Infant Care Programs in Minneapolis, MN
From the day your child was born, they started learning. Your child learned the sound of your voice even before birth, and your child learned the sight of your face. Your child learned to smile and giggle whenever you gently caressed their face.
As your baby grows, they will need a safe environment where learning can continue naturally. Your infant will need additional experiences to understand the world around them.
At Miniapple International Montessori Schools, we offer infant programs to those in Minneapolis, Oakdale and Roseville, MN and the surrounding areas. Our programs allow your child to explore and develop skills necessary for healthy growth.
A Closer Look at Our Infant Program
Baby catching bubble.
Our infant programs care for children as young as 6 weeks and as old as 16 months. Our staff takes special care to ensure the environment stays warm and nurturing, with plenty of opportunities to learn through play.
For your child’s comfort and muscle growth, we supply movement apparatuses and infant-sized furniture. And for your child’s personal enjoyment and creativity, we also offer age-appropriate toys and practical activities.
Our professional educators are certified in pediatric CPR and First Aid, and trained in procedures to prevent Sudden Unexpected Infant Deaths (SUID) for your child’s safety. We have onsite consultations with the health nurse monthly to inspect the safety of the center’s environment, and to review health and safety practices.
As part of our programs in the Twin Cities, our teachers work to ensure your infant receives proper attention. We provide daily verbal and written communication to create consistent care between your infant’s home and school life.
Give Your Child an Early Start
At Miniapple International Montessori Schools, we want your child to develop a strong knowledge in movement and language, as well as a keen sense of independence. We believe that through our infant programs, your child will have a head start on their education.

“We love Miniapple! Although our son has only been in the Infant Room, we think the world of Miniapple and all the staff there. Everyone is friendly, kind, and wonderful with all the kids. Having your first child is hard, and bringing them to a daycare even more difficult. Miniapple and the staff in the Infant Room made that transition easier on us. The warm, nurturing, loving environment makes us happy we can bring him to a wonderful place. We’ve even learned a lot about being (better) parents from bringing our son to Miniapple. Kudos to Mary and the staff in the Infant Room – they are excellent, so loving and great with Isaac.”

With love for life
Their stories are passed down from generation to generation. Of course, some details are often erased from memory, but even what remains of such family stories is of great value for future generations. In these memories there is the memory of our ancestors, an understanding of where we came from, a generic force that can support in a difficult period of life. This is the ground under our feet on which we build our own lives. And also – this is our gratitude to the people who gave rise to our life.
Muza Petrovna ERMOLAEVA celebrated her 90th birthday on October 28th. When I went to her house, a lady appeared before me, as if from an aristocratic society – a beautiful hairstyle, elegant attire and a straight posture. Sitting near a window overlooking a well-groomed garden plot, she looked at photographs taken throughout her life. Sitting down next to her, we struck up a conversation.
MP : “Not everyone lives to be my age. This is either fate, or the person himself does everything for this: daily routine, nutrition … I once met my former colleague, a physical education teacher, we talked, and he said that he walks everywhere and feels good. And so, I listened to him, thought about it and decided to move more too. I used to live in an apartment, but I don’t like it there, within four walls, but here, in the house, fresh air, the courtyard came out and the beauty is all around. Every day I do exercises, but, to be honest, sometimes I am overcome by laziness, but I force myself. I believe that a person can create the conditions for himself to live long. I am very grateful to those who live near me. And when I get up in the morning, I wish all people good, happiness. And when a person loves life, he lives long. And I love life, and nature, and people.”
Muza Petrovna was born in Vologda. When she went to first grade, a teacher came to them, a blockade survivor with her granddaughter, and she asked to recite any poem. The boy Vasya volunteered and said, “At the seaside, the oak is green.” Our heroine remembers this moment very much.
During our meeting with her, Muza Petrovna also spoke about the hardships of the war years – this is both hunger and cold, that her father died in 1943, and her mother raised her children alone.
MP : “Our house was without amenities. You go out into the corridor and sit, waiting for your mother while she is at work. There was a House of Pioneers, we ran there to listen to the song “Arise, huge country.” On our house there was a poster “What have you done for the Motherland?”. I experienced the entire war. It is often said that people yearn for the past. Yes, indeed, very great nostalgia, and I would go back there again. Our age is people who have already been tested by life. We know what it’s like to live. And, most likely, the current generation will not understand us.”
After graduating from a music school, Muza Petrovna ended up on Sakhalin by assignment. I got to the island by train, and during the trip I managed to see the whole Soviet Union.
MP : “The distribution was in Korsakov, it was 1953. There were so many people … I ended up in Aleksandrovsk-Sakhalinsky. We traveled from Pobedino by car, at that time there were no trains yet. When I arrived, I thought – such a city, a port, but it turned out to be a small town.
Got a job at a teacher training college. This is how my life started here. From the first salary I bought myself a suit, because my dress was very old, I sent the second part of the salary to my mother to help. I always remember the old school with love – we had a lot of fun, it was interesting. We came there as if we were at home.”
Muza Petrovna’s daughter, Anna Vitalievna, joined our conversation.
A.V. : “My dad worked as an aircraft technician at the airport, my mom worked as a teacher of playing the domra, later she graduated from the university in Komsomolsk-on-Amur, faculty of pedagogy and psychology. We were four children in the family. It is very interesting for me to remember my childhood. We were small, teachers from the school, together with their children, gathered in our big house, and, I remember, a huge table was laid. It was cozy and fun.”
As Muza Petrovna said, at the beginning of her career there were no tools. And when the border detachment closed, they were given several tools. Then they formed a small orchestra.
MP : “We performed at holidays, anniversaries in our city. We also went to Arkovo and Due, to Polovinka, around the district. When I got higher education, I started to go with students to kindergartens for practice. The children have always welcomed us. I remember a lot about my colleagues and about life in general, it seems everything has flown by so quickly … but, of course, the years of the war will never be forgotten.
Later, Muza Petrovna met her future husband, who also came here from Altai on assignment. Together they attended evening school, which they went to only in order not to sit idle, but to do something. After the wedding, they lived with his aunt. Their children were born there.
A.V. : “The teachers put a lot of effort and patience into the students. My girls, classmates, constantly remember my mother, they say that she is so kind, sympathetic, always prompts and treats with understanding.
Very nice to hear that. Mom worked with dignity for all thirty years.
During the conversation, Muza Petrovna noted that at that time people were friendlier, almost everyone lived the same way and shared every piece of bread.
