“We recommend the FINRA Series 6 class at Morton Learning Center to all of our associates who need licensing.  We have partnered with John for many years and have been extremely pleased with the pass rate of those associates who have attended class.  Pat takes complex information and breaks it down into simple and manageable parts, ensuring a valuable learning experience for our associates and one that helps them pass the exam!  Thanks Pat and everyone at Morton Learning Center!”

Michelle Price • Communications Director, Nationwide Insurance

“John’s organization prepares students better than any other we have used.   We recently had two career-change students test and their results were excellent!  I would not hesitate to recommend Morton-Barber.”

Dewey Hildebrand • Sales Manager

“The staff at Morton-Barber are the absolute best!  They patiently take the time to explain the licensing process to my recruits so that they don’t feel like they have to go it alone – even if the students choose the on-line study options!  I know that my recruits are always going to have a real live person to turn to when they need it most, not a faceless 800 number or ‘chat’ box.”

Bradley Roach • District Sales Manager, Western & Southern Life

“Couldn’t have passed the test without this class!  John is great!  I will send more students your way!”

Brian , Student

Taking the Series 6 preparation course with John Barber was critical in my preparation for the test! John walked our class through helpful charts, graphs and memorization techniques that helped reinforce key concepts. Taking this course really helped pull everything together for me and gave me the confidence I needed to succeed! Thanks, John!

Natalie Stollar, Direct Marketing Consultant, Nationwide Insurance

Danielle Smith , State Farm

The Morton Barber Learning Center classes were incredibly helpful in preparing for the FINRA exams. I came in new to the industry, and came out ready for the tests. The time invested was well worth it. John Barber does an exceptional job of investing in his students and making sure they understand and can remember the material. I passed the Series 6 and Series 26 exams, and highly recommend the courses to my friends and coworkers.

  2. Instructors have an option to ‘make a course private’ before each semester starts. Private course does not allow students to access entire course site. After course start dates, courses will remain open so students can access and view course content posted in Blackboard Learn. Instructors have options to hide certain content or course items in Blackboard course site. Contact IT helpdesk or Blackboard LMS administrator if you have trouble to open a course or have special requests.
  3. Course section merge: you must send request to us to merge multiple sections of same course, or merge sections of cross-listed courses into one combined section (parent section). Instructors only see the combined section and students will only see their enrolled section. But the combined section will host all course content, enrollments, and gradebook etc. Individual instructor assigned to the children sections will be listed as one of the instructors in the combined section. It is recommended to send your request and have the sections merged BEFORE you copy/add any course content to your course sections. CDL Training | Morton Grove Illinois

  • How long is CDL in Illinois?

Depending on your CDL program, your training may take a couple of weeks or more. Our training program is designed to prepare you for the exam and to give you the skills to drive safely on the open road. Our thorough training will help you get a job after passing the exam!

  • How much do CDL drivers earn?

There is currently a shortage of CDL drivers in the labor market. Worst since the late 90s. This has led to a significant increase in the wages of commercial drivers. According to local recruitment agencies, a truck driver salary in Chicago is between $53,000 and $73,000 per year.

  • How do I get a commercial driver’s license?

The first step to obtaining a commercial driver’s license is to verify ELDT-compliant truck driving schools. Alpha Truck Driving School is certified for entry level driver training. Then obtain a Commercial Learner’s Permit (CDL) to begin your program of study.

When choosing a CDL training school, be aware that some transportation companies offer paid CDL training, but this includes a contract with that company, which means less freedom to work the way you would like. Other transportation companies offer tuition compensation, so be aware that you have options!

  • How is the CDL training?

Alpha Truck Driving School will prepare you for the classroom-based written exam. Once you receive a CDL student permit, your training will focus on learning the basics of commercial trailer inspection, proper trip planning techniques, and DOT safety rules.

Upon satisfactory completion, the student will continue on to our driving range. Our curriculum consists of 20 hours of driving instruction on local streets and interstate roads, 20 hours of skill development, and 20 hours of observation coaching.

  • How old do you have to be to get a CDL?

Driver must be at least 18 years of age to drive a commercial vehicle within state lines, operator must be at least 21 years of age to operate a commercial vehicle out of state. The driver must also have a valid driver’s license. You must also be 21 years of age to transport hazardous materials or passengers.

  • Can I get a job at CDL with a criminal record?

A criminal record does not make you eligible for a CDL job. Please call our friendly staff at (630) 628-1111 for more information.

  • What is a CDL A license?

    The

Class A CDL is a commercial driver’s license that allows you to drive any combination vehicle up to £26,000. A road train is a vehicle that has a tractor and a trailer or trailers (the driver must have the appropriate permits). Class A CDL is the highest driving license category and allows the holder to drive smaller vehicles (Class B or Class C). No matter which engineering degree you choose to work with, CDL will give you the opportunity to advance your career!

  • What are the endorsements on a commercial driver’s license?

Permits are required to carry certain types of goods or to operate a combination vehicle with more than one trailer.
