Preschool — St.
Martin of Tours Episcopal Church
St. Martin’s Preschool is currently accepting applications for the 2022-2023 school year. Please call (423) 855-1011 for more information and to schedule your tour.
The preschool consists of two programs: Beginnings for children ages 1 and 2 and Preschool for 3, 4 and 5-year-olds. Classes can be from one to five mornings per week, depending on the age of the child. For more information, please contact [email protected] or call (423) 855-1011.
About Beginnings
One-year-olds attend Beginnings one morning per week. Two-year-olds attend two mornings per week, and parents can choose between Mondays and Fridays or Tuesdays and Thursdays. The schedule is as follows:
1-year-old “Baby Day” classes are Wednesdays 9 a.m.-12 p.m.
2-year-old classes are Mondays 9 a.m.-12 p.m. & Fridays 9 a.m.-2 p.m. or
Tuesdays 9 a.m.-2 p.m. & Thursdays 9 a.m.-12 p.m.
There are 8 children in 1’s and 10 children in 2’s, with 2 teachers in each class. Our student-teacher ratios are better than the State of Tennessee standards. The Beginnings classes are taught by two great teachers, Mrs. Allison Creasey and Mrs. Andrea Lee. They bring to Beginnings great love and affection for the children, as well as invaluable knowledge and years of experience with preschoolers. They were also former Saint Martin’s Preschool parents!
About Preschool
After the 2-year-old Beginnings class, the children graduate to 3 and then 4-5 year-old Preschool. For three-year-olds, parents can choose between two or three mornings per week. For four and five-year-olds, parents can choose between three and five mornings per week. The schedule is as follows:
Two-day 3-year-old classes are Tuesdays & Thursdays 9 a.m.-12 p.m.
Three-day 3 and 4 + 5-year-old classes are Mondays, Wednesdays, & Fridays 9 a.m.-12 p.m.
Five-day 4 +5 year-old classes are Mondays-Fridays 9 a.m.-12 p.m.
All classes have the option of early care beginning at 8 a. m. each day and/or “Stay & Play” 12-2 p.m. on Tuesdays and Fridays.
All of the preschool teachers have college degrees, some have more than one degree, and all have at least 18 hours of in-service training each year. The 3 and 4 + 5-year-old classes feature a departmentalized format, an educational experience unique to our preschool. When the child arrives, he/she has directed free play time to relax, see friends, and expend some energy. They have the opportunity to play with any of the other 3 and 4 + 5-year-olds who come to school on that day. They may also choose any center, from cars and trucks to painting to dress-up to roller racers, and more. Both small and gross motor skills are addressed. These centers change daily for variety in the learning experience. After tidying up, we have an announcement time in which we discuss the weather, calendar, current events, birthdays, etc. The preschooler then goes to his/her homeroom class with his/her age group. If, for example, the child is a 5-day 4-year-old, his homeroom teacher is Ms. Owensby. He will start with a snack and then have Ms. Owensby’s Art class. Then he will visit Ms. Turnure for Music, followed by Ms. Goss’s Pre-reading and Math class. Weather permitting, 3’s and 4-5’s then go outside. The daily schedule changes to accommodate chapel on Monday and Tuesday, cooking and parties, as well as field trips for 4 + 5-year-olds, and other special events.
For more information about Saint Martin’s Preschool, please call (423) 855-1011 or email the director, Kathy McNabb, at [email protected].
How to choose care Martina Gebhardt
Unusual, unusual German cosmetics Martina Gebhardt breaks patterns. Even for oily skin with inflammation, Martina recommends fairly thick dense textures of creams. No foams and washings “to the squeak” for you! Cleansing milk only – for all skin types.
With such unusual cosmetics, a selection cheat sheet is required. And we created it! We were helped by the beauty revolutionary Alyona Eco and . .. Martina herself, who developed a convenient table for selecting facial care. It remains to strain the gyrus to translate from German and to present everything in a convenient and structured way. Save to bookmarks!
Still not sure if you need to pick up something from Martina Gebhardt? Let’s do a little test. Each positive answer means – it is necessary!
- You have oily skin and are struggling with breakouts.
- You have dry, sensitive skin prone to irritation and redness.
- You are unhappy that your skin is losing its healthy, fresh, youthful appearance.
- Everything is tip-top, but the child is prone to atopy.
In the table you will find answers to your questions – the products from which line “Sage”, “Shea Butter”, “Rose”, “Ginseng”, “Happy Age” (sometimes this) will be useful for solving your skin problems . And we have collected life hacks on how to facilitate the selection of funds and how to use them better.
Martina Gebhardt beauty hacks:
- Cleansing for all skin types. Martina always has milk. To make the milk remove makeup without residue, apply it on your face with wet or dry hands, massage your face a little. Soak a small towel in very warm water – press the towel against your face. Hold for 15-20 seconds. Then gently pat the towel over your skin. Repeat if necessary. Refresh your face with tonic.
- Alyona Eco recommends adjusting the temperature of the water in which you wet the towel: for sensitive skin, it is better not to use too hot water.
- Oily skin prone to breakouts. Your line is Sage, it was with it that Martina Gebhardt cosmetics began. If you can’t stand very thick, oily textures, or if you’re picking up a cream for the summer, go for a milk rather than a cream. If you like the concept of a fat-free night care, try
- Sensitive, reactive skin. Your line is Shea Butter. It contains not only essential oils, but also beeswax loved by Martina, as well as alcohol. Allergens are completely removed, the compositions are minimalistic. If the skin is too reactive, try the whole line: washing – toning – moisturizing to avoid unnecessary ingredients.
- When switching to Martina Gebhardt care for the first week or two, you may feel roughness of the skin – this is a natural process of adaptation of the skin to the new care system. Do not be afraid of him, soon everything will pass.
- If you have normal or dry skin, but there are single pimples, you can use the Sage tonic for patchy application.
- If you have mature, demanding, but sensitive skin, we recommend using a mix from the Shea Butter (cleansing) and Happy Age (moisturizing, nourishing) lines.
- Children. For atopics, the Shea Butter cream is recommended. For children with sensitive and reactive skin, it is worth trying Calendula creams (for skin prone to allergies) and/or Calendula Super Protection.
- Eyelid skin: the cream is much thicker and more nourishing. The fluid is more familiar to the skin around the eyes, and can be recommended from the age of 25.
- Hands. Milk is the go-to remedy. If your hands need restoration, getting rid of cracks and scratches, then it is better to choose a cream.
It remains only to recall that Martina Gebhardt is a biodynamic cosmetics, its effectiveness is based on a deep knowledge of the healing power of plants and the importance of the time and place of their collection, as well as processing methods.
You can buy from a distributor or in a 4fresh hypermarket.

If you want beautiful smooth skin, say NO to night cream!
This is such a defiant title I prepared for this article!
But first, hello, beauties!
I will say right away that this article is unscheduled. Actually, I was preparing two articles at the moment – one on the topic of hair dyes and the analysis of their ingredients, the second on the topic of cleansing the skin after 30. But lately it turned out that more and more often I get asked questions about the concept – unsmearing the cream on the face at night.
If you want to have smooth, trouble-free skin, don’t put on night cream.
They ask a lot and often. In the comments, in emails, live))) So I decided to put all my thoughts together and write a post about it.
If you are new to the blog and have not yet read my articles, like Golden Rules for healthy matte skin or 5 tips for oily skin care , then from reading the information below you will most likely be, to put it mildly, in the first minutes shock. But I ask you to give yourself time and think about this information in a calm environment, open yourself to new things and close the usual brainwashing channels (such as advertising or eloquent statements on cosmetic packages)
How to properly care for your skin and how the cosmetics industry has changed the way we think about skin care over the last couple of decades can be discussed for hours. The following is clear:
- Despite the huge increase in cleansing and skin care products, skin problems such as dermatitis, allergies, acne, psoriasis are also on the rise
- Despite the “improvement” of the compositions of cleansing gels and foams, creams and masks, the skin does not get better, but only drier
- Despite the introduction of more and more innovative skin care products to the market every year, wrinkles and pimples are not less, but only more
Something is wrong here…
Our skin, like any other organ, is a very intelligent organ. To describe all the functions of the skin, you need a separate article. But one thing is clear: the skin is the first part of our body that is in direct contact with the outside world. It, like a reliable “packaging”, protects us from cold, heat, solar radiation and other so-called “introductions from the outside”, for example, bacteria and microbes.
At the same time, the skin on the whole human body is the same skin, with the same structure. Well, except for the feet and hands. Doesn’t it seem strange to you that you use thirty-three creams for different parts of the body?
This, of course, is also a topic for a separate post. But the fact remains that most of us have these thirty-three creams on the shelf. And the main reason for this is one – the cosmetics industry makes money on it. While you are losing…
After all, by washing and smearing the skin twice a day, also with more effective means, you are being introduced into the algorithms of such smart skin, preventing it from working on its own!
Oily night creams especially interfere with skin function. At night, at rest, our skin enters the phase of excretion of toxins (which, by the way, are water-soluble!) from the skin and the regeneration phase, in which it renews its cells. Nothing should stop her! If you apply a greasy cream to your skin in the evening, you not only take away its ability to moisturize itself, but also prevent it from removing all the toxins!
I’ll tell you the truth: scientists have not yet figured out how much such an implant can harm the skin. Maybe everything is even much more serious…
In short, the following symptoms can serve as clear signs that something is wrong in your skincare routine, and the signals to refuse the nightly “greasy” skin care routine:
- Face looks swollen in the morning
- In the morning you see even more wrinkles in the mirror than in the evening
- Sutra shiny and oily skin
- On the skin of the sutra you find small (and not very) pustules
- Skin quickly becomes oily during the day
- The skin, on the contrary, dries quickly during the day
- Skin shrinks after washing, as if all moisture had been sucked out of it
But avoiding the night cream can only be successful if you use either cleansing milk, or cleansing cream, or just oil to cleanse your skin in the evening, as in Skin Cleansing Oil . In general, something that does not foam. In general, I advise everyone to abandon cleansing gels and foams! It doesn’t matter how the product foams, strong or weak, if it foams, then it contains surfactants. And surfactants dry out the skin. All!
The milk will remove make-up, cleanse the skin of cometics and dust, without disturbing its lipid membrane, which means without being introduced into its algorithms.
Well, you see, it’s kind of stupid to remove “fat” from the skin, and then apply it again in the form of a cream?
In the morning, water is enough for washing – the toxins that the skin releases at night, as I said, are water-soluble, and can be easily washed off with just warm water. (Unless, of course, you loaded coal all night!) The sebum that your skin secretes at night is a natural phenomenon. If you try to constantly degrease your skin, it will begin to secrete more and more sebum, or it will stop secreting it, and the skin will be even drier.
Incidentally, I’m not the first to come to this conclusion. Some organic cosmetics companies with years of experience are already using this skin care philosophy, and very successfully!
e.g. Dr. Hauschka . The company offers Cleansing Cream (if the skin is without decorative cosmetics) or Makeup Remover Milk for cleansing the skin. Evening skin care also includes Facial Tonic and various courses (for different skin conditions). More about care Dr. Hauschka you can read in the official booklet, which you can download here – Dr. Hauschka.
Treatments for various skin conditions refer to Dr. Hauschka
Another firm promoting this care is Martina Gebhard . The philosophy of the company is such that for the night after washing the skin with milk, nothing is needed for the corresponding type of face, since the milk is quite oily and nourishing. Here about Martina Gebhard .
Martina Gebhard’s philosophy of cosmetics also for cream-free night care!
And most recently, in 2010, the developer of cosmetics Martina Gebhard created another line of luxury organic cosmetics SensiSana , in which she combined the philosophy of her company with the research of the famous Masaru Emoto, who proved the molecular memory of water and changes water crystals with various methods.
