Child and Infant Care in West Town, IL

WHERE TEACHERS AND YOUNG CHILDREN WORK AS PARTNERS TO BE CURIOUS, DISCOVER, AND EXPLORE THE WORLD.

We are proud to serve West Town and the surrounding neighborhoods of Chicago. We provide Montessori based infant care and toddler care, and also offer a full-day preschool program for children up to age six. At Montessori Magpie, children are encouraged to explore the world around them in a safe and carefully curated environment through open ended, hands-on experiences that help support problem solving and critical thinking.  Through these experiences children learn to communicate and interact with others in a way that supports language & cognition, physical, and social-emotional development as they learn and grow into their full potential.

MONTESSORI MAGPIE
OUR PANDEMIC HEALTH & SAFETY POLICIES AND PROCEDURES

At Montessori Magpie, the health and well-being of our children, families, and staff is of the utmost importance. In response to the current global health crisis, the Magpie leadership team has researched, planned, and implemented increased personal health and environmental cleanliness measures to ensure that our Magpie community remains safe and well-cared for while at school. Protocols are adjusted as new information becomes available and new guidelines are set forth by health officials.

  • Magpie follows the guidelines for childcare centers set forth by the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH)

  • All staff and children over the age of 2 years wear masks at all times while inside the school building (except during mealtimes and for children during naps)

  • Magpie staff regularly review and implement extensive training on enhanced personal health hygiene and environmental cleaning procedures

  • We conduct daily health screenings for children and staff including temperature checks

  • Magpie has increased physical classroom size and reduced overall classroom enrollment numbers in order to decrease occupancy and enhance social distancing amongst children and staff

  • Magpie incorporates personal health practices into the daily curriculum including proper hand washing throughout the day

  • We have implemented enhanced daily cleaning, sanitizing, and disinfecting procedures of the environment including all touchpoints, surfaces, and toys using EPA-approved disinfecting solutions

  • Magpie regularly monitors the air health and hygiene in our space with routine inspections and enhanced maintenance of its ventilation systems, including the addition of multiple portable air cleaners to enhance indoor air hygiene per recent CDC recommendations

  • We strictly limit the number of visitors inside the school building; drop-off and pick-up occur outside of the building

  • Magpie classes and curriculum are designed to incorporate additional time outside as weather permits

  • Magpie follows an enhanced illness policy for children and staff as follows:

    • If a child or staff member becomes ill with any symptoms of COVID-19 (cough, fever of 100. 4 degrees Fahrenheit or greater, muscle aches, headache, diarrhea, vomiting, chills, shortness of breath, loss of taste or smell, sore throat, runny nose, generally not feeling well) the person will remain at home until the following conditions have been met:

      • They are free from fever without the use of fever reducing medication for at least 72 hours;

      • They are no longer displaying any symptoms of COVID-19;

      • It has been at least 10 days since the onset of their illness;

      • They have provided the center with documentation from their medical provider clearing the child or staff member for safe return to the center.

Graduation day in the garden today,

We used to gather here with the whole family.

Dads, moms are watching now

And they are trying to understand:

Have we run out of worries?

Or start?

The song “Graduation Mayhem”

Poetry

1 child

2 children From year to year, 6 years in a row, we came to kindergarten

Cheerful, satisfied.

But those days have passed, today we are graduates, and tomorrow we will be

Schoolchildren.

4 children In the garden, we learned to count and draw, and dance, learned roles.

Board and chalk, and pencil, and watercolors, and gouache are just like in school

5 children. Here, warmth, care, affection were given to us every hour,

Any of us came to this house, as if in a fairy tale!

Song “What is kindergarten”

1 child. So we grew up, and we are waiting for the school in the very first grade!

2 children Do you remember 5 years ago when we went to kindergarten?

3 children. Why don’t you go, they took us in wheelchairs.

We often sat on the handles,

We did not want to stomp our feet.

4 children I remember crying every day,

Waiting for my mother, looking out the window.

5 children Yes, we were all good,

Well, what to take from us, after all, kids!

6 children And I did this,

At lunch I fell asleep over the soup.

7 children I used to eat badly,

They spoon-fed me.

The bib saved us from porridge,

From tea, soup, curdled milk.

8 children And remember, I built large cities out of sand

.

9 children Oh….. don’t!

We all baked Easter cakes,

Not very smoothly, as best we could.

01 child And together we played,

We treated each other!

11 children Such were the naughty,

They fought with their hands and feet.

12 children And some even with their teeth,

. . . . All this is in the past, and now we are being escorted to the first class!

In September, a cheerful bell

(Children sit on chairs)

Presenter 1: Today we have gathered with you on an interesting occasion!

Such crumbs were just tenderness

And you are an example for those who are very small

For the kids that stay with us!

They will come to our hall today

To remind you how you used to be

Guys also released other children into life.

Toddlers enter

How can you find out the time by the clock

Add 3 and 8 and subtract 4

2 And you told about the stars about the world

You read fairy tales where elves and fairies

Children were taught to believe in their dreams

We want to say thanks today,

After all, every child was loved by you.

Presenter 1

Game

Presenter 1: Dear Sirs, and now we present you a multi-episode blockbuster

Scene “The best student”

Leading girl:

– There are all sorts of stories in life.

We will show you one of them now.

We all came up with this scene together,

Well, now we ask you to clap.

(They run out of the backstage: Dad is reading a newspaper, mom is at the phone, older brother is at the computer, grandmother and son are behind the scenes)

(phonogram of a phone call)

Mom (at the table)

– Hello! Girlfriend, how are you. (shakes her leg, saws her nails)

Already the 103rd series has passed.

I watch “Daddy’s Daughters” every day,

And I’m not too lazy to continue watching.

The youngest son (pulls a heavy satchel from backstage):

– Hello, mommy, so much has been asked,

(throws it on the table)

That I can’t move the satchel from the threshold. Help me.

(gives bag to son)

Sorry, son, important conversation,

Eat and go for a walk in the yard.

Son (phonogram Dr. Watson runs to dad):

– Dad, listen (dad turns away, sitting on a chair), dad, listen, dad, hear, help solve the problem. (throws the satchel on dad’s lap)

I almost cry from the lessons… our countries.

Such an interesting article,

It was not in vain that I brought home the newspaper.

Then I’ll run to watch football,

I won’t help you, son.

Son (runs around older brother sitting on the floor):

– Little brother (pulls brother by the shoulder), don’t leave me in trouble.

Brother (gets up from the floor)

– Don’t distract me with any nonsense.

My neighbor gave me a new CD to listen to,

Then I need to get on the Internet.

In short, I’m busy with important work,

Your grandmother will help you.

Son (runs to the backstage and shouts granny, granny!!!!!):

Grandmother:

Run, run! (limping out of the wings, stands in the foreground with her son)

Son:

– Granny, you have to save me.

I’m so tired and I want to go to sleep.

Grandmother: (picks up her knapsack)

– Go, granddaughter, I’ll complete the tasks,

Granny still has some knowledge left.

(shrugs his hands to the audience)

(Grandma takes out a textbook)

Son: Thank you, grandma. (Son skipping to the wings and back to his grandmother)

Son :

Oh! I completely forgot:

We need to take waste paper to school.

Today we are passing the speed cross.

(puts the textbook into the satchel)

Grandmother: I wish you had grown up, granddaughter. (shakes her hands in front of him, takes her grandson by the hand, they run backstage, music, everyone claps)

Son: (jumping with a diary and a medal, a grandmother with a bandaged waste paper in her hand hobbles a little behind, all the characters come to the fore)

Son: – They gave me a medal,

(referring to grandmother) a diary for you

Together: Let’s see who is the best student?

Open the diary: “Grandmother – 5+. ” (bow, leave)

1 j. Gentleman is a masculine word.

We have known it for a long time.

2 j. The gentleman is always neat,

Polite, honest and gallant.

3 j. Etiquette is well aware of

, and disposes to itself.

“Dance of the Gentlemen” (boys with hats) (girls leave)

The boys stand in their places and wait for the girls

1 We will dance the parting waltz for you,
And in our dance we will grow up now,
Look, our boys are gentlemen,
And the girls are ladies, what manners!

2 What a pity that the waltz in this hall is farewell,
It is gentle, airy and very sad.
We will grow up and remember him,
Look at the disks and tremble with our soul,

3 After all, we part with our childhood with a waltz,
But we remain from childhood forever!
We will have to learn different dances,
But the waltz in kindergarten … never forget!

Waltz “Anastasia”

Girl: You got hard work –
It requires a lot of patience,
After all, everyone understands for himself,
Children what education means.

While the working day dragged on –
You replaced the mother for the children.
And today everyone wants
THANK YOU for everything!

“Farewell”

Congratulations:

Head:

Nowadays, no, it’s not easy

to manage a kindergarten.

Every day a million questions,

All of them need to be solved.

Yes, work here is not honey,

Not everyone could do it here.

The fact that our kindergarten is alive –

Thank you!

Methodist:

You need to think in a modern way,

To raise children.

All sciences, no doubt

Methodist needs to know.

Can compose any program,

Present plans for training,

Will develop and organize everything,

Organize with teachers.

Speech therapist

When the children came,

They said: “lyba”, “lacquer”,

You taught them diction,

“Lybak” suddenly became a fisherman!

Thank you for the lessons,

For activities with children,

What we hear in the end –

This is all your work!

We wish you success,

May your work be invaluable,

Let the experience of a speech therapist grow,

New children, new strength!

Fizruk:

She is young, active,

She loves sports lessons!

Runs with us, plays “Traps”.

All the kids love her.

We say thank you and thank you from the bottom of our hearts

Muzruk:

You have a magical job

Sounds and notes have conquered you.

You can command

Melodies sound in the soul.

Thank you for your songs,

That they danced with us together,

That the music of all our days

Sounded merrier with you!

Supply manager:

Working day at the supply manager

Very difficult to predict.

Now the flood hangs as a threat,

Now the plumbing again,

The battery has burst,

There is a revision going on.

We didn’t have time to look back,

The garden was closed for repairs.

How to live without a caretaker?

Wa….., we hasten to thank you!

The laundress:

Aunt Asya never dreamed of

The whiteness of such linen,

Our sheets shone

At a quiet hour beckoning to you.

There is a person in the garden,

Washes wonderfully.

Thank you for your cleanliness,

you …….

Cook

Who came to kindergarten in the morning?

These are our chefs.

Breakfast porridge is ready,

The porridge is cooked. Hooray!

Who cooked fragrant soup

And a side dish of different cereals?

Who baked buns for us

Or an apple pie?

These are our chefs

They have been working since six in the morning.

Dear cooks,

Adults and children

Thank you,

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts

For borscht, cutlets, porridge…

We appreciate your work!

NURSE

She has an office.

And what’s not there!

Syringe, pills, plaster, cotton wool –

All of a sudden guys start getting sick!

There is also iodine just in case,

But health is still better!

Follow him in the morning

Nurse.

And we will say thank you for a long time!

FOR THE CARPENT

You have done a lot for our group,

You have a chisel, screws at hand,

Nails, planer, hacksaw, saw,

This makes my head spin.

Set up a shelf and a soft sofa,

Thank you very much, we will tell you!

To the guard

So that all sorts of villains

Do not enter our kindergarten,

We have an important employee,

Guardian of Children’s Peace.

You are reliable and courageous

Protecting the kindergarten,

At night, when all the children

Sleep in their beds at home.

We wish you success

In your difficult service

And we say goodbye today,

Because graduation!

Robotics

We admit that we are very,

Your subject is interesting,

We love robotics,

There is no more joyful occupation.

And today we wish you

Powerful patience,

To calmly endure

Our behavior.

ENGLISH TEACHER

Here is a green orange-

In English it will be GREEN!

A lemon, when it’s ripe,

In English it’s YELLOW!

Now we know how to pronounce everything,

NANNY

Beauty in our group –

Comfort and cleanliness.

Who creates order?

Washes cups and spoons,

Cleans glass in windows.

Can tell a story,

Can read a book.

As a caregiver she is needed

As a helper.

We love and respect her.

Childishly called a nanny.

Educator

Maybe we just got used to it,

But you can’t help but see it,

What do teachers usually have

Tired eyes in the evening …

We know what it is,

Restless kids !

Here you won’t find peace with one person,

And not with such a crowd.

That one is funny, but this one looks askance,

There the fighter is already starting a fight…

And questions? Thousands of questions…

And anyone needs an answer.

How much affection and care is needed,

Hear everyone, understand everyone…

Thankful and hard work

Constantly replacing mom…

Mom is not anxious at work…

Children’s voices are cheerful. ..

After all, babies are always watched

Kind tired eyes.

The day is over… Not all songs have been sung.

Children are not disturbed by sleep…

So, please accept our bow from the whole planet,

And please accept our bow from us!!!

Child: What will happen to us next,

What will happen after that turn

What will lead to school like an arrow

What will happen? Study, work will lead us into the world of knowledge

But what about us, what will we be like in 50, 100, 1000 years???

Remember us like this!!!! (together)
