Top-10 places – where to go with children in New York

The Big Apple has an incredible number of places that are not only interesting, but also must-see. When traveling with children, you want to make your vacation not only educational, but also memorable and interesting for the whole family, which means you should diversify the route by visiting the “children’s” attractions of New York. I want to bring to your attention 10 places that will be of interest to all girls and boys, as well as their parents.

Stores

1. FAO Schwarz toy store in NYC – Home Alone 2 – Lost in New York was filmed in this toy store. It was FAO Schwarz who so zealously defended the little, brave Kevin. In reality, the store doesn’t look quite like it does in the movies. I can’t say if it’s better or worse, perhaps more modern. However, it can be said with confidence that the most pleasant impressions await both children and adults here. FAO Schwarz often arrange holidays for their little customers, the store regularly hosts performances by animators, competitions for children and their parents. The variety of toys is able to amaze the imagination of all little spoilers. In addition, there is a special atmosphere – joy and magic. True, there is one minus – children cannot be pulled out of there, at least without purchases – for sure.

2.M&M’S World in Times Square is the largest M&M’S store in the world. An incredible variety of varieties of sweets, known and loved by many, the brand. Souvenirs, clothes, unusual toys, in a word – a paradise for children. By the way, shopping is also recommended for adults by the authors of many city guides, and is included in the Times Square tour program by many guides. Almost a landmark of New York, so it will be interesting for tourists of all ages to look at the candy miracle of M&M’S.

Museums

3. The American Museum of Natural History is a must-see for travelers of all ages. Included in the Top 5 most famous museums in New York. Returning to the topic of cinema, it was here that the film “Night at the Museum” was filmed, all the heroes that the audience loved – revived exhibits – are presented in exhibition halls. But, of course, this is not the main reason to visit the museum. Dinosaur skeletons, an Indian hall, a space section, and many other halls are of interest to everyone without exception. Of particular note is the Planetarium. You probably won’t see this anywhere else.

4. Intrepid Sea Air Space Museum – a museum of military equipment, navy and space technology. Here, children will be able to see what a real submarine looks like from the inside, sit in the cockpit of a fighter, “fly” on simulators of the most jet fighters in the United States, and see space shuttles. Based on my own experience and the experience of our tourists, I can safely say that the museum causes the same delight in both children and adults.

5. Ripley’s Belive it or not – Mr. Ripley’s Museum of Wonders. What is not here – the most unusual people (a bearded woman, the ugliest person in the world, a half person), and the incredible achievements of science, and the most unusual incidents in history, and unusual objects (for example, things raised from the Titanic, part of the Berlin Wall , souvenirs from space, a fragment of a meteorite). Perhaps this is the most fun and at the same time one of the most informative museums in the world. There are several surprises waiting for you in the museum that will make you laugh and will be remembered for a long time. If you do not speak English, I recommend bringing an interpreter with you, as there are no organized tours, and if you speak the language, you can enjoy this attraction museum even more.

6. Madame Tussauds Museum – Madame Tussauds Wax Museum. Great entertainment for the whole family. It contains figures of the great people of the world: politicians, movie and show business stars, superheroes from films, as well as several entertainment attractions for children. The figures look very realistic. The main thing you should not forget before going to the museum is a charged camera. In the photo, it is difficult to distinguish wax figures from real people. The museum gives special pleasure to those who like to take pictures.

Zoo

7. The Bronx Zoo is New York’s largest and most famous zoo. More than 4000 individuals from all over the world. One of the best places in the city to visit with the whole family.

8. Central Park Zoo – although not as big as the Bronx Zoo, it is located in the heart of the city. For the fun of little guests, all conditions are created here. In the zoo you will see penguins, polar bears, exotic animals. And in autumn and winter, an excursion to the Zoo can be combined not only with a walk in Central Park, where it is located, but also with a visit to the skating rink, one of the most famous in the city.

Broadway Shows

9. The Lion King – The Lion King musical. To visit New York and not go to a Broadway musical is, one might say, a crime. The Lion King, based on the Disney cartoon, is recognized as the best Broadway show. Plus, in order to enjoy the spectacle, knowledge of the language is not important – for most of the performance, the actors emit “calls of the jungle”, and the plot is easily revealed in dances and music. Whether or not to go to a musical without children is a moot point, I would still recommend this show for young viewers more than for adults.

10. Spider-Man, Turn Off The Dark – Spider-Man. A show that is breathtaking. During the performance, the actors fly over the heads of the audience, excellent special effects, very colorful and really impressive. An interesting fact: at the first performances, many viewers came to see how the actors fall, falling off the safety ropes. The fact is that almost the entire show is held at its best, and at first, the actors often fell from the scenery, which gave no small pleasure to the bloodthirsty audience. However, in the last year, there were no falls – apparently experience and dexterity took over the height. The show is impressive, including the risks that the artists take. It is worth coming here both for the pleasure of children and for a real spectacle worthy of Broadway.
