AMERICA’S MOST ACCREDITED

We’re so proud!

Nationally only 10% of daycares are accredited – nearly 100% of our learning centers are. That’s a big difference,
and that means KinderCare kids are getting the very best. Here’s why.

SCHOOL-READY

What Learning Looks Like

Our talented early-childhood teachers set kids down the path toward becoming lifelong learners in a positive, safe, and nurturing environment.

Kennydale KinderCare Programs

Infant Programs (6 weeks–1 year)

Leaving your baby in someone else’s care is a big step. Everyone at our
centers—most importantly, our naturally gifted infant teachers—will work with
you to make sure the transition goes smoothly. When you step into our infant
classroom, you’ll see how much we want your infant to feel safe, loved, and
ready to explore their world.

Toddler Programs (1–2 Years)

Everything in our toddler classroom is designed for little explorers. That’s
because a lot is going on at this age. When your child is wandering all over the
place, that means they’re learning and discovering new things every day. We’ll
help them explore their interests (and find new ones!) as they play and learn.

Discovery Preschool Programs (2–3 Years)

This age is filled with so much wonder and curiosity. That’s why we offer a ton
of books and toys and bring artwork down to kids eye level. Children in
discovery preschool also begin to learn how we all work together in a
classroom. Simple math and science, pretend play, and group play help them
get used to a more structured school setting.

Preschool Programs (3–4 Years)

This age is all about expression, when kids really start to form their own ideas
about what they want to play and how they want to create. Every day in our
preschool classroom, your child will explore science experiments, create
artwork, and play pretend—all the skills needed for their big next step:
kindergarten!

Prekindergarten Programs (4–5 Years)

When you walk into one of our pre-K classrooms, you’ll see artwork and
writing displayed around the room. Labels are everywhere to help kids connect
letters with words. You’ll also see pictures on the walls that reflect the families
in our community. Your child will also deepen their knowledge in language,
math, science, Spanish, and social skills.

Before- and After-School Programs (5–12 Years)

You can count on us to provide reliable care for your school-ager while you’re
at work, with safe transportation from our center to your child’s school and
back! Whether your child wants to start a drama club, build a volcano, or
create a comic book, they will have a place to follow their dreams. Your child
will start and end the day with a whole lot of fun!

Interactive Kindergarten (5–6 Years)

Kindergarten is a critical year for young learners. Experienced KinderCare teachers will
tap into your child’s natural curiosity to help get them even more prepared for
elementary school. Our engaging lessons make the most of current technology while
offering plenty of hands-on play and exploration.

School Break Programs (preschool, prekindergarten, and school-age)

Winter break, spring break, summer break—when school’s out (but you still need to work), you
can count on KinderCare to provide a safe and supportive learning environment that’s focused
on fun. We welcome children ages 5–12 during school break times and make sure they have a
sensational, screen-free experience they won’t forget.

Participating Child Care Aware Center

KinderCare partners with Child Care Aware® of America to offer fee assistance for
Active Duty military families and flexible support to fit their needs when care at a Child
Development Center on the installation is not available.

Learning Adventures – Enrichment Program

Cooking Academy™ (3 – 12 Years)

In Cooking Academy, kids learn new recipes from cultures around the world and
develop a healthy relationship with food. They’ll whip up everything from Southwest
rainbow lettuce wraps to pumpkin muffins, building their skills in STEM, communication,
and more along the way. And yes—little chefs get to eat their culinary creations!

Music Explorers™ (2 – 4 Years)

KinderCare families are already giving a standing ovation to our newest Learning
Adventures program: Music Explorers! Kids will learn to sing, move, listen, play
instruments, and even create their own tunes. Our original curriculum blends math,
science, social studies, literacy, and mindfulness (think yoga!) for a uniquely KinderCare
way of learning the foundations of music.

Phonics Adventures® (2 – 4 Years)

Learning how to read is a whole lot of fun at KinderCare! We help kids grow to love
books and words (and get ready for kindergarten) in our Phonics Adventures program.
From discovering the basics of vowels to practicing poetry, kids learn all about letters
and sounds in small-group lessons made just for their age group. (Bonus: Kids who
attend our phonics program are more prepared than their peers for school—and we
have the data to prove it.)

STEM Innovators (3-8 Years)

You’ve probably heard a lot about how important STEM education is for your child, but
what does that really mean? Our STEM Innovators program takes kids’ natural ability to
make sense of the world and applies it to robotics, chemistry, coding, geology, and
more. While your child experiments, they’ll discover how to use technology to do
amazing things!

Our Teachers

We’re the only company in early childhood education to select teachers based on natural talent. Being a great educator isn’t enough though.
KinderCare teachers are also amazing listeners, nurturers, boo-boo fixers, and smile-makers. Put more simply,
we love our teachers and your child will, too.

Meet just a few of our amazing KinderCare teachers!

A KINDERCARE TEACHER WITH

An Artist’s Heart

“My classroom is full of art!” says Mary Annthipie-Bane, an award-winning early childhood educator at KinderCare. Art and creative expression, she says, help children discover who they really are.

We put our best-in-class teachers in a best-in-class workplace. We’re so proud to have been named one of Gallup’s 37 winners of the Great Workplace Award.
When you put great teachers in an engaging center, your children will experience
an amazing place to learn and grow.

Family Stories

Don’t take our word for it. Hear what our families have to say about our amazing center!

  • Our family has had both of our children in the Kennydale KinderCare facility for the past six years. We have been very pleased with the facility, the teachers and the curriculum offered there. Last year, our five-year-old daughter participated in the Kindergarten program during the school year as she missed enrollment by three months. The program was beautifully laid out with Kindergarten curriculum and the classroom was just like you would see in a traditional school setting, not like a daycare. The “smart board” teaching method was loved by my daughter which allowed her to interact with the curriculum and her classmates in a fun environment. The kids participated in science experiments, reading, math, theme weeks, writing, and much more throughout the year. The program was extremely organized and it established a great routine for my daughter. Routine is the number one thing most children have a hard time adjusting to when entering Kindergarten for the first time. Recently, my daughter started Kindergarten in public school. Five of the students from KinderCare are in her class and the teacher took time out of her busy day to write me a note saying how impressed she was with my daughters reading skills. She’s reading at a second grade level! She also made mention that out of all of her students, the KinderCare graduates were hands down the most prepared, well acclimated kids in Kindergarten. This made me really happy as a parent—to know I made a great choice and investment in my child’s education.

  • The Teachers at Kennydale are amazing. My daughter was nervous and scared the first day I dropped her off and they made the transition gentle and easy. Miss Bonnie and Miss Rowena both came over and introduced themselves to my daughter and started up a conversation with her about things she liked and what she was excited about doing at school. She has learned SO much at Kennydale and made some wonderful friends. Everytime I enter the building with my daughter we are greeted with a friendly hello and hugs. It honestly feels like a second home to both my daughter and I. I know that when I leave her for the day she is going to be loved, cared for, and learn so many new things. She is excited everyday to go to school. Thank you to everyone at Kennydale Kindercare, you guys are ROCK STARS!

    Emily’s Mom – KinderCare Parent
  • We recently made the decision to move our two boys to the Kennydale KinderCare when I noticed my oldest son’s behavior changing drastically over a period of a few months at his old daycare. He has Sensory Processing Disorder and as a result he requires a calm, strictly scheduled environment with minimal distractions. He had gone from a generally well behaved and well liked child to a child that couldn’t handle his emotions, was called names daily by his classmates and was in trouble every day for hitting, spitting, kicking and running out of the classroom. Every day he told me he didn’t like school, they were mean and he didn’t want to go. As a mother it broke my heart and I knew a change in his environment had to be made. Moving my children to the Kennydale KinderCare was the best decision I could have made for them!
Moving daycare centers was a very comfortable transition for our entire family knowing how Ms. Ronna and Ms. Lanette ran things in their last daycare. They knew my boys and placed them in the appropriate classrooms where my children would get what they needed to succeed both educationally and socially. Lanette and Ronna have high expectations of their teachers and it shows in the way they interact with my children.
I can’t say enough great things about my oldest son’s teacher Ms. Bonnie. I jokingly call her the child whisperer, but it’s true! The change in my son was immediate from the first day he stepped in class and was welcomed by his teachers. The classroom is clam, stays on schedule and Ms. Bonnie teaches with a strict but VERY loving style. I have not received one report of him misbehaving at school where I had a stack of notes to sign every day at his last one. When he misbehaves at home all I have to say is “Would Ms. Bonnie be OK with you doing that?” and he immediately starts behaving. I have not heard one complaint about the teachers or classmates from my son. He tells me daily how nice everyone is and how much fun he has at school. He can’t leave without giving his teachers a hug goodbye and every weekend asks me if it’s Monday yet so he can go back to school.
I would highly recommend the Kennydale KinderCare to anyone; they gave me my happy and sweet little boy back!

  • What Kennydale KinderCare means to our family – a safe, clean, caring, and academic institution that is an extension of our home. Finding a facility to care for our little ones was a daunting task, but we are blessed to have found such a nurturing place for our kids to prosper. Kennydale KinderCare offers a clean and academically focused center that focuses on the individualized care of each child it cares for. As a family with two toddlers, we could not be more satisfied with our choice in facilities to care for our active and developing children.

    H. Family – KinderCare Parent
  • Good afternoon! I write you as a parent of two toddlers that attend the Kennydale Kindercare under the care of Lanette Tapia and her team. My husband and I are busy professionals with little time on our hands but wanted to take a moment to express our sincerest appreciation for the leadership Lanette has brought to Kennydale Kindercare since her arrival to this facility. It seems to me that more often than not people take the time to launch complaints rather then send compliments and I can’t think of time better spent than to tell you what wonderful care our children are in. Lanette and her team have created a second home for our children and because of their support, our kids are prospering in a way we could only hope for. The staff at our Kindercare love our children and it shows … they care for them like a family member would and again, it shows. Lanette has expectations for her staff that translate to clean classrooms, happy kids, and consistency in the care our children receive. Each week we know what to expect and that consistency for two working parents is integral to the success of our little family.
I am certain you know what an asset Lanette, Ronna, and Jayme are to Kindercare … but I wanted to reiterate it. They are just wonderful. They are professional and our babies could not be in better hands. I won’t labor on … but please know that from a parent perspective, you scored when you hired these women.

    Kindly,
    H Family

  • Our 22 month old daughter has progressed so much in the three months she has been there we are so delighted.

Our 5 year old-after being at this KinderCare only, enrolled last September in St Philomena Catholic school. She not only blew out the entry test, she continues daily to demonstrate her advanced reading and math skills. This entire school year, with a weekly spelling test she only missed a combined total of FIVE words, mostly due to wandering mind (she spelled “if” ef).

How many 5 year olds can spell leprechaun, gingerbread or thanksgiving? How many know to, too and two- and the meaning of all three? Mine can, and she is in advanced math and reading. Is she smart? Sure. But where did she learn? Kennydale KinderCare

History

Renton takes its name from Cecilia Renton (daughter-in-law of Tobias Smollett), after whom the modern sandstone “model” village was named in 1762. Dalquhurn Bleachworks in 1715 and Cordale Printworks in 1770 were responsible for bringing in new industrial workers. To the north of the village stood Bonhill Square, a residence since 1642, to the south, Dalquhurn House. Two parallel north–south streets, Main Street and Back Street, were first joined by Station Street, Sterling Street, Burns Street, Thimble Street, Market Street and Red Row. At the end of the Victorian era, the village extended south to Leven Street, Alexander Street and John Street. Further expansion took place at 1930s, when housing was built on the territory of Cordale House. In the early 1960s, most of the sandstone properties in the village were compulsorily bought out by Dumbarton County Council, demolished and replaced by Dumbarton County Council with 1960s Brutalist-style concrete houses and flats; Most have been replaced by the Cordale Housing Association with real houses with their own front and back doors.

He has traditionally been a stronghold of radical left politics; at 1930s The communist councilor, Bunger Lamont, never took the line of the Labor Party and independent councillors, such as Jimmy Mackenzie (1960/70s), and since 1999 she has been represented on West Dunbartonshire council by Jim Bollan, now the Scottish Socialist Party sole adviser.

It is located on the main road A82, as before, between Alexandria and Dumbarton. Renton railway station is on the line from Glasgow to Bullock. There is a footbridge across the River Leven to the Stratlewen Industrial Estate (once a major source of employment) and a 33% steep secondary road over Carman Hill to Cardross.

Robert the Bruce Homestead

Despite a report in The Observer on Sunday, February 22, 2009 (1) that the buried ruins of Robert the Bruce Homestead were found in the Pillanflatt area of Renton, this interpretation has yet to be confirmed . Although there is strong Charter evidence indicating the presence of an estate or hunting lodge belonging to Bruce in the area, it is more likely that this was located in the vicinity of Maines of Cardross, south of Pillanflat, rather than in the area north of it. Stone, plaster, and mortar generally defy scientific dating methods, and lime mortar was used from the Roman period until the late 19or early 20th century.

According to the historian Bruce Stewart Smith, a 1362 charter states that Robert the Bruce resided between the Royal Park of Cardross and the Pillanflat lands bordering the Dalquhurn lands. This would suggest a location south of Pillanflat but north of Castle Park near what is now the Mains of Cardross. [1]

Modern Times

Renton has recently experienced a major social revival, primarily but not limited to housing.

Notable residents

Before Renton existed in its current form, Robert the Bruce lived and died at Cardross Manor, the exact location of which is unknown, but may have been near or in the place where Renton is now, although it is likely in the parish of Cardross. [2] The writer Tobias Smollett was born at Dalquhurn House in what is now Renton in 1721. Monument to Smollett in the countryside”, erected by his cousin three years after the death of the author in Italy in 1771. [3]

MP and Lord Provost Duncan MacLaren was born in Renton, was MP and Speaker of the House of Commons of Canada, James Ellison Glen and author Jane Duncan. Professional football players Alex Jackson, Andy Duncan, John O’Hara, Jack Ashhurst, and James Kelly all hail from Renton, as does boxer Skeets Gallagher, after whom Gallacher Way is named.

Sports

When Renton Football Club won the World Cup, the world of football was in its infancy in 1888 and was played almost exclusively by Scottish and English clubs. By default, it was the World Cup, however, Renton’s claims are undeniable. They won the Scottish Cup with a 6-1 thrashing of Cambuslang Football Club They then resigned themselves to FA Cup holders West Bromwich Albion, which was in preparation in Scotland for two weeks. The score went 4-1 in front of a record 10,000 fans. Hampden Park. Renton confirmed his title with an away win over the Invincibles of Preston North End. The sign “World Champion” proudly flaunted in the pavilion at Tontine Park. They were ahead of their time in endurance and strength training. Their weapon was Renton’s own famous “chicken brie”, the ingredients of which were never revealed, but it was probably port wine substituted for a couple of eggs injected daily.

Citation (pronounced kitesurf ) was a popular sport among rural males. Price greens have been found in Renton, Alexandria, Hardgate and many Ayrshire villages. The figures were heavy iron rings, rounded on one side, flat on the other, and weighed 8–12 pounds (3.5–5.5 kg), but could be as high as 23 pounds (10 kg). They were hurled into a steel pin driven into a 3-foot (90 centimeter) square clay bed, with a total length of 18 yards (16 meters) of green. Renton was Scottish Champion at 1949 and 1986. Renton Station has a photo of the winning team from 1949. [ citation needed ]

Amenities

Renton has several entertainment and consumer facilities, including a new mini-supermarket and wellness center, and of course the Tom Swans candy store and bakery. The pub closed in June 2019. There is a bowling alley and a Masonic lodge. Wylie Park (known as Tontine Park) is also used on Saturdays and Sundays for football matches. It is home to the local youth football team, Renton Craigandro. Newly opened Youth Club at the Autism and Asperger’s Center (old kindergarten). The entire complex spans both sides of State Route 526 (named the Boeing Freeway). The plant was built in 1967 for the Boeing 747 and has since expanded several times to accommodate new airliners, including the 767, 777 and 787 programs.

History and operations [edit]

Boeing has been present in Everett since 1943. In 1966, plans were first announced to build a plant in the area where a Boeing 747 would be built, after Boeing was awarded a US$525 million (equivalent to US$4,137 million) contract. 2019) from Pan American World Airways to build 25 aircraft. The company purchased 780 acres (320 ha) north of the then underused Paine Field, which was owned by the US Army during World War II. The factory was officially opened on May 1, 1967 years, four months after the first workers arrived to start building the Boeing 747. [3]

The Boeing Company began offering factory tours with the first production of the Boeing 747 in 1968. [4] [2] As of 2022, over 150,000 people come each year to visit the plant, which employs over 30,000 people and has its own fire department, security team, kindergarten, café and fitness center. [2] The plant also houses a branch of the Boeing Employee Credit Union and several cafes. Across the airport to the west is the Boeing Store, a theater, and the Future Aviation Center, which provides tours of the factory. The Boeing Everett campus is large enough to accommodate Disneyland with 12 acres (4.9ha) remaining for parking. [ citation needed

11 days – that’s how long it takes to assemble one shiny new Boeing 737, the world’s most popular passenger plane! In total, 38 aircraft per month are assembled at the Renton plant, and the 737 line itself has been produced since 1967! More than 7,600 aircraft have already been delivered to customers … And another 3,000 aircraft have been ordered and are awaiting assembly and delivery! At the same time, the atmosphere on the assembly line itself is more than imposingly relaxed. Visually, no one is in a hurry, because the most important thing is safety, this is where the price of a mistake is very high. Therefore, each employee of the assembly line works at a very comfortable pace without haste and fatigue.

In this report, I invite you to the factory where the Boeing-737 is assembled, because all of you, almost certainly, have flown this aircraft at least once in your life!

Photos and text by Alexander Cheban

So, with this type I will start a large series of reports from the Boeing factories in Seattle. But first, the layout of the plants around Seattle. The 737 is assembled in Renton, then the aircraft flies to Boeing Field Airport, where, after a series of test flights, it is handed over to the customer. Long-haul aircraft are assembled and handed over to the customer in Everett, there is also a center for visiting tourists, you can go to the factory as part of an excursion:

The Renton manufacturing facility includes production lines for the assembly of Boeing 737 NG narrow-body aircraft and modifications. Production in Renton was launched on the eve of the Second World War. The famous Boeing B-17 flying fortresses were created here.

After the war, in 1952, the first Boeing 707 passenger jet aircraft left the factory. All subsequent series and modifications of Boeing narrow-body aircraft were developed here: 707, – 727, 737 and 757. Today, 4 modifications of the Boeing 737 aircraft remain in Renton’s production program NG. The assembly of the latest version of the Boeing 737 aircraft, a modification of the 737 MAX, will also be launched here.

In 2003, the Renton plant was consolidated. All design and support divisions received residence permits in the premises directly adjacent to production. This restructuring has improved the efficiency of management and interaction. At the same time, production areas were reduced by more than 40%. Production is organized as a moving assembly line, in essence, it is the world’s first conveyor assembly of passenger aircraft.

Pay attention to the next two photos, they hang at the entrance to the production. The first was made in the 80s, the second is a modern conveyor (!) scheme of work. The entire assembly line moves continuously at a speed of 5cm/min!

Before:

Now:

Boeing 737 fuselages being built in Wichita, Kansas. Delivered by rail to a distance of 3218 km. Delivery to the factory in Renton takes about 8 days. Boeing’s fuselage is uniformly green, while Airbus’ green has different shades. The answer is this: the entire fuselage of the Boeing 737 is assembled at one plant, while for Airbus different parts are produced at different enterprises. However, large Boeings also have different ones, but more on that in one of the following reports.

The rhythmic production of aircraft is made possible by the implementation of a virtual model of each assembled aircraft. Long before the laying down of the aircraft, the virtual model ensures the perfect assembly of all components and components (kitchens from Japan, armchairs from Italy), in accordance with the most diverse requirements of customers. The principles of “Lean Manufacturing” are fully implemented here. On the other hand, this made it possible to reduce the entire cycle from order to delivery from 2 and a half years to 11 months. Every month, up to 38 Boeing ?737 aircraft leave the factory gates, and in 2012 a total of 415 aircraft were delivered to customers.

Now one aircraft is being assembled for 11 days, plans to reach the mark of 10 days! And not by increasing the number of employees or space, but by optimizing the assembly process:

New 737-800.

Almost everything is handmade!

We pass to the second line. In general, the height of the pavilion with the assembly line 737 is 33m, width – 230m, length – 340m:

Delta:

The territory is huge, so employees use bicycles to move around:

Galleries, hydraulics, chassis are being installed in the center of the hall:

In the next position, the cabin and seats, toilets, luggage compartments are being installed:

being completely unpainted! This aircraft for the Chinese returned to the assembly shop for further refinement of the components after test flights:

And next to the lake. The beauty!

After rolling out, the planes are towed for 5 days to the Renton airfield, just a couple of hundred meters from the assembly shop. This is where refueling takes place; performance of pre-flight tests, including engine testing procedures. The aircraft is on its 1st flight to the Seattle Supply Center at Boeing Field; aircraft painting is carried out in Seattle or Renton; painting takes 3 days; 1/3 of all planes are painted in Renton.

Flight testing is then done with Boeing pilots and customer pilots and takes approximately 7 days to complete.

I didn’t manage to get into the paint shop either on a Boeing or on an Airbus, I really wanted to, but I had to put on a lot of things, and, as usual, there wasn’t enough time … Usually, about 190 liters of paint are needed to paint 737. After drying, the weight paint on one aircraft is approximately 113 kilograms, depending on the paint application scheme.

In the next report, I will tell you what I saw at the Boeing Field airfield. For example, a brand new 737-900 for the Ukrainian UIA, which has just returned after its first flight from the factory in Renton to Boeing Field:

70% of all civil aircraft sold by Boeing belong to the 737 family. It was here that the first of the forty Boeings ordered by UTair as part of the fleet renewal and replenishment program took place.

Thank you for the tour!

News: The last romantic – Expert – News of economics and politics. News today. (December 8, 2003)

The Boeing 9 Corporation CEO and Chairman of the Board of Directors unexpectedly resigned last Monday, December 1st.0009 Phil Condit . Shortly before his departure, Mr. Condit fired 56-year-old CFO Michael Sears , who was considered his successor, and Vice President of Government Relations Darlene Druyon .

A tarnished reputation

The immediate reason for the resignation of the head of Boeing and the dismissal of two of his key employees was a series of scandals related to industrial espionage and abuse of office. The most notorious came this summer, when documents were presented in Los Angeles District Court showing that Boeing executives had for several years covered up employees who used space rocket design documents stolen from archrival Lockheed Martin. With the help of stolen know-how, Boeing was able to build the new Delta IV rocket faster than Lockheed Martin could build its Atlas V, thus gaining an edge in the fight for the Pentagon’s $2 billion space launch contract. The consequences of this scandal were truly catastrophic for Boeing. As punishment, the Pentagon stripped Boeing of the right to launch satellites on $1 billion contracts it had already signed, handed them over to Lockheed Martin, and barred them from participating in new tenders. So the space division of Boeing, working under the programs of the Pentagon, was out of work. But this is only half the trouble. Soon after the spy scandal, Boeing was under suspicion of “unethical lobbying” of its interests in the US Department of Defense. Simply put, the leaders of the corporation were suspected of giving bribes to Pentagon officials responsible for the distribution of contracts. In particular, it turned out that Darlene Drouyon, who joined Boeing just ten months ago, in her previous job – as an adviser to the US Air Force commander – directly influenced the commercial relationship between Boeing and the Pentagon. As the Ministry of Justice suspects, it was not without the efforts of Ms. Drouyon that the US Air Force decided this spring to buy 100 Boeing 767 tanker aircraft in the amount of $ 20 billion, while the real needs of the military are only 20 such aircraft. Congress refused to approve the deal, and a number of senators and congressmen from the Democratic Party turned to law enforcement agencies with a request to conduct an independent investigation into the Boeing contract with the Pentagon.

However, without waiting for the results of the investigation, the leaders of the US Department of Justice and the Pentagon issued an extremely harsh statement against Boeing. Attorney General Peter Tits said literally this: “We will not tolerate the slightest untidiness in the process of awarding contracts and therefore we are imposing sanctions on Boeing.” According to Mr. Tits, “the sanctions will remain in effect until Boeing changes its practices and fully atones for its guilt. ” With his statement, Peter Tits made it clear: as long as Phil Condit is in charge of the corporation, there can be no talk of new contracts between Boeing and the Pentagon. Under these conditions, it became problematic for Mr. Condit to continue at the helm of Boeing. After all, the $1.2 trillion National Missile Defense (NMD) project, in which Boeing is the Pentagon’s general contractor, could be in jeopardy. Naturally, neither the shareholders of Boeing nor the US authorities could allow this to happen. As a result, Phil Condit was replaced as CEO by the former president of Boeing Harry Stonecifer who was urgently recalled from retirement. And the post of chairman of the board of directors was taken by the ex-president of Hewlett-Packard Lewis Platt .

Your boyfriend

Fascinated by the acquisition of new assets, Boeing could not properly organize the production and marketing of passenger airliners, which in the mid-90s brought the company almost half the profit

Despite the fact that Stonecifer and Condit are almost the same age (the first – 67 years old, and the second – 63 years old), in the corporation itself they are considered almost antipodes. Mr. Stonecifer, although widely recognized in the American aviation industry, was known as a prim and dry man. Someone even dubbed him “Al Gore from the Boeing Company.” According to one of the Boeing 9 union bossesBill Dugovich’s 0009 , Harry Stonecifer is a real maniac obsessed with his company’s stock quotes. Another thing is Phil Condit – “his boyfriend from the simple”, “an incorrigible aviation romantic.” He regularly ate lunch in the factory cafeteria, drove a simple Ford Explorer himself, and in his spare time liked to chat with the workers about family life. By the way, it was Condit who built the first kindergarten for the children of Boeing employees in the city of Everett, not far from Seattle.

Phil Condit devoted his entire working life – almost 40 years – to the aerospace industry. “I always dreamed of flying,” the now former head of Boeing liked to repeat. As a child, little Phil hung a PanAm route map in his room, and spent all his free time with his grandfather at the San Francisco airport, watching the planes. At Boeing, Phil Condit went through all the rungs of the corporate ladder – from an ordinary engineer to the chief aircraft designer and president of the company. It was under his leadership that the famous “three sevens” – the Boeing 777 – were designed and put into series.0019

In early 1996, Phil Condit took over as CEO of Boeing and became the seventh and youngest CEO in Boeing history. Immediately after his appointment, Mr. Condit began to implement a fundamentally new development strategy, developed by himself and providing for the construction of a vertically integrated aerospace structure. “Everyone produces either rockets, or airplanes, or is engaged only in space,” Mr. Condit told ‘Expert’. “We at Boeing have decided to unite all components of the aerospace business within one corporation.” The merger began with a purchase in the same 1996, the closest competitor is McDonnel-Douglas, which produces long-haul aircraft, and the Rockwell aerospace company, which was engaged in the development of reusable spacecraft of the Space-Shuttle system and avionics. A little later, Boeing acquired from General Motors one of the world leaders in the production of satellites – Huges. “We believe that the optimal structure of the company’s income is when one-third comes from passenger aircraft, one-third from satellites and missiles, and another third from military orders,” Mr. Condit told us. Fascinated by the acquisition of new assets, Phil Condit could not properly organize the production and marketing of passenger airliners, which in the middle of 90’s brought Boeing almost half of the profits. In 1996-1997, when Boeing’s order book grew by leaps and bounds, the corporation did not have time to produce aircraft on time and even introduced overtime hours for workers, which caused union discontent and lengthy strikes. However, Boeing workers now remember this as the “golden days”. After all, the last four years have become the most difficult in the history of the American aviation giant.

Shortage of ideas

The first signs of a looming crisis appeared in early 2000 when Boeing cut new aircraft deliveries from 620 to 489pieces per year, and the company’s stock price fell by almost a third. At the same time, orders for the construction of the International Space Station (ISS), which Boeing carried out as the main contractor for this project from the American side, dropped sharply. George Bush , who came to power , fulfilled his campaign promise and cut funding for the ISS to a minimum. But the real trouble came a year later. In mid-2001, Boeing lost to Lockheed Martin a $200 billion tender for the development and production of the fifth-generation JSF light strike fighter. And the 9/11 attacks and the global air travel crisis that followed nearly brought wide-body passenger aircraft production to a standstill at Boeing’s factories in Renton and Seattle. To maintain the profitability of production, Boeing was forced to lay off almost 40% of the staff – more than 35 thousand workers and employees – and stop funding R&D on a number of projects. At the same time, on the freeway leading to the Seattle airport, one of the laid-off workers hung a sign “The last one out of town, don’t forget to turn off the lights!”. Note that Boeing’s main competitor, the European consortium Airbus, did not fire a single permanent employee after the crisis and kept aircraft production at the same level – about 300 units per year.

By the end of 2003, Boeing will deliver only about 280 aircraft (in 1999 there were 620). This means that the share of the American corporation in the world market of passenger aircraft will decrease to 49% (in 1999 it was 68%), that is, for the first time it will be less than that of Airbus (see chart). Boeing shareholders are projected to lose 7 cents a share this year, with the corporation’s gross income of more than $50 billion. This is primarily due to the cessation of the production of Boeing 757 aircraft from January 1, 2004 and the dismantling of equipment intended for the production of liners of this model at factories in Seattle. However, the company is confident that in the new year 2004 Boeing will again be profitable.

The appointment of Harry Stonecifer and Lewis Platt should, according to the plan of Boeing shareholders, primarily help restore the good reputation of the American aviation giant and reconcile it with the Pentagon. Perhaps the new management will be able to achieve and increase the profitability of production. However, this will not solve the problems faced by Boeing. After all, they are caused primarily by a shortage of ideas – not only in the corporation itself, but throughout the American aviation industry (“Expert” wrote about this in N6 in 2000).

Curtailing the production of unclaimed aircraft on the market, the corporation has nothing to offer in return. After the “three sevens” Boeing has not created a single fundamentally new aircraft, although such attempts have been made repeatedly. At first, Boeing management stated that, in contrast to the new Airbus development – the A-380 supergiant aircraft for 555 passengers – the company would make a Boeing 747X airliner with 460 seats, modifying the development of the 70s of the last century – the Boeing 747. But then Boeing abandoned this idea . In an interview with “Expert” Phil Condit explained this step as follows: “We conducted a study and found out that there is not enough market for an aircraft of this capacity. ” As it turned out, Mr. Condit was mistaken. Airbus has received over 110 firm orders for the A-380 and has begun production of the model.

Instead of the Boeing 747X, the corporation decided to make a less spacious Sonic Cruiser airliner that would fly at a speed close to the speed of sound (1245 km per hour), but no one was interested in such a plane except Emirates. As a result, Boeing froze this project as well. Now the aviation giant cherishes the hope of launching the production of a super-economical airliner for 250 passengers, called the Boeing 7E7. However, this project started already a year ago, and Boeing’s portfolio has not received a single firm order for this model. So it is possible that the Boeing 7E7 will repeat the fate of the Boeing 747X and Sonic Cruiser, and the shareholders will once again have to look for new managers for their corporation.

BOING Evett

is an aircraft assembly shop built by Boeing in Everett, Washington, United States. It is in the northeast corner of Payne’s Field and includes the world’s largest building by volume at 13,385,378 m3 (472,370,319 cu ft) and covers 98.7 acres (39.9 ha). The entire complex occupies both sides of State Route 526 (named Boeing Freeway). The plant was built in 1967 for the Boeing 747 and has since been expanded several times to accommodate new airliners, including the 767, 777, and 787 program.

History and operations

Boeing has been present in Everett since 1943. In 1966, plans to build a plant in the area where the Boeing 747 would be built were first announced after Boeing was awarded a US$525 million (equivalent to US$4,137 million) contract. 2019) from Pan American World Airways to build 25 aircraft. The company purchased 780 acres (320 ha) north of the then underused Paine Field, which was owned by the US Army during World War II. The plant was officially opened on May 1, 1967, four months after the arrival of the first workers who began building the Boeing 747.[3]

Boeing began offering factory tours with the first production of the 747 in 1968.[4][2] As of 2021, over 150,000 people come every year to visit the plant, which employs over 30,000 people and has its own fire station, security service, kindergarten, café, and fitness center.[2] The factory also houses the Boeing Employees Credit Union branch and several cafes. Across the airport to the west is the Boeing Store, a theater, and the Future Aviation Center, which runs a tour of the factory. The Boeing Everett campus is large enough to accommodate Disneyland with 12 acres (4.9ha) left for parking. [ quote needed

Boeing closed all factories and flew to bankruptcy

On April 6, the Boeing aircraft concern extended for an indefinite period the shutdown of its largest assembly plant – in Seattle. It should be noted that initially the stop happened on March 25, but this step was considered only a temporary measure, and in April it was planned to restart the assembly lines. However, it was revealed this Monday that Boeing is extending, until further notice, a temporary cessation of production at all facilities in the Puget Bay area. According to experts, the coronavirus for the mega-corporation was only the final blow in a series of serious problems – and the concern has serious risks of sliding into bankruptcy. It is a pity for such a company or not – it is up to everyone to decide for themselves, but do not forget that it was Boeing that had a hand in the destruction of the Soviet-Russian aircraft industry, so the current situation can be considered as a consequence of the proverb – do not spit in the well . ..

For example, Boeing shares almost tripled on the stock exchange, from a high of $350 per share in mid-February to a low of $90 on March 20. As of Friday, the stock closed at $124 per share.

According to experts, this modest growth was only due to politics and soon they will continue to plummet: Donald Trump said his administration could support one of the world’s two largest aircraft manufacturers in the amount of $60 billion. The money was to be allocated as part of state support for the aerospace industry. The corporation has already commented that it highly appreciates the president’s and administration’s support for the 2.5 million jobs and 17,000 suppliers that Boeing needs to remain a top US exporter. However, Trump’s statement has not yet brought any money or state guarantees – only statements. As a result, Boeing stopped its main aircraft factories in Everett and Renton, which together are responsible for 4/5 of the entire production of Boeing aircraft.

At the same time, experts note that the corporation’s problems began much earlier than the coronavirus. The first blow was dealt by the history of disasters and the subsequent ban of the Boeing 737 MAX. Almost 800 aircraft of this model remain “on the joke”, including those produced at the plant in Renton after the ban. It should be noted that each Boeing 737 MAX was sold to customers for $28–35 million, respectively, $24 billion is “frozen” in aircraft in the parking lot.

At the same time, the “dangerous” model had to be paid for. Only American Airlines said it had reached an agreement with Boeing for financial damages incurred due to the suspension of the 737 MAX aircraft. According to unofficial data, it can reach up to $540 million for just 24 aircraft, or 6% of the Max sold by Boeing.

At the same time, experts note that the plant in Everett, which was responsible for assembling such popular models as the Boeing 747, 767, 777 and 787 Dreamliner, is also closing. This may mean that no one is waiting for an early market recovery in the aviation concern.

In February 2011, Boeing announced that about 787 jobs were being moved to the North Charleston, South Carolina plant to ease overcrowding on the 787 in Everett caused by a high order volume of 787 people. [6] In July 2014, Boeing announced that the 787-10 variant, the longest variant of the 787, would be built exclusively in South Carolina, as the fuselage parts for this variant were too large for the Dreamlifter to be transportable to Everett.[7][8] In early 2021, Boeing announced that it would consider consolidating its entire 787 assembly into one location. It decided to move all production to South Carolina on October 1, 2021, drawing backlash from the Washington state government.[9]] [10]

Boeing Plant Assembling the Boeing 737

Construction of the Seattle Boeing Plant began with site leveling. 6 500 000 cubic meters of soil were removed from the plant construction site. The construction site was located on plateau at 5 kilometers from railway and above railway and in order to connect them it was necessary to build a railway line from slope to 5. 6 degrees . Another problem during the construction of the Boeing plant in Seattle was the weather of the northwest coast of the USA. Since the railway line was under a large slope, its washed away with strong rain, and it had to be refilled every time. A without this branch line NOT would be at the Boeing plant in Seattle.
