I love Lighthouse Academy!!! The best teachers and staff in a great environment! My kids LOVE all of you lovely ladies! Thank you for everything you all do daily to care for my children!

Sarah Chilelli

All three of our kids attend Lighthouse and we LOVE it there! It’s amazing the things my 4 year old preschooler has learned! We’re keeping him at LH for kindergarten and we’re certain he will be more than prepared for 1st grade public school.

Rebecca Lee

Lighthouse has changed my perspective of a daycare. It not only made me feel at ease where my boys will be at when I’m at work but it makes them feel comfortable to wake up every morning and WANT to go to school. Lighthouse is like our second family. The staff is so considerate and caring for my boys. From the very first moment walking into lighthouse I fell in love with everything, not just because it was brand new but because there is so much space for the children in each room. Especially the basement that is fully finished for them to play and run around on cold and rainy days when they can’t go outside. Considering that I’m a mother of a 4 1/2 & 3 year old I’m blessed to have them in lighthouse academy.

Candice

Lighthouse is a true gem! All four of my daughters attend Lighthouse and are flourishing from the care and instruction they receive.

This place is truly a beacon for young minds and I am confident that my girls’ start here will give them skills that will guide them throughout their lives. And of course their day is brightened by Ms. Kate’s smile as they enter each morning.

Jennifer Widd

We couldn’t be happier with Lighthouse’s location, building amenities, and most importantly, its staff. We know our children are cared for, loved, educated, and truly enjoy their time at Lighthouse.

Noelle Fahey

When we selected Lighthouse, we didn’t know how much the teachers would come to care for our daughter. It’s been this intangible quality that has made Lighthouse the perfect choice for us. The way the Lighthouse staff treats, cares for, respects and truly loves our little one is invaluable. Alicia loves them all back and we couldn’t envision her being anywhere else!

Today, on October 6, in Nizhny Novgorod, the grand opening of a new cultural and educational center – the Academy “Mayak” named after. A. D. Sakharova. The project was implemented by the State Corporation Rosatom together with the government of the Nizhny Novgorod Region. The opening ceremony was attended by a correspondent of the news agency “Vremya N”.

The Mayak Academy is located in the restored house No. 11 on the Nizhne-Volzhskaya embankment. The building of the trading house of the Rukavishnikov Bank complex was erected according to the project of the architect F. O. Shekhtel in 1911-1913. In Soviet times, the building housed a sewing enterprise, which turned into the Mayak production association.

Now, on the site of the cultural and educational center, qualified personnel for the nuclear and other strategic industries will be trained. Mayak will attract engineers, entrepreneurs, IT specialists and scientists.

The renovated building will host conferences and championships of the nuclear industry, educational events of the Russian society “Knowledge”, the Russian Academy of Sciences, the Educational Center “Sirius”, ANO “Russia – the Land of Opportunities”, the State Corporation “Rosatom”, the government of the Nizhny Novgorod Region. Not only employees of nuclear industry enterprises, but also residents of the region, teachers and lecturers, schoolchildren and students will be able to attend the events.

“First of all, this is our corporate personnel center, a center for training managers, specialists who will not only have knowledge and skills, but also be able to live and work in a system of uncertainty, and, therefore, not work according to a single plan, but apply a scenario approach and creative attitude to their tasks. It is important for us that other Nizhny Novgorod enterprises join the corporate core of Rosatom. We would like Nizhny Novgorod residents, those who tied their fate with this region, to become full-fledged participants in our initiatives and projects. We are especially glad to see students and schoolchildren here who will absorb history and love for their country here,” said Alexei Likhachev, Director General of Rosatom State Corporation.

Governor of the Nizhny Novgorod Region Gleb Nikitin noted that Mayak now sparkled, and the building itself has become an object admired not only by Nizhny Novgorod residents, but also by guests of the city.

“We all remember very well the state of this building back in 2018-2019. Now the unique architectural monument has been restored, Mayak sparkled with new colors and will once again become one of the most significant objects of Nizhny Novgorod’s “river facade”. The most important thing is that we managed not only to restore the walls and restore the building, but also to breathe life into it,” Nikitin noted.

Minister of Education of the Russian Federation Sergey Kravtsov also congratulated the citizens of Nizhny Novgorod on the opening of a new space. He sent a letter and wished the center prosperity.

“Thanks to the support of the State Corporation Rosatom, another significant educational center appears in Nizhny Novgorod. I am sure that it will contribute to the training of highly qualified personnel for our nuclear industry. The site will become a real attraction for young and talented professionals. I wish prosperity to this wonderful center,” the minister wrote.

Aleksey Komissarov, General Director of ANO “Russia – Land of Opportunities”, spoke at the opening ceremony. He thanked Rosatom, the administration of the Nizhny Novgorod Region and the Russian Academy of Sciences for supporting the projects of ANO “Russia is a Land of Opportunities.

“The opening of the Mayak Academy is a big event for our platform. The Nizhny Novgorod region is special for us. A large number of events take place here, and Nizhny Novgorod residents are actively involved in our projects. Everything that takes place in Nizhny Novgorod is held at the highest level. The fact that now we have the opportunity to hold events not only for Nizhny Novgorod residents, but also for residents of the whole country is great news. I wish Mayak to shine throughout the country,” added Komissarov.

Now on the second floor of the new space there is an exhibition “Andrei Sakharov – Academician of the World”. On the walls are photographs from different periods of the scientist’s life.

In addition, various forums will be held on the territory of the cultural and educational center on September 6 and 7. For example, the People and Cities community forum has already started today. Also today, Alexei Likhachev, Gleb Nikitin and Alexei Komissarov met with members of the Elbrus Club.

Tomorrow, October 7, there will be a meeting with the educational and scientific community on the topic – “Scientific career for today’s youth.” There will also be an awards ceremony for the “Istok” award to them. Academician I. V. Petryanov-Sokolov.

It is worth noting that the building has really become modern. Now Mayak is spacious bright rooms, comfortable co-working spaces and conference rooms. After the restoration, cafes, libraries and various exhibition spaces were equipped there.

Recall that in November 2021, on World Science Day, a solemn ceremony was held to award the Academy “Mayak” named after academician A. D. Sakharov.

0067 Academy “Mayak” named after Andrei Dmitrievich Sakharov.
Also present at the opening ceremony were Aleksey Likhachev, Director General of Rosatom State Corporation, Aleksey Komissarov, Director General of ANO Russia — Land of Opportunities, and Tatyana Terentyeva, Deputy Director General for Personnel of Rosatom State Corporation.

“To mark the 800th anniversary of Nizhny Novgorod, many different projects were implemented, including landscaping, restoration, and reconstruction of objects, which, of course, influenced the change in the image of the city. Among these objects were significant – epoch-making, flagship. The reconstruction of Mayak was just such a flagship project. We all remember very well what state this building was in back in 2018-2019years. Now the unique architectural monument has been restored, Mayak sparkled with new colors and will again become one of the most significant objects of the “river facade” of Nizhny Novgorod. The most important thing is that it was possible not only to restore the walls and restore the building, but also to breathe life into it. Now it is a real “beacon”, which will guide a number of urban communities and projects,” — Gleb Nikitin told .

The Mayak Academy is a joint project of the government of the Nizhny Novgorod Region and Rosatom State Corporation, bringing together representatives of scientific youth, leading scientists and the educational community of the whole country.

“We have identified three main areas of work for the Mayak Academy. First of all, this is our corporate personnel center, a center for training managers, specialists who will not only have knowledge and skills, communicate with other people, but also be able to live and work in a system of uncertainty, which means not to work according to a single plan, but to apply scenario approach and creative attitude to their tasks. In addition, it is important for us that other Nizhny Novgorod enterprises join the corporate core of Rosatom. We would like Nizhny Novgorod residents and those who tied their fate with this region to become full-fledged participants in our initiatives and projects. And, of course, it was very important to get the consent of the presidential platform “Russia – the Land of Opportunities” to include the site of the Mayak Academy in federal projects. This is our contribution to the development and sovereignty of our country. In today’s world, independence is more important than ever. We must not only be proud of our culture and know history, but also develop and pass on our knowledge to those who study today in schools and higher educational institutions. We are especially glad to see students and schoolchildren in these walls, who will absorb history here, love for their country, desire for it to flourish and develop” , – said Alexey Likhachev .

As part of the events timed to coincide with the opening of the cultural and educational center, the community forum “People and Cities” is being held at the site of the Mayak Academy. Also on October 6, Gleb Nikitin, Alexei Likhachev and Alexei Komissarov met with members of the Elbrus club, created by the winners of the Leaders of Russia contest.

“The opening of the Mayak Academy is a great event for the platform “Russia is a Land of Opportunities” for several reasons: firstly, the Governor of the Nizhny Novgorod Region Gleb Sergeevich Nikitin, the General Director of the State Corporation Rosatom Alexei Evgenievich Likhachev and Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Alexander Mikhailovich Sergeev are mentors of our flagship project “Leaders of Russia” and invest their time, effort and knowledge in the education of graduates of our projects.
