 70s, she completely disappeared from the big screens, supplanted by younger actresses. Together with her husband Nikolai Rybnikov, she traveled around the country, basking in the rays of human adoration.

Alla Larionova in the film The Ivanov Family (1975)

The last, unfinished film role was the teacher from the thesis work of Vyacheslav Afonin “A Quiet Angel Has Arrived …”, filmed in 1995.

Personal life of Alla Larionova

While studying at VGIK, yesterday’s “ugly duckling” blossomed, and after the role in “Sadko” no one would turn their tongues to call Alla “ugly”, as Sergey Gerasimov once did.

Beautiful Alla Larionova

Alla’s career rushed up. Partners on the set, visitors to the Film Actor Theater, where she worked since 1953, officials and ministers fell in love with her. If she came to a film show or to the theater as a spectator, then the whole audience looked only in her direction. Yevgeny Morgunov boasted that on the set, Larionova once slept in his huge bed – there was no props suitable in size, he had to borrow from a corpulent actor. Larionova returned home to her parents in the basement with makeshift windows and a bathroom in the kitchen.

On the set of “Sadko” Larionova met Ivan Pereverzev. The actor was 15 years older than her and at that time had already made a name for himself thanks to the film “The First Glove” and courageous appearance. Alla fell in love without memory, they began an affair, but Pereverzev was in no hurry to make an offer.

In the photo: Ivan Pereverzev in the 50s

Alla knew that her classmate Nikolai Rybnikov was unconditionally in love with her. More precisely, in the first years she was in love, and he was passionate about another. But as soon as the girl cooled down, Nikolai, on the contrary, lost his head. He tried to get her attention for six years, beat Vadim Zakharenko, who spread rumors about Alla, and even tried to commit suicide, but, fortunately, was saved.

Classmates and teachers, including Sergei Gerasimov himself, tried to convince Nikolai to either forget the beauty or win. Rybnikov chose the second option and since then has written touching letters to Alla, no matter in what remote corners of the country she may be:

I have no idea how he managed to find me, but, in modern terms, he got me. And got it!

During the filming of “Polesskaya legend” in Minsk, Alla realized that she was carrying a child under her heart. And soon I found out that the actress Kira Kanaeva and the father of her child are the same person at about the same time. Pereverzev broke into Moscow and returned back with a stamp in his passport. His wife was … his former crazy love Nadezhda Cherednichenko. She had no illusions about Ivan: “I hid from problems,” she said. But still accepted his marriage proposal.

Alla Larionova and Nikolay Rybnikov

The betrayal of her beloved forced Alla to call Rybnikov Just before the New Year, 1957, Rybnikov came to his beloved. He knew what she expected from the other. However, on January 2, they came to the registry office together and signed. Daughter Alyonka was born in February, and Nikolai always made the girl his own. Four years later, their common daughter with Nikolai, Arina, was born.

Alla Larionova with children on vacation

According to those around him, Rybnikov never made a distinction between girls, but his main love was his wife, Lapulya, as he called her for the more than thirty years that they lived together.

Nicholas idolized his wife

Relatives were surprised how such dissimilar people could not only exist together, but be an incredibly beautiful and harmonious couple. After all, Larionova always loved big companies, secular evenings and everyone’s attention. Rybnikov, on the contrary, was a rather reserved and unsociable person, and he liked to while away the evenings at home.

Larionova was, as they would say now, a socialite

Some close friends of the spouses claimed that Alla rather allowed to love than actually loved. That the actress allegedly sometimes started non-binding romances on the side, which Nikolai knew about, was terribly jealous, but could not do anything.

When Alla’s mother broke her femoral neck and needed care, Nikolai was there, often to the detriment of his career and financial well-being. And from some point it began to deteriorate sharply: by the 80s, both had not been called for the main roles for a long time, there was not even money for the maintenance of their spacious apartment. Not everything was in order with the children either: the eldest daughter Alena, although she graduated from school with triples, made progress in the profession of an editing director, but the youngest Alina began to drink. The dacha became an outlet for the elderly spouses.

Alla Larionova with her daughters

In 1990, Nikolai died – in a dream he had a heart attack. After that, Alla practically stopped acting in films, fell out of love with noisy companies and became a recluse. After the death of her father, Alina finally became addicted to alcohol, and once she gathered a group of friends in her parents’ apartment, and one of her friends took out all the valuables. Larionova did not report to the police, but insisted that her daughter leave her.

After the death of her husband, Alla lost her taste for life

Death and memory

Shortly before the tragic day, the actress flew on tour with the play “Cunning, Money, Love” in Belgorod. According to Stanislav Sadalsky, she became ill on board, Larionova was laid in the aisle. Nonna Mordyukova gave her nitroglycerin. Valentina Titova offered to help take off her wig, but the artist refused with the words: “Never! Dying – so in a wig. Then it became easier for her, Larionova refused hospitalization.

Alla Larionova in old age

And on April 25, 2000, daughter Alena, together with rescuers, opened the door to her apartment, because her mother did not respond to calls. Doctors pronounced him dead from a massive heart attack in his sleep.
