   Senior: After switching from my old elementary school to this school, I found it to be a drastic change. There are different buildings for each category of students (elementary, middle, high) and they’re not all that big, however, the intelligence and diversity of this school make up for it! I’ve made friends of many different cultures and I’ve never met so many people who are of the same culture as me. I take college classes in addition to my high school classes, and I’m even graduating a year early to get a headstart on college. This school is primarily A student, and 90% of the teachers actually care about their students and prioritize their education. I love my teachers, I could never ask for better ones. Overall, this school is very hard-working, diverse, and the extracurriculars focus on STEM-related activities, but they have cultural and even athletic clubs, too!… Read 179 reviews

   Senior: The Osceola County School for the Arts (OCSA) is a school full of possibilities. The administration and teachers are amazing and supportive. It is the perfect setting for students aspiring to become artists. The multiple majors, clubs, events, etc. present opportunities that are unmatched. I attended OCSA as a band major from grades 6-12. I wish that there is funding for the school to have a state-of-the-art facility. I also hope they incorporate piano as a primary instrument (for band, orchestra, vocal, etc.). I auditioned on piano but I instead played percussion because piano is not considered a primary instrument. OCSA is great at creating exceptional musicians and artists. I feel, however, that I did not get the most of this experience because I could not play my primary instrument.    Parent: We live in Windermere opted for Howard instead of our zoned school. Because it is a magnet school for visual and performing arts, the number of creative electives a student can choose from, such as Law, Dance, Photography or Guitar, is much better than standard OCPS. The STEM teacher is a 2018 OCPS “Teacher of the Year” recipient. The culture at the school is vibrant, because the students and teachers choose to be there, and that is quite different from a school where you have to be there. The school was built in 1926. We like the traditional building – like a “Rydell High” – and love the fact that the school has a dedicated auditorium (separate from the cafeteria) for the fantastic theatrical productions. Last year, the theater department put on “James and the Giant Peach,” it blew us away how good it was. For the 2018 school year, Howard is 100% magnet.     Freshman: I loved timber springs. The teachers really do care about there students and want the best for them. My teachers have gone above and beyond what was needed for me and even took in my strengths and weaknesses. They never told me they did not believe in me or anything inappropriate and they ended up making my life so much better. They gave me someone to talk to and a shoulder to cry on when things happened. They reminded me that I am not alone and always put my mental health first. Whenever I was struggling in a class or anything the teachers would take me aside to help me or offer help outside of class. When I wasn’t struggling they encouraged me and told me what a bright future I had. People have never been the nicest to me and I always had someone to talk to at TSMS. There was some things I didn’t like about the school however. One thing was their lack of compassion when rules where broken. But overall it was a beautiful clean and kind school.     The teachers really helped prepare him for high school where he is now excelling in AP and honor courses. Communication is strong at Chiles. The school uses excellent tools to inform parents about their children’s academics, behavior, attendance, etc.
    While at Chiles, my son was able to take many high school courses on campus and in virtual school.
    As far as extra-curricular activities, Chiles has plenty in which to be involved. For students, there are plenty of clubs and sports. The sports teams are very competitive, especially the cross country and track teams, and volleyball, especially the girl’s volleyball!
    For parents, PTSA is really engaged in many ways. Also, parents are able to get involved via the School Advisory Committee (SAC).

   Parent: We live in Windermere opted for Howard instead of our zoned school. Because it is a magnet school for visual and performing arts, the number of creative electives a student can choose from, such as Law, Dance, Photography or Guitar, is much better than standard OCPS. The STEM teacher is a 2018 OCPS “Teacher of the Year” recipient. The culture at the school is vibrant, because the students and teachers choose to be there, and that is quite different from a school where you have to be there. The school was built in 1926. We like the traditional building – like a “Rydell High” – and love the fact that the school has a dedicated auditorium (separate from the cafeteria) for the fantastic theatrical productions. Last year, the theater department put on “James and the Giant Peach,” it blew us away how good it was. For the 2018 school year, Howard is 100% magnet.    Freshman: I loved timber springs. The teachers really do care about there students and want the best for them. My teachers have gone above and beyond what was needed for me and even took in my strengths and weaknesses. They never told me they did not believe in me or anything inappropriate and they ended up making my life so much better. They gave me someone to talk to and a shoulder to cry on when things happened. They reminded me that I am not alone and always put my mental health first. Whenever I was struggling in a class or anything the teachers would take me aside to help me or offer help outside of class. When I wasn’t struggling they encouraged me and told me what a bright future I had. People have never been the nicest to me and I always had someone to talk to at TSMS. There was some things I didn’t like about the school however. One thing was their lack of compassion when rules where broken. But overall it was a beautiful clean and kind school.
