AMERICA’S MOST ACCREDITED

We’re so proud!

Nationally only 10% of daycares are accredited – nearly 100% of our learning centers are. That’s a big difference,
and that means KinderCare kids are getting the very best. Here’s why.

SCHOOL-READY

What Learning Looks Like

Our talented early-childhood teachers set kids down the path toward becoming lifelong learners in a positive, safe, and nurturing environment.

Chambers KinderCare Programs

Infant Programs (6 weeks–1 year)

Leaving your baby in someone else’s care is a big step. Everyone at our
centers—most importantly, our naturally gifted infant teachers—will work with
you to make sure the transition goes smoothly. When you step into our infant
classroom, you’ll see how much we want your infant to feel safe, loved, and
ready to explore their world.

Toddler Programs (1–2 Years)

Everything in our toddler classroom is designed for little explorers. That’s
because a lot is going on at this age. When your child is wandering all over the
place, that means they’re learning and discovering new things every day. We’ll
help them explore their interests (and find new ones!) as they play and learn.

Discovery Preschool Programs (2–3 Years)

This age is filled with so much wonder and curiosity. That’s why we offer a ton
of books and toys and bring artwork down to kids eye level. Children in
discovery preschool also begin to learn how we all work together in a
classroom. Simple math and science, pretend play, and group play help them
get used to a more structured school setting.

Preschool Programs (3–4 Years)

This age is all about expression, when kids really start to form their own ideas
about what they want to play and how they want to create. Every day in our
preschool classroom, your child will explore science experiments, create
artwork, and play pretend—all the skills needed for their big next step:
kindergarten!

Prekindergarten Programs (4–5 Years)

When you walk into one of our pre-K classrooms, you’ll see artwork and
writing displayed around the room. Labels are everywhere to help kids connect
letters with words. You’ll also see pictures on the walls that reflect the families
in our community. Your child will also deepen their knowledge in language,
math, science, Spanish, and social skills.

Kindergarten Programs (5–6 Years)

Welcome to kindergarten: the gateway to grade school and everything that
comes next! Offered in select centers, our kindergarten programs have small
class sizes and curriculums that mix learning and fun. The basic building
blocks of reading, writing, math, and science are key in kindergarten, so we
make sure they get lots of practice in all of these areas.

Before- and After-School Programs (5–12 Years)

You can count on us to provide reliable care for your school-ager while you’re
at work, with safe transportation from our center to your child’s school and
back! Whether your child wants to start a drama club, build a volcano, or
create a comic book, they will have a place to follow their dreams. Your child
will start and end the day with a whole lot of fun!

School Break Programs (preschool, prekindergarten, and school-age)

Winter break, spring break, summer break—when school’s out (but you still need to work), you
can count on KinderCare to provide a safe and supportive learning environment that’s focused
on fun. We welcome children ages 5–12 during school break times and make sure they have a
sensational, screen-free experience they won’t forget.

Learning Adventures – Enrichment Program

Cooking Academy™ (3 – 12 Years)

In Cooking Academy, kids learn new recipes from cultures around the world and
develop a healthy relationship with food. They’ll whip up everything from Southwest
rainbow lettuce wraps to pumpkin muffins, building their skills in STEM, communication,
and more along the way. And yes—little chefs get to eat their culinary creations!

Music Explorers™ (2 – 4 Years)

KinderCare families are already giving a standing ovation to our newest Learning
Adventures program: Music Explorers! Kids will learn to sing, move, listen, play
instruments, and even create their own tunes. Our original curriculum blends math,
science, social studies, literacy, and mindfulness (think yoga!) for a uniquely KinderCare
way of learning the foundations of music.

Phonics Adventures® (2 – 4 Years)

Learning how to read is a whole lot of fun at KinderCare! We help kids grow to love
books and words (and get ready for kindergarten) in our Phonics Adventures program.
From discovering the basics of vowels to practicing poetry, kids learn all about letters
and sounds in small-group lessons made just for their age group. (Bonus: Kids who
attend our phonics program are more prepared than their peers for school—and we
have the data to prove it.)

Spanish

Spanish Adventures provides young learners with a foundation for later success with
the Spanish language. Music, games, children’s Spanish literature, and other tools give
children multiple opportunities to hear, practice, and see Spanish language to develop
vocabulary and conversation skills. Curriculum includes lessons on greetings, numbers,
colors, animals, family, body parts, and pets, as well as how to engage conversationally
during common scenarios at home, a restaurant, or at the zoo.

STEM Innovators (3-8 Years)

You’ve probably heard a lot about how important STEM education is for your child, but
what does that really mean? Our STEM Innovators program takes kids’ natural ability to
make sense of the world and applies it to robotics, chemistry, coding, geology, and
more. While your child experiments, they’ll discover how to use technology to do
amazing things!

Our Teachers

We’re the only company in early childhood education to select teachers based on natural talent. Being a great educator isn’t enough though.
KinderCare teachers are also amazing listeners, nurturers, boo-boo fixers, and smile-makers. Put more simply,
we love our teachers and your child will, too.

A KINDERCARE TEACHER WITH

An Artist’s Heart

“My classroom is full of art!” says Mary Annthipie-Bane, an award-winning early childhood educator at KinderCare. Art and creative expression, she says, help children discover who they really are.

We put our best-in-class teachers in a best-in-class workplace. We’re so proud to have been named one of Gallup’s 37 winners of the Great Workplace Award.
When you put great teachers in an engaging center, your children will experience
an amazing place to learn and grow.

Family Stories

Don’t take our word for it. Hear what our families have to say about our amazing center!

  • Prior to enrolling our infant son in daycare, we toured a number of locations. KinderCare stood out above the rest. The day we arrived for a tour with our three month old, we were welcomed with open arms and introduced to the infant room that would be his classroom. KinderCare employees gave us a rundown on the schedule, policies and procedures they operate by and for someone with an infant, I was happy to have the cleaning procedures explained in the first five minutes! The infant room was warm and inviting and we were happy to learn that a couple of other babies would be starting at the same time. As our now 20 month old son grows, the leaps and bounds he has made on a daily basis impress us. From the singing of a song, to the sign language he has learned and remembered, to the friends he has made and whose names he repeats daily, we appreciate that KinderCare is providing him with a nurturing, socializing and educational experience. The staff is friendly and answers any questions or concerns we have in a timely manner. We’re also appreciative of the hours they operate as life doesn’t always have you out of work at 5:00pm on the dot. Thank you to Katheryn, Gina, Laura and the staff at KinderCare for giving us peace of mind by knowing our child is safe, learning, growing and most importantly, having fun every day at school.

Read “Kindergarten” – Evgeny Vodolazkin

Evgeny Vodolazkin

Kindergarten

© Evgeny Vodolazkin, 2018.

© Compilation, design. AST Publishing House LLC, 2018.

EVGENIY VODOLAZKIN. Prose writer, Doctor of Philology. Author of the novels Solovyov and Larionov, Laurus (awarded the Big Book Prize) and The Aviator (second Big Book Prize).

We owe the name of the institution to the German teacher Friedrich Wilhelm August Froebel, but Robert Owen organized the first kindergarten long before him. This was the Robert Owen the older generation remembers from his forced study of scientific communism. Even those who rightly called communism anti-scientific knew that it was from Owen that Marx borrowed some nonsense that formed the basis of communist theory. So, like another incorrigible dreamer, the founder of the kindergarten can be defined as is the same Owen .

Having been in kindergarten for about three years, I confess that I knew nothing about either Froebel or Owen, but even then the very idea of gathering the population in a closed area aroused my rejection. Camps – pioneer and others, various military training camps – all this did not give rise to joy in my soul. Even less I liked the collective work – from making a snowman and ending with large-scale adult tasks.

It’s not that I was against large-scale tasks – no, rather, it seemed to me (and even now it seems) that they are solved through personal efforts. It may be objected to me that there are tasks that can only be solved by a team – well, let’s say, the creation of big snowman. Here I tend to agree. Yes, you can’t blind a big snowman alone. But maybe she doesn’t need one? It seems to me that already in childhood I understood that for the fair sex, size is not the main thing.

In previous years, there was more snow, and in kindergarten, all we did was roll up giant balls, pushing them with three, or even four. That’s when I realized what it means to grow like a snowball. The lump we rolled with a crunch devoured all the fallen snow, leaving behind uneven paths black from last year’s foliage. The problem was that then we could not put one lump on top of the other. It was a punishment for gigantomania. To ourselves, we reminded ourselves of Robinson Crusoe, carving out a boat that he could not drag to the water. The monster-sized koloboks stood until the end of winter, and of everything that was snowy in our garden, they were the last to melt.

To be precise, I had not one kindergarten, but two. The first of them, due to my age, I remember vaguely. From this period of my life there is, with a few exceptions, a quatrain:

This is Lenin in a portrait

In a frame of dense greenery.

He was the best in the world —

Both great and simple.

One could only be surprised that of all the trees born in the forest, these lines are stuck in the head, but there is really nothing to be surprised here: the composting of brains in the USSR began even in the intrauterine period. The text caught on in memory with the line “In the frame of thick greenery. ” The immediacy of children’s perception did not allow me to accept this mysterious frame, while I saw that the kindergarten Lenin was placed in the most ordinary wooden frame. Until a certain age, I still tried to give an acceptable explanation for the mysterious lines, for example, transferring the scene to the jungle, but over time I realized that the rest of the rhymed statements were even more doubtful.

Two kindergartens have merged into one in my memory, and I don’t see anything wrong with combining them in this story as well. The second kindergarten here, as it were, absorbs the first one, but, in fact, it has all the rights to it. This kindergarten fully corresponded to its name, because the children walked there in a real garden.

In order to get into it, one had to turn off the street into the courtyard and, entering one of the front doors, go up to the second floor. The entrance to the kindergarten was opened by an ordinary apartment door. The house stood on a small hill, which was completely invisible in the conditions of urban development. Meanwhile, even closed by houses, the hill remained in place and continued its secret existence. It opened only to those who, having risen to the second floor, went out from the opposite side of the house. From this side, the second floor became the first. And there was an exit to the garden.

End of introduction.
