ABOUT US

We strive to communicate Biblical truths in word, deed, and attitude. Each child is unique and valuable in God’s eyes, is loved by Him, and has inherent worth in this world and the next. Thus, we will use Bible stories, songs, and games in our basic curriculum in addition to other content material. Furthermore, we will model prayer as a regular part of our daily activities. Our mission is to be a consistently loving, Christian environment in which children and their families can grow in a community of faith. Sample of the daily schedule

We offer our preschoolers kindergarten prep. We are teaching them to interact with others setting them up for long-term educational success. We help each child develop manners and build character as they become lifelong learners.

The safety of every child is our top priority. All staff are MN-DHS-qualified and have passed federally regulated background checks. Secure check-in/out, billing, and parent communications are all handled through procare software.

Children under our care will be supervised at all times:

• “Sight and Hearing Check:” Staff will have children within their sight and hearing at all times.

• “Count and Check:” Staff count all children under their supervision when transitioning from one area to another.

• “Name to Face Check:” Staff will match children’s names to faces every time they transition between inside and outside.

LOCATION AND HOURS

Valley Christian Daycare is a ministry of valley christian church ans is located in Moorhead, MN. We are open Monday – Friday from 7AM to 6PM. Registration is available for Full Time care (Monday-Friday).

CLASSROOM EXPERIENCE

Valley Christian Daycare teachers will engage children in developmentally appropriate ways to encourage children in reasoning, problem solving, and negotiating their environment. Read more about Valley Christian Daycare’s Program Plan

Activities will be intentionally planned to promote intellectual, physical, and social/emotional development. While these activities can center around celebrations (birthdays, Christmas, Easter, etc. ), they may also include traditional story-telling, dress, and body-language. Furthermore, because Valley Christian Daycare is centered on our core belief in Jesus Christ, we will also enjoy with the children and their families our shared heritage of Christian faith.

Experimentation is at the heart of active child-initiated activities. For example, a preschool child experimenting with objects at a sand table is learning about measurements, volume, and motor skills, by adding water to dry sand the child experiences repeatable results (the foundation of scientific understandings). Teachers reinforce the child’s initiative by providing explanations and vocabulary to the child as the child explores. This kind of knowledge scaffolding is foundational to gaining specific content knowledge and development of lifelong learning.

Art is a universal vehicle for children to express their ideas and feelings. Children reflect their thoughts and emotions through their choices of color, texture, and media.
