Parents Reviews About Us

Updated review. Tonight we visited for a friend’s birthday and Sabrina was super friendly and informative. Top notch customer service!

cannot stress enough how much I love this school! I moved my daughter from three schools prior to this one. We recently moved out of the area and I still chose to drive 20 minutes out of my way just to keep her here .

My son had been attending Newport Ave Preschool for a year and a half now and is currently in the Pre-k class.

We 100% recommend this school and will truly miss our Newport Avenue Prescool days!

I took my child to an ordinary and private kindergarten and realized that they are as different from each other as heaven and earth / Bright Side

Parents are always a little worried when sending their child to kindergarten, because it is not easy to entrust strangers with watching their child. Modern mothers and fathers have many options for where to place the baby, but very often the question arises between choosing a private and public kindergarten.

My name is Polina, and for Bright Side I will tell you about the experience of visiting a regular garden and why I chose a private institution. nine0003

State kindergarten

Our family was in line for a place in kindergarten, and we got it when the child was 1. 5 years old. In September, we came to the nursery group. On the 1st day, the baby came in calmly, stayed there for an hour and safely left home with me. Already on the 2nd day, he realized that things were not clean, and when approaching building , his son began to have a tantrum , which then happened every morning.

Parents were not allowed in the garden further than the dressing room, on the very first day I handed him over to the nanny and left to his desperate cries. In the playroom outside the door, a group of 25 kids was also crying – in general, the situation is the same. Every day it was necessary to pick up the child later and later – this is how the adaptation went.

In a week we reached 12:00 – the end time for lunch. Son every day came out all teary, hungry, anxious . The teachers said, nothing, he will get used to it soon. But I didn’t have the strength to look at it, and I took the child from the kindergarten for 6 months. We returned there when our son was 2 years old. nine0003

For the next six months, the child went to kindergarten for half a day

We continued to go to the same group, I also picked up the child at 12:00. The fact is that our day regimen did not correspond to the kindergarten regime, it was impossible to get up before 8 in the morning, so every day we were late for the prescribed 8:20. Coming later than everyone else, I often heard the teachers talking in raised tones , but everyone continued to smile in my face. nine0003

I did not see any results in the development of the child during my visit to the kindergarten. To be honest, the children are simply supervised there: they walk, feed according to the schedule and put to bed. But there are no complaints about this: with so many kids, it is not surprising that there is neither the strength nor the time to train . When other parents and I asked the children what they were doing, they said they were playing hide-and-seek and eating.

Manger walks

I didn’t like that in winter the children were poorly dressed outside. I repeatedly took the child from a morning walk in a jacket worn just over a T-shirt, without a sweater. And several times, out of the kindness of her soul, the teacher sent parents a video from a walk in the chat, where we watched our children flaunt in untied hats, in jackets open, without mittens and without scarves.

For this reason or not, the kids were often sick, and so was mine. For a week we went to the garden, for 2 weeks we sat at home. In an ordinary garden, I once complained to the manager that the child was dressed coldly, and they began to dress him normally. But the teacher turned out to be vindictive . When spring came, on a very warm day she sent a photo from her walk to the general chat. I was dumbfounded: my son was standing in a winter jacket among the guys in light blouses.

Discontent grew slowly but surely

One girl in the group complained to her parents that “aunt swung at her” , there were showdowns at the head. Immediately in the parent chat it turned out that it was to this teacher that all the children did not want to go and cry at the sight of her (my son also did this regularly), and also many children began to be afraid of the pot. From which we concluded that they, apparently, were put there by force.

I still could not make up my mind to leave the child here for a quiet hour, I was afraid that he would resist daytime sleep, run away, play. And I assumed that he would be scolded and punished, but I would not know anything about this, because the child had not really spoken yet. nine0003

Point of no return

© Gala Kovalchuk / Shutterstock

We decided to leave the usual garden, after one morning I lingered in the locker room and saw through the crack that my son was pushed a plate of another boy with half-eaten porridge and fed 90 with his used spoon . My husband and I took the child from the garden, but we had to find where to take him now.

I already planned to work full-time — the child was 3 years old. Our grandmothers live in other cities and are busy with their own lives, so there would be no way to attract them. The services of a professional babysitter turned out to be too expensive, especially since I did not want a stranger to be uncontrollably in our house. nine0003

I started looking for a private garden near my house

© Gala Kovalchuk / Shutterstock

My criteria were a group of up to 10 people, video surveillance, a closed area, the ability to bring and pick up a child at any time, not by the minute, professional educators , quality food, versatile classes, including with a speech therapist and in English with a native speaker. After all, with age, learning languages is more difficult, so it’s better not to postpone and start from childhood. nine0003

It may seem like a lot, but in fact was the minimum , that could be presented. Indeed, in many private gardens there are cool gyms, their own playgrounds, psychologists, the study of oriental languages, a theater, a swimming pool, and salt rooms. But the price for goods begins to grow exponentially.

How did you decide on the garden

© vodolej / Depositphotos.com

The garden where we stayed was the third one where we went on a tour. In the first case, the lack of a fenced area was embarrassing, the children were taken out for a walk just to the courtyard of a residential building, and in the second place, there were too many children in the younger group.

In our garden they showed the kitchen, laundry room, bathroom, massage room, assembly hall, speech therapist, methodologist and group rooms. Everywhere was a modern renovation. True, there was no separate bedroom – during quiet hours, beds were placed in the playroom, which at other times were stacked on top of each other in the pantry. nine0003

Difficulty adapting

© vodolej / Depositphotos.com

In a private garden, they try to make children easily adapt to it, so the child gets used to the garden with his mother . I went to the group with my son for a few hours. But the kindergarten is interested in the child going full-time, because of the difference in pay. Yes, and I wanted him not to miss classes after a quiet hour.

Even then it was hard for me to leave him for a nap. The child was used to being picked up after dinner, and went, as always, to wait for his mother in the locker room, but then a surprise awaited him – he had to go to bed. The teachers tried to put him to bed, and he began to cry a lot and call for his mother. I saw everything in security cameras on your phone . Of course, my heart was breaking with pity. But I can say that the caregivers coped with the problem within 5 minutes, chatted and put the baby to bed.

Children here are not just sent to the bedroom and told to lie on their side, but before going to bed they read fairy tales, stay with them in the room until they fall asleep. The older ones are allowed not to sleep, but to lie in bed and look at books.

Difference of approaches

© HyperStocker / Depositphotos.com

  • What struck me in our kindergarten was the style of communication with children. They talk to him like a small but important person. In the State Gardens , the main value is discipline , and all stay in the garden is subordinated to this. Excessive activity and curiosity are not very welcomed by teachers who find it difficult to cope with a large number of children.

© Dashutka161 / Depositphotos.com, © vodolej / Depositphotos.com

  • If a child says that he is not hungry or does not want to eat something, then the teachers do not force him.
  • There are cameras with sound in our garden, and I noticed that the teachers have constant contact with the children, they call them to dialogue, activate their thought process with leading questions.
  • A simple walk can become a real adventure: kids collect a bouquet for mom, a herbarium, observe and study the laws of nature in their own yard, they can arrange dances or an English lesson in the open air. nine0140

  • Private gardens have the option to purchase on-demand items. Toys are purchased according to the interests of children of a particular group. In the state garden, at a meeting of parents, the teacher calmly stated that parents should bring any toys to the group – unnecessary, broken . So-so fun, in my opinion.
  • Physical education in the state kindergarten starts from the age of 4, in a private kindergarten – morning exercises for all children, and visiting sports clubs, such as football, dance, yoga, gymnastics, is possible from the age of 3. nine0140

What we got

© Depositphotos.com

  • Flexible schedule. Kindergarten is open on weekdays from 08:00 to 20:00. State gardens open at 07:00, but work until 19:00, and not all parents manage to pick up their children on time.
  • Group up to 8 people. For comparison: there are 28–30 of them in public gardens. Since there are few children, the nerves of the teachers are stronger. And so it happened, everyone treated their son with kindness and care. nine0140
  • Wellness treatments. After illness, children are massaged to help clear residual coughs. By the way, staff are fined for frequent illnesses of children, so they dress children better than mothers themselves.
  • 5 meals a day. The menu is posted on the bulletin board every day. The food is exceptionally healthy: cereals, soups, lots of fresh vegetables and fruits at any time of the year. Children are taught to use not only spoons, but also forks and cloth napkins. In public gardens, children have only spoons on their tables. nine0140

© Alexey Smyshlyaev / Shutterstock

  • Educational and sports activities. There is always something interesting in class. In addition to standard modeling, applications, drawing, there is also the development of unusual musical instruments, chess, robotics, scientific experiments and various sports sections. In general, after the garden, there is no need to run to mugs, separately we only go to the pool.

© potatushkina.gmail.com / Depositphotos.com, © Andreyfire / Depositphotos.com

  • Fridays – theater or fairy tale reading. Teachers put on costumes, put on a mini-show or organize a puppet show. They also have special outfits and make-up for reading fairy tales.
  • English with a native speaker. A foreigner works in our garden, she teaches classes and serves as a nanny. Children learn to find a common language with her in various everyday situations.
  • Holidays. Activities are aimed at developing abilities, a lot of time is devoted to the study of culture and the world. For example, there were “Ecological Week”, “Good manners”, “Dishes of different countries”. Animators are often invited. nine0140

© vodolej / Depositphotos.com

  • Control system. A card is issued for each child, where all his achievements and stages of development are noted. Thus, the parent gets the opportunity to track the growth of his child. My son, for example, spoke very quickly there and began to recite small rhymes.
  • The main thing is that the child goes to the garden without tears. And in the evening he talks about the events of his busy day.

Cons of private gardens

© SviatlanaLaza / Shutterstock

  • Many of them are located on the 1st floor of residential buildings. Children are taken out for a walk right into the courtyard, to the city playground, and garden is being made in the former apartment . In this case, it is better to consider modern residential complexes: it is assumed that the 1st floors go under commercial premises, and there is a fenced area.
  • When a child is ill, almost the full amount must be paid , only deduct a small amount for meals. In state kindergartens, there is no need to pay for the days when the child does not go. And with private ones – how lucky: they can put half the cost for the missed days, but they definitely won’t deduct the payment for the pass in full.
  • The public garden seems to me more reliable due to the fact that the management and employees of bear more responsibility for children . The contract with a private institution contains very vague phrases, while the contract with the state institution contains certain cases, everything is regulated. nine0140
  • Groups are mixed : both 3 years and 6 years – all together. This issue needs to be tracked right away: make sure that the groups are divided by age.
  • There are fears that a child may be overloaded with an excessive amount of information . Early development is good, but in everything you need to observe the measure.
  • Very many entertainment activities . For example, just staying at home for the weekend is boring for a child, he craves events and emotions. As a result, it turns out that such a festive life in the garden is a little divorced from reality. nine0140

Conclusion

© Depositphotos.com

This is my opinion at the moment, but maybe when the child grows up, I will treat kindergartens easier and change my mind. Now I am warmed by the thought that the baby is under my control, thanks to video surveillance, at any moment I can see what he is doing and find out what his mood is.

In any case, I believe that kindergarten is not a panacea. Parents play the main role in education and development. But he spends a lot of time in the garden, and it is important for me that he is surrounded by care and attention. As they say, the baby is calm – the mother is calm. nine0003

Do you have a smoking boyfriend or not? Or quit, if not a smoker, or negotiate. I would send to hell, because I smoke, I live as I want, I have everything of my own and I don’t depend on anyone. For mudashnyh vkukarek – I’m not thrilled with sex, I don’t drive males. Sports and travel are my everything. If a creature with eggs bleats for me, what should I do = go to x … d.

      everything is solved simply:
      1. If you want to smoke, then you continue and ask the guy shove his opinion back where he got it from.
      2. If YOU don’t want it, then the same goes for your girlfriends.
      3. If you think that neither the guy nor the girlfriend should “count” something about your choice (not only about smoking), then you gather them together and show where they should stuff their general and personal opinions. nine0297 Or 4. You continue to think that one of them or all of them can tell you what to do and how to behave and rush among opinions, continuing to think that they dishonor you one by one.
