AMERICA’S MOST ACCREDITED
We’re so proud!
Nationally only 10% of daycares are accredited – nearly 100% of our learning centers are. That’s a big difference,
and that means KinderCare kids are getting the very best. Here’s why.
SCHOOL-READY
What Learning Looks Like
Our talented early-childhood teachers set kids down the path toward becoming lifelong learners in a positive, safe, and nurturing environment.
Hickman KinderCare Programs
Infant Programs (6 weeks–1 year)
Leaving your baby in someone else’s care is a big step. Everyone at our
centers—most importantly, our naturally gifted infant teachers—will work with
you to make sure the transition goes smoothly. When you step into our infant
classroom, you’ll see how much we want your infant to feel safe, loved, and
ready to explore their world.
Toddler Programs (1–2 Years)
Everything in our toddler classroom is designed for little explorers. That’s
because a lot is going on at this age. When your child is wandering all over the
place, that means they’re learning and discovering new things every day. We’ll
help them explore their interests (and find new ones!) as they play and learn.
Discovery Preschool Programs (2–3 Years)
This age is filled with so much wonder and curiosity. That’s why we offer a ton
of books and toys and bring artwork down to kids eye level. Children in
discovery preschool also begin to learn how we all work together in a
classroom. Simple math and science, pretend play, and group play help them
get used to a more structured school setting.
Preschool Programs (3–4 Years)
This age is all about expression, when kids really start to form their own ideas
about what they want to play and how they want to create. Every day in our
preschool classroom, your child will explore science experiments, create
artwork, and play pretend—all the skills needed for their big next step:
kindergarten!
Prekindergarten Programs (4–5 Years)
When you walk into one of our pre-K classrooms, you’ll see artwork and
writing displayed around the room. Labels are everywhere to help kids connect
letters with words. You’ll also see pictures on the walls that reflect the families
in our community. Your child will also deepen their knowledge in language,
math, science, Spanish, and social skills.
School Break Programs (preschool, prekindergarten, and school-age)
Winter break, spring break, summer break—when school’s out (but you still need to work), you
can count on KinderCare to provide a safe and supportive learning environment that’s focused
on fun. We welcome children ages 5–12 during school break times and make sure they have a
sensational, screen-free experience they won’t forget.
Learning Adventures – Enrichment Program
Phonics Adventures® (2 – 4 Years)
Learning how to read is a whole lot of fun at KinderCare! We help kids grow to love
books and words (and get ready for kindergarten) in our Phonics Adventures program.
From discovering the basics of vowels to practicing poetry, kids learn all about letters
and sounds in small-group lessons made just for their age group. (Bonus: Kids who
attend our phonics program are more prepared than their peers for school—and we
have the data to prove it.)
STEM Innovators (3-8 Years)
You’ve probably heard a lot about how important STEM education is for your child, but
what does that really mean? Our STEM Innovators program takes kids’ natural ability to
make sense of the world and applies it to robotics, chemistry, coding, geology, and
more. While your child experiments, they’ll discover how to use technology to do
amazing things!
Our Teachers
We’re the only company in early childhood education to select teachers based on natural talent. Being a great educator isn’t enough though.
KinderCare teachers are also amazing listeners, nurturers, boo-boo fixers, and smile-makers. Put more simply,
we love our teachers and your child will, too.
Meet just a few of our amazing KinderCare teachers!
A KINDERCARE TEACHER WITH
An Artist’s Heart
“My classroom is full of art!” says Mary Annthipie-Bane, an award-winning early childhood educator at KinderCare. Art and creative expression, she says, help children discover who they really are.
We put our best-in-class teachers in a best-in-class workplace. We’re so proud to have been named one of Gallup’s 37 winners of the Great Workplace Award.
When you put great teachers in an engaging center, your children will experience
an amazing place to learn and grow.

The Democratic presidential candidate stopped by the daycare center Monday during a campaign visit to Northern Virginia.
Mary Ann Barton, Patch Staff
FAIRFAX COUNTY, VA — Presidential candidate and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton visited the Lee Highway KinderCare in Fairfax, during her stop in Northern Virginia on Monday.
She talked with working parents about their needs and experiences with child care at the center, 11723 Lee Highway in Fairfax.
Clinton spoke with a number of parents, asking questions about how and why they chose their child-care center, according to a news release from KinderCare. She also visited with young children and spoke with KinderCare staff about a typical day for the 153 children at the center. The children at the center presented Clinton with flowers made from their handprints as a gift to thank her for her visit and for her recognition of the importance of high-quality early care and education.

Mustachioed nannies from Shadrinsk Kirill Kiryukhantsev | 45.ru
Kirill Kiryukhantsev spoke about his attitude towards children and methods of their upbringing
Photo: provided by Kirill Kiryukhantsev
Share
Today Russia celebrates the Day of the Educator and all preschool workers. 45.RU spoke with Kirill Kiryukhantsev, a physical education instructor at kindergarten No. 9 in Shadrinsk, and found out whether this is really a man’s job, whether it’s hard for him to find a common language with children, and modern parents have time for their child.
Kirill Kiryukhantsev is 30 years old. He was born in the city of Asbest, Sverdlovsk region. Once, on vacation, he came to Shadrinsk to visit his grandparents and accidentally found out that there was a pedagogical university in this city. Then Kirill abandoned plans to study at the Mining University in Yekaterinburg, which he had already entered, remained in Shadrinsk, where he met his future wife. He received his higher education, as he wanted, at the ShSPU, graduating in 2014 with honors. Before he ended up in kindergarten, Kirill managed to work as a tourism manager, hotel administrator and Santa Claus. He is married and has a son who will soon be two years old.
— Was it scary to go to work in a kindergarten?
— No. There was no fear. There was a clear understanding that this is a responsible job that requires a lot of strength, both physical and moral. Firstly, I have two younger brothers, and I understood what it is: to look after, help, play, study, develop small children. Secondly, we have a family of teachers. Some kind of imprint when choosing a future profession was left by my mother and grandmother, teachers.
– Tell us about what you do at work, what do you teach children?
— We teach children to take care of their health, protect and understand its value. We instill cultural and hygienic skills. Also, children in the classroom develop dexterity, coordination of movements, speed, endurance. We try to raise physically harmonious, developed children.
Is it like physical education at school?
Yes. In kindergarten, the requirements are almost the same as in elementary school. We have a very well developed continuity between kindergarten and elementary school. And so we try, especially at senior preschool age, to adhere to the same daily routine as at school, with the exception of a quiet hour.
Photo: provided by Kirill Kiryukhantsev
Share
There are requirements for appearance, for the structure and preparation of classes, for individual work with children. This is the same physical education as in school. Only we focus on a playful approach to children.
— What age children do you work with?
— I work with all children, from the first youngest group (from two or three years old) to six or seven years old.
— Is it easy to find a common language with children?
– I had no problems with this. Children are very subtle psychologists and clearly feel, see and understand with whom they want to communicate and with whom they do not. I have children to myself, and our communication is built in a very trusting manner. My communication with them is based on equal, partnership positions. That is, I act, probably, no longer as a teacher-mentor, but as an older brother. And they are all drawn to me.

Share
Everyone is curious and interesting with me, judging by the feedback from my parents and the sincerely enthusiastic eyes of the children. It is also necessary to take into account the individual approach to each child, and its features, because everyone is different. If you understand child psychology and clearly understand where this fine line is that you should not cross, then, I think, there can be no fear when communicating with children. The main thing is not to go beyond what is permitted.
— Do you mostly work with women?
— Yes, all women, except for the technical staff — janitor, mechanic, plumber. The teachers are all women.
— Have you faced prejudice or misunderstanding because you are supposedly doing women’s work? Has anyone told you about this?
– At first there was a question: “What did you forget in kindergarten?” He put me in a dead end, did not know what to answer. I work here, I am raising children, what else can I do here? As for female-non-female work: I think that there can be no such concept and such stereotypes. The same can be said about the women who stand at the machines in the factories. What are they doing there? Why do men’s work?
I have never encountered such questions as you mentioned. But I was told that for a man, perhaps, a more serious, higher-paid job is needed. You understand, kindergartens, schools, state employees, salaries are small. How do I respond to this? Proverb: “As you work, so you eat.” Management sees this and appreciates it. There is a stimulus fund, a lot of opportunities, so we need to work.
As a rule, such people do not stay in education. If you still follow your calling, at the call of your heart, then both life and fate will repay you in the same coin.
– Since the salary was mentioned – what do you not like about work?
– There is a misunderstanding – why we, physical education instructors, do absolutely the same work as educators, music directors, teachers, psychologists, teachers, speech therapists, but we, instructors, do not have pedagogical experience ? Why do we not have this length of service, some benefits, like our colleagues? I would like to retire early, get some benefits from the state, giving my whole life to work, to one place. The rest, in principle, suits everything.
— On the contrary, what do you like the most?
— Working with children, communication with parents. And now such a trend is observed: we are not so much engaged in the upbringing of children, but in the upbringing of modern young parents. Now the generation of the late 80s, 90s, my peers. They are businesslike, everyone knows everything. We have to invite everyone to meetings, organize meetings, conduct master classes so that there is a clear understanding that, first of all, children are needed by parents.
I remember the phrase of a parent who said: “We pay you for kindergarten.” Yes, you pay, but you pay for supervision, for care, for food, for electricity.
The true role models for children are their parents, despite the fact that they spend most of their time in kindergarten. In any case, mom and dad are the authorities for the child. Sometimes at parent-teacher meetings they ask me, “What do you talk about with children? After you, they come home and say: “I would like a dad like Kirill Andreevich. ” I answer them: “Don’t put me in an awkward position. Just ask yourself the question: when was the last time you played with your child, when did you walk with him in the park? Parents ask me: “When should I do this? In the evening? Between washing and ironing? In such cases, I answer: “The child will grow up and appreciate your contribution. But you have to be with him here and now.”
It is enough for a child that you spend at least 15-20 minutes with him. Just take an interest in his successes, failures, read a book before going to bed, draw. These are elementary, ordinary things for us adults. And for a child, this is a whole event! He then resorts to teachers and enthusiastically, joyfully talks about it. And then you think, after all, it was not in vain that you talked with your parents! Heard, got through. I put a plus sign in my karma.
— What disagreements do you have with your parents? Is it easy to get along with them?
— I have never encountered any problems in communicating with parents during my entire work in kindergarten. I always try to establish business, partnership relations, where we move in the same team and clearly discuss the requirements immediately on the shore. We interact with each other for the benefit of the child, so that he is successful, ready for school, without stress and difficulties.
— How do your parents feel about you as a male teacher? Do they ask questions about it?
— Nobody asked me such questions. Vice versa. Some say – how great it is that there are men in education! I asked this question, began to analyze and remember how many outstanding Soviet innovative teachers were raising children at that time. Therefore, I do not think that something should surprise anyone here.

— Are there children in the kindergarten who call you dad?
– Some children said: “It would be great if you were my dad. ” I even on this occasion received the nickname “Mustachioed nannies.” I have a pipe dream, someday I will. I want to make a short mini-movie based on the storyline of the film “Mustachioed Nanny”, and shoot something similar about myself, our kindergarten, our children.
Tell some funny stories from work.
— They happen every day, you can’t remember them all! For example, when a child ran up and said: “Kirill Andreevich, my tooth fell out!” I ask: “Where is he?” Says he swallowed it. It turns out that he still had it at home, on the weekends. There was another case: a boy ran up to me in class and said: “Look how much money I have!” And he has pockets full of candy wrappers. He takes it out and says: “I want to share with you. Let’s go get some ice cream.”

All stories, all cases with each child are interesting in their own way and hold a special place in my heart. The main thing is to catch this moment, to support the interest of the child, not to be indifferent to his requests, the events that take place in his life.
— Do you have enough energy for your son after work?
— Of course! It seems to me that then the second wind only opens. The child already sometimes makes it clear that it is time to let him go. And dad wants to play – so overwhelmed with emotions. You come home from work inspired, you want to share it, spend time with your child, play with him. If work is joy and pleasure, then, I am sure, there will be strength to raise your child.

Preservation of health
- Education in kindergarten is based on health-saving technologies integrated into all technological processes of working with children. As a result of the use of these technologies in kindergartens of the network, the lowest incidence rate in Moscow was recorded.
- A medical worker throughout the day performs strict control over compliance with SanPin and implements a set of measures to prevent infectious diseases and prevent the conditions for their spread.
- Daily morning filter – health worker checks for signs of respiratory and other illnesses.
- Child psychologist provides psychological comfort to the child and prevents conflict situations.

Education and development
- The educational program in kindergartens includes classes in accordance with the Federal State Educational Standard (FGOS) and gymnasium component classes. The gymnasium component allows you to give children an in-depth education in 5 main educational areas: cognitive, speech, physical, artistic and aesthetic, social and communicative.
- classes are conducted in two languages: English and Russian. There are 3 lesson formats (speaking English, game English, musical English):
1. Completely in English:
- English (Cambridge English)
- Musical English (Music)
- English Games
- Puppet theater (Drama)
2. Integrated lessons (English accompaniment):
- ISO
- Modeling
- Art Appliqué Studio
- Artistic work
- Math games (problem solving)
- Rhythm
- Choreography
- Swimming lessons
- Educational games
- REMP
- Engineering
- Creativity Club
- Physical education
3. Completely in Russian – subjects of the Federal State Educational Standard of cognitive and speech development.
It is important that the classes in Russian in the afternoon are not a duplication of the classes conducted by the carrier in the first half of the day, but a continuation of the implementation of the curriculum of the Academic Gymnasium. The curriculum is designed in such a way that the subjects in the first and second half of the day in different languages are not repeated within one day.
It is also important that the subjects on which the full development of the child is based are conducted in Russian, without English accompaniment.
Classes are taught by teachers:
- Educator
- Native English speaker
- Art teacher
- Music teacher
- Physical education and swimming instructor
- Speech therapist
- Educational psychologist
Circles and sections
- Sculpting, ballroom dancing, aikido, robotics, choreography, vocals, swimming, chess, painting, aqua gymnastics, theater studio, sand therapy, football, tennis.
The possibility of ordering additional classes in circles allows parents to ensure the development of the child in the desired direction within the framework of one institution (which saves time: there is no need to take the child to circles).
