He could stand up for himself – after all, sports training and natural courage allowed him to do this. But in this case, a huge scandal could break out. nine0003

He also starred in other series – “Lie to me”, “Detective Rush”, “Law and Order”.
Filmography
Gradually, the young and talented actor begins to get more and more roles. Moreover, not only in serials, but also in feature films. In 2012, he played Lieutenant Drake in the film Bullet Wound. nine0003
In 2013, the premiere of the biographical film “42” about the life of the famous baseball player Jack Robinson took place. The protagonist of the picture is an African American who lives in the United States. Locals are prejudiced against those who have a different skin color from them. But despite this, many “blacks” are achieving unprecedented success. Jack was such a person. From school, he was drawn to sports, and after that he became a real “star” of baseball.
In 1947, he joined the Brooklyn Dodgers. And this circumstance influenced the worldview of the inhabitants of the United States, sports fans. On their attitude towards “blacks”. nine0003
There were a lot of people who wanted to play the legendary Jack Robinson. But the director of the picture, Brian Helgeland, chose Chedevik Boseman. The actor’s partner on the set was Harrison Ford, Christopher Meloni, Nicole Behari.
In 2014, Boseman was named “Star of Tomorrow”. And it is no coincidence. After all, now it is a very famous and popular actor. He is invited to participate in various films, the most diverse characters.
Cooperation with the American company “Marvel” turned out to be very successful for the actor. Based on the comics released by her, many good films were made. And Boseman played a key role in several of them at once. nine0003
His first work, in collaboration with this company – the film “The First Avenger: Confrontation”. He played the heir to the throne of Wakanda, T’Challa, in this film. According to the plot, Wakanda is a state in Africa with incredibly advanced technologies. After the tragic death of his father, T’Challa becomes the ruler of this country and receives the power of the Black Panther. Now he can protect his people and all of humanity from the forces of evil.
At the beginning of 2018, the continuation of the story was released – the film “Black Panther”. It details how Challa got the throne, what difficulties he had to face. nine0003
And in May 2018, the new film “Infinity War” was released, which became one of the most expensive films in the history of world cinema. In it, Boseman also played T’Challa and, apparently, the actor will continue to collaborate with Marvel in the future. In 2019, the film “Avengers – 4” with the participation of Chadwick will be released.
Personal life and hobbies
Chadwick Boseman, despite his busy shooting schedule, finds time to train. Thanks to regular sports activities, the actor is in excellent shape. And this allows him to easily play athletes and characters who have supernatural powers. nine0003
Many people wonder what is going on in the personal life of actor Chadwick Boseman? Is his heart free? But information about whether the actor has a wife and children did not appear on the Web and in the press.
Most likely, personal life for a popular actor is now in the background. The main thing for him now is his career.
The actor loves to communicate with his fans on social networks. Chadwick Boseman especially likes Instagram. He tries to regularly post fresh posts in it. But the 40-year-old actor does not make any hints about his personal life. If he posts photos with girls on his page, then only in a working environment. nine0003
Childhood, part of which was religion, influenced the later life of the actor. It is known that he is a believer, a Christian. Interestingly, he sang in the church choir.
According to the actor’s former pastor, he still believes in Christian values. The actor himself does not deny this. He even admitted that he believes that God helped him get the role of Black Panther. The actor really wanted to play this character and prayed that this would happen. As a result, his dream came true.
Black Panther is an Oscar-nominated superhero blockbuster
This Sunday, February 24, the Oscars will take place at the Dolby Theatre. Among the candidates for the main prize is Ryan Coogler’s superhero film Black Panther. We are publishing a review by Nikita Kartsev from issue 9/10 for 2018, where he talks about the duality and complexity of this expensive picture.
Black Panther is one of the heroes of the Marvel Universe. Prince and later king of the people of Wakanda. A lost country hidden from everyone in the heart of Africa. A state that has achieved power thanks to (alien) natural resources. Once upon a time, a meteorite with vibranium, the strongest substance in the universe, fell here. Now in the middle of the poorest continent, covered with a holographic veil, people live in whose hands incredible technologies turned out to be. nine0003
The image of the Black Panther comic book hero was born in the same year as the radical political organization of the same name – in 1966. It is difficult not to see a certain symbolism in this coincidence. The duality of any truly vivid image, which can carry completely different meanings with equal confidence. In the film, this duality is emphasized, brought to the fore. Black people here are at the same time the most oppressed, disenfranchised people – and the most intelligent, rich, talented and advanced people on Earth. Hence the film’s key conflict. Between those who, following traditions, prefer that their homeland continue to remain neutral, deliberately not interfering in the affairs of the big world, and those who demand to open up, interact and share their treasures with humanity. First of all, with that part of him that was born with dark skin. The bearers of two radically opposite points of view are two brothers, and their dispute turns into a real fratricide. The events of Black Panther pick up years later, when the sons of both brothers reach maturity. One, T’Challa (Chadwick Boseman), following the tragic death of his father in the previous Marvel film Captain America: The First Avenger. Confrontation” ascends the throne. The second, N’Jadaka, nicknamed Killmonger (Michael B. Jordan), in the status of a robber and hired killer, comes to Wakanda to challenge the crown. The further development of not only the state, but the whole civilization depends on which of them wins. nine0003
Ryan Coogler (American director and citizen of Nigeria) made a big name for himself with his traditional debut Fruitvale Station (2013), which was shown at Un Certain Regard in Cannes and won the Best Debut Award. The film is based on a real story that took place on the eve of the New Year 2009, when a white police officer showed unreasonable cruelty during the detention of a black man. The footage of Oscar Grant’s agonizing death, captured on mobile phone cameras and shown on federal airwaves, has launched a serious process in American society, forcing serious attention to be paid to the problem of abuse of power in the police. Fruitvale Station, for all its straightforwardness and artistic ingenuity, fell into the nerve of time, as a film should act on the topic of the day. Oscar Grant, like Fruitvale station itself, had become symbols long before Coogler. The film only strengthened them in this status. nine0003 Black Panther, 2018 © WDSSPR
Black Panther, since it’s based on a comic book, also starts with a myth. In the prologue, we are talking about the internecine wars of African tribes for a powerful meteorite. Coogler makes it clear: nothing started now, everything came out of something. Any conflict of our days stretches from a deep (even alternative) past. Whoever you are, whatever you do, at birth you are automatically responsible for everything that not only you, but also your ancestors did. nine0003
Another important theme for Kugler is the classic confrontation between traditional and modern society. The film generally paid increased attention to the lifestyle of a typical African. All the tribes of Wakanda look different, but equally bright and original, symbolizing the rich heritage of African culture. The most entertaining thing here is the procedure for gaining power by the Black Panther. Formally, it is transmitted along with a special flower that has absorbed particles of vibranium, like some Peter Parker – through a spider bite. But the key is not in the mechanical procedure for obtaining power, but in the ritual that precedes it. Before you ascend the throne, you must earn this right in a duel – without any superpowers, practically with your bare hands; exactly as it has been for centuries. But still, no matter how confusing the line of palace coups, the main question that Kugler poses to himself is not political, but ethical. Boseman is not the first actor to play a black comic book character. But it is his character that brings the discussion about the equal rights of all people to a new round. nine0003
Black Panther stands out in stark contrast to Marvel’s films. The world is no longer divided into good and evil, black and white, and therefore the villain here, more than ever, is close to the status of a hero. But outside of the superhero movie ghetto, Panther stands apart. The typical move of a movie based on an alternate version of history is to swap strong and weak. Look at the same situation from the point of view of another. In Inglorious Basterds, Tarantino used the power of cinema to burn down the Nazi elite in the cinema. And in Django Unchained, he turned a slave into a brave cowboy. Despite the obvious racial aspect, “Black Panther” is not like any of its brothers in the “black” movie – filmed by black directors with black actors about the life of the black population of America. Steve McQueen’s 12 Years a Slave postulated the black man’s incredible resilience in the face of injustice. Spike Lee’s new Black Klansman is an attempt in the genre of absurd comedy to denote his resourcefulness and sharp mind. The sensational “Moonlight” by Barry Jenkins – the tenderness and vulnerability of each of us, despite the seeming strength. Ryan Coogler deliberately tries to escape from the shackles of “black” cinema. Not for a moment forgetting the topic of racism, he seems to deliberately set it aside. The key confrontation unfolds here not between the descendants of slaves and the descendants of the oppressors, but between the inhabitants of the enchanted African country themselves. nine0003
Three years earlier, rapper Kendrick Lamar (who also wrote the title track for the film) had set himself the same challenge. Hailing from an underprivileged area of Los Angeles and one of America’s top black stars, Lamar achieved worldwide fame with his groundbreaking album To Pimp a Butterfl y. In addition to the cross-cutting plot and the image of the devil (affectionately named Lucy) haunting Kendrick, who turns out to be the second person of the rapper, this record has an unusual look at the racial issue. In the central track from the Blacker the Berry record, the narration comes from the point of view of a former gang member who killed another African American in a street showdown, “blacker than me.” Thus, describing in detail the difficult life of a black man in modern America, with the harshest criticism, Kendrick falls upon himself. Confessing the worst sin of a person who fights for equal rights – hypocrisy. nine0003 Black Panther, 2018 © WDSSPR
New times formulate new problems. On the one hand, “one cannot live happily in a palace knowing how many people are starving.” On the other hand, “if the world finds out about us, we will lose everything we have.” Exactly this crack – between the postulated ideas of humanism and the real state of things – constantly threatens to split ours, and not the fantasy civilized world. The people of Wakanda have known only two strategies so far. Active resistance and passive observation. The first achieved their – exceptionally noble – goal with fire and sword. The latter followed Tolstoy’s principle of non-resistance to evil by violence, or, as they would say today, the theory of small deeds. Black Panther is trying to offer his own, more complex – if not utopian – path. The path of dialogue and interaction. While other rappers, politicians, and other masterminds are talking about the need for uniform rights and freedoms for everyone, looking for and finding constant evidence of the oppression of the weak (women, children, national, sexual and other minorities), Kugler is trying to go from the other side – to bring to the front Chekhov’s plan is to “squeeze a slave out of oneself drop by drop.” nine0003
Black Panther is not a movie of retribution, but of repentance and forgiveness. Battles, disputes for power, wealth and territory, occupying most of the rather simple plot, serve only as a background, preparation for something truly important. Here, any injustice of the outside world fades into the background compared to personal responsibility.
