About Garrett. Legendary person!

Garrett Development

Garrett Electronics Inc., (trademark of Garrett Metal Detectors), was founded in 1964 by graduate engineer and businessman Charles L. Garrett.

After graduating as an electronics engineer in 1959, Charles is involved in the NASA space program, designing electronic components for the first American lunar expeditions.

Vocation becomes profession

On weekends, Charles’s lifelong love of treasure hunting and adventure took him to the countryside, where he spent a lot of time with a metal detector looking for coins, jewelry, and other lost treasures. Disappointed with the metal detectors of the time, Charles was convinced that he could create a metal detector that would make finding treasures quick and easy.

Using his extensive knowledge of electronics, Charles was able to improve metal detection technology. At 19At 64, he began developing his own underground metal detector while working nights in a small garage in north Texas. The next year, with a thousand dollars in savings and the blessing of his wife, Eleanor, Charles bought enough parts to build 25 metal detectors and never looked back.

Technology Pioneers

In the early 1970s, Garrett Electronics became a corporation and rapidly conquered the metal detector market. From the very beginning, the company has made extensive use of existing technologies, and has acquired patents for new technologies such as Zero Drift circuitry (1971), dual-coil BFO discriminator (1973), the Gravity Trap® Gold Pan (1975).

The company has consistently invested most of its profits in research and development, establishing a large engineering department dedicated to researching new and improving existing metal detection methods.

By the end of the 70’s, the Garrett engineering team knew that the key to creating an advanced detector was the use of computer technology. Their foresight and perseverance paid off in 1982 when the company received the first US patent for the use of a computer chip in a metal detector. Patent number 4,709,213 paved the way for the creation of the GTA (Graphic Target Analyzer) and Master Hunter® CX series of metal detectors, in which the microprocessor-controlled circuit had the ability to discriminate, and had sensitivity, depth of search, ease of use incomparable to analog detectors.

A New Line of Business – Security Detectors

In 1982, Garrett becomes a recognized expert in ground metal detectors and begins developing security metal detectors for the Los Angeles Summer Olympics. Garrett has manufactured and installed 60 walk-through and 120 handheld metal detectors. The two-week use of the detectors was a huge success. This led to the opening at 1982 division of the company dealing with security detectors.

Global Leader

Today, Garrett is the world’s leading manufacturer of metal detection equipment. The company’s products cover a wide range of ground metal detectors of various levels of complexity, inspection metal detectors for security.

Garrett’s metal detectors have a reputation for high reliability, as always pursued by company founder and president Charles Garrett.

Many years ago, my wife Eleonora and I decided to make the best equipment and provide the best service to our customers. These principles underlie Garrett and are the reason why the company is today.”

Continuous product development and improvement, coupled with strong user support, has helped the company continually develop ground metal and safety detectors.

Academy Garrett

The Academy is one of several resources the company offers to improve education. Since the founding of the company, Charles Garrett has written several books on the art of treasure hunting and continues to create numerous instructional videos on the use of Garrett metal detectors.

A team of dedicated engineers is constantly striving to create new and better products and expand the use of existing technology.

Garrett Metal Detectors are an uncompromising guarantee that every product lives up to the exacting standards of Charles Garrett himself, ensuring that the company’s future designs continue to excel in the future.

Garrett turbochargers wholesale and retail

Catalog

The name of John Clifford Garrett is inextricably linked to the history of turbocharging. Garrett’s passion for engineering and aviation was evident from a very young age. John Clifford’s dream was to run his own aviation corporation, and on May 21, 1936, he realized it by creating the Aircraft Tool and Supply Company (later Garrett Supply Company) in a one-room office in Los Angeles.

By the end of the 1930s, the company’s first product, an all-aluminum aircraft intercooler, was built. The fifties were marked by the diversification and expansion of Garrett’s activities. The company’s experience and expertise in aerospace design fueled the development of the firm’s ground business, and Garrett soon became synonymous with a name associated with engine building in the automotive sector.
