Meet Lisa Loessberg, Our Center Director

Meet Lisa Loessberg! She is the Center Director at Thousand Oaks KinderCare in California. Lisa attended California State University – Northridge, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Child Development. She has been with KinderCare since 1991. Lisa strongly believe that children learn through play. “Children need the freedom and time to play. Play is not a luxury. Play is a necessity.” – Kay Redfield Jamison. When they’re not cheering on the LA Dodgers or San Francisco 49ers, Lisa, her husband, and her three chihuahua “fur babies” enjoy movies, country music concerts, and vacationing.

AMERICA’S MOST ACCREDITED

We’re so proud!

Nationally only 10% of daycares are accredited – nearly 100% of our learning centers are. That’s a big difference,
and that means KinderCare kids are getting the very best. Here’s why.

SCHOOL-READY

What Learning Looks Like

Our talented early-childhood teachers set kids down the path toward becoming lifelong learners in a positive, safe, and nurturing environment.

Thousand Oaks KinderCare Programs

Infant Programs (6 weeks–1 year)

Leaving your baby in someone else’s care is a big step. Everyone at our
centers—most importantly, our naturally gifted infant teachers—will work with
you to make sure the transition goes smoothly. When you step into our infant
classroom, you’ll see how much we want your infant to feel safe, loved, and
ready to explore their world.

Toddler Programs (1–2 Years)

Everything in our toddler classroom is designed for little explorers. That’s
because a lot is going on at this age. When your child is wandering all over the
place, that means they’re learning and discovering new things every day. We’ll
help them explore their interests (and find new ones!) as they play and learn.

Discovery Preschool Programs (2–3 Years)

This age is filled with so much wonder and curiosity. That’s why we offer a ton
of books and toys and bring artwork down to kids eye level. Children in
discovery preschool also begin to learn how we all work together in a
classroom. Simple math and science, pretend play, and group play help them
get used to a more structured school setting.

Preschool Programs (3–4 Years)

This age is all about expression, when kids really start to form their own ideas
about what they want to play and how they want to create. Every day in our
preschool classroom, your child will explore science experiments, create
artwork, and play pretend—all the skills needed for their big next step:
kindergarten!

Prekindergarten Programs (4–5 Years)

When you walk into one of our pre-K classrooms, you’ll see artwork and
writing displayed around the room. Labels are everywhere to help kids connect
letters with words. You’ll also see pictures on the walls that reflect the families
in our community. Your child will also deepen their knowledge in language,
math, science, Spanish, and social skills.

Transitional Kindergarten Programs (4–5 Years)

If your child finished pre-K but missed the kindergarten cutoff date, transitional
kindergarten is a great stepping stone to big-kid school. Our project-based
learning model emphasizes critical thinking, communication, and creativity.
Kids take lead roles on projects and complete them in small groups.

School Break Programs (preschool, prekindergarten, and school-age)

Winter break, spring break, summer break—when school’s out (but you still need to work), you
can count on KinderCare to provide a safe and supportive learning environment that’s focused
on fun. We welcome children ages 5–12 during school break times and make sure they have a
sensational, screen-free experience they won’t forget.

Learning Adventures – Enrichment Program

Cooking Academy™ (3 – 12 Years)

In Cooking Academy, kids learn new recipes from cultures around the world and
develop a healthy relationship with food. They’ll whip up everything from Southwest
rainbow lettuce wraps to pumpkin muffins, building their skills in STEM, communication,
and more along the way. And yes—little chefs get to eat their culinary creations!

Music Explorers™ (2 – 4 Years)

KinderCare families are already giving a standing ovation to our newest Learning
Adventures program: Music Explorers! Kids will learn to sing, move, listen, play
instruments, and even create their own tunes. Our original curriculum blends math,
science, social studies, literacy, and mindfulness (think yoga!) for a uniquely KinderCare
way of learning the foundations of music.

Phonics Adventures® (2 – 4 Years)

Learning how to read is a whole lot of fun at KinderCare! We help kids grow to love
books and words (and get ready for kindergarten) in our Phonics Adventures program.
From discovering the basics of vowels to practicing poetry, kids learn all about letters
and sounds in small-group lessons made just for their age group. (Bonus: Kids who
attend our phonics program are more prepared than their peers for school—and we
have the data to prove it.)

STEM Innovators (3-8 Years)

You’ve probably heard a lot about how important STEM education is for your child, but
what does that really mean? Our STEM Innovators program takes kids’ natural ability to
make sense of the world and applies it to robotics, chemistry, coding, geology, and
more. While your child experiments, they’ll discover how to use technology to do
amazing things!

Our Teachers

We’re the only company in early childhood education to select teachers based on natural talent. Being a great educator isn’t enough though.
KinderCare teachers are also amazing listeners, nurturers, boo-boo fixers, and smile-makers. Put more simply,
we love our teachers and your child will, too.

A KINDERCARE TEACHER WITH

An Artist’s Heart

“My classroom is full of art!” says Mary Annthipie-Bane, an award-winning early childhood educator at KinderCare. Art and creative expression, she says, help children discover who they really are.

We put our best-in-class teachers in a best-in-class workplace. We’re so proud to have been named one of Gallup’s 37 winners of the Great Workplace Award.
When you put great teachers in an engaging center, your children will experience
an amazing place to learn and grow.

Family Stories

Don’t take our word for it. Hear what our families have to say about our amazing center!

  • We are writing to let you know what a great experience Emma and Maya have had at KinderCare Thousand Oaks. The girls both entered the Baby room when they were three months old. Both developed and adjusted well under the care of Ms. Shirin and Ms. Dawn. Emma has been with the center for seven years now and she still has to visit with Ms. Shirin every day – she definitely left an impression on her. Emma and Maya have also participated in all the wonderful programs that the center has to offer: Music classes, Cooking classes, Phonics and Active Adventures. They have learned so many things, including what it’s like to have wonderful teachers! You all exceeded our expectations for daycare. We know that you are doing something great when the girls are happy to keep playing when we arrive. Thank you for providing such a warm, safe, educational and fun environment for Emma and Maya. We tell our friends what a great center you’re running. Sincerely yours, Ruby and Miguel U.

  • We’ve tried several daycare centers in the area and have finally found one that works very well with our son who has special needs. Josh has been attending this facility for approximately three years, part-time during the school year. I like that this facility is fully enclosed, has a security entrance, is clean, has summer activities, and never required that he be fully potty trained. The best part for our family, however, is the positive attitude and friendly response of all staff members. They have a great ability to work together for the total good of all kids. The best part of my day there is pick-up time, when the staff greets me with smiles, updates about my son or even inquires about how to best meet his needs. It is one thing to have a competent staff, but another to keep a professional, positive and genuinely kind attitude in spite of challenges that special needs can bring.

Moscow | More than two hundred young oak trees planted in Lianozovo

Yesterday, October 13, within the framework of the project “Lianozovo – the land of oaks: we preserve and increase!” oaks were planted on the territory of the kindergarten (school division of school No. 1573). The environmental action was supported by the district council, the Youth Chamber, municipal deputies, the Leader Center and volunteers.

Initially, 100 trees were planned to be planted on this site. Volunteers brought much more seedlings than planned, but the Lianozovo region was always happy with oaks, and they found a place for everyone!

As a reminder, the oaks were brought to Lianozovo by environmental volunteers from the Living Forests of Russia project. They also took an active part in the landing.

Now the young pupils of the kindergarten will take care of the seedlings, and when the trees grow up, they will be planted and transferred to other kindergartens and schools in the area.

A photo collage from the campaign for planting young oak trees can be viewed on the page of our council on the VKontakte social network https://vk.com/upravalianozovo .

A new contractor will complete a kindergarten in the Khabarovsk District

A new contractor will complete a kindergarten in the Khabarovsk region

Society

A new contractor will complete the construction of a kindergarten in the village of Matveevka, Khabarovsk District. Now the readiness of the educational institution, designed for 110 places, is about 53%, according to the Gubernia portal.

As recalled by the acting Minister of Construction of the Khabarovsk Territory Aleksey Dubov, the contract with the previous contractor was terminated due to a shortage of working capital, a significant increase in the cost of building materials, which affected the rise in the cost of the entire facility.

“Due to the norms of the law, it is impossible to increase the cost of the contract for this reason – over 30%. We terminated the contract with the previous contractor by virtue of the law. It was decided to conclude a contract here with a single supplier – a new contractor,” explained Alexey Dubov.

According to the plan, the three-storey building of the new kindergarten will have play and sleeping rooms, a sports hall and a music class, as well as a medical unit and administrative offices. The contractor must complete the construction of the preschool by the end of 2022.
