AMERICA’S MOST ACCREDITED

We’re so proud!

Nationally only 10% of daycares are accredited – nearly 100% of our learning centers are. That’s a big difference,
and that means KinderCare kids are getting the very best. Here’s why.

SCHOOL-READY

What Learning Looks Like

Our talented early-childhood teachers set kids down the path toward becoming lifelong learners in a positive, safe, and nurturing environment.

Hales Corners KinderCare Programs

Infant Programs (6 weeks-1 year)

Leaving your baby in someone else’s care is a big step. Everyone at our
centers—most importantly, our naturally gifted infant teachers—will work with
you to make sure the transition goes smoothly. When you step into our infant
classroom, you’ll see how much we want your infant to feel safe, loved, and
ready to explore their world.

Toddler Programs (1-2 Years)

Everything in our toddler classroom is designed for little explorers. That’s
because a lot is going on at this age. When your child is wandering all over the
place, that means they’re learning and discovering new things every day. We’ll
help them explore their interests (and find new ones!) as they play and learn.

Discovery Preschool Programs (2-3 Years)

This age is filled with so much wonder and curiosity. That’s why we offer a ton
of books and toys and bring artwork down to kids eye level. Children in
discovery preschool also begin to learn how we all work together in a
classroom. Simple math and science, pretend play, and group play help them
get used to a more structured school setting.

Preschool Programs (3-4 Years)

This age is all about expression, when kids really start to form their own ideas
about what they want to play and how they want to create. Every day in our
preschool classroom, your child will explore science experiments, create
artwork, and play pretend—all the skills needed for their big next step:
kindergarten!

Prekindergarten Programs (4-5 Years)

When you walk into one of our pre-K classrooms, you’ll see artwork and
writing displayed around the room. Labels are everywhere to help kids connect
letters with words. You’ll also see pictures on the walls that reflect the families
in our community. Your child will also deepen their knowledge in language,
math, science, Spanish, and social skills.

Before- and After-School Programs (5-12 Years)

You can count on us to provide reliable care for your school-ager while you’re
at work, with safe transportation from our center to your child’s school and
back! Whether your child wants to start a drama club, build a volcano, or
create a comic book, they will have a place to follow their dreams. Your child
will start and end the day with a whole lot of fun!

School Break Programs (preschool, prekindergarten, and school-age)

Winter break, spring break, summer break—when school’s out (but you still need to work), you
can count on KinderCare to provide a safe and supportive learning environment that’s focused
on fun. We welcome children ages 5-12 during school break times and make sure they have a
sensational, screen-free experience they won’t forget.

Participating Child Care Aware Center

KinderCare partners with Child Care Aware® of America to offer fee assistance for
Active Duty military families and flexible support to fit their needs when care at a Child
Development Center on the installation is not available.

Learning Adventures – Enrichment Program

Cooking Academy™ (3-12 Years)

In Cooking Academy, kids learn new recipes from cultures around the world and
develop a healthy relationship with food. They’ll whip up everything from Southwest
rainbow lettuce wraps to pumpkin muffins, building their skills in STEM, communication,
and more along the way. And yes—little chefs get to eat their culinary creations!

Music Explorers™ (2-4 Years)

KinderCare families are already giving a standing ovation to our newest Learning
Adventures program: Music Explorers! Kids will learn to sing, move, listen, play
instruments, and even create their own tunes. Our original curriculum blends math,
science, social studies, literacy, and mindfulness (think yoga!) for a uniquely KinderCare
way of learning the foundations of music.

Phonics Adventures® (2-4 Years)

Learning how to read is a whole lot of fun at KinderCare! We help kids grow to love
books and words (and get ready for kindergarten) in our Phonics Adventures program.
From discovering the basics of vowels to practicing poetry, kids learn all about letters
and sounds in small-group lessons made just for their age group. (Bonus: Kids who
attend our phonics program are more prepared than their peers for school—and we
have the data to prove it.)

STEM Innovators (3-8 Years)

You’ve probably heard a lot about how important STEM education is for your child, but
what does that really mean? Our STEM Innovators program takes kids’ natural ability to
make sense of the world and applies it to robotics, chemistry, coding, geology, and
more. While your child experiments, they’ll discover how to use technology to do
amazing things!

Garden Adventures

Our Teachers

We’re the only company in early childhood education to select teachers based on natural talent. Being a great educator isn’t enough though.
KinderCare teachers are also amazing listeners, nurturers, boo-boo fixers, and smile-makers. Put more simply,
we love our teachers and your child will, too.

Meet just a few of our amazing KinderCare teachers!

A KINDERCARE TEACHER WITH

An Artist’s Heart

“My classroom is full of art!” says Mary Annthipie-Bane, an award-winning early childhood educator at KinderCare. Art and creative expression, she says, help children discover who they really are.

We put our best-in-class teachers in a best-in-class workplace. We’re so proud to have been named one of Gallup’s 37 winners of the Great Workplace Award.
When you put great teachers in an engaging center, your children will experience
an amazing place to learn and grow.

Family Stories

Don’t take our word for it. Hear what our families have to say about our amazing center!

  • I wanted to express my gratitude for KinderCare. Today I had to leave work early and take my grandmother to the hospital. While I was there, I could focus on helping my grandma because I knew my kids were in good hands. When I rushed back get my kids, they did not notice it was beyond their usual pick-up time–they were engaged with their peers, I got a hug from one of the teachers after she asked how things were going, and Kayla had made a soup in cooking class that was hot and ready to go home. I consider it a blessing that my kids can be valued socially and have academic rigor at KinderCare, but also I want to recognize the difference that this center’s staff truly makes–my family and I are so thankful to have them in our daily lives. Theresa, thank you for your leadership at KinderCare, as I have seen a positive impact on the staff and environment since you have become the Director.

    Nichole – KinderCare Parent
  • My son attends KinderCare at Franklin/Hales Corners, WI center. We love it there! All of the staff are wonderful and welcoming to kids and parents. My son has some severe food allergies. He is a toddler and puts everything in his mouth, so we worry about him getting into something that could literally kill him. The KinderCare staff are so good with him and keep him safe. They are always thinking about his allergies when they do new projects or activities, and call me at exactly the moments I would want them to to ask if something is okay for him to touch (which really means, he’ll put it in his mouth). They have adapted their curriculum so that my son can participate whenever possible – they have made me cry many times knowing that he can be with his friends. I know that his teachers truly love and care for him. It makes me feel so good knowing that he’s safe and loved when I’m not with him. The Director and staff really deserve some recognition for going above and beyond.

    Kim – KinderCare Parent
  • My children were ages four and two when they began daycare. Previously they were cared for exclusively by family, so as a mother, I was nervous leaving them for the first time with strangers. The staff eased all of my concerns right from the start. All of the teachers were and continue to be warm and caring toward myself and my children. They always greet us with a smile in the morning and welcome my children into their classrooms. I have a very open relationship with their teachers and always know what has gone on during the day, both good and bad. I feel comfortable talking to the teachers about any topic and know that they are genuinely interested in what happens in my child’s life. The staff and teachers have helped with potty training, eating concerns (including a special diet), and transitioning into school. My children have grown to love going to daycare and look forward to “daycare days.” They talk about all the fun activities they do, friends they’ve made, and their teachers. I know that when I drop them off they are being cared for just as I would. As a mom, it’s a great feeling knowing the teachers and staff will not only keep my children safe, but are truly invested in their lives. Thank you for everything you do, Hales Corners KinderCare!

    Jennifer A. – KinderCare Parent
  • Honestly, we cannot say enough good things about how well the staff and all the teachers take care of my daughter. They do such a good job answering all of our questions and making us feel comfortable. I tell all my friends and family what a great daycare we have!

    Christina F. – KinderCare Parent
  • Entrusting your children to someone else is always difficult, but Hales Corners KinderCare has made it easy. The teachers are warm, friendly, and honest. They listen to your needs or concerns. Being a pediatric nurse, I am very critical of others when taking care of the medical needs of children. I have always been impressed with the communication and consistency of fantastic care this staff provides.

    Lynelle F. – KinderCare Parent
  • My granddaughter currently attends KinderCare Hales Corners during off-school days and breaks. Their curriculum keeps her engaged and eager to go to daycare! Not to mention they offer great field trips to keep her active, but also bring fun activities to center. My granddaughter has attended other centers over the years, but this one is by far the best! The director and staff are amazing! Thank you so much for keeping her safe and happy!

    Patty D. – KinderCare Parent

Six of Crows read online by Lee Bardugo (Page 5)

Caz and Hales talked between the weather and the fact that with the increase in rents at Cooper’s they began to dilute alcohol with water – in general, about anything but the real reason meetings. In theory, they should chat, apologize, agree to stick to Fifth Harbor’s borders, and go out for a drink. At least that’s what Per Haskel insisted.

« But what does he know about such negotiations? , Inej thought as she looked for the dark silhouettes of the guards patrolling the roof.

Haskell was the head of the Misfits, although in recent years he preferred to sit in a warm office, drink beer, make models of ships and talk about his exploits to anyone who will listen. He naively believed that disputes over territory could be resolved in the same way as before: a short scuffle and a friendly handshake. But Inej’s sixth sense told her it wouldn’t work. Her father would have said that even shadows wouldn’t pry into other people’s business today. Something terrible is going to happen here.

Kaz rested his palms on the crow’s head of his cane. He looked perfectly calm; his narrow face was hidden by the brim of his hat. Most of the gang members liked flashy outfits and jewelry: gaudy vests, watches with fake gems, pants with colorful patterns and patterns. Kaz was a rare exception, a model of restraint. His dark waistcoat and trousers had a simple cut and a strict, businesslike style. At first, it seemed to her that this was a matter of taste, but soon Inej realized that he was mocking rich merchants in this way. He liked to look like them.

“I’m a businessman,” he told her one day. – No more, no less.

– You are a thief, Kaz.

— Didn’t I say the same thing?

Now, in this position, he looked like a priest about to preach to a group of circus performers. Very Young Priest , Inej thought with renewed excitement. Kaz called Hales an old man who should have retired long ago, but the lieutenant of the Black Peaks didn’t look old. He may have had wrinkles at the corners of his eyes, and the skin under his sideburns sagged, but he gave the impression of an experienced and confident man. It made Kaz look… well, seventeen years old.

– Let’s be honest, ja ? We just want our cut,” Hales said, tapping the mirrored buttons of his green vest. “It’s not fair that you take all the money tourists from the pleasure boats that sail into Fifth Harbor.

– Fifth harbor is ours, Hales. The right to rob these suckers who came to have some fun belongs to the Dregs.

He shook his head.

“You are young, Brekker,” he smiled indulgently. You don’t seem to understand how things work here. The harbors belong to the city, and we have as much right to them as anyone else. We all need to earn a living somehow.

Strictly speaking, he was right. But Fifth Harbor was considered useless and abandoned before Kaz took over. He dredged the bottom, built wharfs and embankments – in order to carry out all this, the Ravens Club had to be laid. Per Haskel was beside himself with rage and called him a fool, but eventually gave in. According to Kaz, the old man’s exact words were: “Go and strangle yourself.” The efforts of the guy, however, were not in vain: in less than a year, the Fifth Harbor paid off all the costs. Now merchant ships come there, as well as boats with tourists and soldiers who want to gawk at the sights and taste all the pleasures of Ketterdam. The dregs processed each of the arrivals, driving them – and their wallets – into brothels, taverns and gambling houses owned by the gang. Fifth Harbor enriched Haskell and solidified the position of the Misfits among the Barrel gangs, making them one of the main players – not even the Ravens Club had such success. But with the profits came unwanted attention. Hales and the Black Peaks have been giving the Misfits trouble all year, encroaching on Fifth Harbor and plucking the simpletons who weren’t rightfully theirs.

“The fifth harbor is ours,” repeated Kaz. – This is not discussed. Besides, you’ve been intercepting our traffic coming from the docks and intercepted a shipment of yurda that was supposed to arrive two days ago.

– I don’t understand what you mean.

— I know you’re good at this, but stop playing dumb, Hales.

He stepped forward. Jesper and Big Bolliger tensed up.

– Stop cockereling, boy. We both know your old man won’t have enough gunpowder for a real showdown.

Kaz’s laughter was dry, like the rustling of fallen leaves.

– But and deal with you, and we came here not to joke. Do you want war, Hales? I will do my best to fill your belly with it.

— What if you are gone, Brekker? Everyone knows that you are the backbone of the Haskell gang. Break it and the Misfits will eliminate themselves.

Jesper snorted.

– Belly, spine… What’s next, spleen?

“Shut up,” Omen growled. According to the rules of negotiations, only lieutenants had the right to vote. Jesper murmured an apology and mimicked the art of locking his mouth shut.

“I think you’re threatening me, Hales,” Kaz said. “But I want to be sure of that before I decide what to do next.

Are you that confident, Brekker?

– In yourself and in no one else.

Hales burst out laughing and shoved Omen:

— Just listen to what this cheeky little piece of shit is saying! Brekker, you don’t own these streets. Kids like you are just fleas. Every couple of years there are new ones, they jump, bite, annoy everyone exactly until the moment when the big dog decides to scratch. To be honest, I’m tired of the scabies,” the man folded his arms across his chest, smugness emanated from him. “What if I told you that two city guards are now pointing their rifles at you and your boys?”

Inej’s heart sank. Isn’t that what Kaz meant when he said that the guards were under the hood of Hales?

The guy looked at the roof.

— Hired them to do your dirty work for you? I would say that this is not a cheap pleasure for a gang like the Black Peaks. I’m not sure that your treasury will be enough for this.

Inej climbed onto the railing and climbed from the safety of the balcony to the roof. If they survive this night, she will kill Kaz!

There were always two watchmen patrolling the roof of the Exchange. A few kruge from the Misfits and the Black Peaks ensured that they would not interfere in the negotiations – a standard deal. But Hales was not hinting at that at all. Had he really managed to bribe the guards to play snipers for him? If so, the chances of the Dregs being saved are slim to none.

Like most of the buildings in Ketterdam, the Stock Exchange had a gabled roof that did not leak during heavy rain, so the lookouts walked along a narrow passage that went around the roof – from there they could see the courtyard. Inej chose to ignore him. It would be easier to walk down the aisle, but this way the girl could be seen. Instead, she began to climb up the slippery tiles. Her body twisted at a dangerous angle, she crawled like a spider, keeping an eye on the lookouts and listening to the conversation in the square. Maybe Hales is bluffing? Or are the two guards really hiding behind the railing and aiming at Kaz, Jesper and Big Bolliger?

“I had to sweat,” Hales admitted. – Our turnover is small now, and the services of city guards are not cheap. But they are worth it.

— So they are worth me?

– You-you.

– I’m flattered.

– The dregs won’t last even a week without you.

– I would give them a month. Just out of generosity.

This thought has been spinning in Inej’s head for a long time.

« Would I have stayed if Kaz had died, or had I spit on my debt? Would you risk going against Per Haskell? »

If she doesn’t move faster, she might well know the answer.

“Smug slum rat kid,” Hales laughed. “I wish I could wipe that expression off your face!”

“So let’s go,” said Kaz. Inej risked a glance down. His voice changed, all the notes of fun disappeared.

— What should I do, Brekker? Tell them to shoot you in the good leg?

« Where are the guards? , Inej wondered as she picked up speed. She ran up the steep top of the pediment. The Stock Exchange building stretched along almost the entire length of the block. The area is too big to keep track of everything.

– Stop talking , Hales. It’s time to shoot.

“Kaz…” Jesper began nervously.

– Come on! Since you’re so brave, give the order!

What game was he playing? Maybe Kaz had foreseen this? Or was he just hoping that Inej would get to the Marines in time?

She looked down again. Hales was all in anticipation. He took a deep breath, puffing out his chest. The girl stumbled and almost rolled off the edge of the roof.

« He will do it! Kaz will be killed in front of my eyes0006″.

– Fire! Hales shouted.

The air trembled with the sound of a gunshot. Big Bolliger let out a weak groan and collapsed to the ground.

— Damn! Jesper knelt down beside his friend and pressed his hand to where the bullet had hit. – Poor little fellow! he yelled at Hales. “You just broke the rules of no man’s land!”

– What prevents me from saying that you fired first? he answered. “None of you will get out of here alive.

Hales spoke in a high voice. He tried to keep his cool, but Inej heard a note of panic. His words fluttered like the wings of a frightened bird. Why? A minute ago, he looked more confident than ever.

Gales, Stephen | is… What is Gales, Steven?

Stephen Hales F.R.S. (September 17, 1677 – January 4, 1761) was an English physiologist, chemist and inventor. Gales studied the role of air and water in maintaining the life of plants and animals. Investigating the evaporation of water by plants (transpiration), he showed that the main role in this process is played by leaves; calculated the evaporation rate. Using the “hemostatic method”, he determined the pressure of plant juice moving from the roots along the stem. He measured the growth rate of shoots and leaves of plants under different conditions. Gales proved the harm of breathing stale air and invented the fresh air ventilator, which increased the survival of people working on ships, factories and serving sentences in prisons. Gales wrote pamphlets about the dangers of alcohol, and largely thanks to his efforts in 1757, appropriate restrictive laws were passed in England.

Gales’ Air Collector and Pneumatic Bath (1727)

Gales’ most famous work is Plant Statics (1727), which sums up his many years of experiments in plant physiology. Gales believed that the absorption of water through the root and its movement through the plant occurs as a result of the action of the capillary forces of the porous body. He discovered root pressure, and in observations of the evaporation of plants, the sucking action of leaves in this process. Thus, Gales installed the lower and upper end motors, which cause the movement of water in the plant from the bottom up. A large number of experiments were carried out to study transpiration. By measuring the time that passes from the moment water is taken in by the roots to it evaporates through the leaves, Gales calculated the rate of water movement in the plant. He also determined the amount of water evaporated per day by a plant or a single branch. He measured the intensity of transpiration of plants with and without leaves, at different hours of the day and at different times of the year, with tender and leathery leaves, with lighted and shaded ones. Gales was also the first to draw attention to the selective ability of plant roots to absorb certain minerals from the soil. The scientist was one of the first to guess that one of the sources of accumulation of solid plant substances is air and light. Gales tried to investigate the exchange of gases that occurs during the life of a plant, but it was far from the discovery of the process of photosynthesis, because scientists at that time could not yet distinguish between the gases that make up the air.

In 1733, Gales’ work “Hemostatics” was published, in which the results of Gales’s experiments on the study of the blood circulation of various animals were summarized.

Gales made an important step in the field of pneumatic chemistry: he invented the “ pneumatic bath ” – a device for trapping gases released during the decomposition of substances, which was a vessel of water immersed upside down in a bath of water. Thus, researchers have received the most important tool for the isolation, identification and study of various volatile substances.
