Kindergarten group is … by age, names, principles of formation

Kindergarten has a positive effect on the socialization of children. This is where their social and communication skills develop. For a preschooler, kindergarten begins with a group. What is it – details below.

What is a kindergarten group?

The kindergarten group is an integral part of the preschool educational institution and is its structural unit. Groups are classified according to several criteria – the first and most important is age, as well as health status and length of stay. nine0003

Preschool is necessary for all kids

Five types of groups in preschool

There is the most important criterion, on the basis of which kindergarten groups are divided into five types.

Groups in kindergarten by age:

  • Preparatory level (from six to seven years).
  • Seniors (five to six years old).
  • Medium (four to five years).
  • Junior (three to four years old).
  • Short stay group or SCH (from one to three years). nine0018

Please note! The short stay group functions three days a week for three hours. Regular classes are held with children, but meals in such cases, as a rule, are not provided.

The baby begins to get acquainted with being in the kindergarten from a few minutes, and the duration of the stay gradually increases. Then it reaches half an hour, and eventually all three hours.

The task of teachers is to organize the adaptation of the crumbs as gently as possible. Parents are initially allowed to be present in the playroom with their child. But then, the parent can only be in the locker room. The child can come to the parent, but bringing toys there is not allowed. That is, the baby will have a choice, either to be with mom or dad, but get bored, or go to the guys and caregivers, but have fun. nine0003

Preschool is divided into groups

After adaptation, the parent can leave the baby in the care of caregivers. At the same time, you must always be in touch. The main thing is that the kid begins to trust the teacher, and such a connection is formed between them, thanks to which the teacher will be able to calm him down in a few minutes.

Please note! In case of neglecting the adaptation procedure, the baby may experience severe stress, after which he will not want to part with his parents for a long time, and will cease to trust others. nine0003

In the short stay group, just like in the regular group, there is a routine that is strictly adhered to. As a rule, it is mandatory to include:

  • games with physical activity;
  • musical games;
  • creative activities;
  • speech development classes;
  • didactic games;
  • development of motor skills.

A prerequisite is the alternation of activities, because it is still difficult for such kids to concentrate on one lesson for a long time. nine0003

Some kindergartens require a daily walk.

How are groups formed in kindergarten?

Teams in preschool educational institutions are formed for a calendar year. In Internet resources, the site administrator posts a text about available or missing places in the garden. Based on the number of vacant places, a new admission of children takes place on the basis of the documents of the parents (legal representatives). A sample application must be posted on Internet resources and on a stand directly in the building itself so that the parents of a preschooler can see the design. nine0003

Please note! The applicant must present a passport and documents for the child, as required by applicable law. The child is enrolled by order having a date and a number with a field indicating the date from which he will be enrolled.

During the calendar year, preschoolers are also enrolled (it doesn’t matter if it’s March or November), if there are free places, information about which is also posted on Internet resources and in official social network groups in a special section. nine0003

The order is obligatory in the preschool educational institution

The formation of groups according to the age criterion according to the Federal State Educational Standard

The federal state educational standard regulates the formation in the preschool educational institution according to the age criterion. This is necessary due to the fact that children of different ages have different needs, they have different skills and abilities, and there are physiological characteristics.

For the organization of classes and the process of education, better interaction with educators and communication with peers, the formation of groups according to this criterion is necessary. nine0003

Distribution of children into groups

Distribution of children into groups takes into account their age and state of health, mental and mental development. The number of children in the group is also taken into account. If there are no vacancies for enrollment to this particular teacher, then the child will be enrolled in another team with a smaller number of pupils.

Each room has its own name (“Bell”, “Teremok”, “Malinka”, “Early Dawn” and others). So, it is easier for children to remember the name, and it also creates a favorable emotional environment. In addition to the name, each group has its own script for the holidays and the decoration of the veranda, the playroom. nine0003

Toddlers are divided into age groups

How many groups are there usually in kindergarten?

The number of groups in kindergarten can, of course, be limited. The main limitation criterion is the design capacity of the building i.e. premises area. It also affects the number of occupancy of the institution.

Basic provisions of SanPiN 2.4.1.2660-10 by the number of people in the group1 and is the main document that must be followed when organizing the activities of a preschool institution.

Important! Groups in preschool educational institutions cannot have more people than is provided by SanPiN.

The allowed number of people depends on the area of the playing hall. The installed area differs for different ages: not less than 2.5 m2 per child for children under three years of age and not less than 2 m2 per child for children aged three to seven years. These norms apply to ordinary gardens. nine0003

As for kindergartens that develop and use programs specially designed for children with health problems, the number of pupils is determined in each case individually, taking into account the characteristics of the kids. At the same time, it is allowed to form classes of children of different ages in kindergartens of a compensating type, depending on the developmental features.

The number of babies in a group is regulated

SanPiN regulates the maximum allowable number of children in compensatory groups for the age of up to three years, taking into account the violations that children have:

  • Deaf and hard of hearing children – 6 people.
  • Blind and visually impaired children — 6 people.
  • Guys with serious speech problems — 6 people.
  • Toddlers with problems in movement and coordination – 6 people.
  • With a delay in intellectual and mental development – 6 people.
  • Difficult babies with two or more diseases of the body or mind – 5 people.
  • Preschool children with other health problems — 10 people. nine0018

The law also contains material that approves the maximum allowable number of children in compensatory groups for the age of over three years, taking into account the violations that children have:

  • Deaf children – 6 children.
  • Hearing impaired children – 8 crumbs.
  • Blind kids — 6.
  • Visually impaired kids — 10 people.
  • Children with severe speech difficulties — 10.
  • Children with speech therapy problems — 12.
  • Children with movement restrictions and impaired coordination — 8.
  • With intellectual retardation or mental illness – 8 or 10 people depending on the severity level.
  • Difficult children with two or more physical and/or mental illnesses — 5 people.
  • Children with other health problems — 15 people.
  • Children with autism — 5 people.

Please note! Minors with autism are enrolled in preschool only when they are three years old, and the younger child with autism is deprived of the opportunity to attend a public kindergarten. This is due to the fact that the older age is easier to socialize and make contact. nine0003

SanPiN defines the maximum allowable number of children in mixed groups (in the case when the formation comes from healthy preschool children and children with health problems).

Important! In this case, the condition of children is taken into account in each individual case.

The maximum number of children in a team, if the principle is combined:

  • Children under three. The allowable number of people is 10, and preschoolers with health problems – no more than three. nine0018
  • Children over three years of age. The allowed number is 17, and for preschoolers with a mental illness – no more than 5.
  • 4-5 years. The allowed number of babies is 15, and preschoolers who are visually impaired, hearing impaired, with mild mental underdevelopment, are not more than four.
  • 5-6 years old. The maximum allowable number of people is 10, while the blind, deaf, children, with difficulties in movement, problems with intelligence of higher degrees – no more than three.

The specifics of the group in kindergarten

A preschool educational institution can form groups not only by how many years (middle group, preparatory, senior, junior), but also taking into account specialization. Such teams are formed when there is a need for them. Such groups include children with disabilities, developmental delays, experiencing difficulties in communication, socialization, and learning.

There are also options where caregivers can work full-time or a short-term schedule can be arranged. Each kindergarten independently determines the type of groups. nine0003

Types of specialized groups according to GEF

Specialization in preschool educational institutions is necessary for the effective achievement of educational goals. Depending on the existing features, the baby is enrolled in one or another group in which an educational program is used, developed taking into account special goals and objectives.

What groups of children are there in preschool? There are the following types of specialized groups according to GEF:

  • Wellness. These groups are formed taking into account visits by children who have serious physical health problems or simply get sick often (for example, those suffering from tuberculosis, constant colds, bronchitis, etc. ). These children need a systematic implementation of a complex of recreational activities, treatment. In addition to the implementation of the educational program of preschool education, regular medical and recreational activities and procedures are also carried out, taking into account the health status of babies. nine0018
  • General developmental. The most common associations in which they take children without any special features of the state of physical or mental health. These groups implement educational programs for preschool education developed by teachers on the basis of the requirements of the Federal State Educational Standard.
  • Combined. They represent an association in one team of healthy children and those with health characteristics (both physical and mental). This is an extremely effective form, because children with developmental disabilities, communicating with healthy peers, progress more successfully than their peers attending regular preschool groups or receiving home education. The maximum allowable number of such children in a group with healthy children is limited by SanPiN. And in each case, enrolling a baby in a group is decided individually. His anatomical and physiological state and state of health are taken into account. As for the benefits for healthy children in this case, they learn to interact, communicate and contact with special babies who have problems with hearing, vision, musculoskeletal system, and mental development. This improves their communication culture, makes them more humane and tolerant. nine0018
  • Compensating directionality. They are classes that are formed from children who have differences in development from their peers. In relation to these preschool children, specially developed educational programs are used.

Groups in the kindergarten are formed taking into account several criteria (age, health status, time of stay). But, it is especially important that when completing groups, the individual characteristics of the physical and mental development of pupils are always taken into account. It is also correct that the occupancy of groups is limited if children with health problems are enrolled in them. nine0003

Main groups for Federal State Educational Standard the child spends most of the day in the garden. To make it easier for him to find contact with other children and learn the curriculum, preschool institutions are divided into groups. nine0003

The division by age is optimal for preschool educational institutions, since at each stage of growing up the baby has its own developmental characteristics and needs.

More details about the classification of age groups in kindergarten will be discussed later.

Main groups according to GEF

According to the Federal State Educational Standard, children are divided into groups according to age, physiological and psychological development.

The Federal State Educational Standard (FGOS) recommends that children be divided into groups according to their age, psychological and physical development. nine0003

Most kindergartens have five main groups:

  • nursery;
  • junior;
  • medium;
  • senior;
  • preparatory.

In some kindergartens, the younger group is divided into the first (2-3 years) and the second (3-4 years)

“The division of children by age ensures optimal physical and intellectual development. However, all children attending kindergarten may have a common problem – frequent illnesses. In children under 3-4 years old (toddler and younger groups), the child’s body is not yet ready to fight frequent infections, so children at this age can get sick every two weeks. And, unfortunately, there are no magic pills that would give strength to the child’s body to fight infections. But there are effective ways to strengthen immunity: regular meals (because the child’s intestines are one of the main immune organs) 4-5 times a day, vegetables and fruits should prevail in the diet; sleep schedule (end up no later than 22:00, sleep no shorter than 8 hours) and physical activity (walking, sections, swimming). nine0255

According to WHO, a child can get sick up to 11 times a year – and this is normal. The main thing is that the child recovers on his own, without complications, without taking antibacterial drugs, otherwise it is necessary to consult a doctor and conduct additional examinations”

Nursery

nine0002 Designed for children from 1.5 to 2 years. Often parents prefer to leave a child of this age at home. Therefore, nursery groups are not recruited in all kindergartens.

Toddlers learn to eat, dress and wash themselves in kindergarten. Since the main focus is on caring for the child and maintaining his health, nursery educators are subject to such mandatory requirements as:

  • teacher education;
  • knowledge in the field of pediatrics. nine0018

Junior group

In the younger group, classes for the development of speech, thinking and memory are held in a playful way.

This group enrolls children from 2 to 4 years. Here, kids begin learning in a playful way: they participate in classes for the development of speech, memory and thinking.

During role-playing games, children reinforce the following skills:

  • ability to navigate in space;
  • to distinguish between “right” and “left”; nine0018
  • perform sequential actions;
  • distinguish figures by color, size and shape;
  • develop independence.

At this age, children begin active socialization and the manifestation of their individuality. Therefore, it is important for the teacher in such a group to be able to find an approach to each specific child.

Middle group

The middle group accepts babies from 4 to 5 years old. At this age, the formation of personality begins. The child evaluates himself and others. The educational program for children of this age is aimed at the formation of correct moral and ethical values. nine0003

Main occupations include:

  • acquaintance with the outside world;
  • learning to count up to 10;
  • modeling, drawing, music lessons;
  • discussion of the behavior of characters in fairy tales.

Particular attention is paid to sports development, because at this age the kids are very active. They have regular physical education and dance classes.

Senior group

Children 5-6 years old are assigned to the older group, where they study children’s literature, get acquainted with addition and subtraction, and self-discipline. nine0002 The program of the senior group is designed for children 5-6 years old. It helps to consolidate the skills acquired in the previous year and includes:

  • communication on various topics in order to develop speech and broaden one’s horizons;
  • study of children’s literature;
  • familiarity with the principles of addition and subtraction;
  • making crafts from paper, plasticine and natural materials;
  • development of personal qualities: self-discipline, kindness, empathy. nine0018

In the senior group the child learns to analyze different situations and already has his own opinion. He has an interest in peers and a desire to make friends. One of the main tasks of a teacher working in such a group is to create a favorable psychological environment for communication and interaction of children.

Preparatory group

At the age of 6-7, the child begins attending a preparatory group and preparing for school life. In such a group, special attention is paid to the daily routine and discipline. nine0003

Educators conduct complex classes that combine teaching several subjects. They include study:

  • mathematics;
  • literature;
  • letters;
  • environment;
  • rules of the road.

A separate role is given to the development of the child’s creative abilities. In the preparatory group, children take part in theatrical performances, arrange music and dance competitions. nine0003

All these activities help not only effectively prepare the child for school, but also contribute to the development of his intellectual and communication skills.

Dividing into groups according to age helps children quickly adapt to kindergarten and better learn new knowledge. Not wanting to lag behind their peers, they learn faster, become more independent and self-confident.
