LakeShore Summer Camp -2022
Curriculum: Academic, Social, and Vocational Skills Reinforcement.
Participants: Highschool aged students with a focus on academic and/or job readiness
Date/Time: June 20 – July 21 (Monday – Thursday),
9am-2pm

Camp Description
At this time LakeShore will only provide services to our junior high and high school aged students. We hope to offer a full spectrum of services in the future, but in the meantime our focus is to provide a quality program for students who will benefit from vocational training.
Junior High – High School Camp
This program is designed for students 13 years or older who would benefit from academic, social, and vocational reinforcement over summer break. This program is designed with a focus on academic reinforcement and introduce vocational training opportunities.
Vocational Training Camp
This program is meant for students 17 years or older who are on a path towards employment. Participants in this program will focus on experiencing and developing a variety of vocational skills, understanding work place responsibilities, learning social skills at work while reinforcing academics in the classroom.
ALL PARTICIPANTS MUST BE ABLE TO:
-Wear a mask, masks will be required to be worn in vehicles.
-Understand and respond to social distancing requests
-Independently complete all self-help needs (eating, toileting, etc.)
-Wash hands / sanitize regularly
Aides/Support Staff:
Please keep in mind that if a student requires an aide throughout the school year, whether it is listed on their IEP or not, it is a good idea for them to have an aide during the summer. LakeShore can provide a 1:1 aide for an additional cost.

- Complete with signature and return to LakeShore via email or send in the first day of camp.
- We will not be able to accept your child at camp without this signed Intake Form.
Extended School Year Services
If your child will receive ESY services, your school district must submit the ESY Services Form and 4th quarter IEP Progress Report with highlighted goals by May 20th.
- Please have the conversation with your school district EARLY regarding ESY.
- Your school district should have received this ESY Services Form, however if you would like to take it with your to your ESY meeting, it is available for download above or in the box to the right
- The 4th quarter IEP Progress Report and highlighted goals ensures that our teachers have the necessary information on each camper prior to the start of camp and can implement proper instruction on the first day.

Twilight Camp – Betsy Cutler Girl Scout House, North Muskegon Price TBA – 5:30 – 8 PM. Fill out the interest form. You do not need to be in a Girl Scout troop to participate but you do need to register as a Girl Scout ($25-$35 to register as a Girl Scout for the year).

Camp Curious Day Camps at Grand Rapids Public Museum for Pre-K to High School kids.
Sports n’ Shorts – SIGNUPS NOT YET UP FOR 2022. FREE. 7/11/22-8/11/22. Monday-Thursday 9 am-12 pm (5 weeks). Must live in Muskegon Twp, Fruitland Tp, Montague Twp, Whitehall Twp, Laketon Twp, Dalton Twp, or City of Whitehall or City of Montague. A fun mix of learning and outdoor activities for ages 5-12. Certified staff will lead children in sports, arts and crafts, games, reading activities and special programs each day. This summer all sites still qualify for free lunch! Lunch will also be offered to all children 17and younger every day the program is in session. Visit the park closest to you when the program begins to find out when lunch is served. This is a free program that is supported and paid for by your city, township or village! You must live in the township in which your park is located to enroll your child at that park.

Educational /STEM Camps
Environworks – at The Lakeshore Museum Center. Ages 6 – 11. July 25 – 29, 2021 – 9:15am-11:45pm each day. The museum’s annual summer camp is back! Enviroworks is for children ages 6-11 who are interested in science and history. This year’s camp will include a program based on our newest exhibit, Dangerous Things, a taxidermy program, learning about the fur traders of Michigan and cornstarch science among other topics and activities.
STEM WorkShops – at the Lakeshore Museum Center. Ages 8-15. STEM WorkShops are a half-day program that focuses on a specific topic in a STEM field each session.
This half-day camp will give learners an opportunity to learn about the topic, see demonstrations, and construct their own experiments or designs. June 15, 22, and 29, 9am – 12pm each day
